Reviews for No Going Back
wslowry chapter 2 . 1/11/2014
A perfect cap to the story - and I do think Sybil would find some way to continue her secret operation!
foojules chapter 1 . 1/8/2014
Yay! I love Breakin'-the-Law Sybil. I always like to think that once she saw the situation on the ground in Ireland she would have helped women with family planning in some capacity.
feminista12 chapter 2 . 1/7/2014
I really enjoyed your fic! I especially appreciate stories that include important women's history! Your story and your characterizations reminds readers that even if we didn't see this characters on screen acting this way, there were heroic people helping women adapt under ridiculous circumstances like contraception censorship.
Saissa chapter 2 . 1/7/2014
Good for you Sybil - you dont give up.
Saissa chapter 1 . 1/7/2014
I have to agree with Sybil. That the CATHOLIC church, even in the 21st century, still does not allow contraception, (And does not allow divorce either) and thereby still keeps WOMEN as sex slaves to their men, is completely and totally disgusting!

I am so glad that Tom is an "enlightened" man. Must be all that School of Hard Knocks education he got in England.
The Irish Chauffeur chapter 2 . 1/7/2014
Excellent. I really enjoyed this, with the contraband being smuggled into Ireland - somewhat unsuccessfully - being different to the usual ammunition, explosives, and rifles. The one I really feel sorry for though in all this is not feisty Sybil, nor indeed Tom, but poor old Matthew. Not only is he married to Mary, but now has to travel across the Irish Sea to deal with the Irish police!

PS Looks like "your" Bransons are going to make it back to England before "mine" do!
shana.rose chapter 2 . 1/7/2014
*Happy sighs* A perfect ending
EJ96 chapter 2 . 1/7/2014
Love it ! :)
shana.rose chapter 1 . 1/6/2014
*SCREAMING* So glad you put this on FF! I just love Sybil fighting for her beliefs!
wslowry chapter 1 . 1/6/2014
This was perfect - Sybil's fighting for women to be informed of their options, and I love the honest discussion she and Tom have about it. I think the image that stuck with me the most though was the three sets of eyes blinking from the back seat - Tom and his little darlings. You always write these two so well!
Feminista2012 chapter 1 . 1/6/2014
Great story. Loved the wording of winning the battle for freedom but losing our liberties- true for our current times in different ways. Thanks for writing!
Welsh mama chapter 1 . 1/6/2014
"She had stared them down with the skill engrained by a Crawley woman since the nursery" - loved that sentence!

This is something that I can really imagine Sybil doing, her convictions proving louder than her fear. Look forward to seeing where you go with it!
mademoiselle.poupee chapter 1 . 1/6/2014
It's here! I read this on Tumblr and loved it so much.
A century later and the issues here are still so, so incredibly relevant and timely.
Championing this cause is also so incredibly Sybil and I can just picture her doing that exactly when they return to Ireland.
Wonderful. Very wonderful!
