Her second waking was much more pleasurable the second time. Once Aragorn calmed her down enough, she had actually fallen asleep in his lap. He had apparently settled her down in her bed and covered her back up. She felt much better. Not only did she not have any more nightmares but she also felt at peace about the situation for the first time since her capture.

After all, she had survived. The Shikon was gone and there was no way she could make it back home but she had survived everything thrown at her and still managed to destroy the jewel and spoil Saruman's plan. And she was in a new world and could create another life for herself. After she figured out what she was of course.

She decided to leave figuring out what she was for later and decided she wanted to explore today. After all, the dress and leggings she was given to wear were absolutely gorgeous and the furniture and bedding designs in the room were breathtakingly gorgeous. She was excited to see what the rest of the city looked like. It would also be good to get some fresh air since the only thing she had taken in since she came to this world, was what was on that horrible tower where she had been tortured and held captive.

She was leaned over trying to lace up her new boots when there was a knock on the door. She called out for whoever it was to enter without even looking up. She heard the door open and when nothing was said for a minute she finally looked up and saw Aragorn staring at her amused.

"Oh, um hello, Aragorn, good morning," she said sitting up straight.

"Good morning, Lady Kagome. I trust you were able to finally get some sleep?" he asked. He wouldn't admit that he had slept outside her door to make sure there were no more nightmares.

Kagome gave him a soft smile at his concern. "I did," she then looked down at her lap, "and thank you for last night. And please, just call me Kagome."

"Your welcome, Kagome, I came to show you around if you are feeling up to it," he leaned against the door to study her more. He knew she would accept the offer as she was already dressed. He and Lord Elrond had decided it would be much easier for him to show her around than to have anyone else do so since only a handful knew the truth of who she was and would understand that everything here would be new to her.

"That sounds wonderful," Kagome said excitedly as she stood up. This saved her the trouble of finding someone to give her directions. She was also grateful because he knew her story and so hopefully would answer her questions about this world. Plus the only other person she really knew was Gandalf but she really didn't feel like asking for a tour from him or from Lord Elrond either. They were probably busy with the ring business anyways.

"So where to first?" she asked happily as she walked towards Aragorn.

Aragorn was about to answer her when a small rumbling sound echoed in the room. He laughed lightly at the answering blush spread across the woman's face. "I suppose breakfast would be the best place to go first. Afterwards we could explore the city. Lord Elrond will not mind if we borrow any horses," he said and then noticed a nervous expression cross over Kagome's face.

Kagome could not believe she was going to have to admit this. "I have never ridden a horse before though."

"You can ride with your horse next to mine if you like. The horses here have been trained exceptionally well and you should have no problems with one or you could ride with me," Aragorn suggested. Elven horses were incredibly intelligent so he didn't think any of them would give her a problem but he had no problem with her riding with him either. It would give him a chance to study her more and talk to her more.

"I think I will ride with you then. I am not really familiar with anything here yet," she told him. She felt no ill will from him and right now he was her best bet to figuring out this new world. Also, she really did not want to get lost. Gandalf seemed the type to tease her viciously over it. She usually hated relying on people so much but in this instance she figured it wouldn't hurt. Besides the quicker she learned about this world then the quicker she could become more independent.

Aragorn nodded to her answer and then opened her door and said, "Off to breakfast then. I am curious on how our food compares to the food where you come from." He wondered if she would even be able to find anything she would like or if the foods were similar to her.

Kagome gave a smile at that as she followed him from the room. "I am curious as well. I guess I won't know until I try any food from this world," she said and then realized that had to be the most bizarre sentence she had ever said. She let out a small laugh and when Aragorn looked back at her curiously, she filled him in on her thoughts.

"I can see the strangeness in that as well. It is even odder to talk to someone from a different world. Not bad different though, just an unique experience," he had added on that it wasn't a bad thing quick as he didn't want her to fell as though meeting her was a bad thing. He knew he said the right thing when she laughed and agreed with him.

Breakfast was an interesting affair as she ate the food provided. Some of the fruits she recognized but others were new to her. Some she even refused to eat until Aragorn took a bite. There was much laughter between the two of them as they ate. She would describe how her fruits were different.

She even decided to explain lemons to him. "They are small, about this big (makes hand gesture) and have a sour taste to them. Some people enjoy the sour taste but others find it too much. I happen to love the sourness of lemons," she told him as she bit into a fruit that was close to the bananas she used to eat back home.

Aragorn tried picturing the fruit she described and he could think of one that was similar on this world though many did not enjoy the sourness of the fruit. He happened to find them good in small bites. "Just a moment then Kagome, as I believe we have a fruit very similar to this lemon. It would be interesting to see if you would like it. I will return with one in just a moment." He then went to the kitchen and found what he was looking for and then went back to Kagome. He really did want to see her expression while she consumed it.

Kagome studied the fruit curiously as she watched Aragorn peel and slice it for her. He took two slices to put on his plate and then put two small slices on her plate. He also refilled her drink and gave it to her with a smirk.

"Well, here we go," she said as she picked up a piece to plop it into her mouth. She ignored the fact that Aragorn was watching her to see her reaction as she was determined not to give him one. 'This isn't to…oh kami,' she thought as her face suddenly screwed up. It was way more sour than Earth lemons but she kept on chewing even though her cheeks were puckered up. After what seemed like forever, she finally swallowed the fruit. Immediately afterwards, she reached for her drink and drained the whole thing. It was only after she set the glass down did she notice that Aragorn was laughing at her, though he was trying to hide it.

Aragorn was trying his best to hide his laughter but once she finally noticed him and glared at him, he couldn't help it and let out booming laughter.

After a moment of glaring, Kagome finally had to laugh as well. It was definitely a unique experience for her. Both of them finally stopped laughing and she rolled her eyes and pointed at him, "Let's see you eat it with a straight face then."

Aragorn gave a small smirk before taking a bite of his own. He managed to almost chew it but ended up making a small face as he swallowed it as well. This earned him laughter from his companion for the day. He rolled his eyes in amused exasperation with her laughter and finally stood up. "Shall we get going for the day, milady? There is much to see and do today." He almost laughed at the excitement on her face and quickly realized how expressive she was. He found himself enjoying that.

"Let's get going then," Kagome exclaimed as she stood up. It was all she could do not to bounce in place in excitement. She was almost tempted to just drag Aragorn to the horses but she didn't know the way, which is why she carefully studied the way as they set off. She wanted to be able to move around on her own so she would have to memorize everything quickly.

The walk to the stables was absolutely breath taking. She wanted to study everything but knew that would come in time. When the stable finally came in site, she could only stare in awe at the very large horse waiting on them. 'There's no way I can get on that thing,' she thought as she came to a stop right behind Aragorn.

Aragorn watched her facial expressions as she took everything in. It was fascinating, almost like watching a child discovering the world around them for the first time but she definitely wasn't a child. 'She still feels so child-like and pure though. Even after all of the heart ache and betrayal and war that she has gone through, she still is amazed by the simple things,' he thought. He would admit that he liked that about her already and wanted to learn much more about her.

"Ready for the tour, milady?" Aragorn asked as he went up to the horse and got on easily. He then offered her a hand.

"Yes, but please just called me Kagome. Anything else just feels weird," she told him as he pulled her up on the horse. She was a little startled to realize she was riding in front of him instead of sitting behind him but she supposed it didn't really matter.

"Kagome it is then," Aragorn stated as he had both arms around her to hold onto the reins, though the horses could pretty much lead themselves.

Kagome nervously studied the horse in front of her and decided she wanted to pet it. She raised her hand to do so but stopped and turned her head towards Aragorn. Her look was good enough as Aragorn gave her a small smile and encouraged her to pet the horse. She had pet Kaede's horse once and its hair had been coarse but the hair on the elven horse was silky and soft. The horse also seemed to enjoy the attention. She then leaned back into Aragorn and told him she was ready to explore.

"Alright then, let's go explore the city, Asfaloth," Aragorn told the horse. Luckily he had already taken Glorfindel aside and asked to borrow his horse. After all, he knew the city by heart and was a very gentle horse when he needed to be.

'Amazing,' Kagome thought. She couldn't help but compare these horses to the ones on Earth and knew there was something different about them. They were far more intelligent. It almost reminded her of Kilala and how even though she couldn't talk, the little fire cat demon always understood them.

The next few hours were amazing to Kagome and very entertaining to Aragorn. Aragorn found her expressions endearing. It was easy to see that Kagome was amazed and loving the new world that she had been dropped in, at least the Elven city of Rivendell. Part of him wanted to show her more of the world. He wanted to see her expression for every new sight and he wanted to be the one to tell her about his world.

"This place is simply amazing, Aragorn. Does the rest of Middle Earth look like this?" Kagome asked him as they were headed back to the stables to return the horse. It was nearing supper time and she was starving. For lunch, they had only a few apples, which was one of the few foods that were similar to those in her world. She was glad for that.

"The Elven cities are quite breathtaking but there are many places in Middle Earth that I believe you would enjoy just as much. I would not mind showing you," Aragorn told her. He actually planned on asking her to travel with him. He was more than capable of protecting and providing for her and something about her drew him in and he wanted to figure out what it was.

"I think I would very much enjoy that," Kagome said as a small blush appeared on her face. She had enjoyed spending the entire day on horseback with him. At first she had been embarrassed about leaning against him on the horse but that quickly wore off as they talked. She wouldn't mind sticking close to him for a while. He was very knowledgeable about this world and didn't treat her as a freak, even though she was from a different world. There was just something about him that drew her in and she wanted to know what it was.

As they got closer to the stables, Kagome felt a presence up ahead that was unlike anything she had ever felt before. When she finally saw a face to the power she looked up at Aragorn to ask him who he was. Aragorn gave a big grin in response and had the horse go faster until he was standing by his old friend.

"Legolas, it is good to see you. I suppose if you are here then that means the council meeting will start soon," Aragorn said before shaking Legolas's hand.

"There are still a few days before the meeting. It is good to see you are well," Legolas said as he pulled back from the handshake and then he gave the girl with Aragorn a curious glance. She almost looked Elven but something felt different from her.

Aragorn, seeing Legolas's curious look, decided to introduce the two. He put his hands on Kagome's shoulders and looked at Legolas, "This is Lady Kagome and Lady Kagome may I introduce a friend of mine, his name is Legolas Greenleaf of Mirkwood."

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Lady Kagome," Legolas said as he studied the woman. He was definitely going to have to talk to Aragorn soon about her. He had never felt anything like her before and was curious.

"It is a pleasure to meet you as well," Kagome stated with a small smile on her face. She had always enjoyed meeting new people. His powers were amazing and his aura was one of the purest she had seen in a long time.

Aragorn got off first and then helped Kagome down. He decided to compliment her, "Not so bad for a first time on the horse. You'll be able to ride in no time at all, Kagome."

Kagome laughed at that and had to admit, "That was fun, but my luck I would fall off the first time by myself." She could see Aragorn laugh at that because she hadn't censored her clumsiness in her stories so he had to know how accident prone she was.

Legolas could only watch this exchange in amusement and in curiosity. It had been a long time since he had seen his friend this happy. He would most assuredly be talking to Aragorn about this Kagome girl now. Perhaps he would have some time to visit with her as well before the council started.

Kagome's stomach took that time to let its presence be known.

"It is dinner time at least. Let's all head inside and get something to eat," Aragorn suggested and Kagome and Legolas agreed. Aragorn had done decided they could go eat in his room and he could brief Legolas on Kagome and where she came from since he completely trusted him and would probably need his help as well.
