Tris POV

Chapter 1:

The high pitched ringing sound of my alarm wakes me up. Tobias is still asleep, the alarm never seems to wake him up, with his arm draped across my waist. I try to move stealthily out of his arms, careful not to wake him. My attempt is absolutely horrible. I go to lean out to stop my alarm, but Tobias tightens his grip on my waist and rolls me back into bed.

"Tobias, we have to get up the initiates are coming today," I say trying to stifle a laugh. He is the laziest boy in the world. It seems that the only time he acts his age is when he won't get up in the morning. I seem to be the only one who treats him like a teenager, even though he is only nineteen.

"Uh!" he groans. Last night we were partying with all our friends in celebration of the upcoming initiation. Normally on days where we were out all night, we would sleep until at least one, but the initiates weren't exactly going to wait for us to get off our lazy butts and train them.

"I'm getting in the shower, you better be out of bed by the time I get back," I say squirming out of his grasp. He groans again at my absence, but replaces where my body was with a pillow.

A year ago all I was, was a small abnegation girl trying to survive initiation. Now I am a Dauntless member and a prodigy in the leader's eyes. I came from a place where no one seemed to care or respect me to the one place that makes me feel that I am not only accepted but welcomed.

Today is the choosing ceremony. I'll be training the transfer initiates with Tobias, or as the rest of the world knows him, Four. I work as a tattoo artist, but when this time of year comes around I take off time to train the initiates. I guess I should say I am going to take time off since this is my first time doing anything like this.

I grab a short, thick towel and head into the bathroom. The hot water flows over my back and neck, releasing any tension there. I focus on my breathing and force my attention to the butterflies in my stomach. I don't typically get nervous, but today is the day that I've been waiting for.

I want to stay in the shower, but I know that if I do it'll leave Tobias no time to take one of his own. I slowly ease the water off, trying to savor the heated feeling. My hand automatically reaches around the curtain to the towel bar. All I feel is the cold, smooth feeling of an empty metal towel bar. Tobias. I am going to kill him! Damn it, I forgot to lock the stupid door.

"Tobias!" I hear him burst out laughing. I can't decide if I'm angry or amused that he had the nerve to take my towel! "Tobias Eaton! Get me a towel now!" He laughs even harder now, and I can tell he isn't going to give in easily.

"Why don't you come out here and get it?" He asks me clearly trying to get a rise out of me.

"Your wish is my command!" I yell before swinging the door open. If he wants to see me naked, than he could. I wasn't ready to sleep with him, but we had been together for almost a full year and he had seen me dress in front of him anyway.

The look on his face was hilarious. I wish I had a camera to capture the perfection that was a shocked Tobias. A smirk finds it's way onto my face, but he can't see that since he isn't looking at my face. I strut over to him and grab my towel.

"Thank you for holding my towel, and you're right, air drying is much more..." what is the right word for it? Oh right, "satisfying."

"Satisfying for both of us! Damn, are you trying to get me to lose all of my self control?" Tobias asks me. I wink at him and start to slip on my black lace undergarments.

"Well of course Mr. Eaton. I would do anything to see your wild side."

I decided last night that I would wear a short, leather dress that shows off my curves. And yes I have curves. Over the last year I have grown so I am about at Tobias' shoulder and actually fill everything I wear out. I am still skinny, but I'm not scrawny. The dress shows off my cleavage that has been the biggest change from last year. I want to look scary, yet sexy like a true dauntless should, so I stand out to the initiates. I line my eyes with black eyeliner and cover my lashes in a thick coat of mascara. After I finish my makeup I curl my hair with a styling wand.

I look like a true member of dauntless! I step towards the door, but remember that Tobias has to come with me. I turn and see a glaring Tobias. Why does he look so mad? He never gets mad at me! "Why do you look like you're going to kill me?" I ask with a huff.

"I wouldn't kill you. But I will kill every guy in the Pit when they stare at you. Lauren never dressed all hot like you! This isn't fair! None of the male initiates will survive me when they check you out!" He says in a rush.

"Then kill them. That's your right as my boyfriend. Just leave one, because I'll need a cute one to use as my side man."

"Not funny Tris!" Tobias yells after me. I walk out the door with the biggest smirk on my face.
