Huge thanks to YellowAngela for writing this chapter. She also finished up all my other orphaned fics, she has been incredibly supportive, and she's just all around wonderful

"What is that thing?" Holiday stared at the fallen alien creature.
"An agent of Cthulhu." Six answered.
"Gesundheit." Rex said.
Six turned his glare at him. "This is no joke. If Black Knight was able to call the minions of this hell spawn, then the whole world is in trouble."
"Cthulhu is just a fantasy story by H.P. Lovecraft." Holiday protested.
Six snorted. "He didn't know anything until he accidently stumbled into a meeting of Cthulhu's worshipers. Then tried to make money off of it."
"This is too much." Holiday shook her head.
"Rex, how did you know it was there?" Six questioned him.
""I dunno. Just felt something weird." Rex shrugged.
"I think Black Knight was trying to bring Cthulhu into this world and use Rex as its vessel." Six theorized.
"Que wha?" Rex gaped at his mentor.
"The transfer was almost complete until I disrupted the ceremony." Six said more to himself. "So that's why Rex can now sense these creatures because he has some of Cthulhu's power."
"This is nuts." Holiday stated. "I'm a woman of science but everything here… it's like I was sucked into a Doctor Who episode."
"Uh, guys the thing isn't dead." Rex pointed at the writing monster.
Six immediately went into action. His blade neatly severed the head from the body. Green goo flowed from the body. The monster stopped moving.
"Eww, that was sick… and wrong." Rex gagged.
"We need to get Rex out of here. We can sever the link to Cthulhu if we break the werecat curse." Six said ushering them towards the exit.
"How is that even related?" Holiday demanded.
Six sighed. He hated to waste time explaining but knew Holiday's stubbornness would hold them back. "Fine, but we need to walk and talk." They encountered several Black Pawns.
"Guys? They don't feel right." Rex shuddered.
"They must be infused with some of Cthulhu's power. The only way to stop them is to sever their heads." Six immediately dispatched the first one. Green smoke and sparks came from the neck.
"Rex concentrated and even in his werecat form managed to make his BFS. He sliced off another's head. Holiday looked at her useless firearm. She glanced around quickly. She quickly spotted a chandelier suspended from the ceiling. Thinking quickly she shot the ropes that held it in place. The chandelier was released. It dropped down trapping several Black Pawns. Six quickly sliced off their heads. More green smoke dissipated into the air.
"Nice." Six commented.
"You're not the only one who can fight." Holiday snorted.
"Um, guys… I have a bad feeling right now." Rex shivered again.
Black Knight appeared with her entourage of Black Pawns and slimy creatures.
"You are not leaving with out vessel." She snarled. "Take Rex, the rest… kill." She ordered.
The Black Pawns and monsters descended on them.
"What do we do now?" Rex asked as they backed away.
"There's no shame in a tactical retreat." Six answered flatly.
"What?" Rex asked confused.
"Run!" Holiday grabbed Rex's wrist and dragged him down a hall. Six's blades made quick work of the archway so that the rubble blocked the opening of the hallway./p
"Rex," Holiday panted. "Make your Rex Ride!"
"Oh, yeah." Rex smacked his head. A second later his legs were forming into a bike. Holiday and Six hopped onto the back. They sped down the hall. A group of Black Pawns blocked them as they approached the exit.
"Ramming speed!" Rex yelled as his bike grew a battering ram.
The Black Pawns fell like bowling pins.
"Rex, next time warn us before you do that!" Holiday yelled.
"What? I said ramming speed." Rex said.
"Watch out!" Six called out from the back.
Rex looked up front to see a rather large green creature with wavy tentacles in the way.
"Evasive maneuvers!" Rex turned down a different hallway.
"Six, you said that turning Rex back will break the demon's link to him. How?" Holiday asked as they zoomed down the new hallway./p
"The supernatural aspect of his werecat nature makes it possible for Cthulhu to latch onto his soul. If we get rid of it he won't have any hold in this world." Six answered.
"Makes sense." Holiday said.
"Really? Because I have no idea what you just said." Rex griped.
"Just get back to Providence, Rex." Six said trying not sound exasperated.
"Trying!" Rex headed toward the doorway that was marked EXIT.
In a puff of purple smoke, Black Knight appeared with two of the green creatures on either side of her. "You two take out Halfling and Doctor. I'll get Rex." She extended her whip. The tip hit the wheel of the bike. The bike tipped over. Six grabbed Holiday by the waist and leapt off before they could fall. They landed safely. Rex was not so lucky. He slid to a stop at Black Knight's feet. She smiled coldly at him.
"Nice to see you too, Rex." She said smoothly.
Meanwhile the creatures approached Six and Holiday.
"Take off their heads?" Holiday asked.
"Take off their heads." Six said calmly. He tossed her one of his magna blades.
"Really?" Holiday asked in surprise.
"Unless you want to try to take it off with your fire arm." He commented dryly.
"Know it all." Holiday retorted. Six smirked.
He jumped up and attacked his monster.
Rex was having a hard time fending off Black Knight's attacks. His builds kept shattering from her hits.
"Give it up, Rex. Besides it's an honor to be chosen as Cthulhu's vessel." She sneered.
"Bite me." He answered disdainfully.
"You're not even human anymore." She stated.
Rex had an idea. "You're right. I'm not. It's time I used that to my advantage." Rex using his agile reflexes dodged her next attack. Next he leapt into the air and twisted his body so that he landed on her head. He began slashing at her with his claws. Black Knight screamed as she tried to keep him from blinding her. Holiday in the meantime was trying to find an opportune opening to attack. When the monster lunged for her, she saw her chance. As the creature reached her level, with the practice hand of a surgeon she took off its head. The body landed with a thud. Just then Six's monster also fell.
"My sword." He said to her.
When she gave him a look, he added, "Please."
Screams brought them back to the present.
"Rex!" Holiday ran to the werecat boy, but it was Black Knight who needed help.
Rex had shredded her cape and her face was a mess of scratches. Rex hissed and spat as he attacked. Six gave one swift kick and knocked Black Knight out from underneath him.
She went flying while Rex landed on his feet. He hissed at her.
"Come on Rex, let's go." Six used his blades to slice down the door. They escaped out of Black Knight's fortress.

It took a while but they were able to finally get back to Providence.
"Has the werecat been terminated?" Six asked Holiday.
"No, it's still in the Hole in the Petting Zoo." She led them down to the center of the area. When they got there, the cat was not there.
"Where… where did it go?" Holiday was flabbergasted.
"The cat?" Bobo swung down from the tree. "White sent it to be put down." He answered.
"What! I didn't authorize that!" Holiday exclaimed.
"Quick, Bobo, where did he take it?" Six asked urgently.
Bobo scratched himself on the chin thoughtfully. "I think they took it to Lab number 5."
"That's Fell's lab. It's been closed for years." Holiday said.
"They're going to dissect it." Six guessed. "But if we lose the cat we lose any chance of bringing Rex back!"
"Aw, man, does this mean I'm gonna be a kitty for the rest of my life." Rex groaned.
"Hey, what happened to you?" Bobo noticed for the first time that his friend was not quite himself.
"Long story." Rex said.
"One we don't have time to tell. Come on!" Six ran out of the Petting Zoo.
They ran to Fell's old lab.
"White is not answering his comlink." Holiday reported.
"Why am I not surprised?" Six muttered under his breath.
The lab was locked when they reached it. Yowls could be heard from the other side.
"Stand back." Six took out his blades. Blade lines could be seen from the other side before the door fell down. The startled Providence agents and scientists turned to look. The werecat was strapped to the table. It hissed and screamed violently.
"Step away from that werecat." Six demanded with his blades out. "I want everyone out now!" Everyone nervously did as the irate ninja said. "Not you, Rex! No Bobo, you can go."
When everyone was gone, Holiday ran over to the cat.
"Be careful. Don't let her bite you." Six warned.
Holiday nodded. She scanned the werecat.
"Incredible. This isn't an EVO at all. It's nanites are all dormant. But it's cell structure is like nothing I've ever seen. She took a needle and stuck it into the cat who if it could curse was most certainly doing it now.
Holiday took the blood sample to the electron microscope. She examined it. There was several minutes of silence as she was absorbed in her work.
Rex shifted impatiently. He then sat down on all fours. Using his hind leg he scratched the back of his ear. "Um Six, can you get the spot between my shoulder blades… yeah, that's it… ahhh." Rex slouched in happiness as Six reluctantly scratched the area.
"That's it." Holiday suddenly said.
Six and Rex straightened up.
"There's an anomaly, like a virus, in her blood. Rex come here. Let me get a sample of your blood." Holiday didn't wait for Rex's approval she just swatted an alcohol pad across his arm and jammed a needle in. Rex yelped as the needle pulled some of his blood out.
"Oww, Doc. You could have warned me." He whined.
"Consider us even for the bike ride." She said wryly. Placing the sample under the same microscope, it only took a few seconds to find what she was looking for.
"Okay, I know what to look for. I can calibrate Fell's molecular dissection machine to pull out the infectious cells in Rex's body." She said.
"Then Rex would return to normal." Six finished.
"Yes. Help me get the cat off the bed." Holiday readied the cage while Six and Rex got the weerecat. She struggled but was no match for Six who pinched it above it's neck and shoulder. She was immediately knocked out.
"Woah, Six. You've got to teach me how to do that!" Rex said impressed.
"Maybe, if you survive this." Six answered.
"You're a bowl full of sunshine, I ever tell you that?" Rex said sarcastically. Together they carried the werecat to the cage and dumped her in there. Six slammed the door shut.
Rex hopped onto the now empty table. "Okay now what?"
"Hold still and hope this works." Holiday said as she pulled the lever. The machine began humming. Six and Holiday stepped behind the protective force shield. The room glowed blue. Rex cried out in pain as particles were being pulled from his body. Holiday monitored the machine.
"20%... 50%...75%...100!" She quickly shut off the machine. The force shield shut off. Six and Holiday ran in.
Rex was on the bed, curled in the fetal position, head buried in his chest.
"Rex? Are you all right?" Six asked.
Rex groaned. When he stretched out, there were no longer cat ears or a tail.
Holiday scanned him. "You're back to normal Rex!" She said with relief. He suddenly burped. "Well, as normal as you ever will be." She added.

After Rex was given a clean bill of health and the werecat was deposited back in the Hole, Holiday went to check on Six's test.
"Is this really necessary, Doctor?" He asked in his monotone.
"Six, some of the weirdest moments have occurred in the past 48 hours and I'll be darned if I don't get some answers." She growled pulling his test from the centrifuge.
She stared in disbelief. "But this says you are 100% human."
"And why wouldn't I be?" Six asked.
"But you know all this occult stuff and Black Knight call you a Halfling… and… and…" She stammered.
"I think you've had a long day doctor. Perhaps some rest is in order. I'm sure all this will make sense in the morning." Six suggested.
"I guess I am a little tired." Holiday admitted.
"And you'll feel better after a good night's sleep." Holiday wasn't sure how she got to her room or bed but she was asleep in a matter of minutes. Six made sure she was okay before leaving. He made his way into his room.
The familiar smell of sulfur lingered in his room. "I owe you one." He addressed the people in his room.
"You need to be careful, luv. We can't have the humans finding out about us." A pink haired woman said.
"If you'll just let the banshee here give her cry…" The mummy figure growled.
"No!" Six snapped. "The sleep of forgetfulness will take care of any unwanted memories. She'll be convinced it was a dream by morning."
"And the boy?" The mummy continued.
"Already taken care of." Six answered.
"They better be. Otherwise we will be forced to emdo away/em with them." A man with a soft Spanish accent said. A clatter of cloven hooves and a flicker of a tail behind him betrayed his impatience.
"Oh, I's like to do that honor." The red-headed hulk grinned wickedly.
"Oh come on! Your idea of emdo away/em is jumping out of a closet. Why don't you go scare some babies 'cause even a child isn't afraid of that old trick." The pink haired lady scoffed.
"Better than wailing at them." The red- head retorted.
"Enough!" Six interrupted. "Everything will be fine. No one will be the wiser. Did you take the werecat with you?"
"Of course, what do you take us for?" The mummy grumbled.
"Don't know how she got out in the first place." The lady said.
"Well, make sure she doesn't get out again!" Six demanded.
"I's can make sure she never get out no where, I guarantee." The red-headed hulk rubbed his belly.
"Yes, and Bastet will skin you alive for eating her pet." The tail on the man with the Spanish accent swished angrily. "We've already spent enough time here. We must depart."
"Next time, don't let feral supernatural animals escape and we won't have any problems." Six countered.
The Spaniard snorted before disappearing in a red smoke. The mummy unraveled itself and disappeared into the duct work. The hulking figure opened the closet door and vanished in the shadows. The pink hair lady tossed a vial at Six who neatly caught it in the air.
"She has you wrapped around your little finger, doesn't she, luv?" She asked coyly.
"I have no idea what you mean." Six said stoically.
"Sure, luv. Keep telling yourself that." The lady turned intangible and phased through the walls. "Remember, you can only lie to yourself for so long."
Six looked at the vial. Walking to the bathroom, he flushed it down the toilet. There is no evidence now of his true heritage and what he truly is.
