"Don't leave."

Kagome immediately tried to pry herself from his hold and she felt more and more tears fall from her cheeks. His soft embrace only grew firm as she squirmed in his arms, she grunted as she kicked against his legs and tried harder and harder to escape his hold but to no avail.

"Stop squirming." his calm voice whispered huskily into her ear. Kagome shook her head angrily as she struggled harder. "Let me go! Get your hands off me!" she cried as she felt the tears continue to pour over her cheeks, most likely smearing her makeup and leaving trails of tinted water on her face.

Sesshomaru kept his position firm as he held onto the young woman. He had ran into the city after her abrupt leaving. Despite the fact that his back was sore from hitting the floor after catching her, he kept running in the snow. He was quite determined to catch up to her before she got too far away from him.

Her heavy crying and weakening struggle kept his resolve strong, he would not allow her to get away again without clearing up what the hell was going on with her. He already knew she wouldn't have fallen off the balcony on her own but when she ran from him after his big catch, he only grew curious about what was going on in her head.

Kagome's crying grew loud as she shouted at him, ordering him to let her go and to leave her alone. She tried scratching at him, smacking or slapping, anything to get him to release her.

"Let me go! Let me go!" she insisted, her voice growing hoarse from the yelling. "Stop your incessant shouting and calm down. Tell me what's bothering you." he whispered into her ear, hoping his calming yet firm tone would help.

Kagome's eyes widened before she felt her body tingle with heat and goosebumps. Her voice suddenly left her as she felt her body fall loose into his embrace, her arms falling to her side. Her fingers shook as she shuddered with small sobs, his mere voice had caused her emotions to settle gently, though she did not know for how long.

Her shoulders shook with sobs as her hair fell over her eyes, tears continuing to flow in heavy rivers over her face. She felt broken and at the end of her rope, her energy spent. There was too much going on, too many hard truths shoved in her face to shatter her feeling of self worth and self esteem. Though they were already low, they were now at an all time low.

"You and he are on different levels."

"No matter how you dress…or how hard you work…"

"Sesshomaru does not deserve to be held down by a nobody."

"A petty little thing like you can't even begin to comprehend him as a person."

"He won't need you."

"You will amount to nothing."

The memories of the spiteful women, the strange looks people gave her and her own problematic thoughts swirled in her mind, furthering her confusion and self-hatred. They were right, a successful and handsome man like Taisho Sesshomaru shouldn't be involved with an anxiety-ridden reader. She never should have met him.

"Who spoke to you? What did they do?" Sesshomaru asked, keeping his guard up in case she would start struggling again. He hoped he was asking the right questions as he did not want her to start another fit. He listened for any kind of response as he kept his head close to the side of hers. The only noises he could hear were the sound of Kagome's heavy breathing and the slight noise of the cool night breeze.

He held her close as he felt her move her hands up and clench her fists against his chest, her dark hair covering her eyes. Kagome felt weak and tired as she tried to make sense of what was going on and the decisions she was to make in regards to what she was to do after this night was over. She felt overwhelmed and scared, she didn't know what to truly think right now.

Minutes seemed to pass as he held her, not wanting to let her go. He felt her shivering increase, possibly due to the cold or another crying fit. The author carefully held onto her with one hand, while the other moved up onto her chin, lifting her head up gently. He could see the heavy trails of tears on her pale face and the redness of her eyes and cheeks. While her head had been lifted up to meet his gaze, her eyes did not.

"Look at me." he said gently as he wiped away a new tear with his thumb. Despite the water running down her cheeks and her face slightly flushed, she still looked lovely. He imagined she'd look even lovelier smiling and feeling content.

Kagome sniffled and bit her lip, still upset at him for finding her out here. She took a shaky breath as she watched the fogginess of her exhale fall from her lips. His gentle command was tempting but she shivered again at the prospect of meeting his heated gaze.

Yet she felt herself succumb to the temptation and she let her eyes meet his. Perhaps the sooner she listened, the sooner she could leave and never see his handsome face again.

Sesshomaru looked deeply into her brown eyes and almost felt himself tear up at the sadness he saw within them. The heavy depression and melancholy swirling within the deep recesses of her eyes made him feel all the more concerned for her. "Tell me what happened…" he whispered to her, his breath still smelling of the rich wine he had been drinking through the night.

Kagome exhaled heavily as she felt her heart clench in her chest. The memories of all the things that had been happening made themselves fresh in her mind once again, resulting in more tears bubbling in her eyes. She immediately began to pound her fists against his chest as she felt heavy sobs begin to leave her body.

"I-Idiot! Moron! Why did you come after me?!"

She beat against his chest as his grip tightened on her, his other hand falling back to her shoulder to hold her back. Sesshomaru quickly grabbed her left wrist, preventing that hand from hitting his chest. Kagome struggled more as she felt more words fall from her mouth, her emotions running wild.

"W-Why are you even here?! Why the hell are you even bothering coming out here? Leave me alone!" she cried out as she felt Sesshomaru try to pull her back to his chest, his grip on her back and her wrist was unrelenting.

"Idiot! Let go!" she continued to cry as she pulled more and more against him. Sesshomaru was silent but surprised with how she was acting again.

"Why are you bothering with someone like me? You've got so much potential and you're wasting it having me around! I'm doing you a favor! L-Let me go!"

Sesshomaru felt his ire growing as she yelled at him, thrashing about in his grip, refusing to tell him what got her so upset. Her ramblings began to become blurry sounds as he focused on one specific detail on the girl before him.

Kagome sobbed loudly as she moved to push Sesshomaru back and got ready to bolt. But before her free hand moved towards his chest, he quickly grabbed it and held her hands to her sides. "Asshole! Let. Me. G-"

Her words were immediately cut off by a pair of soft lips pressing against hers.

BAM! I know I'm evil.

So sorry about the wait, but be ready for more drama on the way my readers!

Bye bye for now...
