Celeste opened her eyes, and groaned in pain. God, this hurts a lot. She saw a shadow cover her head and saw Doctor Chakwas looking down at her, her brown eyes sparkle as she moved her Omni-tool over Celeste body.
"You're awake Lieutenant. That's good." Chakwas said softly, looking at the reading on Omni-tool.
Celeste shifted in her bed and tried to get up, she felt dizzy as she did so. She could feel painful sensation on her back, and could help but grimace in pain and discomfort.
"Am I going to live doc?" She asked, looking over Chakwas as she went behind her to look at her back.
"You will have slight scaring on your back, but everything ells is in good condition. Next time please do not play with rockets." Chakwas gently rubbed the scaring with Medi-gel to numb the pain.
Celeste gave a wry laugh. Scaring is not a problem. I'm alive and that's good.
Celeste winced at the soothing feeling over her back. "Is Commander okay?"
Chakwas looked up into her tired grey eyes and smiled. "Yes she is fine and all thanks to you."
Celeste smiled, trying to get up, slowly and carefully. "I'm just glad to be of help. When can I leave doc?" She slowly turned her head in Chakwas direction.
Chakwas sighed and looked at her omni-tool. "You can leave, but you're not up for duty until your back is healed. I already notify the Commander. So get some bed rest and come up here if you feel any pain."
Celeste nodded her head. "Noted." With careful steps she slowly walked out of the medbey.
Normandy: night cycle.
XO Quarters: Lieutenant Celeste O'lary
Audio log
I have been assigned to new ship, Normandy, a new mission to catch a rogue Spectre Saren. Who's Shepard think work for the Reapers.
And it seems GETH are fallowing him, which means he probably has a GETH army on his back. Right now we're managing, but who knows what will happen next.
Right now, I'm on the light duty, more like a paperwork duty. Doc said I won't be on active duty for a while until my back heals, but that fine by me, it give me time to read those files and check thing up on my end.
Commander Shepard is not what I thought she would be, she is much more, I didn't really know what to think of her. I knew she is a leader though her bones and no one can change that.
There is also Alenko, who seems to have a crush on our Commander, which is not a good thing, romance is distraction, he is a soldier, not a school boy, and he is a good biotic and has a good record. About his thing for Shepard, someone needs to remind him about the rules. Maybe I should talk with Shepard.
There is also a bounty hunter Wrex, a blood thirsty Krogan, damn, he remind me of that Krogan who I once head-butted when I was drunk, my head felt like I smacked into a brick wall. My poor brain…
Having Wrex on the team is a bonus, not only he is a killing machine but also a biotic, not many of those around. He is a battle Master and he is old, though he has his own issues with genofage. Well, if it was done to humans I probably would hate everyone too. Probably want to kill the one who did it. Just to imagine it…make me sick.
There is also C-sec officer Vacarian, a Turian, who seems read my dossier, about Torfan. Asked me about it, didn't like it, called me a murderer, a Butcher, well, I did get the name, but it wasn't by my choice, I did what I had to do, and I paid the price. I lost my friend that day too. Anyway, he is a by book kind of guy, a good sniper, seem like he has problem with injustice.
Can't say we get will ever be friend with his attitude.
There is also a Tali who we saved on Citadel, she is a tech specialist, has a good head on her shoulders, maybe a little naïve, I wonder how old is she? She on her Pilgrimage; so probably young. But she can stand on her own two feet that's good.
We also got a new member, by the name of Doctor Liara T'soni a protean archeologist I think. An Asari. Biotic, young, it said her Mother working for Saren, and who want the doc, so she probably, no I'm sure she will stay on this ship. With so many Aliens, Ashley will have a feat? Ha!
Speaking of Ashley, she come from a military family, a soldier, he squad died on Eden Prime, who was first colony attacked by GETH. She is strong willed woman, has a nice personality, sweet in her own way. Have issues with aliens, poor Ash. Can't help but be intrigued by her.
I'm sure I and Ash can get along just fine, anyway this mission probably will be a long one; let's hope we will survive it. Because if we don't…It will be a heavy price we will have to pay.
Like we; always do.
Celeste out.
Celeste sat on her bed, reading an old book, since she was out of active duty, she might get some rest and read for a little while, she know that sleep won't come to her this night, her nightmares and the pain in her back bother her, so she need to get her mind of them.
She could have gone to Cargo hold and work on her baby wing, but she wasn't in the mood.
She looked up as she heard knocking on her door.
"It's open" Celeste called out. Watching as Shepard slowly walked in, looking around the room, before her attention turned on her.
Celeste softly closed the book and laid it down on the bed while slowly sitting up. "Shepard, can I help you?"
Shepard stayed silent, only watching her, carefully, her gaze coming into her back, her eyes showing concern.
Celeste saw where she was looking, her face natural, and her mask in place. "I'm alright Commander, its just a scratch."
Shepard locked gaze with icy-gray eyes of Celeste. "A scratch don't lead to scaring LT" she said softly.
Celeste nodded her head, her face unreadable. "I know. It's not your fault. I know what would happen when I pushed you out of the way. Most of the attack got my barrier, so I'm fine."
Shepard walked closer and sat herself down on one of the sit in Celeste room. "You didn't have to do that. I could have taken it. I don't want to lose one of my squad mates."
Celeste sighed and scratched her head, slight pain shot though her back but she didn't show it. "I made that choice amice, so don't worry, I'm still alive and kicking."
Shepard raised and eyebrow at new word she used. "What is 'amice'?"
Celeste smiled a mystery smile "It's Latin. It's a Word for a 'friend.'"
Shepard chuckled "You know Latin?"
Celeste smirked and said in Latin "Ego quidem, amice"
Shepard didn't understand what she said but shook her head. "Okay, I get it. We are going to Feros next, I'm going to take Ash and Wrex with me, I want you to find out anything on ExoGeni. Oh and can you send report to Fifth fleet? I forgot to do it." Shepard scratched her head.
Celeste rolled her eyes "Please abuse me with paperwork while I'm of duty. Go right ahead…"
Shepard smiled "Great, You're a life saver O'lary," With that she walked out of the room, while Celeste watched her with her eyebrow twitching.
"That was sarcasm…" She looked at the slack of paperwork on her table, then back at the door. Then she turned back to her desk and glared at the paperwork, which still lay there calmly, "This is your entire fault." The paperwork lay unmoving, silent. Celeste glared harder, "I hate you…"
Celeste was sleeping on her desk, her head resting on her arms, the paperwork was all done and sitting on the left side of her desk, a sudden noise from her omni-tool woke her up which start.
Celeste yawned and pulled her arms up and her back come up with 'pop' of bones from sleeping in strange setting.
She scratched her neck, as she left her room and went to get something to eat, the mass hall was almost empty, only Kaidan was on his usual working place.
Celeste looked around seems like Shep already out there, saving life's. Celeste took her coffee and walked out of mass hall, she drunk her coffee inside the elevator, while it took her down to the cargo hold.
Someone really needs to repair this elevator, when the doors opened she saw Garrus working on her wing, something in her snapped. She dropped her coffee and marched inside the Cargo Hold.
"What the hell Are you doing?!"
