This kept me on the edge of my seat! Just the sort of twisted game Joker _would_ play, and what a terrible ordeal for Bruce and those poor boys... And then being badly wounded on top of that. DX Leave it to them to express such deep love for each other even in such a horrible situation.

I've read this story before and I love it. It does however remind me of something. I start this off by saying I'm not trying to be overly critical. I fully understand that Richard as the first Robin is your focus, he's the primary character alongside Bruce in the majority of your stories and is ultimately never completely absent. That being the case he is the Robin that is most focused on and closest to Bruce - which in itself has some backing in canon - in your writing. Another author in the Bat fandom that I often read has the same situation but with Jason instead of Dick. And all being equal you manage to work in both Jason the prodigal son in very well - his own separate relationship with Bruce and his issues are well played, especially in "The Silent Treatment" and the various "A Counting of Days" stories. Damian again is done well his and relationship with Bruce is again a whole different kettle of fish that has inns and outs unique to it. I often feel though that you characterize Tim as a bit redundant to put it bluntly, and he seems to only ever be a foil to Dick - I actually see a lot of authors do this and it may have grounds in canon - but it always seems like he's characterized as being distant and others are in turn distant to him. He seems to be always the secondary thought, and second best - perhaps because of his again canon traits - rather than first in his own right. Again this isn't really a criticism but more of a general observation. Finally when you write him whenever he's in peril not only is Dick always by his side but always worse off. For curiosities' sake, I wonder how Bruce would react when Tim was the sole person threatened or in danger of death or serious injury. Would he be just as frantic - or more controlled? Does Tim really think he's inferior, does he believe or fear deep down that like the Joker and others have said, he's only a replacement goldfish? First for Jason and then Dick as well ? That unlike Jason who eventually carved his own place he's simply a place holder - abet a good one - and that he could be replaced himself with greater ease than Jason "replaced" Dick or he himself replaced Jason? What would his death mean? Especially with Damien now in the picture?
Just some ranting thoughts.

This was adorablely sad oml

I really liked this - the bat family moments really. You have these characters down in a way that shows their true selfs and no too many people are able to do that (let alone perfect the thoughts of the Batman) but anyway, this was a gripping read and very well done. Lost some sleep trying to finish it last night (school be damned) and then finished it up today because I couldn't wait to see what happened next. The ending was great.

Anyway, good job. Really good job and this was an amazing story! :)

Reread this one, enjoyed it even more this time. Lovely characterization in amongst all the angst. :))))

My stomach was in knots the entire story. You have a knack for suspense. Even though I was pretty sure there was going to be a happy ending, it was hard seeing how much the characters were suffering. Thanks for writing!
