TAK

Tak entered her personal chambers with a long, tired but content sigh. The doors slid close and with a few steps, she reached her comfiest chair. Falling in it, she groaned in comfort.

The sound of clicking footsteps announced the arrival of her assistant. Tenn came in to sight, smiling to her leader.

''Welcome back, miss!'' She clicked, nodding respectfully.

Tak wasted no time, lifting her right foot in Tenn's direction. Her assistant immediately understood her intentions as she grabbed Tak's boots. With a firm jerk, the expensive, purple heels came off. Tak groaned again.

''Thanks, Tenn. How was your day?''

''Oh, just the usual.'' Tenn shrugged it off, storing the boots away safely.

''Paperwork and more paperwork.'' Tenn laughed, as she moved to the luxurious kitchen.

''The chefs have prepared a mean Vortian Steak-Breast-Roll tonight.''

''Just something fresh to drink will do for now, thanks!'' Tak replied.

Mimi hopped on her lap. The fake cat spun around a few times, laid down and got comfortable. Tak's hand moved to pet her automatically.

Tenn arrived with her drink and she took it gratefully. Her assistant smiled again.

''Anything else I can do?''

''No thanks, I just need to make a quick call.''

Tenn immediately moved over to the control pad of the massive screen in front of them. Her hands flew over the device to start up the long distance dialing process.

''Where to, miss?''

''It's to Zim.''

Tenn nodded, Zim's PAK number was familiar to the computer. The call started, and Tenn left to grant her leader some privacy.

Tak waited calmly for Zim to pick up, stroking Mimi with one hand and holding her drink in the other. She hoped he was still awake, she hadn't bothered to check what time it is on earth. She couldn't really remember at what times humans sleep, anyway.

And then, Zim picked up.

He was standing outside, in some pretty, wooden gazebo. The little hut was decorated extensively with red and pink earth flowers, the garden surrounding it also looked beautiful. It was nighttime, but a couple of cozy lights made Zim easily visible. He himself was dressed in a weird, human outfit: A suit called a ''tuxedo'' which was hot pink, with a small, white bow around his neck.

Tak burst out in laughter.

''You look ridiculous!'' She yelled, pointing at the screen while shaking her head.

Zim sighed frustrated and rolled his eyes, allowing Tak to laugh for a few seconds.

''Yes, yes, I know. Males are required to wear this attire. You think it looks bad now, you should've seen it before I adjusted it. At least it's the right color now.''

Tak settled down. Scratching Mimi between her ears, she sipped her drink, and continued the conversation amused.

''So, how has today been?'' She asked.

''Awful.'' Was the immediate response. Tak smiled at the familiar, grumpy tone in his voice.

Zim continued:

''It's just the worst. This ''wedding'' is such an absurd, useless human tradition. As if we need this stupid party to prove to other humans we love each other.''

Zim shook his head and Tak sipped her drink, not taking her eyes off him. It was such a nice change of atmosphere to talk to her friend during the busy life as a Tallest.

''But yeah…'' Zim sighed,

''It's important to him so, you know…''

Speaking of the devil, Dib suddenly emerged, grabbing Zim from behind in a wide movement. Two happy, shining hazel eyes stared at Tak, accompanied by a beaming smile.

''Who are you talking t- Tak!'' Dib shouted happily. He was dressed in more regular, navy blue suit. The pink rose on his chest, matching Zim's tux, was a nice touch (admittedly).

''Greetings, human Dib.'' Tak spoke, but her words weren't really heard. She watched as the two boys wrestled on the screen, Zim seemingly upset at being startled like that.

''Get the f- What are you doing here?!'' Zim hissed,

''The stupid guests keep following you around everywhere, they can't find me talking to her!''

''Relax, little bug.'' Dib chuckled, pushing his spouse away with one hand, which was big enough in comparison to cover Zim's entire face.

''One of dad's Wedding Dancing Robots has exploded, I think they'll be occupied for a while.''

Tak chuckled at the nonchalance in the human's voice, while said human turned to her.

''Tak!'' Dib shouted,

''Why the hell are you not here in person, you bitch? I thought you were our friend!''

''You really want to call the most powerful person in your milky way a bitch?'' Tak asked, raising an eyebrow.

Zim laughed. ''He's had a lot of champagne.''

''Anyway,'' Tak started, getting interrupted by a loud ''I HAVE NOT'' from Dib.

''Anyway, I would have loved to attend your silly little human tradition, but I've been kind of busy with oh- you know, ruling the Irken Empire.''

''Bullshit excuse.'' Dib complained. Zim pulled on his tie.

''Shut up, Dib. You're embarrassing me.''

''You think I'm embarrassing now?! You haven't even heard what I want for my wedding gift yet!''

Dib turned to Tak before Zim could intervene.

''Tak, I was wondering, if you ever find yourself close to earth, maybe we could you know… Mix it up?''

''Mix it up?'' Tak asked, tilting her head. Zim apparently didn't understand where Dib was going, with this either, freezing with Dib's tie still in his hand. Dib was beaming at the attention, the champagne and sheer happiness coloring his ears red.

''Well,'' He said, ''I was thinking maybe… A threesome would be pretty ra-''

At that point, Zim attacked him with an explosion of loud swears and clicks. Tak sat perplexed, blinking sheepishly.

''W-what is a threesome?'' She asked, but they were too busy to answer her. Tak had the suspicion Zim wouldn't let Dib answer that, anyway.

Tak watched them tussle for a few seconds. It was obviously harmless; Tak knew Zim could do some real damage if he wanted to, but instead he just slammed his fists down on his husband's chest. Dib mostly just laughed.

When Zim finally calmed down, he had ended up in the human's long arms, lifting him a few inches from the ground. Zim still looked grumpy, but allowed Dib to kiss him on his freckled cheek.

When Zim was back on his feet, Tak grabbed his attention.

''Oh, Zim! There was this one thing I wanted to mention.''

Both the newlyweds now looked up.

''Do you remember that huge, important planet we've been invading? The one with all the resources and potential slaves and all?''

''Yeah,'' Zim responded. ''You said it would probably become a significant asset to the empire, why? Did you succeed?''

Tak nodded proudly.

''They surrendered today! And it's even more resourceful and useful than we thought!''

Zim smiled and nodded. Dib had lost interest, playing with Zim's bow tie with a content smirk.

''That's great, Tak!'' Zim said.

Tak then took a breath of air and straightened her back.

''I ehm... Renamed the planet.''

Zim's smile faded into a questioning expression. Tallest rarely rename new planets or territories; it's too much work to do them all.

''Yeah I…'' Tak continued,

''I changed it to Planet Skoodge.''

Dib looked back up and both of them looked surprised for a second. Then, almost simultaneously, two warm smiles appeared. They made eye contact for a second.

They didn't comment on the decision. There was no need to.

Suddenly, the sound of music emerged from the background, as if a door had been opened. Zim and Dib both looked in the direction of it and Tak heard someone yelling something.

''Yeah, we'll be right there!'' Dib shouted back. The music stopped, and the boys looked back at Tak.

''We uh, are needed for a dance.'' Dib shrugged, smiling. Zim groaned.

''Another one!? When will you humans be satisfied?''

''Naww, come on! But you're so good at it!'' Dib whined. He took hold of his husband, one hand on his hip, the other holding Zim's gloved hand.

''Here, we'll practice a little.'' Dib started swaying around lightly, as if to dance to the vague, soft music in the background.

With a sigh, Zim plopped his head on Dib's chest. He allowed for Dib to move him around reluctantly, but Tak saw a warm, loving smile appear on his green face nevertheless. He hugged his human a little tighter, determined to never let go. Dib rested his cheek on top of Zim's head. The two husbands rocked back and forth in each other's arms, and even to an irken like Tak, the intense love between the two was touching.

Not that she'd show a sign of that, of course.

''Right.'' Tak said sternly.

''Alright, have fun at your human wedding thing, Zim. I have to run.''

Zim opened his eyes to look at her and raised a finger as a goodbye. Tak watched the couple sway around for a few more seconds before she ended the call.

The bright light disappeared and her room was dimly lit again. Tak took her cup and spun the chair around so it faced her massive window, overlooking the beautiful galaxies.

She swayed one of her legs over the other and got comfortable. Raising her cup to her lips, she closed her eyes, and smiled peacefully.

THE END

OOH MY GOD IT'S DONE. IT'S HERE. I FINISHED IT. It took me almost four years, but I finished it. I am absolutely perplexed.

And of course, here it comes: Thank you all so, so, so, soooo much. I am extremely grateful to all of you for making this happen. All of you reading and commenting on this have pushed me to finish it, and I'm so thankful. I really hope you loved it, and I hope you're satisfied with this ending.

If anyone's interested, I would love to answer some questions or discuss my fic! Send me a message with your skype or tumblr, I'm always up to chat! Even if you don't feel like chatting, now that the fic is finished, I would love to hear all of your honest critiques. What did you like? What could use some work? Don't hold back, I'm here to learn!

Once again, thank you all for accompanying me on this ride. I might alter some particular parts I dislike, but other than that, I'm afraid this is it. I don't think there will be a sequel, mostly because I am not really in the Invader Zim fandom anymore. But please, reach out to me with your questions, ideas or just to discuss!

Thank you and godbless you all!

Love, Doodlett
