Chapter 16- Perspective
Lenalee was not about to stick her nose into affairs that were none of her concern, but, being that she was Allen, Lavi, and Kaede's friend, she could not help but notice the intimate connection between the three boys. She had a general understanding of their feelings toward one another, and the more time she spent with them, the more she learned about their relationship. However, she was well aware that she did not have a complete understanding about them.
What she knew included that the three boys were basically inseparable. Whenever they would go on missions, they would always try to go together. Whenever they were at the Order, they would eat together, talk together, train together, and spend long periods of time in one another's rooms. (Lenalee had her suspicions as to what sorts of mischief the boys would get into when they were alone together, but, again, she was not about to go butting into their business.)
Fortunately, Lenalee was never excluded from the boys' lives. If anything, their relations with one another improved. The boys invited and welcomed her into their conversations and spent about as much time with her as they did with one another. Lenalee would help Kaede with his training, as he was learning to better control his Innocence. With every mission and training session, he became a little more capable of influencing his opponents from farther distances. He would often practice with Allen, Lavi, or Lenalee, who could also tell her was improving greatly.
As for Kanda...well, when he returned from his mission, he mostly left the three boys alone. It was impossible to tell what he thought of Kaede, but his feelings seemed to remain bittersweet toward "Baka Usagi" and "Moyashi."
Although Lenalee might not have known everything about her friends' relationship, she did know one thing, and, ultimately, it was the only thing that truly mattered:
They, Allen, Lavi, and Kaede, were together, and they were happy.
