Here's a new chapter finally! When I originally wrote this story I had planned to add more later, but every time inspiration struck something would distract me before I wrote it down or could elaborate on it. This one finally stuck around long enough to be written! Enjoy!
~L.A. FBI Office~
It was an ordinary day in the FBI office. Charlie was in the middle of explaining how his math could have applied to a low level theft case the team finished to Don in the bullpen. "When you take into consideration the impossibility of randomness-" His phone goes off.
Colby jokes to David. "Saved by the bell." They chuckle as Charlie picks up.
"Hello. Oh hey Michael, what's up?" The agents see Charlie tense up. "What? Okay okay one second." He turns to Don. "I need to borrow the War Room for a minute."
"Sure Buddy, anything we can help with?"
Charlie shakes his head and heads to the War Room still talking on the phone. "Just a second I need my laptop. Okay what's the program? Give me the details." He shuts the door to the War Room and takes a marker to start doing the math, while the program loads on his computer. As the door shuts behind him a random agent is told to turn on the news.

Charlie has his computer out, phone on speaker, and his board clear for use.
"Michael, the device you found, is, is it anywhere near an orange box?"
"Yeah. What does that mean exactly?"
"Oh, God. They tapped into the black box."
"Oh. Oh, they've hacked the flight's computer, which means they have access to the system, which means they can spoof the black box data all at the same time. Crashing the plane without anyone knowing it was sabotage." They both take a second to absorb this fact. "You have to help me Charlie I can't fix this!"
Charlie takes a deep breath. "We can do this Michael just trust me and we'll get through this. I promise."

The office watches as a news report comes on about a plane that is going down.
Megan folds her hands together. "This is bad. All those people are gonna die and there's nothing we can do about it." The boys all just look grim at this fact.
Don notices Charlie writing on his boards at a fast but calm pace while still on the phone.
'Wonder what he's working on?'
~War Room~
"Can you sever all the wires between the device and the black box?"
"I think so."
"Good be ready to do it on my count."
~Bullpen~
Don still watching his brother as he's typing at a dizzying speed on his laptop.
"Hey guys check out Charlie." His team's attention leaves the tv and they watch as Charlie talks on the phone while typing.
"What's he doing?" Megan asks.
Colby shrugs. "It's the Whiz Kid for all we know he could be on the phone with the president of some fancy college or someone in the government."
David nods in agreement. Don isn't convinced. "I don't know I feel like he's doing something important. I'm just not sure what." The team go back to splitting their attention between the TV and their resident mathematician.
~War Room~
"Now?"
"No, not yet. Not yet. On my mark." Charlie types more on his laptop. "I got a lock on the virus, I just need to get ahead of it and divert its attack."
"Charlie we're at ten thousand feet and dropping fast!"
"Michael, as soon as the code stops cycling, sever the last wire."
"Yes Sir."
"All right, my code is in the flight computer. Pull the wires."
"Got it."
"Okay. The flight computer's clean. Make sure the pilots reset the panel."
"They're doing it now. Thanks Charlie I owe you. Again."
"No problem." He hangs up and leans back in his chair.

As the team sees Charlie stare at his screen they also watch as the plane seems to regain control and land safely on the highway, with not one person injured in the end. The office bursts into exclaims of relief.
"I can't believe it!"
"Thank goodness."
"Wow!"
"Damn good fortune."
Don regains control of the office. "Okay everyone the crisis has been averted let's get back to work." The office calms down as people return to their desks. Don and his team look back over at Charlie as he puts his hand through his hair and slumps in relief. The pieces click together.
"Did Charlie just help land a crashing plane while sitting in our office?"
"I think he did."
Charlie shuts down his computer and join the agents around the tv. "Hey guys. Sorry I took over the War Room, the call was important. What did I miss?" They stare at him. "What?"
"Did you just land a plane remotely?"
"No. That's impossible."
"Then what was that call about?"
"That's classified." With those final words he says goodbye and leaves the office, leaving gobsmacked agents in his wake.
I know hacking is more Amita's thing than Charlie's, but I thought it was cooler if Charlie did it.
