Here's my addition to the chain started by Song Of Hope... I didn't know Grace of Flame very well, but I had to do this. We may not be the biggest fandom out there, but one of the things I love about us is how incredibly close-knit we are. It's times like this where it really shows.
Among the mourners was a teenage girl with long black-brown hair, accented by lime green bangs and tips. Her bright green eyes reflected the shock and sorrow everyone was feeling. The girl wore strappy black stiletto heels that laced up her legs and a black ruffled high low dress along with a studded choker and bracelet, an ankh necklace, and an Eye of Horus bracelet.
The event that had brought everyone together was an unfortunate one, one they would all remember for the rest of their lives. The funeral for Kiara Destiny Summers would weigh on their hearts for long, long time. The girl would never be forgotten.
The coffin and grave marker were in plain sight, a stark reminder as to why they were all there, gathered together. Funerals weren't meant to be pretty. There was nothing beautiful about an untimely death. Especially for someone so young, still full of so much life.
Everyone around her looked so sad, so heartbroken. One by one everyone was taking turns, saying something about the girl they had lost.
She wanted to say something, too. She needed to say something. The only person holding her back... Was herself.
Taking a deep breath, she walked to the podium once it was free and began.
"My name is Stella Celatum. I'm sorry to say I didn't know her very well, but I can remember when Kiara first became a part of our world. She was an strong, amazing individual who always was there for everyone and was a wonderful friend. Her loss impacts all of us. It's going to be hard without her, but I think she'd want us to be strong. We can all get through this difficult time together; we're going to support one another and keep going. The scars may never heal, but with each day they'll hurt less and less, knowing she's in a better place. We can't let this grief and pain consume us because she isn't with us anymore. It's horrible to lose someone so young and who inspired so many of many of us, but we can't dwell on this; we have to move forward and keep Kiara in our hearts even if she isn't physically here with us now.
"She's not completely gone, though. As long as we remember Kiara, she'll always be with us. We won't forget her. Remember to keep what time we did have with her in our memories, and how it affected us. We'll remember the person she was and what she did for all of us. Kiara was a beautiful young girl and while it hurts and we all miss her-we're going to miss her for a long time, we can still take inspiration from her. She suffered through things some of us won't ever deal with in our lifetimes. Things we can't even imagine. Sometimes you can only stay strong for so long before it breaks you.
"Kiara is finally at peace. We can find solace now knowing that she can be happy wherever she is now in a way she just couldn't be in life."
Stella took one more deep breath, this time to finish her speech.
"She may not have been here a long time, but she touched all of our lives, and in doing so, she helped change the world."
