I am so sorry that I've taken over a year the update.
I hope you enjoy:
"Who are you?" the receptionist asked.
Klaus knew he couldn't tell her the truth, so he decided to lie. He didn't have any false ID on him, so if he told her he was someone else he wouldn't have the papers to back it up, so he opted for the amnesia card. When they were discovered, the plane was forced to land early to take them to the nearest police station. Klaus had managed to escape but Elena had not, not that he cares.
"I don't know" he lied.
"You don't know?" the woman repeated in shock.
"Where am I?" Klaus asked before pretending to faint.
The woman rushed over to him and put him on the sofa. Klaus knew he had to leave before she called the police, coming here was stupid. The woman started dialling a number as she left the room. Klaus saw his chance and left as quickly as possible. He rushed into the streets of Beijing. It was too late to meet his family at the restaurant and he had no idea where his father's flat was and no means of communicating with his family. Klaus knew he had to try and find them, but Beijing wasn't a city he knew well but he knew someone that might help him…for a price.
…
Elena Petrova was currently chained to a chair in the FBI headquarters and Agent Salvatore was looking at her with interest. She looked exactly like his old love, Katherine, it was scary how much. Elena was starting to wish she hadn't got involved. What was she thinking? If she'd just let Elijah's family rescue him then she wouldn't currently be in this situation, which really has nothing to do with her. They wanted the Mikaelson's, not her and yet she didn't want to stab them in the back. She didn't care about Klaus or Kol but Elena and Caroline had started to get along again and she used to be her best friend. Those boys were innocents to but her main reason for keeping her mouth shut was Elijah.
The thought for betraying Elijah made her skin crawl. She supposed she did love him really and that's why she was resolved not to say anything. The agent in front of her was looking rather smug and very pleased with himself; it was irritating. Suddenly, Bonnie Bennett came in, looking pleased to be back on the case. She sat next to Agent Salvatore, who seemed annoyed by her presence but quickly hid it.
"Where are the Mikaelsons?" Salvatore pressed.
"Why should I tell you?" Elena responded tartly.
"Because things will go very badly for you if you don't" Bonnie answered quickly.
Elena wasn't having any of this.
"What grounds have you got to hold me?" Elena asked.
"Helping and protecting a high security prisoner for one" Bonnie told her.
"The Bulgarian government helped and protected Elijah Mikaelson, You haven't got any hard evidence that I was involved" Elena argued, "Even if I was involved, I would've been acting under the orders of my government, and therefore they are the ones you should be talking to"
Bonnie and Stefan didn't know what to say to that so they just kept their mouths shut.
"Well, do you have any hard evidence that I was involved?"
"No, but we know you were with Klaus Mikaelson, on the plane and who were helping him escape"
"In another country where you have no jurisdiction. I don't believe I have broken any laws so let me go"
"It doesn't matter what country you're in, you still aided Klaus Mikaelson and you will be imprisoned for that"
"I am a Bulgarian citizen, who committed this crime in another country. Klaus isn't just wanted by the States you know. You have no right to hold me"
Bonnie was sick and tired of this, she stood up and opened the door to shout to one of the agents.
"Call the Bulgarian embassy!" she yelled before closing the door and sat down again, "We have every right to hold you but if we can't sentence you for this crime, then your government can. You're going to jail, Miss Petrova and I don't care if you do it here or in Bulgaria"
…
Lucien Castle was an Englishman who lived in Beijing. He had been a part of the Mikaelson's criminal empire until it crashed. When it did, he escaped to China (as he was fluent in the language), on a merchant ship carrying stinky fish. He was a stowaway that lived in the cargo hold. When he arrived he got involved with the crime there, and has since become a well-known drug dealer. When he was a part of the empire, he helped run the British side of the business. If it's one thing he misses about home it a good old English pub.
Beethoven's fifth symphony in c minor played loudly in the background as he looked over his business records. There was a desperate knock at the door, one of his staff opened it and let that man in. It was none other than Klaus Mikaelson. Lucien hasn't laid eyes on him for at least seven years and he could see that Klaus clearly had no one else to turn to.
"Well, well, well" he grinned like that cat that's got its cream, "What is the mighty Klaus Mikealson doing in my humble abode?"
"It's hardly humble" came the witty reply.
Lucien smiled at his old friend and motioned for him to sit in the chair in front of him; which he did so. They both stared at each other for a few moments before replying. As nice as it was to him again, Lucien knew that this wasn't a social visit.
"What are you doing here Klaus?" Lucien wondered.
"I need to find my father" Klaus told him.
"Your father in dead" Lucien scoffed.
"You know he's not" Klaus countered.
There was complete silence for a few moments. Neither one said anything as the deafening sound of the ticking clock increased the tension, until one of them finally spoke.
"Why do you want to find him?" Lucien asked.
"He's the one that reached out to me. I was supposed to meet him at 12 but I got…detained" Klaus explained.
"If I knew how to find him and I'm not saying I do. What will you give me in return?"
Klaus laughed at his question.
"And here I thought we were friends" Klaus muttered sarcastically, "Are you forgetting who got you passage on that boat and who gave you the money to start a new life? And who warned you that Scotland Yard was going to arrest you? If it wasn't for me you'd be in some grotty prison cell".
As much as he hated it, Klaus had a point. He would be doing porridge if Klaus hadn't warned him about the arrest and helped him escape. Lucien owned Klaus everything and now was his opportunity to wipe the state clean so he decided to take it. He knew exactly where Mikael was. Lucien pulled out a piece of paper from his desk, and began writing the address on it; but before he gave it to him he wanted to clear the air.
"This makes us even" Lucien said in a deadpanned voice.
"Yes" Klaus nodded.
Lucien gave Klaus the address, Klaus had some Chinese money so all he needed was to get a taxi there; once he's bought a disguise of course.
…
Caroline couldn't stop worrying about Klaus. Was he the one that got caught? Surely they would've announced it by now. If they'd caught the leader of the Mikaelson clan then they'd definitely be boasting about it. That means they caught Elena, which makes her feel relieved but also a little concerned. Where was he? What country was he even in? Another thought that just entered her mind was that if Elena had been caught, what's to stop her from blabbing to the police? We're not her family and she and Elena hadn't been close friends for a long time. She had no reason to not to sell them out and Klaus had killed her parents, so now she finally has to opportunity to get her revenge.
All these thoughts continued to plague her and she paced her room. They had all been allocated a room to stay in apart from Henrik and Mikael who had to share. Those boys had become close friends in the short time they'd known each other. Caroline was glad that Henrik had a friend his own age with them. All she could think about was what would happen if they found them. Mikael Sr, Kol, Elijah and Rebekah would immediately be sent to prison, and so would she really for helping them, Mikael Jr would be sent back to his adoptive parents and Henrik would be put in a foster home…
No! She cannot allow that to happen; she won't allow that to happen.
Caroline missed Klaus more than words could describe, but she knew she had be strong for Henrik. There was a knock on her door. Caroline opened the door revealing Rebekah who just said:
"Mikael wants us in the library" Rebekah sounded like she hated playing messenger girl.
Caroline gave her look of sympathy, before joining everyone else in the living room. Kol and his son stood together on the right, while Elijah stood on the left where Rebekah joined him. Caroline decided to just stand next to them. Mikael stood in the centre of course flanked by Liv and Luke. One of his thugs was in the middle.
"Your son is here" the thug announced earning a squeal from Caroline.
Klaus walked in looking a complete mess; his wife and son ran to him and embraced him. Mikael rolled his eyes in distaste before coldly, saying:
"He's not my son"
Klaus removed himself from his family's embrace and stared at his father. He hated him more than words could express. He could've sworn that he looked disappointed when he discovered that Klaus was alive.
"You're the one that invited me here, not the other way around" Klaus sharply reminded him.
"Maybe the children she go to their room?" Rebekah suggested.
"Leave" Mikael ordered the children without looking at them.
Since they got there, Mikael Sr has treated Henrik with distaste and annoyance but he has taken a positive interest in Mikael Jr. Caroline made sure that Henrik and Mikael Sr were never in the same room together, because she feared what he might do. Kol on the other hand was concerned that his father would coerce his son into crime like he did with him and did the same thing as Caroline. He didn't want his son ending up like him.
When the boys has left they continued arguing.
"We all need to be united" Elijah tried to convince them, "A divided house cannot stand"
"He's right" Caroline backed him up, "We need to stick together"
"He's not a part of our family and neither are you" he spat at the blonde.
"You leave her alone!" Klaus yelled, "We didn't have to come here you know"
Mikael laughed at that comment, Klaus flashed back to his own childhood; all those painful memories came bubbling up to the surface, and if it was possible, it made him hate him even more.
"Yes, you did" his step-father countered, "You came crawling back to me because you had no choice. I am your only hope Klaus. If you don't come back to me they will catch you and put you in prison"
Klaus suddenly had an epiphany, was it worth working under his father again? Could he subject his son to the same childhood that he'd had? If he left, he would be caught and sent to prison. Klaus could handle being sent back to the funny farm again but then Caroline would be imprisoned as well and son would be in an orphanage. That was the only reason why he decided to stay.
"I'll stay, but I want to make something clear" Klaus told him, "I'm only doing this for Caroline and Henrik; not you"
Mikael smiled a cold smile.
"Whatever you say boy"
Kol left to get his son and his nephew but by the time he got there…
…both of them had gone…
…
Mikael and Henrik were currently, completely unconscious and in the back of a tinted limo. Meredith was stroking her son's head with pure joy. She had finally found her son after six long years. The nightmare of them taking him away from her, haunted her still, now she can finally be a mother to him. Enzo sat in the seat opposite, his only condition was kidnapping Henrik as well to get vengeance on Klaus.
Klaus will now have to do whatever he wanted now. Enzo was beyond happiness but not as happy as his companion. They were splitting up now, Meredith was going to settle down in Australia, with her son. She's already got their new identities. Dr Fell was going to work at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. She is going to be a working single mother whose husband has left his wife and son.
Henrik on the other hand wasn't going anywhere that pleasant. He was going to be locked up where Enzo is the strongest, in Rome but the boy won't be alone, there will be somebody else in his cell.
…
"WHERE THE FUCK ARE THEY!" Klaus shouted.
Klaus and Caroline ran desperately into the bedroom, which was empty apart from a note on side. Kol grabbed it before his brother could and started reading it aloud:
Dear Mikaelson's,
Mikael's mother has taken your son into her keeping; you will never see them again Kol and Meredith has fallen out of love with you and wishes to keep your son far from you. Henrik on the other hand, is in the dungeons, at one of my many residences. Your son will not be returned to you unless you play ball with me. Who am I?
Lorenzo Augustine of course.
I'll be in contact with you soon.
"THAT BLOODY BASTARD!" Klaus raged.
Caroline looked like she going to have a heart attack, so she sat down and tried to keep calm; which was impossible. Kol was broken hearted but slightly relieved. He was relieved that his son was safe but it was heart breaking that he will never see him again, and that Meredith had turned against him.
Elijah was trying to comfort his half-brother but it was proving impossible.
"We'll find him" Elijah tried reassure him.
"We're going to Rome immediately!" Klaus announced.
Caroline started nodding her head vigorously.
Mikael had entered the room looking like he really couldn't care less.
"You'll be caught" he slyly reminded him.
"I DON'T CARE" Klaus passionately yelled back.
"I'm going with you" Kol suddenly said, "Enzo may know where Meredith and my son have gone"
"Don't you get it?" Mikael smugly, told them, "He wants you to run off the Rome so you'll get caught. That's his plan and you are both walking straight into it"
"Then I'll be smart about it then" Klaus argued back, "But I am going to find my son before that sick bastard can do any damage".
…
Henrik was roughly thrown into a cell in some dark and dingy dungeon. He has never felt more terrified in his life but he wasn't alone. A teenager was huddled in the corner of the cell. He wasn't sure whether she was friend or foe. When Davina saw the boy and her heart broke. This boy couldn't be more than six-years-old. What kind of sick game were they playing? The poor thing was trembling with fright. She need to reassure him that he had nothing to fear from her.
"What's your name?" Davina asked.
The boy was still too terrified to speak.
"You don't have to be scared of me" she told him in a soft voice, "My name is Davina, what's yours?"
The boy looked at her for a few moments before answering.
"Henrik" he answered her.
Davina beamed at him and motioned for him to sit next to her. It seemed the boy was thinking it over, before deciding to do so. She shared her blanket with him, which he seemed grateful for.
"Why are you here?" Davina wondered.
"I have no idea"
…
Meredith and Mikael, were in their new Melbourne apartment. Mikael was still unconscious on the sofa as his mum started unpacking their things. Suddenly her son looked like he was waking up; this was what she was looking forward to. Meredith sat in front of him and waited for him to come to. When Mikael woke up he was confused. Where was he? Who was this woman? He got up sharply and tried to keep as much distance from himself and this stranger.
"Who are you?" Mikael demanded to know, "Where am I?"
"It's me" Meredith sobbed with joy, "I'm your mum"
