Author's Note: With Halloween quickly approaching I was inspired to continue this Resident Evil story. It's been a while since I updated, but I'm hoping to get back into it with more frequent updates. As always, comments and questions are greatly appreciated!

Alice startlingly awoke.

She was lying in a comfortable, rumpled double bed, in an elaborate, high class American room. The walls were adorned with beautiful frescoes, while each corner of the room had a marble sculpture of various animals.

Someone was looking at her. She turned her head, and saw a handsome man smiling down at her—dark, Semitic, his hair as rumpled as the bedclothes—as he walked into the room unbuttoning his dress shirt. He gazed at her at her with a kind of wry familiarity, an intimacy. Like a husband.

He couldn't be her husband... she had no husband. But he had a wedding ring on—she looked at her own finger—one that matched hers.

Then it came to her—his name was...Carlos. That was it. Looking at him, thinking that she'd known him in a different manner, once, long ago... But that thought had escaped her now.

Hadn't she been at a facility? With Wesker? She'd remembered an alarm going off...

No. That hadn't been real. It couldn't have been. She could smell her husband's aftershave. This was what was real. This was... much better. The other was just a dream. A bad dream.

"Forget it, Alice," she said to herself.

But the Red Queen. Her friends. They needed her.

Alice looked down, and saw that she was wearing a red nightie. One that she had worn many years ago. It was still evening out. The trees swayed, slightly smacking the window as the wind howled through them.

"This place is awfully familiar," she thought. The room was dark as well. Everything was very well kept in their master bedroom; large dressers full of beautiful clothes for her. A closet comprised entirely of shoes. An ornate mirror hung on the wall directly in front of the bed. As Alice sat up, her hair tussled in front of her face, and she saw her reflection.

"Baby!" Carlos stopped dressing, staring at her, a concerned look on his face.

Alice felt tired and disoriented. She should get up, she knew that, but...

"Baby?" He looked at her, lips pursed.

She cleared her throat, and sat up, still a bit dizzy.

Carlos leaned toward her a little. "Baby—are you okay?"

"Yeah," she said. "I—I had the strangest dream."

"You look tired. You didn't sleep well?"

"I'm fine."

He didn't seem convinced. Neither was she, for that matter.

"You sure?" he asked.

"Yeah."

He stared at her, the way husbands stare at their wives.

"I'm okay—really," she insisted.

"Well, in that case..." He jumped onto the bed beside Alice.

Alice smiled wanly. She felt stiff. Her lungs seemed to hurt when she took a deep breath.

A reaction to that bad dream...

She caught sight of herself in the bedroom mirror again. Wait—that wasn't right, was it? When did she get blond hair? She'd remembered having blonde hair years ago, when she was in the mansion. This room looked supremely similar to that room she had woken up in long ago.

She shook herself. No wonder Carlos was staring at her.

Sometimes dreams linger and confuse you.

Yeah, that's what it was.

She had loved Carlos. And then he was taken from her all too soon, before she could profess her feelings for him, and he went and did something so damn heroic for her, and the cause against the Red Queen.

But now he was here. It's what she had always wanted. Carlos cupped Alice's face in his palm. "You're my angel," he said softly, as Alice blushed.

Alice smiled. She knew this was right. What she had been searching for all along. And nothing else mattered.

She could've sworn she had heard a child's laughter echo the room when Carlos pounced on the bed, lunging at Alice and hungrily gripping her body with his powerful arms. He brought her lips to his and they embraced.

Alice hardly thought of anything now. Just Carlos and the solace of being together.

Carlos rolled onto his back, mounting Alice on top of him as he began to tear her red nightie off. He tore the fabric from her body vigorously, as if she was wear wearing wrapping paper. Alice let out of soft laugh as Carlos cupped Alice's breasts as she began to bounce up and down on him.

Wesker didn't flinch from behind his sunglasses as zombified soldiers entered the hallways, searching for the intruders. Many of them went to the main foyer to meet Jill and Leon, but a squad also patrolled the halls, clearing every room until they had finally seen what was transpiring through the glass walls of the computer mainframe: Wesker guarding a plugged-in Alice.

"We have them," said what appeared to be the leader of the squad, a white skull painted on his helmet.

"Mmm!" Alice cooed on top of the table, her hands beginning to caress herself as she convulsed. To Wesker, it appeared that she was experiencing immense pleasure.

"Alice!" Wesker shouted. "You have to fight it! It's the Red Queen manipulating you! None of it is real!"

Alice hardly seemed to take notice. She bit her lip on top of the table, her nylon gloved hands continuing to canvas her own body. She was attempting to rip the corset off her body, but the many buckles kept her suit on, and she was too distracted to focus on anything as complicated as that.

The Red Queen was cunning. She was not using monsters to instill fear into Alice. She was using lust and sex to keep her under her control.

Wesker saw that the squad of soldiers were arming their weapons to fire upon them. With that, he pulled out a grenade and tossed it through the air towards them. With perfect timing, he shot the glass window with his Beretta, creating a small hole for the grenade to fit through. The grenade sailed ever so gracefully through the hole of the window until landing at the soldiers' feet.

"Take cov-!" The general screamed before the grenade went off, and a slew of limbs were propelled across the hallway, a massive pool of blood splattering upon the window for Wesker to admire...

An elevator opened up as two squadrons of the zombified Umbrella minions entered the main atrium of the lab. Jill smiled as she stood out on the street level with a rocket launcher.

"Welcome to the party boys," she said with a snicker as she fired the rocket. The missile penetrated the double glazed doors until it met the herd of soldiers. An explosion shook the foundations of the building, and many of the pillars that held the ceiling up began to shift.

"See, told you we could handle it," Jill said leaning her weight on one leg and looking over to Leon, who was hunched down with his hands covering his ears. Once he rose up, he smiled at Jill, until he saw the elevators open again. Three more squadrons, complete with a pack of six zombie dogs entered the building.

"Take cover!" Leon exclaimed as he ducked behind one of the pillars inside the building. Jill did the same on the opposite side of the room.

The horde of undead continued to be mowed down by Leon and Jill's assault rifles, but ammo was depleting quickly, and they were continually being suppressed when they had to reload their weapons.

"We can't take much more of this!" Jill said, before a zombie dog lunged at her from the side. With ease, she pulled out her magnum pistol, pointing it directly into the dog's mouth before pulling the trigger, instantly pulverizing the dog in two.

"Where the hell is Alice!" Leon said screaming, as he took the shotgun that was strapped to his back and began pumping rounds into the heads of the Umbrella SWAT teams.

Alice was about to give in. Her mouth opened up in ecstasy, when she looked into Carlos' eyes, and a chill ran down her spine. In them, she didn't see warmth, but red, and computer code, as if he was just a lifeless robot whose only goal was to bring her to climax.

"Stop," Alice whispered, putting her hand on Carlos' chest in an attempt to push him off of her.

"What's wrong, dear?"

"Nothing," Alice said.

"Don't you want this?"

Alice pondered to herself for a moment.

"No."

Carlos frowned, and got up from the bed. He didn't say anything, but became instantly cold to Alice, and numb. The lifelessness in his eyes made Alice realize that this may not have been as real as it seemed. She remembered Wesker.

"Wesker," Alice whispered, looking around the master bedroom of the mansion. It was coming back to her that Alice was sent here to do something.

Carlos simply got up from the bed and walked out of the room.

"Wait!" Alice said to Carlos as he left. She wanted answers. She got up from the bed and began putting on her red dress again. When she went to follow Carlos out of the master bedroom, she realized that he was nowhere in sight, and she found herself in a long glass corridor.

"This...looks familiar," Alice said to herself, looking around. The glass tiles shone with a fluorescent light that beamed down on her. She hovered her hands over her eyes in order to shield herself from the brightness. She peered down the corridor to find a black metal door. As she started to walk down the corridor, a large hum emitted from the walls. To her dismay, a grid of red lasers appeared at opposite end of the corridor, coming straight towards her.

"Oh, fuck," Alice said. With quick thinking, she looked up to the ceiling of the corridor. Several pipes were fitted along the ceiling. Using her supreme agility, she jumped up to grab the piping and lifted her entire body up like a gymnast as the red lasers passed underneath her. The sash that hung from her dress was cut off by one of the lasers, and softly drifted to the floor. Once the corridor was clear again, Alice dropped down from the ceiling and ran towards the metal door. She didn't want to stick around much longer, and so she enthusiastically opened it and slammed it behind her, sighing a breath of relief.

Alice flicked her hair back as she saw a computer terminal in front of her. It was old - and probably utilized an operating system that was now obsolete. However, she approached it, and saw a command line on the computer terminal saying, "Run." Looking down at the keyboard, she hesitantly hit the "Enter" button.

With that, a small female child appeared on the computer monitor. She recognized Alice, and Alice recognized her. It was the Red Queen. Alice arched her eyebrow to glare at her nemesis. The interesting thing was that this girl in the computer monitor was not a digital representation, made up of a red hologram. It was an actual human girl in a white dress. Perhaps it was the original Red Queen before she became a digital avatar.

"Well," said the Red Queen in her snobbish accent. "It appears that you've found the source."

Alice straightened her back and clenched her fists with an absolute confidence. She remembered everything now. "Yes, now I remember why I'm here."

"Why are you here, then, Alice?"

"I'm here to destroy you."

"Is that so?" asked the Red Queen.

"You've made my life a living hell, hurt or killed everyone I've ever cared about. And this is where it ends," Alice said, her heart racing excitedly.

The Red Queen yawned. "You may destroy me. But it won't matter. The world is already gone. There is nothing left, and I have already implemented my final endgame."

"What are you talking about?" Alice asked, now somewhat annoyed and anxious to kill the Red Queen once and for all.

"You can kill me, Alice - but I've already put a plan in motion that even you - with all your power - cannot stop."

"I can handle anything you throw at me," stated Alice, cockily.

"No...not this time," the Red Queen replied calmly. "It really is quite glorious, and I want to thank you Alice, because what we've created is such a true masterpiece, and it's all because of you."

"I'm not afraid. I -"

"The level of your fear is irrelevant," the Red Queen interrupted. "You can try to fight, but it will not stop hunting you until you are dead."

"What won't stop?" asked Alice, her stomach turning into knots as dread began to creep up her body.

"It."

"Tell me what it is," Alice demanded, more urgently now.

The Red Queen just smiled. "Your fate is just as sealed as mine, Alice."

"We are nothing alike," Alice said, walking to the computer to enter the "Terminate" command.

"Oh, it is. And when the Tyrant finally destroys you, you will understand what a fool you are. And that I have won."

"That's enough," Alice said, typing in the command before hitting the "Enter" button. The Red Queen smiled, staring at Alice as her image began to dissolve into nothing but binary bits of code. The monitors began to flicker, and the mainframe began to explode. The Red Queen's mainframe was destroyed; the source of her power obliterated.

Alice smiled as a tear ran down her cheek. It was over. And now she had to wake up to the real word to face whatever horrors awaited her above.
