Here's the epilogue (really fast!). I hope it's satisfying. I know it's a quite wrap up, but as the chapter title says, I prefer quick wrap ups to really drawn out ones. So, this one is a quick wrap up. Please review and tell me what you think about the wrap. Especially tell me if you have a different opinion of how Lassie would have responded. Thank you for reading.

Wrap Ups: Quick or Drawn Out? I'll Take the Former

It had been a week since "the incident". The kidnappers had been caught and were now behind bars. Shawn had regained his memory as soon as he woke up in the hospital. He had learned from Gus, who had insisted on giving him an entire lecture's worth of information almost as soon as Shawn woke up, that he had had a case of transient global amnesia. It caused a lose of memory that could be a varying amount of time, but didn't affect your memory of people close to you. It didn't last long though, thankfully. Shawn smirked at the memory of his conversation in the hospital room with Gus.

"You realize what this means, Gus? This means I'm Dory from Finding Nemo. And you're the ornery clown fish." Shawn tilted his head and smirked, "Wow, that's a fitting comparison."

"Really Shawn? You do know that's a children's film?"

Shawn tsked and swatted with his hand, "Come on, son. I have a concussion. Give me a break."

Shawn smiled as he walked up the steps to the SBPD. Though the thought had made him laugh, he had to admit, being Dory sucked.

He made his way into the station, searching for a certain detective. Once he had woken up and thought back over what had happened, he had come to a terrifying realization. Unfortunately, part of his memory loss had included his psychic charade. He had to know if Lassie had put the pieces together, although Shawn knew he had. Mainly, he needed to find out if Lassie was going to turn him in, or if he had already.

The fact that he could walk down the hall without people staring, or arresting him, seemed like a good sign. Shawn took a deep breath as he approached Lassiter's desk. He opened his mouth, but didn't manage to get a word out before Lassiter grabbed his arm.

"Come with me," he hissed as he dragged Shawn down to the interrogation rooms. Unable to do otherwise, Shawn complied, allowing himself to be dragged down the stairs, and finally thrown into the viewing room. Shawn looked around confused. He had expected to be in the actual interrogation room. But he shrugged and sat down in a chair.

Lassiter was pacing back and forth in front of Shawn running his hand through his hair. Finally, he turned around, looked around the hallway outside the room, and shut the door. He turned back to Shawn, "Listen. I know you've probably realized what happened in that room." Here Lassiter paused.

Shawn glanced around, unsure what to do, "So, why haven't you arrested me?"

Lassiter had already opened his mouth to continue, but he froze and stared at Shawn as if that was the last he had expected Shawn to say. Maybe it was. What he had expected was for Spencer to deny it, to claim that Lassiter was wrong. That he, Shawn Spencer, was psychic. That there was a perfectly reasonable, or more likely unreasonable, explanation as to why he had forgotten that little fact. But he hadn't expected this. Still, managed to collect himself and respond, "Because, as much as it kills me to say, you have done adequate, at times good, work for the department." Lassiter's brow furrowed as he spoke, "You being arrested would bring into question a lot of the cases you've solved, which could result in a lot of bad criminals being back out on the streets."

Shawn smiled, "So, you're letting me go? Aw, I knew you like me, Lassie."

Lassiter pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. He pointed his finger at Shawn, "Just know, if ever a reason comes up, I got a confession from you. It may not be recorded, but I know. So, you had better watch it Spencer."

Shawn raised his hands in surrender, "I got it Lassie."

Lassiter nodded and turned to go.

"Lassiter."

He froze in the doorway and slowly turned back to Shawn. Shawn grinned at him, "Thanks."

Lassiter just nodded before walking out the door.
