Hope theres still a sequel to be found and that I haven't found it yet. Loved the story the first 3 times I read it. Gonna go read it again

This was a really amazing story. All the characters came out so clear. I love it!

And here's a great place to leave my overall thoughts. I really enjoyed this fic, both when I first read it and now, and I think you did a great job for undertaking such a big world in the span of time it takes to do a Resbang. I think you handled the pacing pretty well for such an expansive story, and I liked how you brought everyone together. I am absolutely gonna hold you to that sequel! I'm also curious to see if Kim and Jackie make an appearance. Anyway, great job overall, and I am greatly looking forward to Shinigami Rising!

There were some truly stellar lines in this. I love that Masamune claimed that Black*Star lacked the discipline to defeat him. It's a glaring weakness that the otherwise incredibly powerful meister has, and it's a big part of his journey to master that and master himself, and it was portrayed so well here. The line about how the siblings were strangers was really excellent and showed both of them on their respective paths. I would have liked to see the fight between them last a little longer, but I love how everyone is there for her when she wakes up. Awesome job.

Wait I might have lied, /that/ was a fantastic last line. I giggled out loud. I also really loved the line about Lord Shinigami helping Kid either be more normal or more godlike. It speaks so well to the idea that Kid is alone and doesn't know what he's meant to be. It's very different than what he is in canon, but very, very appropriately so. I also giggled at Black*Star's devastation at not being able to fight; really great touch.

Definitely one of my favorite chapters. I really love the addition of the culture surrounding board games and the cutthroat competition around them. It's a great piece of worldbuilding and it's so apropos. Your description of Maka as haggard and worn down was a really great piece of imagery; I could see it so clearly in my mind's eye without it feeling overdone. And of course, this had one of the best last line's. Really, really well done.

Another great chapter. I really like that the old guard is repeating the same kind of mistakes that Lord Shinigami likely perpetrated, like keeping secrets and the like. You're setting it up nicely that Kid will come in and change that. I also like that he's being referred to as the "fragment"; it's a great way for him to remain mysterious until we see him. Great job!

I love the detail that Black*Star can't read. It seems likely that he missed that window, and you played it well. Black*Star calling every other weapon a toy was hilarious; he was asking for an ass whooping and I strongly suspect he'll get it at some point. I really love Tsubaki's quiet determination, and I'm really compelled by her story. There were a few grammatical errors in this chapter that I noticed, but it was nothing that affected comprehension and it was really strong anyway. On to the next!

Soul's deal with Oni has a great ominous feel to it; I love the way you captured it. The line about the will o' the wisp leading them to drown was really, really evocative. I thought that worked perfectly to set the mood. Stein's whole conversation was just delightful as well. Also I really like how you justified Maka's anger at Spirit in this AU. I felt that it really rang true and was very, very applicable. There was a fair amount of explanation in this chapter, which slowed the pace a bit, but I'm excited for the next with that cliffhanger.

Quite the road trip, ahah. I really liked that both of them had good points regarding whether or not to try to help people or risk endangering themselves over and over again. I thought your work in of the piano scene was really well done; it didn't feel shoehorned in or out of place, but still managed to evoke the same feeling that the original had done. It also breaks my heart but resonates so well to see Maka praying to all these gods who no longer exist. Really, really great.

I really really liked the chance you took to worldbuild here. I could easily picture Vegas and its new center hub of activity and all the resources being funneled into it. I really like that touch. I also really enjoyed Black*Star's gentle, subtle pursuit. I think it fits him well and fits the world well, and it broke my heart a little to see Tsubaki be touched yet knowing it was all gonna end. I think this was a really, really strong chapter, and I really am glad you chose to rotate the perspective here.

Another great one. I loved the quip about Soul's vertigo talking; that made me laugh. I also really enjoyed how even after a short time, he already knows how to distract her with her own anger. I also think Maka's pushiness feels very in character, and I appreciate that it's not overdone but also not downplayed. Really great job!

So continues my quest to review every Resbang properly. Even though I read this when it first came out, I got distracted before leaving a proper review, but I'm here to fix that now. I really loved the line about the moon's smile equaling the bloodlust of the gang below; it was a great image and helped set the tone of this new world. It was sad, but so appropriate, that Wes's soul was doomed to dissipate without Shinigami around. I appreciated that touch. Also the fact that Noah called the place he kept his collection the /Ark/ is phenomenal. Seriously, super great. An awesome beginning!
