BRIEF INTERLUDE

Only because the show ends this weekend and as much as I had dreams of finishing this before GoT ended (much like GRRM, I'm sure), it ain't happening. I've been pecking away at this story for years and there's still A LOT to come.

The show is the show, and if you've read my story this far, you know I'm not using it as a template. However, in the event that things go even more sideways on that wacky HBO rollercoaster, I wanted to give a couple hints of where this story is headed so you can make the choice as a reader to go, "Yeah, I may want to read about that someday." Or, "Nah. I'm out."

All that said, I do plan to have a couple more chapters up before the end of this month. And thank you, all of you, who have read this over the years. There is more to come. And I may even beat GRRM to an ending.

Characters:

Y'all, there are gonna be SO MANY more characters coming into this story. My Winterfell reunion is gonna be like the house party you invite fifteen friends to and somehow eighty people show up. That is a thing that's been making my brain explode for like the last three years.

We're not staying with the Winterfell crew forever, mind you. Without giving too much away, let's just say there will be some necessary travel to other parts of the realm. That may include a place where a young lord-to-be who has yet to make his formal appearance in the books does more than tend to roses…

Stannis is not Azor Ahai. Or the Prince That Was Promised. Or gonna be king.

Nor is he gonna burn his daughter, because fuck that bullshit.

Mance Rayder will get out of his cage.

So will Roose Bolton.

Hopefully neither will be in ways you expect.

R + L = J. That was always gonna be a thing.

Things that, like winter, are coming:

Character deaths are coming.

Battles are coming.

Dragons are coming.

Unicorns and cannibals are coming.

Stoneheart is coming.

The army of the dead is, eventually, coming.

"The End"

I will be honest that I'm not 100% on the final ending yet. But I do know it's slim odds that in the end there will be an Iron Throne. It's even slimmer odds that Daenerys will show up and burn King's Landing to the ground (there's actually no odds on that - it's not happening).

I'm not anything else away in regards to the end, and who ends up where, and who's still around. Some of it I'm still sorting out and the rest of it, well. You can wait and read when it's ready.
