To the naked eye, Morgiana is just another girl, naive and young and soon to be eaten up by the world around her. She's one of those lucky slaves who were lucky enough to get a taste of freedom. To them, she is now just a laborer with bright red hair, an unusual face and blue marks on her ankles. She's the now girl who would walk behind her employer, carry his bags and never ever speak. She's not a slave but she'll still act like a slave. She'll be given less than the minimum wage and she'll soon be eaten alive by poverty.
But they don't know her. They don't know Morigana.
To everyone who knows Morigana, she is the reincarnation of strength.
Her thin little arms are strong enough to move boulders. Her long legs are strong enough to conquer dungeons. She strikes like lightning and moves like the wind. Watching her fight is like watching waves crash into the beach, natural and overwhelming. She's steady in the face of danger and she never loses her calm. She destroys to protect and she's always there to save those in danger. She'll tend to when the wounded and she'll give reassurance and courage to the afraid. She will hold up the fallen. She'll be right there until they can stand on their own. She'll never show weakness and she'll always stay strong and having her near gives anyone strength.
The warrior girl with bright red hair conquers, defeats, protects, saves, heals and breaks down every night.
So Alibaba holds Morgiana close to his chest and lets her be confused, exhausted and scared. He holds her while she lets the tears flow and while she shakes. Alibaba whispers words of encouragement into her ears and pulls her back together. He tells her she's brave and she's strong and how much they need her. He lets the girl fall into a peaceful sleep on his chest and lets her be the broken girl she's not.
Morgiana is the most alive thing in his slowly dying world and Alibaba has to protect the girl that holds his sanity together.
Alibaba only whispers "I love you" when she's not listening.
