The Keyblade's Meaning

Keyblade, keyblade...

Invincible courage,
Inner strength,
Kindness to aid friends.

The Key to the Kingdom,
Repels and attracts the Heartless,
And me, it's chosen one,
Protects the light from the darkness.

Many forms available to me,
Noise from the Skull,
A Sweet Memory,
Even a One Winged Angel...

My friends are my power,
To fight the heartless,
In radiant light from Oathkeeper,
And from Oblivion's darkness.

Keyblade, Keyblade...

What exactly are you?
One of many questions that resurface.
Or what am I? If only I knew...
My reason to live. My purpose.

I am Nobody.
I am to collect hearts.
I am a shell, empty emotionally.
I am to complete Kingdom Hearts.

Yet... Why do I already... Feel?
The pain of another's hurt...
The joy of laughter's reel,
The anger from friends' desert...

I too wield Oblivion and Oath.
The Oath to return to ice cream under twilight,
With Axel and... "her" both,
"Her" memory lost being my Oblivion's blight.

Despite my struggle,
Everyone looks to Sora to bring an end.
The Keyblade Master, my double,
Will he accept my hurt to mend?

Keyblade, Keyblade...

Lost the power of the Kingdom,
Having fallen to darkness's hold.
Instead a Soul Eater fearsome,
Harboring the void - empty and cold.

Yet those who say they are friends,
The King, Sora, and many others,
Find the darkness's end,
Thus we begin to recover.

Time and again I call on the shadow,
In order to protect those close with my umber,
Even with his Oblivion in his Nobody's battle,
Guardian was called to awaken him from his slumber.

After awakening my friend.
After the Thirteen have gone,
After facing the dark dream descend,
I now walk - the Way to the Dawn.

Well, this is probably the last thing you'd expect from me huh? Instead of quitting or posting another chapter to a story, I post The Keyblade's Meaning. To tell the truth, I've had a lot on my mind and a lot to deal with lately, pushing my inspiration to type back. Whether I return to typing my stories and when, I don't know right now... I hope to finish what I've started, so don't take this as a good-bye or anything!

As for this poem, it's something that just came to me after playing various Kingdom Hearts games lately to take a break from everything going on. It's meant to describe Sora, Roxas, and Riku, their main keyblades, and, to an extent, I guess it helps express myself too. I don't expect this poem to be perfect or popular or anything, and I almost didn't post it at all, but I figured I'd post it in order to show something I was inspired to type and to let anyone who was curious know what's going on.

Whether you take this deep or not, I hoped you enjoyed regardless. Be sure to leave your thoughts and I hope to see you guys around.
