After the Doctor left Rose's room, he went to his room and changed into his brown pinstripes and white trainers. He studied himself in the mirror, hands in his pockets, smiling as he recognized the man looking back at him. No more flat and frumpy hair with his pale skin and jim jams. It's back to the grind.

Once he was dressed, the Doctor visited the TARDIS late that morning while Rose readied herself for the day. His ship was doing fine, as she had been hiding using a cloaking device. She had not been seen by anyone in the past two weeks. The TARDIS gave the Doctor a warm welcome as he entered it. They missed each other in the time the Doctor was sick.

The Doctor made sure everything was okay with the TARDIS, the console, and everything, but not before picking up a tiny bottle and put it in his pocket. He reassured the TARDIS that he and Rose would be back in a day or two, causing the TARDIS to purr happily as he left.

By the time the Doctor returned to the flat, Rose was dressed and helping Jackie finish off the stew. Rose had told Jackie of the cut but lied to her as to how she got it. The Doctor and Rose exchanged a "your secret is safe with me" look with each other.

"Here it is!" The Doctor proclaimed, taking the little bottle out of his pocket and handing it to her. "This should help with the cut on your face, Rose."

Rose took a look at the bottle in her hand. She couldn't read the writing on it. "Where's it from?"

"I got it a long time ago, on some planet I forgot the name of," The Doctor explained. "But it had some done some trading with Gallifrey in the past and this was imported from home before the Time War. I saw it there and I had to buy it. This is a first aid serum that heals small wounds, like bites, burns, or, in your case, scratches."

Rose smiled and clutched the bottle in her hand. "Right, so I'll go use it right now," she said, about to turn and walk away until the Doctor stopped her.

"It's probably best if I applied it for you," the Doctor suggested. He pointed towards the direction of the bathroom. "Allons-y!"

Rose giggled as she followed him. Jackie shot the two a dirty look. "Don't worry, Mum, we'll keep the door open!" She hated how she had to keep reassuring her mother that her and the Doctor weren't going to do anything funny when they were alone.

The Doctor and Rose entered the bathroom, where the Doctor put on his glasses and rummaged through the medicine cabinet for a cotton ball or anything to apply the serum while Rose sat on the closed lid of the toilet, taking the bandage off her cheek. The Doctor found some cotton balls and took one, unscrewing the lid and getting the cotton ball soaked.

"Hold still," he warned, holding it close to Rose's cheek. "This might sting a bit."

Rose sat there as the Doctor gently dabbed the cotton ball on the scratch. At first there was no feeling until a few seconds later, when Rose felt the stinging sensation. "Ow!"

The Doctor pulled his hand back as a reflex as soon as Rose winced. "Sorry," he said.

Rose hissed at the stinging. "Is it really this bad?" she asked worriedly.

The Doctor shook his head. "No, it'll pass in a minute," he answered, concentrating on Rose's cut. He swabbed some more of the serum on the cut and finally tossed the cotton ball in the rubbish bin. "There!"

He placed a new bandage on her cheek and closed the serum, putting it back in his pocket. Rose sighed, feeling a little disappointed. She half expected him to...possibly kiss the bandage?

No, Rose! Her subconscious shouted at her. You're getting all school-girl crushy again! You need to stop this! He's the Doctor, for heaven's sake! He'll never love you like you love him!

"Let's keep that on for another hour and we'll see how it worked," The Doctor said, taking his glasses off and putting them in his pocket. "What do you say we do in the meantime? Maybe get some chips for lunch, how does that sound?"

Rose grinned her trademark grin. "Now we're talking!"

The Doctor grinned at her, taking her hand into his, helping her stand up. "We'll take the TARDIS this time!"

Rose raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure you should be driving?" she asked. "You've just recovered from that terrible illness. Shouldn't you give yourself another day or two to make you're fully charged?"

"Nah," The Doctor waved off. "I need to practice flying her again. It's been two weeks, Rose. Old Girl needs to run her engines."

The two left the bathroom and told Jackie where they were going.

"Try not to stuff yourselves too much!" Jackie noted. "We're having stew tonight, remember? I made a big ol' pot of it, so I'm going to need help getting at least half of it in the fridge for leftovers!"

"Okay, Mum, we won't," Rose said, putting on her jacket. She kissed her mum goodbye. "Love you, see you when we get back!"

The Doctor and Rose left the house and went over to the TARDIS, where the Doctor let Rose go in first. Rose giggled but then a familiar smell hit her. The smell of the TARDIS. It was like entering someone's house and they had a special smell. The TARDIS had one. She couldn't picture what it was but she was rather fond of it.

The Doctor, at the controls, set the location for London, starting up the TARDIS for takeoff. The TARDIS shook and did her thing until they landed.

"We're here!" The Doctor said happily, dancing over to the door and opening it. Rose joyfully followed as they stepped out into the familiar streets of London. She knew the Doctor was better for sure this time, since he was dancing and skipping about.

The two went to the chip shop from the other day and ordered some chips, where they sat, talked, and ate for at least half an hour. The Doctor asked Rose what she wanted to do next for the afternoon.

Rose, munching on a chip, pondered for a minute when her eyes widened. "Remember you said we might go see a movie on our last outing?"

The Doctor grinned. "Right!" he said. "Well, what's playing at the cinema? Anything in particular you wanted to see?"

Rose sipped on her drink before she spoke. "How about that new superhero movie?" She suggested. "You know, the one in outer space? You like space, obviously, so I think you'd enjoy it."

"With all that time I spent in bed watching the telly, you'd think I'd be sick of movies by now," The Doctor added. "But nope!"

Rose giggled and playfully smacked the Doctor with the sleeve of her jacket. The Doctor pretended to cower.

The two left the chip shop and walked over to the nearby cinema, in which the Doctor bored Rose with a story about how he met Charlie Chaplin and inspired some of his antics. Rose shook her head the whole time, not believing him.

Once they got to the movies, Rose purchased the tickets while the Doctor snuck over to the concessions stand and got some popcorn and sweets for Rose. He was a little disappointed when he discovered a movie was playing in 3D and he didn't get to wear the 3D glasses (I didn't see the episode where he wore those but I had to throw that in there). Rose jokingly called him a big baby and dragged him to the theatre where they were going to watch their movie.

The Doctor and Rose watched the previews and munched on popcorn and sweets. The Doctor realized he forgot a certain sweet and was about to get up and go get them when Rose pulled a yellow bag out of her jacket and handed it to the Doctor, asking, "Jelly Baby?"

The Doctor gleefully snatched them up from Rose, ripping them open, and eating them up as the opening credits rolled. "You have no idea how much I miss food after not eating for days, especially Jelly Babies!"

Rose grinned her trademark grin, trying hard not to laugh as the Doctor poured more of the sweets into his mouth.

"Oh I just love you, Rose Tyler!" he said, chewing until he noticed Rose giving him a weird but a good kind of weird look. "I mean, I love you for getting these."

Rose giggled, to which the rest of the people in the audience shushed her.

"Oi!" The Doctor shouted.

"Calm down, Doctor," Rose whispered. "Let's just enjoy the movie."

The Doctor sighed and leaned back in his seat. He didn't need to stress himself out, especially now. He was out for the day enjoying himself and that was what he was going to do.

Throughout the movie, however, the Doctor kept making remarks and pointing out facts about space, comparing and contrasting. "That is not possible in space!" and "There's way more of those in space!" Rose herself had to shush the Doctor after a certain amount of time.

Once the movie finally ended, the Doctor was about to explode with more comparisons but Rose had to drag the Doctor out of the theatre before anyone else in the audience could jump on him.

"Guess we're both bad guests," The Doctor joked, throwing away the garbage he and Rose accumulated before during the movie.

"I'm sure they've seen worse," Rose pointed out. "I don't think we were that bad." The Doctor had to laugh.

They walked down the street, realizing the sun had gone down. It had been a few hours since lunch but some clouds had rolled in during the time the Doctor and Rose were in the movies, making it appear darker sooner.

They reached the TARDIS and the Doctor was about to open it when he noticed Rose's face. "Your scratch!" he said excitedly. "It's gone! That means the serum worked!"

Rose placed a hand on where her scratch was. The bandage must have fallen off because she felt nothing there. She smiled. "Wow. Thanks again, Doctor,"

"You're welcome, Rose," The Doctor said with a smile, leaning down and placed a kiss where her scratch was, feeling her soft skin against his lips.

This made Rose blush, feeling warm and tingly inside. She closed her eyes and giggled, enjoying this happy moment.

The Doctor stared at Rose for a brief minute, contemplating. Rose opened her eyes, noticing the Doctor staring longingly at her, his hearts beating rapidly but feeling nervous.

"You okay?" Rose asked.

The Doctor smiled, not answering her question. Instead, he went for it. He went with his gut, closed his eyes, leaned forward, and kissed Rose smack on the lips, kissing her passionately with all his might. This took Rose by surprise, making her heart skip a beat and leap with joy. She closed her eyes, wrapping her arms around his neck, him placing his hands on her waist. They parted for air, the Doctor blushing and looking more youthful than ever.

"Sorry," he said with his mouth feeling dry. "Just-"

Rose said nothing as she reached up and kissed him again. "You have no idea how much I've wanted you to do that!"

The Doctor stared at her in surprise. "Really?" he asked.

"I know you love me," Rose continued. "I mean, love-love me. I love-love you, too, Doctor. I've been wanting to say it so much, you have no idea."

The Doctor grinned. "Oh believe me, I do," he added. "I was scared of you saying you didn't love-love me back. I don't know what I would have done."

Rose smiled, sticking her tongue through her teeth. "Doctor, if I didn't love-love you, I would not have done all those things for you nor put up with your silly antics while you were sick."

The Doctor wrapped his arms around her, squeezing her into a tight hug. She did have a good point. If she didn't love him, she would have left him out in the rain, she wouldn't have fed him chicken broth in bed, and she especially would not have fallen asleep in his bed and stayed there. If she didn't love-love him, she would have left as soon as he was asleep that night. The Doctor just felt so happy at that moment. He was the happiest he had been in a long, long time.

Rose broke up the hug, smiling, and linking arms with the Doctor and entering the TARDIS to head back to the flat...

Late that evening, Jackie returned from a night out shopping when she saw the living room glowing blue. She entered to find Rose and the Doctor, both sitting on the couch together, asleep with the telly on to BBC News. She noticed they were holding hands and resting on each other, as if they weren't going to let each other go. Instead of getting mad the two were getting too cozy together, she figured she would let them be for now. She smiled, picked up a nearby blanket, and covered the two with it. She figured she will bump the Doctor on the head some other day. She was just happy the Doctor was better and when he was better, Rose was happy, making Jackie happy.

And that is the end! I hope you all enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it! Thank you all so much for reading, reviewing, and supporting this story!
