The consulting detective dashed into the morgue with only his nighties on, startling the pathologist who was well immersed in her work not too long ago.

Sherlock stopped a few feet away, looking at the dead body Molly's been examining. Taking a few steps forward, he cleared his throat before gathering his thoughts.

He was so sure that he had thought of everything he was supposed to say and yet, why did his mind go blank? He snickered to himself, he already knew the answer to that. It was one of the "side effects" of his new found feelings and rather than shoving it away like all those years he did, he tried to perform experiments. Experiments that needed field work and research. One he was reluctant yet excited about.

"Molly." He found his voice, "I have come to the conclusion that I am madly and utterly in love with you."

Of course, he was expecting a warm hug of happiness, but instead she only laughed.

"Why are you laughing? You shouldn't be laughing, you're supposed to cry out of glee and initiate close body contact." Sherlock said a matter of factly.

"Oh Sherlock." Molly said between giggles, "I know, it was quite obvious when you kissed me repeatedly last Friday."

"That- That was for research."

"The dates? The warm embraces?"

"Yes, of course."

"Then again, you're Sherlock Holmes. The man I fell in love with, who happens to reciprocate my feelings, as well." Molly gave a warm smile, before shyly wrapping her arms around his torso.

"Mmm, I found out that sentiment brings great benefits." Sherlock hugged her back, "Take that as a compliment, Molly Hooper."

"I did." She said smiling brightly at him, Sherlock closed their gap as he leaned in to give her a chaste kiss.
