Chapter 13: The Final Moment

Summary: In the last chapter, three things have happened. The first thing, Macaw learns that his original master, Talon, has been revived and he has went to search for the bird Greeed. The second thing, Leon finds out about his and he trailed Macaw, only to battle Talon after he found out that Talon had attacked a human. The third thing, Leon has removed his Core medals, resulting in his death, after he realized that he was acting like an Org which Toxica and Jindrax were waiting for. Will Leon be revived again?

As Leon's Core medals dropped onto the ground, Talon fell onto his knees with his hands stretched out, hoping to catch the remaining Cell medals of his brother's body. Talon was shaking and he knew it. To a Greeed, fear wasn't something they would develop. But at that moment, Talon was feeling it. It was exactly the same as love, only more...painful.

"Is...is Leon really dead?" Peacock asked with a hint of fear in her voice.

Talon hesitantly nodded and he picked up a handful Cell medals in his grip. Then, he felt his hand growing weaker with every passing second. He dropped his entire body onto the ground, frightening his Yummies at the same time.

"Master!" They cried as they ran over to Talon.

The Bird Greeed lifted his hand and stared at it. He soon noticed that it was slowly losing his colors. Cell medals started dropping out from his hand at a very slow pace. He quickly got up and spoke,"As expected from the Creator. If Leon dies, all Greeeds will also suffer the same fate. How could Leon forgot that? We have to revive him and fast. If not, all Greeeds and Yummies will vanish from the face of the Earth until somebody frees him again."

As he tried to get up, Talon fell back down on his knees and Peacock ran over to him,"Talon, there has to be somebody who's able to bring Leon back. Who can it be?"

Talon shakily picked up one of Leon's Lion medals and handed it to Macaw,"There is only one person who can. Macaw, is the princess still around?"

Macaw nodded,"Yes, master. She's still alive and well. But why do you ask?"

"That's because..." Talon started off but he suddenly gasped and he clenched his fists as Cell medals poured out of his body as his colors faded away extremely fast. Before he could complete his sentence, Talon had already became the pile of Cell meals which he once was.

Seeing this, Peacock slowly backed away from what she had saw, her master and lover, Talon, had just died in front of her. She placed her hand in front of her mouth, in hope of not screaming.

Macaw gripped onto the Lion Core medal and faced Peacock,"We have to get to the princess. Whatever master Talon was about to say, it involves the princess. And maybe Jaguar would know how to reverse this."

Peacock was still in a state of shock but she was able to give her answer in a physical way. She shook her head as she slumped to the ground, landing with a thump."I...I won't...leave him. I won't leave Talon here like this. I...I just can't!"

As she felt tears appearing at her eyes, Macaw placed a hand on her shoulder,"It's all right then. I can go to the princess myself. You can stay here. I'll be sure to revive Leon again. I swear it on behalf of my loyalty to Talon and Leon!" Without another word, Macaw turned and flew out of the temple, leaving Peacock with the pile of medals belonging to her lover and his brother. Then, she collapsed.

Back on the Animarium, the Shark Yummies slowly suffered the same fate as the Greeeds as they disappeared one by one and reappearing as Cell medals. This shocked the Rangers as they tried to find the princess for an explanation.

"Princess! We need to speak with you right now! It's important!" Taylor cried out worriedly as the Yummies slowly died at a time.

Not long after Taylor's cries, princess Shayla emerged from the fountain and she gasped at the sight of the Cell medals all around the temple."W-what is happening here? What has happened to the Yummies?!"

"That's the problem, princess! They're suddenly dying!" Alysaa cried.

As if on cue, a Shark Yummy fell flat on its face as it slowly turned to Cell medals.

Princess Shayla's eyes widen,"Oh no. How could this have happen? Why now?"

"What's happening to them, princess? Tell us." Cole replied.

The princess slowly breathed as she tried to calm herself down. She placed her hands together and clenched them as she slowly spoke,"This...this is what I would call the 'Final Moment'."

"What is that, princess?" Alysaa asked.

"It's...it's what happens whenever Leon...dies."

Hearing that, the Rangers were shocked. They continued to look around as the remaining Yummies present in the room vanished from their sights. To the Rangers, it was a new and frightening experience considering that they have never seen the Greeeds and Yummies before. But for Shayla, it was another heartbreaking moment for her. In the past, this was explained by Leon that if he were to die, all Greeeds and Yummies will die as well. It was in their nature to obey that rule even if they dare not to. Shayla was just as shock as the Rangers too since she has heard of it but never witness it. But now, she was and it isn't a pretty sight to see.

Then, Jaguar stumbled into the temple with her Cell medals escaping her body as she slowly faded from existence.

Shayla ran up to the Yummy and anxiety filled her body as Jaguar collapsed onto her arms as she whispered,"Shayla...the...bond...must...fulfill..." Before she could continue, Jaguar simply went silent as her body became a pile of Cell medals.

The Rangers quickly ran over to her side and the thee of them stared at the pile of medals in Shayla's hands. Her body shook furiously as she went numb and fell into Alysaa's arms."Princess! Are you all right?!"

In the town of Turtle Cove, Mantis and Hopper were observing the streets, hoping to find another human filled with desires that was ready to burst free.

"Found one yet?" Mantis asked.

Hopper shook his head,"We've been here for nearly three hours and not a single human we've seen so far are at the same standard as Dave. I'm telling you, humans are too obsessed with work and family nowadays. Why can't they just be carefree and full of desires like in the past? That time was a lot easier."

"Now you know how I fell." Mantis calmly stated as he slapped Hopper's back with a hand.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't Mantis and my first creation." The two Yummies turned to see Dave walking up to them with a smile on his face and a Cell medal in his grip. In his other hand, he was holding onto something but it was concealed as he was hiding it behind his back.

Mantis was the first to reply,"Dave, how has you new 'job' been so far?"

Dave shrugged,"Oh it's been fun lately. I'm kinda happy that I met you, Mantis. If it wasn't for you, I would still be stuck serving that no good credit taker, Daniel."

"My pleasure." Mantis replied with a bow before turning back to face the streets.

"So, what are you doing now?" Dave asked.

"Finding more humans to 'hire'." Mantis replied as he fiddled around with a Cell medal in his hand.

Dave smiled,"Ah! Just as I expected. Because today, I've met an old colleague of mine from my old job. He told me since Daniel's death was announced, the entire company was disbanded and he wants to get a new job."

"What does that have to do with us?" Hopper asked.

"Easy." Dave replied."You two are monsters made from the desires of men, right? So why not have my friend work for you? Ever since I knew that guy, he has been showing a lot of hard work in his job. He told me that he has desires for a greater power and that he wants to achieve it through his job as a scientist. But since the company went down, he has lost his job and everything he has done. I'm telling ya, this guy's going to be a great help!"

Mantis chuckled,"Sounds interesting. Could that be him down there?" He pointed over to a man walking on the streets and Dave nodded."Quite a coincidence too. He happened to come out from your so called subway station and that's when I saw the amount of desires within him. He seems like a perfect candidate for a servant to Leon."

Before Mantis could make any other movement, he and Hopper collapsed onto the floor and Dave ran over to them.

"Guys! What's happening to you two?"

Hopper instantly knew what was going on and he quickly spoke,"Master Leon...he's...no longer with us...he's dead!" Before Dave could say anything or react, both the Yummies turned to Cell medals.

Dave stared at the scene before him. He stumbled back and fell on his back."No...it can't be...the one boss that I enjoy working for is...dead? It's not possible! It can't be possible!" He stared down at the object in his hand and grip it tighter as he picked up a few Cell medals."I will never forgive whoever did this to Leon. I will find that killer!"

"Princess, what do we do now? How are we going to fix this?" Taylor asked.

The princess gripped tightly onto one of Jaguar's Cell medals and tears poured from her eyes,"I don't know! I have no idea what I am suppose to do now! All Leon has ever told me about this was that nothing could prevent it from being reversed unless I...I..."

"What is it, princess?" Cole asked.

"The only way for this to be reversed, I...I have to become a...Greeed."
