Hey guys,
Sorry I've been very inactive lately. I've just been completely stuck on story ideas and school's been getting in the way of a lot of things. Anyway, I was able to write this from a picture I saw on Deviantart. So, I hope you enjoy! :D

Mordecai sat with his back against a tall oak tree on a hill, his sketch book in hand with a yellow pencil in the other. He sighed in content at the sun shining down on him, warming him from head to toe and taking in the silence that surrounded the tall blue jay. He opened his sketch book and flipped through the pages till he came to a blank page, clear and crisp, free for a drawing.
Mordecai tapped his pencil against the paper, musing over what to draw. He rolled through the usual; from flowers to butterflies, even considering sketching out the tree he was laying against, but nothing seemed good enough to draw. Besides, he wanted to do something fresh and new. Something that no one drew on a regular basis...
Mordecai thought long and hard about what he would place on the clean sheet of paper in front of him when a moving figure caught his eye and he shifted so he was looking properly at what was in front of him just a few metres away.
It was Benson. The gumball machine was walking while staring at his clipboard and flipping through the pages as he ticked off in his mind what was done and what needed to be done at the park in the next couple of days. Mordecai watched him in plain curiousity, forgetting entirely about the drawing thing, as his boss slowed his pace when a faint meow caught his attention and his clipboard was lowered to his chest to see what was in front of him.
A small ginger kitten with big green eyes was looking at the gumball machine in bright wonder and it seemed to be smiling at him, if cats could smile. At seeing the feline, Bensons expression softened and, making sure no one was around beforehand, knelt down with his clipboard now by his side, and patted the kittens head, the animal purring and nudging it's head against the gumball machines hand. Benson was taken by surprise at how friendly the kitten was but nonetheless, he placed his clipboard on the ground and began to stroke it, the tiniest of smiles coming across Bensons lips till it split into a genuine one when the kitten rolled on its back, its green eyes gazing up at the gumball machine.
The blue jay on the hill watched the entire thing, noticing Bensons actions towards the feline and feeling a sudden soft spot for his boss at seeing his innocence that shone through the green eyed kitten. He smiled with a half lidded gaze and from his peripheral vision, and as if he'd forgotten completely, he saw the sketchbook and it hit him with exactly of what he would draw.
Mordecai placed the pencil on paper and with his tounge sticking out in concentration, he sketched Benson petting a kitten, getting all the details in as his eyes darted from the scene in front of him then back to the drawing.
Benson soon petted the kitten goodbye and set off back to the Park House as the sun was beginning to set. Mordecai, too engrossed in his sketch, looked up once he'd finished and was surprised to see his boss'd disappeared. Tucking his book under his arm once he'd seen the streaks of purple, orange and yellow, the blue jay stood and raced down the hill, taking the 5 minute walk back to the Park House but not before patting the kitten himself with a light smile as a thank you.
