I liked this, you wrote them so well. I can see John having a bad childhood, he never talks about it. How could you do that to Benedict's parents!? JK. I don't think Sherlock had a good childhood either to be honest, who knows. Really good job.

That was wonderful. While I agree now that Sherlock's parents quite likely were not abusive, it was still a head canon I'd had.
I loved how well you portrayed the whole unspoken aspect to John and Sherlock's relationship. In some fics I've read, they have everything out in the open, but I tend to like this interpretation better. Not only do I think that it's the closer-to-canon interpretation, I think it's more in-character for them both. As was the whole caring side to Sherlock.
Finally, the platonic cuddling? …yeah, I'm a sucker for that whatever the fandom.

This is horrifically bitter sweet. The companionship and understanding between the two is really touching but the confrontation scene between John and his Dad in Chapter 4 was so INTENSE

Sherlock obviously did have wonderful parents, who probably didn't really understand him or Mycroft, but loved them both anyway. In other words, the Holmes boys have no excuse for acting as they do.
