Welp, here we are the last chapter of Unova. Kalos is up next and in case you didn't read the giant CAPS message above, I'll be taking three weeks to plan out everything happening in the Kalos Arc. Takes time to find all the remaining OCs, pokemon, events, and other crazy notes I've got everywhere :P So anyways, I hope you all enjoy the last chapter of the Unova Arc.

The trees were swaying in a light wind. It was oddly silent on this side of the mountain. The group might have heard the cry of a single Braviary high above and that was all. The Zoroark leading them was just as quiet, only looking behind a couple times to see if they were all still there. Pikachu and Ellie walked on either side of Ash. They weaved through the woods on the worn trail until they reached a cave that was in the face of a bluff. The Zoroark glanced at them once before stepping into the shadows.

Ash and the others paused in front of the dark hole.

"There's a lot of strong pokemon wandering around in there," Ash warned. Everyone accepted the new information before entering. Ash asked Ellie not to use Flash since it would possibly attract the wild pokemon to them. He also lead everyone carefully through the darkness until they were face to face with the Zoroark again. He was sitting in front of an exit which seemed to be a crack in a stone wall of some kind. Everyone entered single file, having to crouch to get through.

On the other side, they were met with tall walls of polished stone, torn and ripped carpets and tapestries with a very familiar insignia on them. It was a shield of black and white with a blue P crossed through with a stylized Z. N walked forward a little quicker than the rest and stood quietly in the center of the hall.

"This is what Ghetsis ultimately had planned for me? This sort of… kingdom?" N questioned and looked around at the cracked walls, Spinarak webs were all over the place. Touko moved forward and placed a hand on N's shoulder.

"You escaped though and that's what matters."

N sighed. "But the one before me didn't."

Everyone looked up and saw Zoroark sitting beside a door. They walked over in that direction when Ash paused.

"There are four people in that room… It's the Triad and Ghetsis."

Everyone froze in place at that. Was it some kind of trap? The Zoroark wasn't of a dark aura. Ash saw Zoroark's ears go up at his words and it growled before leaping into the room. After a look at everyone, the group walked into the room, poke balls drawn.

The first thing they heard in the room was the quietest melody that sounded as though it was coming from a music box. The tune was a slightly distorted one. The room was full of toys and children's things and N was having a bit of panic at the similar features this room shared with the one he remembered growing up in. Everyone's eyes locked on a man at the far end of the room, it was none other than Ghetsis sitting on the floor behind a skateboard ramp. The Triad was standing around him, still. He was holding a music box which was making the melody. Zoroark was staring at the four people, but not attacking. The music box stopped and Ghetsis tried to twist it up again only to lose strength.

"That Robles fellow… he really is a monster. I knew you aura people were monsters." Ghetsis spoke and glared over at the group.

Misty was going to say something, when N interrupted.

"What kind of sick man are you!? You warped someone then killed them when they didn't suit your needs and then you go and try to do it to me and my sisters…"

"My N had sisters as well… they're dead too. They killed themselves though. After N was taken care of… I had groomed them to serve N for all his days. They lived to do that and only that and when he was gone, they had nothing to live for. They were my children, you and your sisters were… found. I made you into their copies. I wanted to try again."

N became enraged. "A life is not something you can just redo like that!" Angry and heated tears dotted the corners of his eyes.

Ghetsis merely smiled cruelly at N. "No… don't you see? Pokemon, children, even full grown human beings can be so easily manipulated. It's whoever can trick them the best wins. That's the game, son."

"Don't you DARE call me that!" N roared and started to march forward. The Triad turned to face him but remained in place.

"He's dying, N. Don't waste your energy doing anything."

Everyone paused and looked at Ash, who was staring at Ghetsis evenly.

"Damn wretches, aura people…" Ghetsis spoke in response.

N turned slowly to look at Ash.

"It's like a spiderwebbing void on his side. It's… similar to the grey zone. I think it's corruption. His aura is draining from a wound in his side." Ash shifted, though his eyes never left Ghetsis.

"Robles sliced me. I suppose I was no longer useful to Giovanni. I guess…" Ghetsis suddenly started to cough, blood oozed from the side of his mouth. His body started to become petrified from the ground up. "I guess he wins the game. This world is his now." A few moments later, Ghetsis was no more than a stone statue.

"This is the room that Lord N met his end. It's poetic that his father should fall here as well," One of the Triad spoke.

Another looked up at them hard. "Leave now. We no longer have reason to exist. Lord Ghetsis breathes no more."

"We must preform Seppuku."

"Guys, let's go." Brock spoke up and started to usher Max, who was closest to him, out of the room. Everyone slowly started to leave, Touko finally pulling N out of the room. Zoroark followed them.

Back in the hallway, they all stood looking at the ground. Max finally gulped.

"Are those ninja-guys… really going to kill themselves?"

"It's wrong… to not help someone, but those men…" May started.

"They would've attacked us if we had tried to stop them," Ash murmured. Misty looked at Ash worriedly, seeing that his eyes were still blue. No doubt he'd know the moment they were… done.

"I need to move him."

The group glanced up at N except for Ash.

"What do you mean?" Touko asked. She'd been holding his hand the entire time after they'd left the room.

"The Triad said that the other N… he died in that room. If there are any remains… I want to give him a proper place to rest."

"N, you shouldn't burden yourself with that." Touko squeezed his hand tighter.

"What about Ghetsis and the Triad? They were evil men, but…" Cress spoke up.

"Normally I'd agree," Ash spoke up, "But we can't touch their bodies. Ghetsis is poisoned by the corruption and the Triad will die too close to him. Even the other N's remains may be poisoned. If we want to give them a burial, it may have to wait until the corruption is completely sealed away again. I think their petrified bodies will turn to ash then. "Once it's over… I'll go in with you and tell you if at the very least N's remains are safe before then."

N nodded. "Thank you, Ash."

After several minutes went by, Misty noticed Ash's face change.

"They're gone."

Max looked down at the floor as Brock's hand met the younger boy's back to comfort him.

Ash and N then walked in after Touko had given N a large white cloth from her bag. Zoroark had followed them inside as well. After about ten more minutes, Ash and N came back out with Zoroark still on their tails. N was cradling a full cloth tied at the top. No one said a word as they followed Zoroark back out of the castle and away from this sad and empty place.

Ash was the last one to leave. "Giovanni hasn't won Ghetsis. You were wrong."

Ash came outside the cave to see Brock's Sandslash digging a grave as carefully as possible. After the pokemon was done, N walked forward and put the remains of the other N into the hole. Sandslash covered it up and Touko came over and placed some wildflowers on the mound. Drew walked over and shoved a stone, with Gary's help, into the dirt as a marker.

"I hope… You can rest peacefully, brother." N had his head bowed slightly. Though the other N wasn't technically his brother by blood, much like his own sisters weren't, the two had a bond that almost no one else could ever understand. "I'll tell my Concordia and Anthea about you and your sisters." Zoroark was sitting beside N and rose his head to Howl. With each Howl the sound grew louder, until the dark type finally grew quiet again.

Ash kneeled and looked into Zoroark's eyes. Where will you go?

Zoroark locked eyes with the Guardian. I will go find Lady Rosa, Guardian. Hugh may be her mate now, but she was the closest thing my Master had to a true human friend. He would've wanted me to guard her and hers for the rest of the time I have on this earth. Thank you, all of you, for doing this. My need to guard him… is no longer required. He will rest here.

Ash nodded and rose as everyone watched Zoroark turn and trot into the forest, disappearing into the shadows.

"Where is he going?" Gary asked.

"To Rosa."

With a brief glance at each other, everyone started heading the other way, so they could get down the mountainside. After they were gone, a Pidove fluttered about after leaving the cover of the trees and landed on the stone marker. Another one came and landed there as well; the two nudged each other before they both took off again. A couple of Deerling were grazing nearby within the underbrush. Another lone Braviary call sounded from the endless blue heavens above as the wind rustled the wildflowers on the grave the tiniest bit.

"So I guess this is goodbye again," Ash spoke sadly.

Everyone was standing on the road, just being away from the old Plasma Castle had lifted their moods the tiniest bit. N and Touko were going their own way.

"Yes. Now that Team Plasma is no more… I suppose my new mission is to get strong enough to help you and your friends fight this Giovanni at some point. Touko has taught me a lot, but I need more time." N placed his thumb under the strap of his backpack.

Touko smiled happily. "Don't worry. I'll whip this newbie trainer into shape."

N blushed slightly and rubbed the back of his head. Gary leaned over to whisper in Drew's ear. "And I thought you were whipped." Drew nodded before he furrowed his brows and glared at Gary. Gary snorted in amusement when Drew elbowed him.

"It was wonderful seeing you both again," Cilan spoke brightly.

"Yeah! You two take care of yourselves, understand?" Iris added.

"We will, thank you. Until next time!" N called out and waved as he and Touko walked away, the opposite direction the group was headed.

"Well, I guess we're off to Lacunosa now," Brock stated as he pulled out a map.

"Let's get going. If we keep up our progress, we'll have a few months to train after gathering the tokens," Paul expressed. "Kalos is next up. It's a large region so we'll take longer to get from town to town there."

Max perked up and moved faster to walk beside Paul. "They have a Pokedex that's split into three parts because of how large the region is."

"Exactly, that means a lot of walking," Gary replied.

"Aren't you just a ray of sunshine," Misty grumbled. Ash laughed next to her.

Dawn looked and saw that Ritchie was in thought.

"Hey Ritchie, what up?" Dawn asked.

Ritchie looked up at her then everyone. "Oh well… I was just wandering what happened to Ghetsis and the Triad's pokemon. I didn't see them on them."

"That is odd," Drew murmured.

The group tried not to think about it too much though as they continued their way to Lacunosa.

zzz-Second Group-zzz

"So that's the location the Pokemon World Tournament Junior Cup, huh?" Clemont spoke up as the group walked through Lacunosa.

"Yes indeed," Burgundy responded.

"Yep, good memories. A shame we're all no longer qualified to enter it unless personally invited like the champions," Stephan sighed and folded his arms behind his neck.

"We're too good for them now," Cameron grinned.

"Junior means any trainer that hasn't be apart of any multi-region tournament or beaten a champion in an official battle. The Master Challenge definitely bars us now," Zoey nodded.

"Lacunosa is really beautiful, Burgundy. I can see why growing up here might have been fun," Serena smiled.

"Oui, the winter time was especially beautiful. All the children would come and build a bonhomme de neige." Burgundy smiled.

"A what?" Barry asked.

"A snowman," Trip responded.

Georgia looked over at her boyfriend and rose a brow. "You know french?"

Trip snorted. "No, not like Burgundy or Cress. It's just my parents tried to get me to learn other languages and even how to play the piano. If I hadn't begged to become a trainer at ten then you'd probably have found me in a suit and tie playing at recitals."

Georgia laughed. "I honestly can't imagine that, but really? You know a couple languages AND how to play an instrument?"

Trip shrugged. "I would say more accurately that I am familiar with a couple languages and the piano. I'm no kind of multi-linguist or musician for certain. At least, I wouldn't call myself that."

"I remember the jazz players that used to play on the river near Carmela's. It was a sad and sweet lullaby." Harley mused.

"Are we almost to your home, Burgundy?" Solidad asked.

"Yes, right here," Burgundy replied.

The group found themselves in front of a medium sized home. It had red and yellow flowers growing in the front. The door and roof was a calm ocean blue that contrasted with the rest of the ivory home. Burgundy walked forward and knocked on the door.

"Mère, Grand-mère, ce est moi. Je suis ici avec mes amis," Burgundy called through the door. (Mother, Grandmother, it's me. I'm here with my friends.)

"Bourgogne, ce est que vous, ma chère?" (Burgundy, is that you, dear?)

"Yes, grandmother."

The door opened slowly to reveal a woman in her seventies. Her hair was grey-white and in a bun and her eyes were a frosty blue. She was wearing an apron over her red shirt and tan slacks.

"Oh hello there Burgundy," She noticed all the others, "And friends! Come in, come in. You're mother's at the market, but she should be back soon. We were just about to make a roast together."

Everyone made their way inside the house and made themselves comfortable. Solidad and Harley said they would go to get more food at the market as well and left once everyone was inside.

"Grandma, did mother… has mother gone to the cavern last weekend?"

Everyone paused from what they'd started chatting about and looked at Burgundy and her grandmother.

"Burgundy… of course child. Do you think she'd forget?"

"Kyurem doesn't seem like he'd be mean enough to eat someone, are you sure that's what happened?" Bianca suddenly blurted. She clapped her hands over her mouth when Burgundy's grandmother gave her a funny look.

The older woman smiled sadly. "Oh no no… that's just a fable the people hear like to tell visitors. What most mean when they say Kyurem ate them, is that the icy storm that used to rage in the Icy Cavern north of here would clam them. It hasn't been present in that place though for several years now. They say the great ice dragon found a new home somewhere else, far from people, a castle that's formed of ice."

"The Full Court," Zoey nodded.

"Mother, I'm home."

Everyone turned from their positions on the chairs, couch and floor to see another woman enter the room. She was in her forties. She had on a pale green shirt and white skirt that stopped at her knees. Her hair was a duller purple color and styled in the same way Burgundy's was; her eyes were purple as well.

"Burgundy? Oh my, welcome everyone. I would've bought more if I had known."

"Don't worry about it, mother. I'm certain Solidad and Harley will be back soon. They went to get more food to cook."

"Uh."

Everyone looked out the still open door and saw Ash's group standing behind Solidad and Harley. May sweetdropped.

"Room for fourteen more?"

"So you youngsters are all heading for Kalos now," Burgundy's Grandmother, now introduced as Marie, stated.

"Yes ma'am," Drew smiled.

Burgundy's mother, Andrea, smiled back. "It's certainly is kind of your friends to fix supper."

"Believe me, they like doing it." Misty answered.

Marie nodded and turned to look at Bianca. "Is that young man Cress, the one that Burgundy's got an eye on?"

"Mother!"

Bianca laughed and then winked.

Eventually, Cress, Cilan, Chili, Iris, Brock, and Burgundy came into the main room to serve everyone the meal they'd cooked together.

Ash rested his egg between himself and Misty as they ate. Everyone enjoyed the food and chatted amicably. After the sun started to dip, everyone started to find their place to sleep for the night. There would be many persons on the floor that night, but it was like being outside anyways.

In the den, Ash and Misty were holding hands and resting their heads together on the ground, Barry and Bianca were snoring loudly next to each other, Drew had an arm around May's shoulders as they slept, Cilan and Iris snoozed peacefully nearby. In the living room, Brock, Gary, Stephan, Kenny, and Max slept on the floor and couches. In the guest room, Paul and Dawn ended up spooning in their sleep with Dawn's arm over her boyfriend's back and resting on his stomach. Chili, Ritchie, Solidad, Harley, and Nando were in the same room too. Finally, in Burgundy's room, Burgundy was sleeping in her bed, Cress, Clemont, Serena, Zoey, Cameron, Trip, and Georgia were on the floor.

In the middle of the night, Burgundy's eyes slid open. She got out of bed, slipped on her day clothes in her bathroom and left the house. She didn't see Cress' eyes open the moment she'd gotten out of bed and disappeared into the bathroom.

zzz-Burgundy-zzz

She walked out onto route thirteen quietly. She released her Woobat, whom she'd captured near the League road on her group's way to Lacunosa.

"Woo?"

"Just keep your sonar on alert. It's dark and I didn't want to run into anything dangerous at night."

"Bat."

After having walked on the route road for a moment, she turned left and followed an overgrown road that lead into the northern forest.

zzz-Cress, Trip, Georgia, Ash-zzz

"So she just got up out of bed and walked off?" Trip asked quietly as four people slipped out of Burgundy's home.

Cress and Georgia had both been awoken by their girlfriend or friend and had then been joined by Trip and ultimately Ash, since hardly no one could do anything without him knowing due to his aura. He'd told Pikachu and Ellie to stay behind in case everyone else woke up and started to wonder where they were.

They were making their way through the streets of Lacunosa and were heading towards route thirteen. Cress had figured there was only one place she could be. As they picked up the pace, Ash was able to get a bead on her and her Woobat.

Before long, they reached a small hill that over looked the cave to the Ice Cavern. They saw Burgundy walk inside and hurried down the hill to follow in after her.

zzz-Burgundy, Cress, Trip, Georgia, Ash-zzz

"Burgundy, Burgundy!" Cress called out, causing the connaisseuse to turn to her name being called.

"Monsieur Cress, Georgia, Trip, Ash, what are you doing here?"

"What are you doing here?" Georgia returned.

"Oh… uh…"

"You wish to see your father again. That's understandable," Cress spoke up.

Ash nodded and Georgia smiled and put her hands on her hips.

"Could you at least not do it at one in the morning next time?" Trip grumbled.

Georgia looked over at her boyfriend. "Hey nobody asked you to come, wise-guy."

Burgundy nodded and then smiled. "Thanks guys."

The group of five continued on through the cave as to reach the wooden dock that hung over the large crater. Many believed a great comet had struck that place long ago, around three thousand years ago. As they were approaching the exit to the small annex, a Cryogonal from a group of Cryogonal stayed behind and guarded the exit after the others had fled. He growled at the small group and Georgia stepped forward.

"An ice type that Georgia the Dragon Buster doesn't have, you say?" She grabbed a poke ball from her belt and enlarged it. "We can't have that, can we? Sylveon, let's go!"

Sylveon cried out in a somewhat silvery voice and locked her baby-blue eyes on Cryogonal.

"Fairy Wind!" Sylveon let her ribbons whip out and lengthen as a pink wind formed and blew towards Cryogonal who returned the attack with Icy Wind. The two winds struck each other and turned into a blue and pink whirlwind, battling each other. Eventually, Sylveon's wind won out and both blue and pink slammed into Cryogonal.

"Quick Attack!" Georgia shouted. "Don't let up!" Sylveon barked and shot forward covered in white, before crashing head on into Cryogonal, sending him into a rock wall. It growled and shot an Ice Beam at Sylveon. She jumped away gracefully, though her back left leg got frozen and stuck to the ground. Georgia gasped slightly as Cryogonal shot forward; his body started to spin and several icicles formed; the ice type prepared to fire a Ice Shard attack at the fairy type.

"Moonblast, now!" Georgia shouted. Sylveon eyes glowed a bright blue almost white as a ball of pink-white energy formed in her mouth. It grew to the size of a basket ball before it shot forward and blasted Cryogonal back; its shards of ice clattered to the ground and broke. "Pokeball, go!" Georgia had tossed a great ball and within a couple shakes, the ice type was hers.

"Zoroark, Night Slash, free Sylveon," Ash spoke as he released his pokemon.

Yes, Master! She replied let her claws glow dark purple before carefully jabbing and breaking the ice around Sylveon's foot. After that was done, the pokemon and people present walked out into the night again.

On the wooden dock, everyone stood on the grass and earth it was connected to except for Burgundy and her Woobat. She had her legs over the edge and was swinging them as she gazed upon the massive crater below. Eventually Ash nodded to Cress who nodded back; Cress walked forward and went to sit down by Burgundy.

She smiled. "Legend says that if you approach this big chasm, disasters surely follow."

Cress nodded wordlessly.

"My father was a budding researcher. He wanted to study legends and forgotten places. He wanted to learn about how people and pokemon interacted in ancient times."

"You thought very highly of your father."

"He was my hero and I was his daddy's girl."

"He came here to find out more."

"Yeah, he used to always tell me that folk tales are rooted in truth but if we are too superstitious then we will never leave the darkness of the cave." She paused and looked at him. "I should've stopped him. It was in the middle of winter. Mom was out with Grandma… I should've told him I was afraid to be alone."

"You can't blame yourself for such things."

"But I do."

Cress placed a hand on hers. "You've seen a great many things now Burgundy. I think he would be proud of you. He also wouldn't want you to blame yourself."

Burgundy nodded and then smiled as a wind picked up. "Yes, I suppose you're right. These people, my friends, they are good. Monsieur Cress…" She turned and looked him in the eyes. "I want to do well in this tournament and then I want to get even stronger. I want to be a connaisseuse to help trainers. I want to battle you someday at your restaurant, the restaurant with the water everywhere."

Cress smiled and rubbed his thumb over her hand. "I would like that very much." Burgundy leaned forward as Cress followed soon after and they kissed very briefly.

Eventually, the group of five and their pokemon then left after Burgundy said one last thing to the last place her father had been. "Au revoir… father. Until I return again."

The next morning, both groups got up and prepared to travel to Humilau. They had to reach Undella town first and then they could take the Marine Tube.

Burgundy hugged her mother and grandmother goodbye, before the group of twenty eight got on the road again, together.

The whole way to Undella, Ash's group talked to the second group about their experience in the Plasma Castle, Ghetsis and the Triads' demise, and their farewell to N and Touko.

By the early afternoon, they were in Undella, purchasing their tickets to enter the Marine Tube and get to Humilau.

"And that's twenty-eight," a young clerk spoke and passed the ticket to Zoey.

"Thanks very much," Zoey replied and took the ticket before walking over to the group. Everyone then turned and walked down the stairs and into the tunnel.

As soon as they got inside and could see the structure, Clemont started on a tangent.

"Wow! What an amazing work of engineering genius! Did you all know that the Marine Tube's glass is nine point eight inches thick to withstand the water pressure as well as the large water pokemon that may strike the tube? They constructed the whole thing above ground and then lowered the entire thing intact into the ocean. It crosses a trench that's around six miles deep."

Everyone sweatdropped slightly at the onslaught of info given to them.

"Whoa wait. It goes over a trench?"

Clemont turned to look over his shoulder and saw Serena blinking at him with slight wonder in her eyes. He nodded. "Uh, yeah. The Undella Trench. They've found pokemon like Binacle and even Barbaracle at the bottom of it recently. A couple of scientists went down in a submarine."

"Wow, really!? How'd they get the tube down and get the water out?"

Clemont smiled as Serena started to walk beside him and ahead of the group.

"Oh well you see, after lowering it carefully into the ocean, they-"

Harley rolled his eyes as the two trainers got farther ahead of the group. "Only a matter of time."

Solidad in turn rolled her eyes at Harley.

Max's face deadpanned and he glanced at Harley and Solidad. "Right… only a matter of time," he spoke under his breath.

Everyone enjoyed walking along through the tube, seeing all the pokemon. Pikachu and Ellie ran along ahead of everyone in the group, putting their faces to the glass and waving and talking to the pokemon that came close enough. After a couple hours, everyone moved up the stairs and took in a breath of salty sea air. They were in Humilau.

"I'll go see the flight times for Luminose city that are available," Brock spoke up after everyone had looked around at the small city.

"Me and Harley will go with you," Solidad spoke. Harley sighed and followed behind her as the three walked off.

Cress spoke up next, "I would like to fish a bit while we wait."

Ultimately, Cress, Burgundy, Iris, Cilan, Chili, Clemont, Serena, Ritchie, Drew and May all went to sit near the water and fish in Cress' case. Everyone else followed after Misty when she stated that she wanted to see the gym, since it was a water type gym like hers.

"This place looks to be a good one," Cress spoke up as they neared a spot on the beach, with fishing pole in hand.

"I agree, as a fishing connoisseur-" Cilan started before Iris gave Cilan a pointed glare which silenced him. "Nevermind, looks good."

"Yes it does," Iris smiled.

"I wonder what pokemon you can catch here?" May asked as she sat down next to Drew.

"I think we'll find out," Drew replied with sarcasm and a smile which prompted a nudge from May.

"The water is beautiful," Serena spoke and put her feet in the water.

"Yep and the afternoon sun is up," Ritchie nodded.

"Pika pika!" Sparky spoke up as he jumped to Ritchie's shoulder to look over the water. Ritchie had let him out as soon as they'd come to a stop.

"I wonder how long it will take for you to catch something," Chili pondered and laid on his stomach, already a bit bored.

"A fisher is patient, Chili. You know that," Cress replied with a chuckle as he threw out his line. "You could've gone with Ash, Misty and the others to the gym."

"Yeah yeah."

Everyone settled down to relax and wait.

It was at least an hour later that something finally happened. Everyone was almost asleep from boredom except for Cress, Burgundy, Cilan and Ritchie. Everyone else was yawning or staring out over the water with blank faces. Suddenly, Cress felt a tiny tug.

"Hm?"

Everyone looked over and a second later he shrugged. "Guess it was nothin-iiiiing!" Cress yelled out when his line was suddenly pulled taut with such force that he almost lost his balance a fell into the water. He was sliding across the deck and put his feet out against a couple posts to keep from sliding any further.

"My word! What could pull with such force?" Clemont asked and shifted his glasses.

Cress grunted and reached for a poke ball before releasing it's contents. Slowking popped out and held out his hands; a pink aura surrounded him and he lifted the catch out of the water.

"No way."

"You've got to be kidding me."

"How does that happen?"

"Now that's crazy!"

Slowking had pulled out a blue Basculin… AND a red Basculin. Both were flopping in the air trying to wriggle out of the grasp of the Psychic attack.

Cress blinked at them in shock before pulling out two poke balls. "Well then. This will be an interesting experience to raise both variety. I think any true water type trainer wouldn't trade this opportunity. The two poke balls were lobbed through the air and struck both pokemon at the same time. The balls struck the wooden planks and started to shake before five shakes later, they binged.

"Remind me to bring you whenever I go fishing," Drew muttered.

Cress only laughed happily.

zzz-Ash, Misty, Gary, Max, Paul, Dawn, Zoey, Barry, Bianca, Kenny, Nando, Stephan, Cameron, Trip, and Georgia-zzz

"And here it is!" Cameron shouted and gestured to the Humilau city gym. "The place I received my final gym badge for the Unovan Pokemon League!"

"You wouldn't have even tried to get it if it wasn't for me, Cilan, and Iris," Ash drawled and Cameron sweatdropped.

"A slight oversight on my part," Cameron replied.

"Yeah… uh huh…" Stephan spoke with an eyebrow raised.

"Oh give me a break!" Cameron growled slightly, pulling at his hair.

"How can you forget how many gym badges you need?" Paul muttered to himself in confusion.

"Hello?"

Everyone looked over and saw Marlon looking at them.

"Whoa! Wicked! It's like a ton of people I know and some I don't," Marlon grinned. "Hello dudes and ladies!"

Misty walked up. "So your the gym leader of Humilau city?"

"You bet!"

Misty nodded. "My name's Misty. I'm the gym leader of Cerulean city, also a water type gym. I challenge you to a pokemon battle."

Almost everyone in the group looked over at Misty in surprise. They weren't aware this had been the reason for her to want to visit this place.

Marlon smiled and rubbed his chin. "Someone's confident. Water trainer against water trainer, eh? SHOOTS! Let's do it!"

The group moved into the building. Misty started gushing about how the inside of the place looked and talked about her gym as well. Some of the trainers inside approached to watch with the others since many of the trainers, studying under Marlon, knew who Misty was. This would be an interesting battle.

"So why didn't you enter the Master Challenge, Marlon?" Ash asked as they approached the pool that Cameron and Marlon had battled at before.

"I can't be away from the sea for long. Camping out in mountains and places far away? Just not fo' me man. I swim almost everyday, no matter the weather. The ocean's in my blood."

"I understand… The ocean has always been special to me too," Misty nodded.

Marlon grinned. "This lady gets it!"

Everyone sat by as the two gym leaders got into position. A young man that was the usual judge for gym battles acted as referee. Misty took a look at Ash, Pikachu, and Ellie; Ash smiled at her and gave a thumbs up while the rodents and everyone else in their groups were cheering for her. Marlon's trainers were cheering for him.

"This will be a two versus two pokemon battle. No mega-evolution, no substitution. Are both trainers ready?"

"Yeah!"

"You better believe it, dude!"

"Begin!"

"Come out, Jellicent!"

"Misty calls, Buizel!"

Jellicent appeared and he floated in place over the water as his eyes glowed a fierce red. Buizel then stood across from the ghost type on a platform in the pool and shouted in defiance and swished her tails. Her white floatation sac glittered in the sun.

"Whoa now. That's a sweet looking Buizel."

"She's pretty special," Misty replied with a smile.

Marlon grinned. "Let's see how special. Jellicent, Nightshade!"

Jellicent made a loud gurgling growling noise and his eyes turned purple; soon Buizel's were purple too and she was crying out in pain.

"Buizel! Aqua Swift!" Buizel growled and pulled herself back and out of the Nightshade attack, making the platform wobble a bit. Water coated her tails as well as a white light and she swung both to create a wave of blue glowing stars. Each slammed into Jellicent and it flinched from the blows as they came.

"Omnious Wind!"

Jellicent's eyes turned purple again and a wicked wind picked up and blew into Buizel who had to grab the surface of the platform to keep from blowing away.

"Hex!"

Before Buizel or Misty could even respond, Jellicent was face to face with Buizel, striking her with his tentacles, which were glowing purple.

"Bui! Bui! Bui! Bui!" Buizel cried out in pain with each attack.

"Buizel, use Pursuit if you can!"

Buizel grit her teeth and then her body was coated in a navy light before she lunged through the tentacles and struck Jellicent in the face with her head.

"Grab it!" Marlon sneered in excitement as Jellicent rapidly righted itself and gripped Buizel's body tightly with his tentacles.

"No!"

"Giga Drain!"

"BUUUUUIIIII!" Buizel screeched as the golden green light of the grass type move covered her body and started to sap her energy.

"Buizel!" MIsty shouted out and gasped when Buizel started to glow a bright white. Marlon's mouth dropped open a bit in surprise. Soon a pale yellow Floatzel with a white flotation sac was in Jellicent's grasp now. Floatzel barked and Crunched down on Jellicent's tentacle, getting a shout of pain from the ghost and getting released at the same time. She fell in the water and swam rapidly to the platform again.

"Quick don't let that momentum get far! Bubble Beam!" Jellicent waved his arms and several waves of bubbles at Floatzel.

"Counter shield!" Misty shouted. Marlon scratched his temple in confusion. Floatzel leapt to her back and started to spin while using Water Gun. The bubbles from the Bubble Beam were destroyed by the stream of water before they could even get close.

"Sonic Ice Aqua Jet!" Misty cried out. Floatzel barked and jumped into an Aqua Jet. She surged forward as her teeth glowed blue and ice started to encase her. Halfway to Jellicent, her tails glowed white and a Sonic Boom blasted from the back of the bullet shaped attack, thrusting the Ice Aqua Jet forward with even more velocity. The attack crashed into Jellicent's face and the massive pokemon fell into the water. Floatzel fell to the water and swam back to the platform and climbed up. Jellicent surfaced, unconscious.

"Jellicent is unable to battle, Bui- I mean Floatzel wins!"

"Well that was a wicked move combination there," Marlon spoke as he returned his friend. Misty finished petting Floatzel who'd come from the pool after the ref had called it.

"Well I only added on to something pretty great," Misty returned and looked over her shoulder at Ash who was smiling. Dawn was beaming.

"Gotcha! Well then, let's switch it up. Starmie! I need ja, pal!"

Misty thanked and returned Floatzel as Marlon's Starmie appeared on the platform.

"Two can play at that game. Misty calls Starmie!" Misty smiled brightly as she called out one of her closest pokemon friends.

"HIYA!" Starmie shouted in return and spun rapidly before landing on its own platform and stretching some.

"Are both trainers ready?"

Misty and Marlon, both smiling with determination, nodded.

"Begin!"

"Rapid Spin!" Both gym leaders called out at the same time. The Starmie leapt up and started to spin rapidly before crashing together, bouncing off of each other several times like Pinball balls. "Swift!" They both cried next. The Starmie continued spinning and shined white before golden stars shot from their bodies and met in the air, shattering into golden light and glitter when they exploded against each other. "Water Gun!" They halted spinning all together and two spouts of water gushed from their top spine. The Water Guns smashed together and battled it out until Marlon noticed that Misty's was starting to gain power.

"Psychic!"

"Shoots!"

Misty's Starmie's jewel glowed blue and the other Starmie was slung and slammed into the pool wall.

"Thunderbolt!" Misty snapped out next.

"Light Screen, quick!"

Misty's Starmie was surrounded in electricity before the attack fired towards its opponent crackling and hissing. Just before it could hit its mark, Marlon's Starmie brought up the pink shield of Light Screen. The Thunderbolt danced across the shield's surface making it flicker.

"Scald, dude!" Marlon snapped. His Starmie sprayed a blast of water from its top spine that was hissing and boiling hot. It struck Starmie's face and steam rose from the water type's form as it tried to recuperate from the attack.

"Ice Beam!" Misty shouted and pointed at the target. Starmie shouted in response and a beam of icy energy struck the other Starmie, freezing it.

"Dang it!" Malron hissed.

"Thunderbolt!"

"Recover!"

Max paused and scratched his head. "Can a pokemon use Recover while frozen?"

Ash shrugged. "I had Snorlax Rest while partially frozen."

The Thunderbolt struck the ice and cascaded across it as the Starmie inside glowed white.

"Break out of that prison, fella! And use Psyshock!" Marlon snapped. His Starmie suddenly broke from the icy prison and created several globs of silver colored energy which shot towards Misty's pokemon.

"Swift, destroy them!"

Starmie used the attack once more and the golden stars broke apart the silver globs with ease.

"Thunderbolt!"

"You, too!"

The bolts of electricity streaked through the air and struck each other, beginning to battle. Stray bolts would arc out and fizzle out of existence. Marlon was smirking at the display.

"You'd think this was an electric type battle, huh?" He glanced up to see Misty smiling.

"Yeah, Grass Knot."

Marlon frowned. "Aw, Shoots."

A few strands of grass shot up from the platform underneath Marlon's Starmie and twisted around the bottom left spine. Marlon's Starmie was tripped, its attack disrupted, allowing for Misty's Starmie's Thunderbolt to push through and land a direct hit. Marlon's Starmie fell on its back with a sigh and its jewel started to flash.

"Marlon's Starmie is unable to battle. Misty of Cerulean city is the winner of the battle!"

Misty hugged Starmie tightly after the announcement. Her friends and Marlon approached.

"That was a great battle, Misty!" Max shouted.

Misty turned and looked at him happily. "Aw thanks Max!"

"A very good battle. I might have to think more about that little Sonic Boom addition you gave to the Ice Aqua Jet," Ash smirked and grabbed her hand gently. Pikachu and Ellie chirped their congratulations as well when the others spoke up.

Marlon was the last to speak. "Gotta say, I wiped out. That was a wicked wipe out though! So if you're ever back here in Unova, I'd like another rematch, fellow gym leader."

Misty smiled brightly and shook his hand. "You bet, don't expect me to go easy on you though."

"The ocean has no mercy, lady," Marlon grinned. "Why should I expect it of you?"

After a few more parting words, the group exited the gym and went to find everyone else.

zzz-Everyone-zzz

"Two Basculin, you're serious?" Gary asked as everyone in the two groups, walked through the Humilau airport, trying to find their gate.

"Yes, one of red and one of blue. What a strange thing to happen, hm?" Cress laughed a bit.

"Sounds like they might have been from the same cohort or something. Siblings, you know? So they stuck together." Gary explained.

"I could ask them later," Ash entered.

"That would be interesting," Cress smiled.

"Everyone, over there! Gate twelve!" Brock shouted, getting everyone's attention.

The whole group was just in time for boarding and filed into the plane after showing their tickets. Everyone settled down into their seats and waited for take off. Kalos awaited.

zzz-Unknown Location in Kanto-zzz

Giovanni had a stoic look on his features as he skimmed through folder after folder of new info. Being leader of Team Rocket had always required much care and order, even more so now with all their new members and annexes. The thought brought a smile to the crime lord's face. It was then that he heard the clicking of heels against the hard tile floor. He didn't even have to glance up.

"Yes Matori, what is it?"

"Sir, that encrypted file that you've had Professor Sebastian and Xeroisc tag teaming on… They finally cracked it."

"I still don't know how no one could remember that password. I always make sure the scientists in charge of different sets of data have their password practically burned into their heads."

"I think I know why sir, just watch this small collection of video feeds."

Matori clicked a button on a remote. Giovanni turned in his chair to start watching and slowly his face started to become filled with less and less emotion.

Up on the screen, the first video was of a feline creature breaking out from a test tube and destroying everything in sight. The second showed the same creature from a distance, wearing metal armor; it lifted a herd of Tauros with a single flick of its wrist. The last video feed showed several clips of an island on a mountain and the same creature defending many pokemon. Sure enough, the Ketchum boy was there, trying to help the pokemon get away.

With these three videos, a wave of lost memories flooded into Giovanni's mind. "Matori, thank you. I need a few minutes to process what I've seen. Come back in fifteen."

"As you wish, sir."

As soon as she had left, Giovanni's face split into a calculating smile. "So you thought you'd won, Mewtwo. Oh, how wrong you were. The best part is, you're going to help me, whether you like it or not. You were created to serve me." Giovanni looked over his shoulder at several picture frames that held the faces of his mother, father, and grandparents on his mother's side.

"Well mother, your bratty son will have the world in his hands AND all its money. Am I a failure to you now, wench?" Giovanni rose swiftly and started out of the room. He wanted to go talk with some of his scientists and Admins. He'd pick Matori up along the way. Persian meowed very softly and followed after his master. The boss's room was left in the dark with barely a hint of light shining on Madam Boss's painted red lips which were eternally curled into a taunting and wicked smile.

zzz-Pokemon Village in Kalos-zzz

A few pokemon hiding in the trees or running through the tall grasses in the cold but lovely place stopped what they were doing and peaked out from hiding when two newcomers landed near the waterfall that ran from the cliff above the hidden Village.

"Come, it's in here that those flyers said there was some strange energy. I can feel my stone pulsing as well. I think we've found it."

I see. Let's not waste time.

"What's wrong? You've been acting a bit distant the last few hours."

It's just… I've been made aware of something.

"What?"

Giovanni remembers me now. As soon as I find this stone that gives more power. We need to probably go our separate ways. If he sees you or anyone else with me, he'll use that against me.

"No. We must remain together! We've been learning a lot from each other and still have more to learn about our origins together!"

He will strip you of your free will.

"I'd like to see him try." Mewtwo Y growled fiercely.

Mewtwo sighed mentally and said no more on the subject as the two bipedal felines walked into the Cavern known to the locals as the Unknown Dungeon. They walked through the darkness carefully until their eyes were met with a glowing light at the very back. Poking out from the wall was a rock, mostly covered in dark gravely stone with some sort of multicolored gem peaking through where it could. It was a raw mega stone.

Mewtwo Y nodded at Mewtwo and he used a Psycho Cut attack to dislodge the stone from the wall. After it fell to the ground, he picked it up.

"Swallow it."

Mewtwo nodded and after using his immense psychic powers to smooth and polish the stone, he swallowed it. He closed his eyes to concentrate and after a moment, he was covered in a bright white and navy blue light. After the light faded away, Mewtwo was now Mega Mewtwo X.

"Let's go and test out your new power." Mewtwo Y spoke before transforming herself into Mega Mewtwo Y.

Yes, I want to test this new power I feel.

Both legends flew out from the cave before shooting off into the sky at blinding speeds.

And there you have it! Two little notes, first I'm aware that Flash actually helps keep away wild pokemon in X and Y, but logically speaking I think in the anime's practical sense, Flash would draw attention instead. Second I almost got teary eyed writing the last paragraph about the old N's burial site. He gets to rest with wild pokemon all around.

And on to Kalos...

SuperGV88: You think Charizard and Aerodactyl could battle against each other?

NoSignal: I think a battle between Charizard and Gary's Aerodactyl could happen, but if you meant the one that actually picked Ash up in Kanto, then no not this story. Most definitely an epic battle in my Anime Remake though, whenever that eventually comes around.

Luffy'stwin33: Will there be an all out battle between Team Rocket and the League? If so you should make it as the league falls and Ash's group comes in and kick some butt.

Rosalinda Lancaster Leonhart: Aside from Kingdra and Garchomp, will he get his chance to catch another Dragon type in Kalos since some rumours says that he will catch a Goomy in XY.

NoSignal: Yes I will indeed say that Ash will meet back up with "Goomy" I'm taking the initiative and saying he'll get Goomy in XY. He'll get "Goomy" back just like Hawlucha.

Great: PS Hey, I have a suggestion in the case you decide to make some Aura Guardians from Ash's group. I would say Gary(the brother), Paul(the rival), Ritchie(the friend) and Max(the apprentice). There are other possible ones, but this are the main ones.

NoSignal: It might happen, haven't decided. As for Team Rocket's pokemon, they do technically, they've just been using Arbok and Weezing mostly. James used Carnivine recently too.
