Note: This is a Sonourge [Sonic x Scourge] story. This is also an AU. In this story, Sonic and Amy are brother and sister [because that's how I see them].

Sonic woke up and rubbed his eyes. Just another day of high school. He thought. He quickly changed into his school uniform and went downstairs to see his sister, Amy, making breakfast. "Hey, Ames." he yawned. She smiled. "Hey, Sonic. You ready for today?" she asked. Sonic sat down at the table. "What are you talking about?" he asked. Amy chuckled. "Sonic, we're getting a new student today. The teacher told us yesterday. But, you were too busy gawking at Sally Acorn to notice." she said, giving him a plate of food. "Oh. Okay..." he said. Amy sat down. "Do you think the new student will be a boy?" she asked. Sonic shrugged. "If it is, he'd better stay away from Sally." he said. Amy rolled her eyes. "Sonic, she already said that she didn't want to go out with you." Sonic rested his head in his palm and played with his food. "She just has to warm up to me, is all." he said, unconvincingly.

Later on, at school, Sonic sat down at his desk. He watched as Sally walked in with her group of popular girls. He sighed, knowing that trying to talk to her would result in a harsh rejection. So, instead, he stayed in his seat. Then, the teacher walked into the classroom. He was followed by a green hedgehog with light blue eyes. "Class, this is Scourge. He's the new student I informed you of yesterday." the teacher said.

Most of the students just stared at Scourge, wondering about different things to ask him. Sally and her group were mostly watching Scourge the way a dog stares at a big, juicy bone. Sonic decided not to look at the new student.

"So, Scourge, who would you like to escort you around the school?" the teacher asked. Everyone jumped at the opportunity. Scourge scanned the classroom... until his eyes landed on Sonic. "Him." he said, pointing directly at Sonic. Sonic flinched a little. "Okay, then. Sonic, you will be escorting Scourge around the school today." Teacher [he has no name as of right now] said. Sonic groaned, but nodded.

During the day, Sonic showed Scourge where all of his classrooms were, and the quickest ways to get there. "So, what made you choose me?" Sonic asked, crossing his arms. Scourge shrugged. "There was just something about you I liked." he said. Sonic looked over at him. He could have sworn that sounded like a pick-up line. He decided to let it go.

"So, what was he like?" Amy asked her brother on the way home. Sonic shrugged. "He was okay..." he said. Actually, Sonic thought that Scourge was a pretty great guy. But, he wanted to make sure that no one thought too much of this guy. He had seen the way Sally was looking at him. Sonic wanted absolutely no competition.

Later on, Sonic got a call from someone. "Hello?" he said. There was a short silence. "This is Sonic, right?" a voice said. "Scourge? How did you get my number?" Sonic asked. "Meet me at the park." Scourge instructed, completely ignoring Sonic's question. Then, he hung up. Sonic shrugged and set out for the park.

Once he got there, he saw Scourge sitting on a bench. He looked over and saw Sonic. He stood up and walked over to him. "So, what did you want to-"

"I love you." Scourge said. Sonic stopped breathing for a few seconds. Then, he chuckled nervously. "W-w... what?" he asked. Scourge smirked at him. "I love you." he repeated. Then, he walked away, leaving Sonic confused and a little scared.
