This is the last chapter, but in Sulpicia's point of view. Enjoy!

SPOV

I sighed, running my hand through my long hair and tugging a little. I needed to talk to Kate, and soon. Biting my lip, I wondered off down the hall in search of my mate. I always knew it was stupid, never telling her, but when I found out it was when our fuckers of "husbands" descended on the previous leader of the coven and her immortal child. Yes it was against our laws, but when they had made that law it had been after she had changed the child. My "sisters" and I had to watch them kill her, but it was then that I looked across the fire at the three daughters, their faces that of utter defeat and tears shinning in their eyes that could never fall. I looked at Kate my purpose was found... but she refused to look at me. It killed me completely, but a once dead heart is still dead, no matter what happens. How could I have told her that I was her Mate right after her mother was killed?

I had never had the courage after that. Until now...

Or so I thought, because once I saw her all that faith and courage drained from me. Fuck I'm a fucking bitch I let that happen...

Suck it up, you need to talk to her.

"Kate?" It was quiet, but she still looked up, her eyes a bright honey, but there was a darkness, a sadness in them I couldn't help but be upset about. This beautiful woman should never be sad. She stopped in front of me and bowed her head.

"Queen."

"Can I talk to you?" I bit my lip and she nodded, eyes darting to my lips a moment before she looked down again. After all this time she still wouldn't look at me. My heart clinched.

"Yeah."

"I know she was wrong to do it, but I still miss her... My mother died young... she adopted me, for all intents and purposes. Taught me how to survive. Taught me about Mates..."

I listened intently to her entire story, the last catching my interest. "What all did she tell you about Mates?"

"That eye contact is the biggest thing. Once eye contact is made, you can't deny the bond, or it would cause unimaginable pain. That's why I've only ever met eyes with mated pairs. I don't... I don't want to accidentally hurt my mate..."

So she wasn't mad at me? "Did... did she ever tell you that one Mate can know about the bond, but it's not concrete until the eye contact."

She lifted her head and pain swirled in her eyes again. "So... I've been hurting my Mate even without the contact?"

I furrowed my brow. "You say that like you know who it is..."

"For nearly a thousand years." She looked up and met my eyes, the force of our bond hitting us so hard we both stumbled.

Heh, Vampires, stumbling. What graceful creatures we are...

Before I could stop myself, I crashed my lips to Kate's, wrapping my arms around her waist and pulling her closer. She moaned and tangled her hands in my hair, running her tongue over my lips. I gladly opened to her and met her tongue with mine, the furious dance of control starting, which I quickly won. Or maybe she let me. I don't care. My hands trailed up her sides as I explored her mouth before trailing kissed down her jaw and to her neck, sucking on the skin over where her pulse once was. She gasped, tugging on my hair and pressing my head more against her neck at the same time. Without realizing I had done it, my thigh found it's way between hers, bringing another gasp from her. I nipped her neck and she hissed. "Fuck, Cia, please..."

At that point I heard someone say "Well then, okay." Both of us lifted our heads to look at the direction of the voice, only to find no one there. There was a lingering scent, but it had distracted us enough to clear our heads. I gave Kate a sheepish look.

"Sorry, I..." She shook her head, smiling and putting her finger over my lip.

"It takes two to tango. When you fight the bond as long as we have, it's bond to slap us pretty hard in the face." We grin at each other, nuzzling each others necks and purring.

I was looking down at some documents, my glasses on my face. Though I didn't need them, I had as a human for reading, so I still wore them when I did this. A soft knock caught my attention and I looked up, feeling my glasses slip down as I looked at Bella. She raised an eyebrow, nodding to my glasses. I gave her a sheepish look. "Human habit. Is there something you wanted to talk about?" I took off my glasses and sat up straighter, another habit, motioning to the chair. Bella sat, but instead of sitting like us or humans, she looked much like a cat, almost like she wanted to sit like she had before but squatted instead. Her tail flicked back and forth and I smiled. It was fun, to be honest, having her around. She seemed to give a new life to our coven. I hoped, almost, that she would stay.

"I have good news for you, My Queen." She bowed her head and I grinned, excited. We talked about her success and her family accepting my offer. We shared a smile and before she left she turned back. "Hope the talk goes well, 'Cia'." She gave a cat-like grin at my embarrassment and quickly left.

ShadowCub: This isn't me yelling, just offering a different point of view. I think saying a human blood drinking Vamp not being allowed babies is like us humans who enjoy meat not being allowed pets or farms. The thing is, most of those who drink human blood do it because they don't know another way or don't have the control for the vegi diet. Sides, think about it. Technically Rose, Cia's and any other vamp babies will be just that: A vampire.

Gimme thoughts!
