Sorry it's been awhile. I got a bit preoccupied and forgot to keep writing for this. I have a few ideas in store though so it shouldn't be too long before I update again.

Romance. Conflict. Adventure. Deceit. Not to mention, great plot twists.

The tale had everything she loved in a story, Lucy could barely put the book down. As soon as she'd finish one chapter, she'd go right to the next. It had been like this ever since she rediscovered it on her bookshelf. When she had first got it, she had been too busy to read it. Now she wished she hadn't waited so long. Unfortunately, she was already nearly finished with it.

She paused in her reading after finishing the second to last chapter, sighing softly. She knew she should have tried taking her time with it but it was just so good.

With another sigh, Lucy put dogeared the book and set it beside her on the mattress before getting out and heading for the kitchen. She figured a getting some tea would be a good way to prepare for the final chapter. As the water boiled, she silently wondered what was in store for her next and if the main characters would get together. At this point she was hopeful it would have a happy ending.

When the tea was ready, she returned to the main area of her apartment to find Happy and Natsu climbing through the window. She resisted the urge to shout at them to use the door; it was already too late and it's not like they ever listened anyway.

"Hey, Lucy." Natsu greeted, turning to shut the window once Happy was inside.

Lucy said her own greeting, returning to her bed. "What are you guys here for?" She asked, leaving the books where it was. With them here, she wouldn't get the chance to keep reading it for awhile.

Natsu sauntered over, taking a seat at the end of her bed along with Happy. With a curious look, he picked up the book and examined it. "No reason, just stopping by."

Lucy took a sip of her tea as she watched him look over the book. He seemed fairly interested in it. Maybe if he agreed not to burn it, she'd lend it to him to read for himself. Or maybe she'd read it to both him and Happy. She certainly wouldn't mind rereading the book for a second time already. She opened her mouth to suggest this but was cut off by Natsu.

"Isn't this the one that ends with both of the characters dying?" He asked.

Lucy's brows knitted together. "I started reading it today, I don't know how it ends. You're probably thinking of something else."

Natsu raised a brow, looking from her back to the book cover. "This is Eons Rise, right?"

"Yes..." Lucy replied uncertainly.

"Well," Natsu paused, flipping to the last few pages in the book. Thankfully from the angle he was sitting, Lucy couldn't read the words on it. The last thing she wanted was to have the ending ruined for her. She set her tea down while he read over the page. Suddenly he grinned, turning the book towards her before she could look away. "They both die." He said firmly.

"What?!" Unable to stop herself, Lucy snatched the book from him and quickly read the page herself. She gaped. It was true; both the characters died in the end. There was no happy ending here like she had hoped for.

While Lucy stared blankly at the book, Happy told Natsu he was going to get a snack. As the exceed ran off to raid her fridge, Lucy looked to Natsu with a mix of shock and anger. "You just spoiled the ending!" She shouted.

Natsu winced at her raised voice then smiled sheepishly. "You didn't finish it yet?"

"That's what I said!" Lucy wailed, dropping the book to put her head in her hands. She remained that way for a moment, then her head shot up. "How did you know they died in the first place?"

Natsu blinked, then said plainly. "I've read it."

"You've...read it?"

"Yes."

"When?"

Natsu rubbed the back of his head. "Awhile ago, I think you were on a job with Erza."

Lucy recalled the time a few months back when she had gone on a three day job with Erza. She knew he had been in her apartment while she was gone but she didn't think he'd be there reading of all things. She groaned, her hands returning to her face. She wasn't sure if she was more annoyed that he spoiled the ending or with the fact that that is how the book actually ended. This was just too much.

The room was quiet with Lucy steaming over what just happened and Natsu edging away should she lash out at him suddenly. The only noise that could be heard was Happy in the kitchen. After a long moment, Natsu spoke up. "If it makes you feel any better, there is a sequel."

Lucy perked up at this. "Really?"

"Yeah," Natsu grinned, relieved that she didn't seem angry anymore. Or at least, less angry. "The characters get revived, though one of them ends up dying again."

When she didn't respond, Natsu nervously looked over at her. "Lucy?"

"You just spoiled it again!"

"...Whoops."
