Beca observed Chloe as she stood looking so small and timid infront of her, she looked so fragile.

"Becs, go on. It's completely fine I promise, I'm just gonna head home. You should go and see Stacey" Chloe said as she gave Beca her best reassuring smile.

"Look just…just wait here one second"

"Becs honestly-"

"Stop" Beca interrupted

"Promise me you'll wait here" Chloe hesitantly nodded

"Okay"

"Promise?"

"I promise" the red head replied as the brunette gave a small smile before jogging off towards Stacey's direction.

As Beca approached Stacey she could see how anxious the brunette looked, they became locked in a gaze as Beca came to a stop infront of her.

"Hey" Beca said out of breath, she didn't really know how she was going to begin the conversation but figured hey would be a good place to start.

"Hey you, why do I have a feeling that you've suddenly lost your appetite" Stacey asked with a slight grin on her face.

"What do you mean?" Beca asked, knowing fine well that Stacey had already guessed what Beca was thinking.

Stacey tilted her head towards the brunette "Beca come on…"

Beca tried to suppress the guilt she could feel as she looked at Stacey stood infront of her, she knew how much the brunette cared for her but it just couldn't contend with what Chloe and her had.

"How did you-"

"How did I know you were madly in love with the beautiful red head that clearly reciprocates your feelings? It wasn't too hard to figure out" Stacey smile at Beca.

"That obvious huh?"

"Kinda" Stacey winked at Beca "I just thought I should try with you atleast" she smiled defeated as she spoke.

Beca took a couple more steps towards Stacey "I'm sorry Stace, I don't know what to say" pulling her arms around Stacey she pulled her towards her, Beca wasn't a one to usually initiate hugs but she needed to console her friend.

She gently let her arms drop from around her "Stacey if I wasn't-"

"Stop Becs, it's fine honestly. Just do me a favour" she tilted her head as she spoke.

"Anything?"

"Go get your girl" Stacey smiled at Beca and kissed her on the cheek as she turned around and made her way back inside.

She knew how much of an amazing person Stacey was, but tonight's actions just confirmed that for her.

Grinning to herself, Beca turned around to see Chloe walking away in the distance, Beca's eyes widened as she realised Chloe was walking further and further away.

Instantly Beca began to sprint towards the red head trying to reach her

"CHLOE, Wait up!"

Chloe kept up her pace as she tried to increase the distance between her and Beca, managing to grab onto the red heads arm Beca stopped her in her tracks.

"Chlo, where are you going?"

"Beca…" Chloe turned around to face Beca, her eyes glistening with tears as the vague moonlight bounced off of them

"I'm not gonna stand in the way of your happiness. Stacey is clearly into you and she's not a coward like me, she's out and…I can't…" as the red head's voice trailed off, her head dropped to the ground.

"Hey" Beca gently lifted Chloe's chin so she was looking at her as she spoke.

"You are not a coward, if anyone is then I am"

Chloe's confusion was apparent as Beca continued to explain

"I'm a coward for not trying with you, as soon as you said you wanted to keep us quiet I shot you down. Instead of understanding what you were saying, I just put my walls up and assumed it was because you were ashamed of me. So yeah, I'm the coward here"

"Becs" Chloe took a step forward towards Beca

"I would never be ashamed of you, I would be proud to be with you. Its other people, the looks the talking"

"I get it, honestly I do. When I was first out all people were doing were staring at me as I walked around school, I could hear them all talking"

Beca had never disclosed any of this to before, she didn't want people to know that she had noticed just how much people had made a spectacle of her.

"I'd be lying if I said it didn't bother me, it did. I guess I thought I could protect you from all that"

Biting her bottom lip as she looked to the ground, Beca knew she was letting her walls down by telling Chloe this. She also knew that this was the only way for Chloe to understand why she done/said what she had.

"Well, I'd be lying if the thought of Beca Mitchell wanting to protect me didn't make me swoon" Chloe replied with her signature smirk.

The two girls were still stood outside the school in darkness, neither one knowing what to do from here.

"Do you wanna maybe go get something to eat? Or we can go for a walk" Beca suggested

"Because I'm guessing the whole of the student body are about to stampede out of the doors pretty soon"

"Sounds good" Chloe smiled as she clutched her forehead "Hopefully a walk will help clear this headache that has suddenly appeared"

Beca laughed "Yeah sounds like your hangover is about to kick in, considering how drunk you were, I'm guessing if you don't eat soon you'll be in a world of pain!"

"Hey, I wasn't that wasted" Chloe teased the brunette, nudging her as they both began to slowing walk away together.

Once they arrived at a diner, Beca and Chloe both ordered their food as they sat opposite each other in their booth.

"So really…how have you been? Yano…since you wanted nothing more to do with me" Beca tried to keep the bite out of her tone, not wanting to backtrack on where her and Chloe were.

"That's not fair Beca, you know it didn't go down like that. And if I'm being perfectly honest, I've been pretty shitty"

The guilt that washed over Beca was instant, although both girls were at fault, just seeing the red head upset got to Beca.

"I've not been too great either, Chlo please can I just say that absolutely nothing went on with me and Aubrey. You know I would never go near her"

Chloe nodded "I know, it just looked messed up Beca. When you came to my house it was still fresh I didn't properly process it. Trust me, I know exactly how manipulative Aubrey can be. It stung"

The last statement Chloe locked eyes with Beca, the air between the two became clouded full of tension.

"Here we go girls" thankful for the interruption, the waitress placed the plate of fries and burgers in front of the two girls before making her way back to the kitchen.

"I'm so embarrassed about earlier" the red head dropped her eyes to the plate of fries infront of her, playing with one as she spoke.

"I can't believe I got that shit faced, I was way out of line in the toilet with what I said to you"

"I still haven't had a pee" Beca smirked trying to lighten the mood.

"It's cool, some stuff I guess I may have deserved…"

Chloe tilted her head as she surveyed Beca's reaction.

"But…"

Beca smiled back "But…I just. I wasn't even bothered about the things you said apart from one"

Chloe sat silent with her eyes furrowed allowing the brunette to continue.

"Were you really gonna sleep with that asshole? " Beca tried to ask in a way that didn't make her sound as vulnerable as she felt right now.

Chloe instantly shifted in her seat, her cheeks were even giving off a little glow of pink as Beca sat watching her actions.

"Of course not" Chloe answered in a serious tone.

"It was a dumb thing to insinuate when I had no intention of ever doing that, I haven't even kissed him. Or anyone for that matter since, well whatever we…started"

Beca smiled, feeling elated inside knowing Chloe hadn't gone near anyone since her and Beca had shared several kisses.

Then a new feeling washed over her.

"I'm glad, it's such a cliché thing to say but you really do deserve better than that dick. I umm gotta be honest though, I, erm kinda kissed Stacey tonight"

Deciding she didn't want to keep this from Chloe, she nervously waited for Chloe's reaction.

Chloe's shoulders had tensed up, and her jaw had slightly tightened. Within seconds her demeanour changed as she still sat in silence looking blankly at Beca.

"You kissed Stacey" Chloe repeated outload, almost as if to help it sink in.

"I did, I'm not gonna give you some bullshit story of she kissed me, I kissed her as much as she kissed me. It wasn't even out of some revenge, she's an amazing girl"

Chloe slowly nodded as once again her eyes were cast on the table infront of her, her actions were completely still apart from her slow nodding head.

"You can't force feelings for people, as amazing as she is there was no spark there. I guess she maybe felt we did but, I didn't. Not like with you."

Chloe brought her head up to look at Beca, her bright blue eyes staring into the brunettes. Beca's words hung in the air between them, both afraid to say anything else.

Chloe was the first to break to tension

"I think them fries have worked their magic, my head isn't pounding as much" she stated smiling.

"Well that's got to be the shortest hangover ever recorded"

Chloe laughed as she wiped her mouth with her napkin before scrunching it up and chucking it on the empty plate infront of her.

"Okay" Chloe began as she leaned forward on the table with her arms folded.

"I have a proposition"

Beca was instantly intrigued at what Chloe was going to suggest, she was sure at this point she would pretty much agree to anything the red head proposed.

"Come back to my house with me? My parents are away, they said they wanted to give me prom space, whatever the hell that means. I just don't really want to be alone tonight"

Slightly thrown by Chloe's question Beca had a quick evaluation of the situation, but really she knew there was absolutely nothing to evaluate.

"Guess I could do that" Beca calmly replied trying to act cool about it, the two smiled at each other before edging their way out of their booth and making their way to Chloe's.

Arriving back at Chloe's had been nothing but nerve wracking for Beca, as they both made their way to Chloe's room.

"Here" Chloe threw a t-shirt at Beca for her to sleep in.

Beca smiled a thanks as she anxiously turned her back to the red head and scrambled to remove her dress and throw the t-short on.

"You look stunning tonight Beca, that dress was unbelievable on you"

"Thanks" Beca shyly replied as she scooted into Chloe's bed next to her.

"You always look stunning" Beca retorted.

"Always the charmer"

Beca and Chloe were now facing each other in bed, Beca tried to absorb the nights events in the comfortable silence that had settled between them.

"Yano if someone had told me I would end my night like this…with you…I wouldn't have believed them" Chloe stated softly

"You're telling me" Beca laughed.

"So you wouldn't prefer to be here with Stacey right now then?"

"Of course not" Beca shook her head with a confused smile on her face as she continued on.

"If I was ever going to be with someone...in bed...on prom night. It would be the person I'm with right now"

Once again the air between the pair became thick, although the room was in darkness they could still make out each other's facial expressions.

The tension between the pair had been rising all night, Beca couldn't describe how intense her feelings were for the red head.

"Kiss me"

Chloe muttered the words so seductively that Beca had to almost stop herself from moaning in reply.

Beca swallowed hard as her right hand instinctively travelled behind the red heads neck bringing her closer to Beca's face.

Completing the distance between the pair, Beca's whole insides began to flutter, their lips gently moved against each other as they poured their feelings into the kiss.

Chloe grabbed onto Beca's t-shirt, scrunching it in her fist as she tried to pull the brunette closer to her.

Realising she needed to part so she could once again breathe, Beca gently pulled her head back. She gazed back at Chloe who still had her eyes gently closed from the kiss.

Her head was reeling as she tried to control her emotions raging through her body, asking herself how this night was going to play out for the pair.
