Hello! I know, I haven't posted nothing in forever, but I need you all to bear with me here. I am a very busy person. I don't exactly have the easiest job in the world, and my workload just seems to keep piling up more and more. Anyway, I am going to go a little bit out of order with this chapter of War to Remember, but that is because I know that a LOT of you want to see what I will do with a vampire Aqua. Well, you shall all get a glimpse now! Enjoy this story-developing chapter of Kingdom War Book 1: A War to Remember! Special Thanks to UnflinchingResolve, my family, and now even my co-workers for standing by me and supporting me through a rough time in my life. And everyone, if you could, please show your love and support to UnflinchingResolve. If it weren't for him, I doubt I ever would have even tried to do my own Fanfiction stories. He is my main inspiration, and a great friend. I know that he would appreciate the acknowledgment and support just as much as I do. Thanks!
Chapter 17: Advent Aqua
Aqua woke up to see herself inside the Hellsing Manor's basement, but in a different room than the one she was brought to the first time she was saved by Seras. This place only had the dark, cold stone walls, a drawer with a lamp, and the bed that she was sleeping in. There was a sort of coldness on her skin, but she felt extremely fine...Wait!
Aqua looked down to see that she was still in her robes. They were quite torn from where the masked boy had basically shredded her, but the wounds themselves were completely gone! At first, Aqua was quite relieved; the wounds had healed up. But, wait...How could they? That boy had cut me so damn deep...*gasp* Aqua remembered what happened! I can't be...She began to look around the room and noticed Alucard and Seras standing by the side of her bed; Alucard on the right and Seras on the left. Seras' eyes were concealed by darkness, but her mouth formed a bit of an angry yet sad frown. She had her arms and legs crossed. Alucard, however, was giving his trademark grin. He, too, was partly concealed in darkness and his arms and legs crossed, but it was quite clear that he was enjoying what was going on. Just as Aqua was about to begin screaming her head off; Seras had spoke with the most serious tone that Aqua ever heard from her in the time she has known her.
"Don't even think about screaming. It annoys the hell out of Integra when her subordinates scream. And to answer your question: Yes; you are a vampire. I turned you because you are the one whom asked me too. The choice was yours," Seras said with sincerity. Alucard gave a slight chuckle and then spoke himself, "Tell me, how does it feel? Can you feel the chill of your skin to the power that now radiates through your body?" With that, he gave a slight chuckle and vanished out of the room, just as Integra and Walter began to walk in. Aqua looked over at them, and Integra was the first to speak.
"Don't worry about him. You'll get used to it in time," she said. "Wh-What will happen to me now? I am not sure how the magics and forces of every world work, but I-I can't be stuck like this! A creature of darkness! And..." Aqua was interrupted when Integra put up her hand requesting her silence.
"I am not sure how that all works, but you can worry about it later. Now, I know that you are already quite committed to...whatever it is you do, but whatever duties you have will have to wait. As you are now a vampire, you are to be under my command while you operate within this...world's borders. Walter, if you please," Integra spoke. Walter then handed Aqua a set of clothes. Integra then spoke again.
"I took the liberty of having these specially made for you at Seras' request. She said that the robes you wear do suit you, but now that you are a vampire, you will need to at least look like one. These robes have the Hellsing badge as it's primary decor, but the rest is just like those now half torn to shreds set that you have on, but the color scheme is, as you can see, quite different. It is required that it's scheme be modeled based on the wearer's personality. Bright Red for the care that you still hold for others, and Black for...well, obvious reasons. Walter," Integra motioned for the butler to continue explaining it's numerous functions.
"Right. As Sir Integra said, the clothes are basically just a recolored version of yours with the Hellsing mark bearing on your chest instead of your own Order's. I studied what I could about the Keyblade alongside of Alucard while you were unconscious. I believe that if you were to 'channel' the Keyblade's power, your clothes might actually react. For what was strange was how when the robes were done, Seras had touched them and they began to bear the armor that your original set bore. It's up to you to see what these robes can do for you," Walter spoke. Aqua took them and bowed to Walter in thanks. Integra then began speaking once again.
"Now that that's out of the way; as I said, you are to work for me while you are within our borders, and as long as you uphold the laws of our church, crown, and country; I promise I will do whatever I can to aid you in your quest. Seras here has already agreed to these terms, and will be your mentor through your transition. However..." She then turns to Seras before resuming. Seras remained in the position she was.
"Seras has requested that during your free time and/or your personal duties as a Keyblade wielder that she accompany you as much as possible. Frankly, I'm reluctant to give up one of my team members during this rather dangerous time in our country with Millennium now a problem, but inside told me to grant her request. Trust me when I say I don't have feelings like that often, so when I have them; I know to trust my feelings," Integra stated. She took another puff from her cigar and looked back to Aqua before continuing again.
"To break it all down so that we may all get to work; First, you are to perform your duties to Hellsing whenever I ask it of you. Second, when not performing your duties as a member of Hellsing, you are to perform your personal duties as needed. Third, Seras is to accompany you at all times until further notice. Fourth, you are to provide me with some means of contacting the leader of your order; he and I will have to exchange information and intel, as well as how to handle your situation and get a better understanding of how it will affect your future. Lastly, if you are ever to leave our world, you are to first inform me, Seras, Alucard, and even the Queen that you are leaving our borders, for you will no longer be a part of our jurisdiction if you do so, and Hellsing will not be able to provide you with any assisstance. However, you will still be bound to your duties to Hellsing, meaning that if you were to encounter a world that has an unholy creature, you are to purge them and give all souls proper rest and justice. You will take the official oath later. Is all this understood," Integra stated with authority. Aqua looked down in sorrow and confusion at the robes she was holding. Why did all this happen? Is this to be my life? Am I to live in shadow the rest of my life?
While Aqua was thinking this to herself, visions of her friends smiling happily and Master Eraqus standing proudly towards her came to her mind. And then, she heard these very specific words stated to her by an unfamiliar voice, "Just follow your heart." The vision ends.
Integra then spoke up again, this time with a tad bit of irritation in her voice, "Do you understand what is required of you, Aqua?!" This caused Aqua to jump, and Walter to get a concerned look on his face.
"Y-Yes. I apologize for the late response. Just...trying to process all this, that's all. Anyway, yes; I fully understand what is required of me while I operate within Hellsing's jurisdiction. I swear to be fully cooperative and loyal to my superiors and perform whatever duties are required of me," Aqua spoke with a respectful tone. Integra then nodded her head in acceptance and began to walk away before giving a folder and instructions to Walter to brief Aqua on her instructions, for Integra had a whole boatload of paperwork she has to get done within the next 9 hours. Walter bowed his head, turned to Aqua, and started doing as he was told.
"The first thing that Sir Integra wishes for you to do is to help Seras study a few old tomes that the British Government has recently discovered. They had mentioned..." Walter paused as he looked at the folder for the correct phrase that had been translated from old Latin. "...'The physical manifestations of the Darkness within the Heart of Man'. When the Queen was told of this, she immediately had everything, and I do mean 'everything' transferred here to Hellsing. You are to look over this file, examine the tomes with Seras, and unlock any and every secret you can from these things," Walter instructed. He then handed the folder over to Aqua. She opened it and began looking over it. Some parts of it have already been redacted.
"Alright, and then after we have finished gathering all we can, then what's my assignment," Aqua asked. Wait! Is she already basically being a servant of the Hellsing Order so easily?! *sigh* Just roll with it for now, Aqua. You can continue your own investigation later. "Sir Integra wishes you to put her in contact with your Order's Master. Eraqus, I believe you said his name was," Walter asked. Oh, man. Great. Now I will have to explain to Master Eraqus how I was too weak to even defend myself from the forces of darkness. Can things get any worse?
Meanwhile...
"Ze pieces are moving. It is time for us to start moving our pawns and knights in different directions. Tell our agents in the US it's time to make ze first move."
