It was just a random pick from the list okay? Besides, I'm kinda itching to post this one really. Have fun.

summary: I'd like to know how you relate romance with science

When she was thirteen, she met him in middle school. They shared the same interests and hobby, but it didn't mean that she can beat him on top. Two nerds who met on the first day of school, he was best at everything and she always comes at the second place. She didn't mind it and instead, focused on learning more from him. After a few months, Cupid took a strike on her heart.

When she was seventeen, he started to change. From the old-fashioned clothes and hairstyle, he used contacts and made his hair unruly. That made the girls' hearts beating faster and they went to him, pleading him to tutor them when in the first place, all they wanted was to have a taste of him. She cannot just shoo them away. According to him, she was just a friend, nothing else. But she wanted more than that.

When she was eighteen, she sneaked in a love letter in his bag. He was known that time as the school's top guy and confessing to him would mean having guts to go against the girls who flocked around him. The day after, he just told her flatly that he would rather stay friends. She accepted the consequence, even though it wasn't fine.

And when she was nineteen, she started to pretend. Every smile on her face was a fake one, along with the things she does and her self entirely. No one knew except for Erza, the one who has been rooting for the two. But it didn't change the fact that he doesn't love her and she doesn't deserve this. Feeling all alone, she strayed away from him and decided to cut off things without a word.

On the last day of school, she went alone in their old classroom. She had gone on a trip down memory lane as she reminisces the first time she set foot in his world. She walked towards the very seat on the back near the window, tracing the desk with her fingertips as she remembers their first conversation. Gray wanted to make sure that his answer was correct so he turned back and showed her his solution. When he found out that he was wrong, he was quite annoyed with her explanation. It was the first time she defeated him in a number and he didn't look pleased. Nonetheless, he still considered her right.

"So I should subtract 0.1915 from 0.5 instead of adding it together?"

"Yes, Gray-sama."

"Then it will become 0.3085 and when multiplied by 100, 30.85%. Am I right?"

"Correct."

Her face held a bitter smile. Those were the times when she could freely talk to him. It was a mere memory that held so many things that made her morose and wished that her feelings would just fade away like dust in the wind. A lone tear fell from her eye, leaving a tiny mess on the desk as her mind was filled with images of the old times. Another tear followed until rain came out from her eyes. All those feelings, she can't hold it in anymore, so she lets it all out.

If only... If only I could turn back time...

She closed her eyes shut.

I wish I never loved you.

But it was a mere wish that won't be granted by him. He stood by the door, leaning on it and stating the content of her letter.

"I know that there's a 0% probability of you thinking of me as a girlfriend."

He took a few strides and she shook her head, thinking that it was a dream. He begged to differ.

"I know that you'll have an opposite reaction with this action of mine."

Her eyes widened in shock, feeling his presence on her back. It can't be!

"I know that you won't need me to make it the two of us as lovers."

His fingers ghosted on her waist and her breathing halted to a stop. He's really there, for Mavis' sake!

Go away.

"But I love you."

Please...

He finally wrapped his arms around her and buried his face on the crook of her neck. She only looked away, not wanting to face him.

"I've known that universal language ever since I first met you."

She grasped his hands and tried to remove them, only for him to hold her hands in his and tighten his embrace.

"I won't demand for any supply of that thing."

His breath was dangerously close to her ear which sent shivers down her spine.

Stop! Any more than this—

"I just wrote it on this paper so you will know," he whispered the final words.

—my heart won't take it.

"That's the content of your letter," he stated in a matter-of-fact tone, placing a hand on the window glass. "I won't be able to say it word per word if I didn't reread it for many times."

She just stayed silent, comprehending their situation: he was so close to her, his arms around her waist and the two of them in front of the window where someone might see them. When her gaze shot up on their faint reflection, she immediately spotted him looking straight at her eyes. Before she could remove herself from his grasp, he turned her face to his and silenced her with a kiss.

She pulled away to stop his ministrations. "Sto—"

He cut her off with another kiss, colliding the nearby desks with each other and gently placing her there when her knees buckled from the sensation. When Juvia intended to run away from him, he hovered on top, caging her with all his might and removing her eyeglasses. She was about to speak when he kissed her for the third time, her lips struggling to utter words that might make him back from the usual person he is. She clutched his hair to alarm his senses, only for him to groan and deepen the kiss. It made her resolve go futile until she started to respond to his affectionate actions, making out with him in their old classroom on top of the desks.

She was too stunned to say a word when he pulled away from her lips, her tie was on his finger and she had to touch her hair to find out that it cascaded down into blue waves. He was smirking, like a kid who had just won the prize of his silly game.

"You're wrong, got that?" He leaned his forehead against her, brushing his thumb on her cheek. "I've always wanted to do this to you."

Juvia raised a brow, her chest heaving as if she's sucking the air in the room. To answer her silent question, he gently kissed her forehead.

"All the things you know, they're the opposite," he admitted, "I'm sorry if I only said it now."

Her blue eyes watered up again. "Then why did Gray-sama told Juvia that he'd rather stay friends?"

"I didn't want to hurt you." His kiss trailed down her cheek, then to her neck. "But I can't take just that."

She lifted up his face gently and cupped his cheek. "If Gray-sama is in pain, isn't that the same way as hurting Juvia too?"

He leaned his face towards her hand and held it, kissing it tenderly. "I know. I'm sorry."

"Does this mean you would rather us be more than friends?"

He nodded. "I like how it sounds."

Meanwhile...

"Why is Erza so happy?" Natsu asked Lucy, observing as the redhead munches her strawberry cake with a smile.

Lucy shrugged. "I guess something happened wonderful to her."

They didn't know that the cause of her happiness was Gray and Juvia being together.

One down. Next are these two, she thought, watching Natsu and Lucy bicker as usual.
