Hermione's cries sounded through the entire castle, but no one noticed that she was crying because of her fallen lover. As her cries were heard a circle of pure blinding light surrounded her and Severus's bodies and the inferi were thrown violently away from the staff and students of Hogwarts. Hermione was devastated. She saw her beloved one, her lover Severus who took the entire force of the killing curse to his chest just to protect her.

The only thing that came to Hermione's mind was revenge. She saw Severus, the only person that she learned to love, die for her laying lifelessly in her arms and let a few tears of pain, sadness, and rage fall to his pale lifeless face. She tenderly laid Severus's head on the ground before slowly getting to her feet and walking passed her stunned professors and fellow students with a gentle breeze moving her robes and hair lightly.

She stopped between her allies and the opposing force, with the wind now whipping her hair and robes around her more and more wildly. "What have you done you bitch!" Shouted Hermione in rage as she called upon the element of fire and wind as the flame of rage flowed through her body.

Before anyone could blink she released the energy of the fire and wind that surrounded her and in an instant all of the inferi were incinerated to nothing more than ashes with a flick of her wrist. "Leave my friends out of this, your fight is with me, or are you too much of a cowardly bitch to fight me one on one?" Snarled Hermione as she drew her wand.

"You really think that you are powerful enough to take me on by yourself? Your lover wasn't strong enough to beat me, but if you wish to handle things this way, I'll be pleased to kill you in front of your friends," said the Black Annis with a cackle of joy.

Hermione took one last look at her beloved Severus and the bodies of the fallen ones, as she gathered strength from the elements, earth, fire, wind, and water flying around her making her glow with white light.

She looked at the old disgusting witch with all of her hate and managed to raise her wand and cast an Avada Kedavra at her releasing the power of the focused elements at the witch as she did so. Unfortunately the witch answered with the same curse.

Their fight lasted couple of minutes until Hermione's curse managed to overcome the Black Annis's curse. As the combined energy of the killing curse combined with the powers of the elements hit her, the Black Annis turned into ashes and Hermione fall to her knees with loud cry.

"It hurt's so much, I wish that I could be dead now," she thought before she blacked out and her only wish was to join her beloved Severus in the afterlife…

An hour later she could hear voices calling to her. "Hermione?"

"Please 'Mione wake up."

"Honey we would have never made it without you, please answer me, please open your eyes," she heard Neville's and Ginny's pleas but she was too depressed and too damn exhausted to answer them. That was until she heard Harry's voice.

"'Mione, I know that you can hear me. Please we need you, I need you too. Don't leave me now, you're my best friend, I love you." Hearing those words was what made Hermione opened her eyes.

"Harry?" She managed hoarsely.

"Oh good Meriln I'm so glad that you're awake sweetie," Harry blurted.

"Harry what happened to Severus? I want to see him," she demanded.

"Listen 'Mione you're not too strong to know that he…," started Harry before being abruptly cut off.

"Shout up Harry! Just shout up. Please I want to see my Severus. Bring him to me. Please. That's the only thing that I ever asked you for! Bring him to me!" She shouted with tears in her eyes.

"Okay but I'm not sure if that's the best thing I could do to you," he whispered, obviously avoiding Madam Pomfrey rage. "He's laying on the bed beside yours. On you left," he whispered into her ear and left the Hospital Wing.

Hermione looked to her left and saw Severus laying on the bed, looking half dead. Fortunately she saw that he was breathing so the thought that he had actually survived the killing curse made her feel better. She tried to get to her feet, to walk to her lover's bed, and her head spun slightly making her sway dangerously on her feet.

Hermione stumbled on her last step toward the bed where Severus laid and have fallen into his bed making his eyes open as he felt the pressure of something laying across him.

"Hermione?" He asked in a quiet whisper.

"Yes, Severus I'm here. We're both safe!" She exclaimed. "We're both alive," she managed to say with a small smile but almost immediately lost consciousness.

~Two months after the third wizarding war~

"'Mione please join us!" She heard Ron shout as soon as she entered the school grounds.

"Yeah Ron I'm coming," she shouted and made her way towards her friends. She saw Draco, Luna, Ginny, Harry, Ron and Lavender waiting for her.

"Hey guys. I've got only few hours away from Madame Pomfrey and the Hospital Wing. Please tell me only about what happened to you, I want only happy news so start with you Ginny," she exclaimed and joined their happy circle on the school grounds.

After a couple of minutes she heard everything that she wanted to know. Ginny and Harry were dating, Draco just asked Luna to be his date on the next Hogsmeade trip and Ron asked Lavender to be his girlfriend. Everything turned out to be perfect for her friends.

"What about you Hermione?" Asked Ginny in a concerned tone.

"Oh. I'll be fine guys, Severus and I, well…, he belongs to me and I belong to him," she answered with a smile and stood up to join her lover for a walk that Madame Pomfrey recommended for the two of the them.

Severus smiled as she approached him and held out his arm for her to take. "Hermione, I thought that your friends would never let you leave," he said as they walked slowly around the black lake enjoying the breeze.

"Severus, you know me better than that. I'd never let anyone keep me from being by your side," she said as they walked under an archway that seemed as if it were merely a solid wall before at the base of the castle.

Hermione was about to ask where they were, when she noticed the fountain that laid at the center of the private garden of Salazar Slytherin and Baba Jaga. "Severus, I didn't know that there was another way into this garden," she said in shock as he sat on the edge of the fountain and patted the empty space beside him for her to join him there.

"You, know that Hogwarts is full of secrets my love. Please sit down for a moment we have something important to discuss," said Severus in a serious tone.

Hermione sat beside him and looked into his dark eyes questioningly. "You look worried about something, what do you want to talk about?" Asked Hermione.

Severus sighed in thought as he stuffed a hand into one of his robe pockets. "Hermione, we need to talk about the future, our future to be more exact," he said as his hand closed over something cool in his pocket.

"What about our future, Severus?" Asked Hermione finally thinking about that exact subject herself.

"Hermione, you won't be a student after the end of this year, and I don't want to lose you. I came too close to losing you this year, and I can't picture my life without you in it anymore. At first I didn't like the idea of having you or any other witch for my mistress, but now I want more than you can give me as my mistress," he said as he pulled his clenched fist out of his robe pocket.

"What do you mean by you want more?" Asked Hermione.

"I want more, Hermione. I want your love, I want to wake up every day for the rest of my life with you by my side. I want to have a real life. I want what I never dreamed possible, I want you as my wife, and perhaps someday, if the gods above are willing mother to my children. Hermione Granger, will you marry me?" He asked as he opened his hand and held out elegant emerald and diamond engagement ring to her.

Hermione's eyes filled with tears of joy as she nodded and held out her hand for him to place the ring onto her finger. "Nodding is not good enough, darling, I want to hear you say it," he said as he held the ring inches from her finger.

"Yes, Severus, I'll marry you, I'll be your wife, and I'll be mother to as many children as you wish to be the father of," she said making him smile and slide the ring onto her finger.

As the other ring was slid onto her finger the snake ring started to move up her hand and then slithered around the engagement ring taking on a new shape before freezing once more.

A few months later as the end of term feast was about to begin, the Headmaster stood and asked for silence. The students were all silent as they looked up to the staff table and noticed that Professor Severus Snape was now standing with Professor Flitwick by his side just behind Professor Dumbledore. The other students in Gryffindor took that moment to also make note of the fact that there were a few select students missing. "We have suffered much in these past years, fighting two wars and losing many lives in the process. It is now time for something joyful and happy to happen on these grounds," the Headmaster began.

"It is our hope that joy and happiness follow us all into the future, but for now I wish you all to rise and join me in helping a good start for two among us," he said as Minerva flicked her wand making thousands of white rose petals float gently from the enchanted ceiling as Nevil, and Ginny, Ron, and Lavender, Draco and Luna walked up the center of the great hall in their dress robes. Seconds later Harry led Hermione who was dressed in a halter topped white set of wedding robes that flowed elegantly behind her. He placed a tender brotherly kiss on her cheek before nodding at Severus and stepping to Ginny's side.

Severus grasped Hermione's hand in his and smiled as Headmaster Dumbledore drew his wand. "By now you all know the legend of Salazar Slytherin and Baba Jaga. Salazar and Baba Jaga never got the opportunity to marry, due to her death. This is where their curse ends. May the head of Slytherin and the blood descendant of baba Jaga never be parted again with the joining of these two who stand before us now. May you both continue to improve each others lives, and have a long happy life together," said Albus as more and more golden strands wound themselves around Hermione and Severus's wrists.

"A magical bond is binding and can never be broken, I now pronounce and decree that Severus Snape and Hermione Granger are from this day known to all as husband and wife. Professor and Mrs. Snape, we here at Hogwarts wish the two of you all the happiness in the world. You may kiss your bride," said Albus with a smile. The entire school erupted into cheers and applause as Severus smirked and pulled Hermione into a passionate kiss.

Two years have now passed and Severus and Hermione Snape are now the proud parents of the cutest twin girls with another baby on the way. Ginny and Harry are now expecting their first child, Ron and Lavender are busy traveling around the world, and Draco and Luna are happily raising their first infant son Scorpius. Severus never knew that he would ever find happiness in his lonely life, and now he wouldn't change a thing. He smiles as his two year old daughters come running into his classroom while he grades the work from the classes taught earlier in the day.

"Rose, Eileen, how did you get out of our living quarters?" He asked as they ran up to him and started tugging on his robes.

"Mama mama," they said in unison as they tugged harder and harder at his robes. He looked up and saw a very pregnant Hermione standing against the door with a pale face and one hand over her stomach.

"Severus, I've called Ginny and Harry, they're taking the girls for us," she said as he reached her and looked over her shoulder to see Harry and Ginny exiting thier personal living quarters where Hermione had just exited.

"Uncky, Hawwey," squealed the girls as they caught sight of Harry and Ginny and ran passed their parents.

"Thanks for this, Harry," said Severus as he scooped Hermione into his arms and ran up to the hospital wing. Harry and Ginny smiled at his back as he ran. An hour later Hermione gave birth to a son, which they named Salazar, and all was right in Severus and Hermione's world.
