Gwen's POV Continued. This time with dialogue.

Apologies to anyone who think's I've ruined Merlin. I just wanted a little banter around with the two of them. They are good friends after all. And I like Gwens character. Bar the whole love for Arthur thing (Merthur trashes that). But since I have to do it and Merlin plays matchmaker for the two at times I have to get it there somehow.

Suddenly remembering her plans to distract Arthur Gwen quickly shot off down the corridor to find Merlin before Arthur got hold of him. It was a simple plan she had in mind, but it meant that at least they would have an evening together.

Turning the corner at the bottom of a staircase, Gwen spotted Merlin heading towards the corridor that would lead to his and Gaius's chambers.

"Merlin!"

He jumped, turning quickly. For a brief second that scared look appeared on his face, before he saw her, relaxed and smiled.

"Hey Gwen, everything ok?"

Ignoring what she saw, Gwen spoke.

"Everything's fine, I'm here to ask a favour of you actually."

Merlin looked at her quizzically, cocking his head, before replying.

"As long as it doesn't involve Emrys I'm all for it, I'm going nuts here running around after the prat."

"Well then you'll like this," Gwen replied, putting her hands together, "Arthur needs a distraction. And I just want him to relax. So, I was wondering if you minded taking the night off tonight so that I could have dinner with him. I'll sort out and serve the food I don't mind that. I just want to spend some time with him."

Merlin looked almost apologetic. She had no idea why. It's not like it's his fault Arthur's still hunting for Emrys.

"Please Merlin, help me here" Gwen pushed, putting on her best puppy dog eyes, "It'll benefit us all."

Merlin laughed at that.

"Gwen, you didn't even need to say please. I will gladly take the night off. I need a break badly. But I can just bring up the food for both of you if you'd like though at least before I go. The future Queen of Camelot shouldn't be serving herself." He made a small bow to her.

"Merlin" she laughed, hitting him on the head lightly "Don't say that. I know he cares for me but I really haven't thought that far ahead."

Grinning whilst straightening up, Merlin replied.

"Trust me Gwen. Arthur will have. He might not have shown much affection recently but still I've seen him go all lovey dovey eyed at you when he thinks no one is looking. He's definitely seen you as his Queen."

Gwen blushed. She was very happy to know that at least he did still have feelings towards her. She had had a couple of moments at times where she had begun to doubt he still cared as much, too obsessed with Emrys to think of her. But Merlin's words were really reassuring. Made her believe a bit more again. A picture appeared in her mind. Her standing with Arthur as his wife. His Queen. The love clear in his eyes. It was what she wanted. It really was.

"Hello? Gwen?"

She jumped. Merlin was looking at her with an eyebrow raised, hand in front of her face.

"You having a little fantasy moment there? I don't want details if it's anything more than kissing. Then again, I don't really want to know about kissing either." Merlin rambled, scratching the back of his neck.

"Merlin?"

"Yeah?"

"You don't need to know what I was thinking."

Merlin grimaced at that.

"Merlin I was not thinking of anything dirty. Get your head out of the gutter."

He shook his head and laughed, Gwen joining in. Merlin could seem so innocent at times. But there were just moments where that innocence went out the window. Where he picked it up from she wasn't sure. Though Gwaine probably had something to do with it knowing him.

"Alright alright I'll believe you." He said, looking everything like he didn't believe her at all. How rude. "But this is diverting off the point anyway. Do you want me to bring up the food and serve it for you?"

Gwen shook her head.

"No Merlin it's fine. Honestly. Leave it all to me. Thank you. And don't tell him either I want to surprise him."

"Alright then I won't say a word. You enjoy your evening then. Hope it all goes well."
