AN: I'm sorry this update is so late. I actually lost all of my work when my one year old spilled Gatorade all over my computer. It is a bit depressing to be working on this when I had this chapter finished once already. Please enjoy this chapter and be patient as I work on re-writing the updates for the other stories as well.

Secret Jealousies Ch 8

Lucy slammed the door to her apartment behind her and threw her bags across the room. Tears streamed down her cheeks, and she could hardly breathe. How could he do that to her?!

It wasn't even like he was trying to keep it a secret. He had made eye contact with her and smirked! He knew she saw! He wanted her to see!

And Juvia! She seemed to happy just to be out with him. Why in the world would he do that to her? To both of them?

In a fit of rage and pain, Lucy stormed across the room and picked up the lamp from her writing desk. Then she froze with it in the air. What was she doing? She couldn't break it. She had worked hard for the money that she used to buy it with. She hiccupped and cried harder.

"Princess." A pair of strong arms wrapped themselves around her body and gently pried the lamp from her grasp. Lucy spun around and buried her face in the chest of her loyal Lion Spirit. Loke placed the lamp on the desk and petted Lucy's hair while she wept. "Don't cry, Princess."

Lucy looked up into Loke's golden orbs. For once he wasn't wearing his sunglasses.

"W-what do I do, Loke?" She felt like her nose was about to run from all that crying, and tried to sniff it back in. She didn't want Loke to see that.

"Well, you could always choose to be with me. You know I would never treat you that way." He said this in the most serious manner possible as he pulled out a handkerchief from his pocket and offered it to her.

She took the proffered tissue and blew her nose gently. "I-I'm serious." Instead of handing the soiled rag back to him, she tossed it across the room. It came from the Celestial World, and probably had some pretty cool properties.

"Lucy, I suggest that you talk to him about it." She began to shake her head, but Loke continued talking. "Tell him that behavior is unacceptable. You will have to make the decision for yourself if you are going to stay with him or move on."

"We aren't even technically dating," she grumbled. "It's not like he really did anything wrong."

"Yes, but if he wants your affections, then he needs to know that he can't be leading Juvia on as well."

Lucy nodded, but wondered how Loke knew all that had happened. She had a sneaking suspicion that her spirits watched her. Her face grew red. What if they watched her in the shower?!

"He is here now, Lucy." Lucy jerked from her musings at the sound of someone knocking on her door. "Just call me if you need me." Loke disappeared in a shower of golden sparkles.

Lucy quickly wiped the tears from her face with the edge of her shirt. She knew she looked like hell, but she didn't care. She had decided that she was going on that date with Laxus and telling Gray to shove it.

She paced to the door and took a deep breath. Just as she was reaching her hand out to open the door, it flung inwards. Gray stood there with a smug look on his face. That angered Lucy even further. He went to enter her home, but Lucy placed a hand on his chest and pushed him back. His smug look turned to one of confusion.

"No, Gray. What you did earlier was horrible." She shook her head and willed herself not to cry again as she relived the moment Juvia had placed the bracelet around his wrist. She wouldn't even look at it.

"What I did? What about you, Lucy? You were planning on going on a date with Laxus." He tried to push his way past her, but she put all her weight into keeping him out. If he really wanted to he could overpower her, but she was hoping that he wouldn't try.

"And I still am. I don't think we should see each other anymore, Gray."

"You don't think we should see each other anymore?" He looked incredibly confused. "You don't mean that, Lucy." She couldn't stand the look of hurt that crossed his features.

"Yes. I do." She pushed him back and closed the door. She slid the lock into place and leaned her head against the door. He hadn't even resisted.

She refused to let herself cry again. Instead, she picked up the bags she had thrown earlier and sorted out the cleaning supplies. She would scour every inch of her apartment before her date with Laxus that evening. Hopefully the mindless tasks would give her a chance to sort through her emotions regarding the two men.

She was hurt by Gray's actions, yet she still cared for the man. Laxus was a complete mystery to her. At first he seemed like he didn't want anything to do with her, and then out of nowhere he was asking her on a date. She really wished she could understand men better.

Laxus arrived at Lucy's doorstep that evening dressed in a pair of black slacks and a red silk dress shirt. It wasn't something he would usually wear, and he was afraid he might be over doing it a little. He wore the shirt untucked with several of the top buttons left loose. He held a bouquet of mixed flowers in his hand as he waited for her to respond to his persistent knocking. He wondered what could be taking her so long.

He admitted to himself that he was doing this to make Mira, and by extension Freed, happy. There wasn't a person alive that wanted to see Mira Jane Strauss upset. Laxus wouldn't deny that her tears bothered him. There had even been a time when he had considered making her his girl. Fortunately, for him that is, that ship had sailed and she was now Freed's problem.

He shifted his weight onto one foot and knocked on the door once more. He wondered if maybe she forgot that she was supposed to be going out with him tonight. He frowned. Perhaps she had even decided that she wasn't going and was sitting inside ignoring his knocking while waiting for him to leave.

The door suddenly creaked open to reveal a very crimson Lucy Heartfilia being pushed forward by her pink haired Celestial Spirit. She was wearing a black corset with red laces, and a pair of shorts. A pair of black boots completed the ensemble as she wasn't wearing any jewelry. Her whip and keys hung from the belt around her waist, and her hair was pulled up in a cute little bun.

The outfit made her look less girly than she usually did. He shrugged. It wasn't as if it truly mattered to him.

"Here. These are for you." He casually handed her the flowers.

"T-thank you." Her face was beet red, and she tried to go back in the house with the flowers. Laxus almost laughed as he watched the Celestial Spirit snatch the flowers away and shove her out the door once more. "I guess I'm ready then." She didn't sound very enthused.

Without another word, he shoved his hands in his pockets and took off down the road. He turned back to make sure she was following him. Of course she was, though.

He allowed himself to get lost in thought once more as he lead the unsuspecting mage away from the city. He hadn't been completely honest with himself earlier. Technically, his debt was already paid off to Mira. He had been genuinely interested in getting to know Lucy. She had certainly gotten his attention during the game at the guild. He hadn't been able to stop thinking about the way her breasts felt pressed against his own chest as her brow eyes stared into his own.

Fuck. He was totally screwed. He liked the little blond following demurely behind him. There was no denying after the scenario that flashed through his mind just now of her in his room bent over the bed and-

NO! He shook his head and growled. He was frustrating himself.

"Laxus? Um…where are we going?" Her voice seemed genuinely curious, but not worried at all. It surprised him that she trusted him like this after everything he had put her through previously. Sure, it hadn't been necessarily directed towards her, but it had affected her just the same.

"You'll see." He wasn't good at long explanations. She would just have to deal with that. He lead her further into the forest until they couldn't even see the lights from the city. He wondered how the hell she wasn't pissing her pants in fear. He liked that about her. She was brave no matter what the situation was. They walked until they came to a small path. Unless you knew what you were looking for you would miss it, even during the day.

"Watch your step." He called as he started up the path. He could hear her struggling behind him, and grinned. He wondered if she would ask for his help. After listening to her slipping and sliding behind him for a few minutes, he turned and grabbed her firmly by the hand.

"H-hey!" She called out, but she didn't pull away. He led her up the path and kept her from falling.

Once they reached the top, he pulled her in front of him. The view made her gasp in awe. From here they could see all of Magnolia with the guild shining like a beacon of hope. He could smell the tears that filled her eyes.

"It's beautiful!" He didn't say anything, but he also didn't pull his hand away from hers. He grinned to himself. He liked it that he did something that made her happy. He didn't like the emotional girl shit that caused her to cry, but he was still glad he made her happy.

He jerked at those sudden thoughts. He liked to make her happy? Since when? It was only a little while ago that he was thinking about her naked. Why all the sudden did he care about her feelings?

"Laxus?" His name falling from her lips in that gentle whispered tone caused him to glare down at her. It caused him to feel things he didn't want to feel. Things he wasn't supposed to feel. He was a Dragon Slayer, and would only be mated to one female for the rest of his life. Because of this he had made it a point to sleep with as many beautiful women as he could get his hands on. He was trying to defy his Dragon Slayer instincts. He didn't want to be tied down.

"What?" His tone was harsher than he intended. Lucy seemed to ignore it.

"Thank you for sharing this with me."

Laxus blinked his baby blue eyes down at her. She was thanking him? He smiled. This was another reason why he was starting to like her more and more. She loved the little things.

She was already staring back over the edge. Laxus studied her with nothing but the moon and stars, and the distant lights of Magnolia to see by. His Dragon Slayer abilities allowed him to see better in the dark than most.

Her flaxen hair shone like spun gold in the moonlight, and her chocolate eyes sparkled as she took in the view. It was here that Laxus had decided to become a better person so that he would someday be worthy to take the title of Guild Master from his grandfather, and it was here that he decided to make Lucy his.

Lucy practically skipped back down the path once they left. The view up there had completely changed her mood. She had completely forgotten about the fight she had with Gray earlier. In fact, she felt so overjoyed that she kept looking back at Laxus and grinning.

He walked her all the way back to her apartment in silence. Well, silence on his part. Lucy was so happy that she couldn't be quiet.

"I never knew a place like that existed. It must be the best view in all of Magnolia." She was chattering away as they approached her door.

Lucy stopped dead in her tracks as she spotted Gray leaning against the wall.

"So you actually went. I shouldn't have expected anything else from you."

"G-Gray." Her eyes widened in surprise. She thought she had made it clear that they weren't going to see each other anymore. He looked angry.

"What do you want, Ice Queen?" Lucy whipped her head back. She was surprised to hear Laxus talk to Gray like that. His hands were shoved in his pocket, but she could feel his magical power growing.

"Hah! So this is how it is? Well that's fine. You can have her. I'm with Juvia now anyways." He pushed off the wall and walked past the pair without another word.

Lucy didn't know what to think. Everything had gone from wonderful to super confusing in just a few minutes. She watched Gray walk away, but didn't try to stop him. She had had enough of his jerk attitude lately. She cared about him, and she had thought at one time that they would actually be together, but it seemed that she had been wrong.

Sure, she thought Laxus was sexy as hell and she enjoyed herself this evening, but that didn't automatically mean they were dating. In fact, she wasn't even sure if the hulking Slayer thought of anything beyond her breasts.

She watched Gray trudge away with a heaviness in her heart. She didn't understand that man at all. She glanced down and sighed. He had stripped his jacket and shirt off and left them on the ground along the way. He would figure it out and come back for them. She wasn't about to go running after him after what he had just said.

Lucy wasn't sure if she could really blame him for being upset though. Technically they hadn't been dating, and they had both seen other people. She just didn't like his reaction. He was playing with Juvia's emotions just to get back at her. At least…she thought that's what was going on.

Gray made it all the way back to his place before someone shrieked. Most citizens of Magnolia were used to his stripping habits. This person was probably just a visitor. He shrugged his shoulders and unlocked his door. He wasn't going back for his clothes. He didn't want to see Laxus again, and he certainly didn't want to see them together.

Now that he thought about it, he wasn't sure why he thought it was a good idea to try and get back at Lucy. All she did was go on a date with Laxus. He knew she wasn't the type of girl to run around kissing all the guys in Magnolia. He should have trusted her more. Instead, he let his jealousy get out of control and involved Juvia's feelings.

He stepped into his home and closed the door behind him. He was completely nude; wearing only his necklace. He had learned long ago to keep tons of clothes around since he lost a lot of his due to his stripping habit. He wouldn't miss that pair all that much.

Gray stepped across the cool tile of the floor and into the kitchen. He didn't bother turning any lights on as he grabbed a water bottle from the counter and used his magic to chill it to his liking. After draining the bottle, he tossed it in the trash and made his way through the living room towards his bedroom.

Suddenly, the light switched on. Gray lifted his hands to shield his sensitive eyes. He wasn't ready for such brightness. He was seeing spots, but he parted his fingers to try and get a look at what was going on.

He could barely make out a shape lounging on his couch. He blinked his eyes a couple more times then opened them.

"J-Juvia?!" He nearly died from blood loss at the sight before him.

Juvia lay across his couch wearing a tiny little corset done in shades of blue with nothing but ruffles holding her breasts in place. He could just make out a pair of matching blue panties between her legs. A garter belt held up a pair of blue fishnet stockings.

Her eyes were closed as she posed provocatively. Gray tried to take a step back and make a getaway, but her eyes snapped open to meet his….and then they traveled the length of his naked body.

"G-GRAY-SAMA!" She leapt to her feet revealing a pair of blue and black stilettos on her feet. That was a lot of blue.

Gray held his hands up in innocence. "Juvia, what are you doing here?"

She gave him a predatory look as she staked forwards. "Juvia has come to see Gray-sama and show him how she really feels." She held her arms out to him.

Although she was blushing, she wasn't backing down from what she wanted. He kind of liked this new side of her.

Juvia pressed her body against his and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Please, Gray-sama. Don't deny Juvia." She looked up at him with a mixture of pleading and seduction.

Gray knew at that point that he had really gotten himself into a mess.
