Summary: Now that he remembered her and the others, every Holiday he would make something that they had made when he had been alive and lay it on their graves. The Guardians never bothered to ask where he was so he never told them. Rise of the Guardians.

It had been ten years since he had become a Guardian, Jamie and his friends were becoming adults and though they still put cookies out for Santa and went searching for eggs at Easter, it had become more about remembering the day that they had all become friends than the Holidays themselves.

Jack watched them grow up, sometimes stopping to talk to them as he made a snow day but as they grew older he began distancing himself on the Holidays, and on the days that he drifted by he found that they hadn't noticed his absence.

Even the Guardians didn't make a habit of getting together, Jack dropped in after their Holidays or during the day to see the others only to find out that they were already planning next year. So he stopped going to them except when they were called together.

He spent his off season going through his memories, he would watch himself making games for the younger children and he remembered his village's name and when Mother's day came again he left a pink rose on his Mother's grave.

When Easter came he painted an egg for his little sister, carefully blowing the insides out so it wouldn't smell, and when Christmas followed he left a string of popcorn and ribbon.

The Guardians never noticed what he did and the fact that he showed up promptly to the meetings surprised all of them.

For a spirit he was still quite young after all.

Then North called a meeting and Jack didn't show up.

Jack sat in the middle of his lake, solid ice even in the middle of summer; then again it had been that way since he had fallen through it all those years ago. When Jack closed his eyes he could see the images of himself and his sister gliding across the surface, he kept replaying the moments before the ice cracked because everything before then had been perfect.

"Jack…Jack." A feminine voice called and Jack opened his eyes as he whirled around to look at the Guardians, who stood at the edge of the lake, hovering in Tooth and Sandy's case.

"Something the matter?" Jack asked as he let himself drift to the lake surface.

"Called meeting." North boomed.

"Sorry." Jack said, "I didn't see the lights."

"Why not?" Bunny asked, arms crossed.

Jack shrugged.

"Jack, you know you can tell us anything." Tooth murmured, moving closer.

Jack leaned away from her, giving her a look.

"Why should I, it's not like we see each other outside of protecting the children." Jack explained.

Tooth and North opened their mouths to protest only to find they couldn't.

"Exactly." Jack said hovering again. "You're all busy, I get that but even right after your Holidays were over you didn't even take a moment to say hi. It's been ten years!" Jack shouted.

Tooth covered her mouth.

Jack sighed, "We shouldn't only see each other when the children are in danger, we should get to know each other, the other spirits don't really like the Guardians, so, we're all we have."

Sandy nodded.

"We have Family days!" North decided. "After Christmas and Easter."

"Eh… A week after Easter, I need time to catch up on sleep." Bunny interrupted.

Jack watched the argument began with a slight smile, while Tooth tried to stop it and Sandy fell asleep. He would still be able to visit his mother and sister, but he would become part of a new family too.
