From the beginning this has been such an emotionally, moving work. I liked it back when I first read it. Still into it today.

I love how you handled this chapter. Real feelings from H&A. Her feelings over Phoebe's happiness, his last words to her, her life after modeling, her torment.
I was thinking how it would be nice if Lorenzo asks to marry her and she learns to love him and put the past behind her. There is just so much deep-seated hurt back in Hillwood. Can she recover with a new life? Start her own family with a fabulous man? Help other children? I think so, but normally, I love a A&H ending too.
Also, from a realistic view, if she did go to Arnold, step-parenting is not easy. So many issues between them, but you're capable of pulling off the best ending for your story. Looking forward to more.

I must say I quite enjoyed a new experience with your story~ Sometimes I read something and I feel emotions the character is feeling, but in all honestly it's usually sadness, and this is the first time I experience a sense of relief. I came to similar conclusions about Arnold's life here and after reading all this new information, especially how Helga took it, did give me sense of relief that even if they don't get together (something usually inconceivable in my mind usually) they'll be okay

The story is progressing nicely.
Good to know how it went down with Lila. Not at all as Helga thought it did. Part of me wishes she would slap Arnold off, declare her never ending hatred for him, and leave town happily with Lorenzo or Torvald. The other part wishes she would still slap him off, understand slightly were he was coming from during that time and how he grieved, then leave town happily with Lorenzo or Torvald.
