Aomine walked slowly towards the streetside basketball court, where Kuroko said he will meet him. He had realized he had left his house a little too early, and so Aomine took his time on his way to the meeting place.
He did get to the right place on time. Only the person whom he was supposed to meet was not there.
Instead, it was Kagami whom Aomine encountered at the basketball court. Much to the latter's chagrin.
"What are you doing here?!"
The two boys asked the same question exactly at the same time.
"I was supposed to meet Tetsu here." It was Aomine who answered first.
"Kuroko?" Kagami was surprised. "He invited you here as well?"
"Yeah."
Kuroko invited me and this guy? Aomine thought. He found the idea weird, albeit annoying. He realized he had to wait for Kuroko-together with the bushy-browed redhead. And it was obvious that Kagami disliked his company as well. Nevertheless, neither one of them had a choice in the matter, and so they waited in the court together.
Aomine and Kagami waited for more than an hour, but Kuroko did not make an appearance. Aomine took out his phone and called him, but the line was busy. He had sent more than ten e-mails but he received no reply.
What's worse, is that Kagami began to hiccup.
At first he found it funny, seeing Seirin's tiger began emitting abrupt, high-pitched sounds repetitively. Aomine simply ignored him afterward, thinking that the hiccups will be gone soon.
But the hiccups did not stop, even after more than fifteen minutes. Aomine began to get pissed.
"Seriously, Kagami. Stop that." He blurted out in annoyance.
"I can't-" Kagami replied, which suddenly followed by another hiccup.
Aomine sighed. Getting angry at Kagami wouldn't stop the hiccup, he thought. It's better to help the guy before he choke and die.
"Oi…" Aomine scratched his head in defeat.
"You condition's serious. I'll go buy some medicine in the pharmacy."
"Wait," Kagami said, and almost choked by another hiccup.
"Aomine-*hiccup*-I'm coming with you-"
Whether Kagami has a hint of clumsiness in him, or his hiccups were too much to handle, or he was really just an idiot, nobody exactly know. But for some reason, he did not notice the most deceitful object of accident-that is, the banana peel on the ground-and slipped towards Aomine.
And the bigger accident happened.
Kagami's entire weight fell over Aomine, and as it happened, their faces collided and their lips touched in an accidental kiss.
What the hell? Aomine thought. His mind reeled with many thoughts.
Bastard! Get your soft lips off mine! Wait, soft lips? Gezz, I must be out of my mind!
Aomine remained frozen for a moment, until Kagami recovered from the fall and pushed himself up.
"Ugh, gross." Kagami wiped his lips in disgust. His face, however, became almost as red as his hair.
Aomine himself got up, and was also blushing.
"You bastard." He spoke angrily.
"If Kuroko suddenly came and saw us-"
He did not get to complete his sentence. He suddenly made an abrupt, high-pitched sound.
"Kagami, you idiot-*hiccup*-you passed your hiccups to me-*hiccup*"
Kagami stared at him blankly, then gave a cheerful laugh.
"Oh man! You should see yourself in a mirror, Aomine!" He said as he wiped his tears of laughter.
"Bakagami! *hiccup* This is not funny!"
Kagami kept on laughing at Aomine, whose face was still red-either from the kiss or the embarrassment caused by the hiccups.
"Kagami-kun. Aomine-kun."
Kuroko appeared out of nowhere as usual. He stared at the two big guys with curiosity.
"Sorry I'm late. Did I miss something?"
