"Dammit, Fitzsimmons!" Coulson wanted to grind his teeth in frustration. "Just put on the stupid hoods!"

"But Ward and Skye don't have to wear these dumb hoods!" Simmons retorted.

"And they're so stupid looking and bulky, we shouldn't have to wear these monstrosities if nobody else does." Fitz added.

"What if I make Ward and Skye wear hoods?" Coulson bribed them.

"You would never," Simmons then turned and looked at Fitz. "He would never."

"Never," Fitz agreed.

Coulson sighed, trying to hide his frustration.

"Honestly sir, why do we have to wear these?" Jemma looked at the hood in her hand with disgust. "It's so...weird looking."

"Because where we are going has below freezing temperatures, and because you two are just going to be standing still instead of actually fighting, you need to stay warm." Coulson explained. "Will you please put them on?"

Fitzsimmons exchanged a glance and Coulson's spirits lifted. But as soon as he got hopeful, Fitzsimmons turned back to him. "Nope." They said in unison.

Coulson's jaw clenched in anger, and was about to demand that the stupid science twins just wear the goddamn hoods or stay on the Bus while the rest of the team go out onto the field, May walked through the hallway they were currently arguing in.

As she walked past, she took in the hoodless Fitzsimmons, the angry, red faced Coulson and internally smirked. "Hoods on. Now."

Never in their lives have Fitzsimmons rushed to do anything so fast.

Fitz took in the team surveying the area and leaned over to Simmons. "Jemma, do you think May would notice if I took off my hood?"

Simmons glanced up at May, deep in conversation with Coulson.

"No, I think she's preoccupied."

Fitz nodded and reached up to slide off his hood. As soon as his curly hair was free of the bulky hood, May's gaze snapped over to him, eyes narrowing at the sight of his hood down. Fitz made a terrified sound as he tugged his hood back over his head, vowing never to disobey Melinda May again.
