Holy shit it had been forever. I can't believe I've left this story alone for so long. I was so amazed by the response it got before that all I wanted to do was write and write and write. But sadly life as always gets in the way of many things.

This chapter is not as long as the last one, I did try my best with it though. I was just so happy with the final line of this chapter I didn't want to follow it with anything else until the next chapter.

I loved writing this chapter and my mind is going crazy with thoughts of what's to come. I hope you like it as much as I do.

Chapter five

After what was beginning to feel too long, Brian finally arrived with at the hotel with their things. The front desk called their room to confirm that he was with them before they gave him their room number.

"Send him up, thank you." Isabel said before hanging up the phone next to the bed. Olivia was curled up into her side, her head resting on her chest with one arm pressed between herself and Isabel, the other wrapped around Isabel's waist. She wasn't asleep, but Isabel could see that it was becoming more difficult for her to keep her eyes open. It was getting hard for Isabel as well. Dawn was in just a few hours and she could feel the pull of her own dead sleep. But she had spoken to Brian just before he arrived and knew he would be there soon, she told Olivia so she would stay awake long enough for her to change into her pajamas when Brian arrived.

"Brian's on his way up now, soon we'll have you changed and we can go to sleep." said Isabel, kissing Olivia's now dry hair, twirling a lock of it around her finger.

She wished Brian would hurry. Olivia seemed to be having a much harder time keeping her eyes open. It was so late for her and soon, in the next hours to come the sun would be up for Isabel. She could already feel the pull of her own slumber with the coming dawn. Both of them were exhausted from the trauma they had suffered and only wished to sleep, almost hoping that when they woke it would prove to all be a dream and Adriana would be waiting for them, smiling and happy. Isabel knew though that wouldn't happen, that they would sleep and when they woke remembering she was gone the pain it would only be worse before they truly started to heal.

Isabel heard Brian as he exited the elevator onto their floor. She knew it was him because she recognized his scent. Tired of waiting, she pressed another kiss to Olivia head before using her vampire speed to exit the room and make her way down the hall, startling Brian when she appeared in front of him.

"You took too long," she told him and snatched the set of luggage he was holding, most likely containing their clothing.

"I-I'm sorry, Miss Beaumont" he managed to stutter out, doing his best to keep a professional composure.

"We will speak tomorrow of your payment, you may leave. If we need anything more, I will call you." she said curtly before leaving him with a whoosh back to her room.

"Olivia, I have your pajamas." Isabel announced softly. She placed their luggage on the end of the bed and opened both cases. She pulled out Olivia's clothes first. Her pajamas consisted of a soft cotton shirt and plaid pants. She also took out a pair of fuzzy socks. Olivia liked to sleep with socks on, her feet often getting cold at night.

"I know you're tired, and you'll get to sleep soon. But first we have to get you changed first." she said, her voice continuously soft and gentle as she helped the already half-asleep girl to sit up. It would have been a much more difficult task if she wasn't a vampire. Olivia barely moved, making Isabel do all the work. But she didn't mind, she understood how tired the girl was, that all she wanted was to rest and forget for just a little while, she would spoil her like she always did. When the night came again, they would once more face this lost together. They were the only family that each other had, and she would treasure Olivia, protect her and love her with everything she was. For Adriana, she could strong for them both.

"That's it, doesn't that feel more comfortable?" she asked, pulling up the last fluffy sock onto Olivia's left foot.

"Mmhmm," Olivia mumbled sleepily as she fell back onto her pillow, burrowing into the silky softness.

"Good, now let's get you tucked in," carefully, Isabel pulled the covers over Olivia, tucking them around her. For just a few minutes, she took the time to brush Olivia's hair back from her face and rubbed her back until her breathing evened out and she was sound asleep.

She was about to get under the covers herself when a soft knock sounded from the door.
Isabel frowned. She hadn't even heard anyone approach. Going to the door, she looked through the small peep hole, and saw Godric on the otherside. Standing back she opened the door for him, greeting him with a small, tired smile. It wasn't that his visit was an unwelcome one, but after what had just transpired it had her worried.

"Sheriff," she gave a tiny bow of her head.

"Isabel, how are you?" he asked, surprising her with his concern. It wasn't that he was uncaring, but it was unusual for him to voiced his sympathy. "I'm so sorry for your loss."

"Thank you, Godric. It's difficult, not even Hugo's betrayal can compare to the hurt and loss I am feeling now." she admitted to him, trusting him to not take advantage of her moment of weakness.

"And Olivia?" he asked after one of his usual moments of silence.

"As well as you would imagine," she shook her head. "It's been a great shock to her, and I don't think she's fully accepted what has happened. But I am here for her, and together we will get through our loss."

"Can I see her, I wish to pay her my condolences and apologize for not having done so sooner."

"She just fell asleep I'm afraid." she apologized. She was sure, it might have done well for the two to see each other.

"I am glad that she is resting well, " he said, looking awkward standing there in silence, both of them trying to think of what to say next, if they should end the conversation here and say their farewells.

"Perhaps you can visit with her tomorrow night." she suggested. She knew Godric wasn't one to talk or console someone, but sometimes it helped just having someone next to you. They had seemed to get along well before all hell broke lose, Olivia might benefit from having him close to her.

"Please, it might do her some good to have a distraction." she added.

"If you are sure, I wouldn't want to cause her anymore distress." he said, looking almost insecure as he looked down the hall.

"You wouldn't. Like I said, it might be good for her. You might be able to distract her while I make the proper arrangements for Adriana's passing." she said, smiling tiredly. She did her best to hide the pain she was feeling, she had shown enough weakness in front of Godric as it was.

"If you need anything at all, please don't hesitate to ask me, Isabel." said Godric. "I mean it. For vampires, there is no greater pain we can feel than the loss of a child."

"Thank you so much, Godric, you have been too kind to me." she averts her gaze to the floor, feeling shame for what had transpired with Hugo and to be let off so easily, and now her Sheriff was offering assistance.

"Not at all." he gave her the tiniest of smiles. "I will leave you, I am sure you are very tired as well."

"Yes, until tomorrow then." said Isabel.

"Until tomorrow." Godric agreed, giving a small bow of his head before proceeding down the hall to his own room.

Isabel watched him just for a moment before closing the door, returning to Olivia in bed. She slipped beneath the covers, spooning Olivia from behind and holding her in her arms, the covers tucked up to their shoulders. Kissing the young girls hair, Isabel closed her eyes, hoping that if Olivia dreamed she would not have to be tortured by a nightmare of that night events. If she was lucky, she would share the same pleasure as Isabel and not dream at all. Maybe the next night they might be a little closer to healing.

Olivia wasn't sure what time it was when she woke up, stumbling from the bed and out of Isabel's arms towards the bathroom, half conscious. For a brief moment, her memory was wiped, she had a clean slate where she felt no pain or loss, but it all came back when she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror. When she saw her mother's green eyes staring back at her. She fell to the bathroom floor, her knees hitting the tile hard enough she was sure there would be bruises later. But at that time she couldn't really bring herself to care, the aches and pains of her body nothing compared to what she was feeling internally. She heaved, but nothing came up, and her eyes seemed to be dry of all the tears she could produce as she fell to her hands, hyperventilating as she stared at the dark tiles of the bathroom. She was afraid she would never get her breath back as she started to feel dizzy, swaying until she was curled on her side on the bathroom floor.

By the time she had calmed down, she would have been freezing on the cold floor if it wasn't for her fuzzy socks. When she stood, it was on shaky legs and her mouth felt as dry as a dessert. Turning on the faucet she dipped her head and took a long drink. After she had swallowed, and her throat felt better she turned the water from cold to warm and splashed her face, running her hands through her hair. She kept her eyes closed as she faced the mirror and stumbled her way to the bed with her eyes on the floor. Everything was already a little blurry without her glasses, but she wasn't blind enough that she couldn't make it to the bathroom and back to bed. Getting back under the covers, Olivia wrapped her arms around Isabels waist, snuggling into her. The vampire, and even though Isabel was asleep her body automatically move to hold Olivia close against her cold body. Olivia was quick to fall back to sleep after.

When Olivia woke up the second, and final time, the sun had still not gone down and Isabel remained still and unbreathing in bed. Going into the other bed, she pulled the thick curtains back just a crack as to get some sun on her skin. She was used to the nocturnal life now, had come to appreciate the stars and moon over the sun and pale blue of the sky. But once in awhile she just needed to feel the sun on her skin. Today, that need had never been stronger.

Going over to the bag that Brian had brought for her, and at random pulled out a pair of shorts and a soft cotton v-neck. Isabel had put her in a fresh pair of panties already, so she just had to put on a clean bra from her bag. Again, she pulled out one from random, slipping her arms through, leaning forward and clasping the back. Just like her mom had showed her how. Just the thought of her mom had her eyes stinging.

Swallowing she took a deep breath, swiped at her eyes and walked over to the desk in the room. There was a small notepad on the table with the name of the hotel. Grabbing one of the complementary pens she wrote a short note for Isabel. With a hotel this large there was no doubt that she would wake up before she got back. She left it out where she was sure Isabel would see it almost first thing when she woke up. Once that was done she pulled on the converse Brian had put in her bag and tucked the spare key card into the back pocket of her shorts. Believing she had everything she needed, she left the room to explore the hotel. It would be a good distraction, and she was curious about the hotels indoor pool. She heard they had artificial light, so realistic that it was like the vampires were laying out in the sun without the horrible side effect of burning to a crisp.

The hotel was very dark, colored in deep purples, reds while the furniture was all very modern, done in leather and velvet. It screamed passion, sex, and mystery. It was almost comical how hard they tried to embody vampire into the interior decorating. She stopped at a few floors before getting to the bottom, peeking into the gym and the sauna. They even had a salon! She checked out a few of the other floors, but the second and ground floor seemed to hold the most. The second had a number of restaurants and feeding room for the vampires where they could order their own choice of breakfast, lunch and dinner from O- to AB+. There were also a few entertainment rooms, from movie theaters, a dance club including high paid strippers, both male and female. She got a peak of one mans splendid ass as she passed the door. The bouncer gave her one look before shutting the door. She just rolled her eyes. She might not be old enough to drink, but she was old enough to see a man's sweaty, naked body dancing. Too bad she hadn't brought her I.D with her. That would definitely have been a good distraction, sadly she had to keep walking. When your head was filled with thoughts of sex it was hard to think about anything else.

With a sigh she kept walking. She was sure she had mapped out most of the hotel by the time she made it to the ground floor. She couldn't tell how much time had passed, but she was sure the sun must have gone done when she started to recognize the pale faces and fangs mixed with the other patrons of the hotel, that meant Isabel was awake as well, but Olivia was still far from ready to go back yet. So she she hitched a ride down in the elevator to the ground floor with two vampires and a human. She still wanted to see the pool.

When she got down to the pool she found Sookie by the poolside, sunglasses on and laying on a chair sunbathing under the artificial sunlight. She was in a red and white polk o' dotted bikini.

"Sookie? It's you right?" she said walking right into the light, casting the older blond into a shadow.

"Olivia!" she pulled her sunglasses from her face, her blue eyes soft and compassionate as she smiled, inviting her to take the chair next to her.

"Thanks." she said as she sat down, sitting sideways in the seat to face Sookie.

"This artificial sun is pretty great, the heat it gives of really makes it feel, well...real" said Sookie, squinting up at the ceiling.

"Yea, it almost smells like sunlight." Olivia said, taking a deep breath. "Though that probably sounds crazy. Sunlight doesn't have a smell."

"It's not crazy, I know what you mean." she sat up and faced Olivia, giving a pleased moan as she stretched her arms above her head, when she brought them back down, her smile had disappeared.

"I'm sorry I didn't stop by your room last night, I should have. I know what it's like to lose your parents, it's not something you should go through alone." she reached out and touched Olivia's knee gently.

"Thank you, but I'm not alone. I have Isabel, thank god." she said, her voice thick with relief as she remembered how well Isabel had taken care of her the night before.

"Thank god." Sookie agreed. "And I just want to say how sorry I am for your loss, I lost my parents when I was a kid, but even then the pain and loss is so…."

"What I'm trying to say is that I know what you're going through, and if you need someone besides Isabel to talk to you can come to me." she squeezed her knee. "Even though I know we just met."

"That doesn't matter. The sentiment of the offer does, and I appreciate it." she told Sookie with a watery smile.

"So, uh, where's Bill?" Olivia didn't see him anywhere near the pool, but maybe he had gone to get Sookie a drink or something.

"Well, you see, I woke up before him and I just couldn't get back to sleep, so I came down without him. I needed a little light." she explained.

"Yea, me too." Olivia wiped at her eyes.

"It's gonna get better, it'll be damn hard, but you will...together with Isabel, you are going to get through this." Sookie reached up, and dragged her thumb under Olivia's eyes, wiping away a stray tear.

"I know it hurts, Sweety, I know." she repeated, watching as Olivia chin trembled as she tried to keep from crying. "it's ok to cry, know one will judge you if you do. Not after what you just lost."

And cry she did, not as hard as the night before, but just as much and this time it was Sookie who held her as she did. When she was done, the older blond gave her a towel to wipe her face dry.

"Feel a little better?" asked Sookie.

"Still a long way from being ok, but yea, I do feel a smidge better." Olivia did her best to smile and handed the towel back as she stood up.

"Kinda wish Brian had grabbed by bathing suit with the rest of my clothes. A swim sounds awfully tempting right now." she said, walking to the pools edge and sitting down, she took her shoes and socks off, placing them next to her, before dipping her legs into the cool water.

"You could borrow one of mine, if you want. I brought a spare. It might be a little big, but we can tighten the strings on the bottoms and it should fit." Sookie offered. "I'm sure Bill is up by now, I just have to call him and I can have him bring it down."

"Maybe later, but thanks." Olivia kicked her legs in the water.

"You're not from here, right? Dallas, I mean." she looked over her shoulder at Sookie.

"No, I'm from Bon Temps. I was just here to help find Godric," she explained.

"Louisiana, right?" she wanted to clarify.

"Uh huh," Sookie hummed, and slipped her sunglasses back on as she leaned back in her chair again.

"When are you going back?" Olivia asked, humming a song between conversation, her head thrown back to take in the light, her blond hair shimmering gold.

"Tomorrow, I think. Like I said, we only came to help find Godric, and now that's he's found there's no more reason for us to stay. Plus I miss my friends and home," she said.

"Home is the last place I want to be right now, I don't even want to be in this state anymore." Olivia mumbled to herself. But Sookie didn't have to hear her speak out loud to know what she said, she could hear it in the girls head. Sookie just wished there was more she could do for her.

"Ladies," a sultry voice drawled behind them. Turning their heads they saw it was Eric, wearing almost the exact same outfit he had the night before. Dark jeans and a black wife beater. For some reason Olivia thought as a vampire he would have a deeper sense for fashion. But at least he pulled it off well.

"Hi, Eric," Olivia tried to smile. "Is Godric alright? I feel so bad about last night. I kinda just threw him off of me and forgot about him after he protected me."

"He is well. I believe he went to visit you earlier but you weren't there." he told her.

"You should be honored that a vampire such as Godric has shown such concern for you." he said, his voice cold and eyes bored as he looked her over before they gained some life to them as her roamed those same eyes up from the tip of Sookie's toes to her breasts.

"I am," Olivia promised. She knew well the importance of status and age, and the way the difference between humans and vampires were seen. For vampires, especially the older ones, they demanded a great deal of respect. And if you knew their age, you should show it if you knew your place. Not that Olivia agreed with that type of submissive behavior, but Godric didn't have to step in front of her and protect her, and it's because he did that she had no problem showing him

"What do you want, Eric." Sookie practically growled at him, though she didn't dare to look at him. Her dream was still too fresh in her memory. Damn his trickery. She had no idea how long she would have these dreams, and it was extremely awkward to wake up from one while laying right next to Bill.

"Your presence has been requested for a meeting with Nan Flanagan regarding last night." he explained, the side of his mouth turning up in a sexy smirk as he continued to admire Sookie's body and she finally grabbed a towel to cover herself.

"I'm not going without Bill." she told him, his immediate reply was a roll of his eyes.

"Yes, I figured that, that's why Bill has already been made aware of the time and place and the two of you will join the rest of us." he said, waving off Sookie's irritation towards him.

"What about Isabel?" Olivia asked, swinging her legs out of the water.

"As Godric's second she is required, but Godric has told me that if you wish, you may join us to quietly observe." he told her, looking almost annoyed by Godrics favor towards her.

"Thank you, I think I will." she had already left Isabel and she had yet to really think about how this affect Isabel and what she was feeling. It wasn't fair of her to leave her alone for too long when she had taken such good care of her. Now, it was time for her to take care of Isabel.

But first she needed to thank Godric.

"Eric, can you tell me where Godric is?" Olivia stood, slipping on her socks and then her shoes. It was uncomfortable, but she really wanted to hurry to where.

"He's in his room," he answered flatly.

"And the room number is….?" he stared at her unamused. In truth he did not believe her worthy of his maker, but Godric seemed to like her and she him and it was not his place to tell who and who Godric could not see. He told her the room number.

"Make sure to check in with Isabel, she was greatly concerned that you left earlier." he told her as she was walking past him. He had no clue why he had told her that, why he would have bothered at all with something that did not pertain to him. But Isabel had been a great help to him while searching for Godric, using all her resources and losing a lover in the process to save Godric. Though he didn't believe that the loss of Hugo was a great one, she would find another lover, a better and more suitable one for herself. They had eternity after all, she would move on from his memory shortly, he was sure.

"Thanks for letting me know," she smiled at him, stopping shoulder to shoulder with him. Once again she had to face the reality of how tiny she was compared to him. "I'll see you both at the meeting later, I guess. Bye."

Sookie cheerfully said her goodbyes to Olivia before she went, waving as she left before scowling once she was alone with Eric. The viking only continued to smirk, pulling his top over his head and toeing off the shoes he was wearing to lay on the chair beside her, snatching the glassed from her head and slipping them on.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" she cursed at him, fuming as she watched him so casually recline back. "And where the is Bill?"

"I am sunbathing," he stated simply lifting and resting his arms up and behind his head, the muscles of his pectorals stretching, his stomach taunt with a hill of a six pack leaving little dips. He wasn't hairy like Bill, accept for his under arms and a pale blonde happy trail that lead down into his pants.

"And I have no idea or care where Compton is." he said, still grinning.

The warmth he felt on his skin felt amazing. The fast development of technology would never cease to impress him in that way, especially how it become so centering on catering to vampires these days. Hotel Carmilla was a perfect example of such a thing, not to mention all of New Orleans, the heart of vampiric life since they came out of the coffin. Despite the sensation the artificial light gave, it was nothing to the woman next to him who oozed sunshine, from the heat to the smell. Her blood was the same way. She was like sunshine in a pretty blond bottle.

"By the way, Lover, did you sleep well?" he tipped his head and peered at her over the shades of the sunglasses, his grin a fangy one this time around.
"Your despicable, how dare you force your way into my head like that!" she stood, throwing her towel down on him.

"I didn't force anything on you. Did I trick you, yes. But by now I had through Bill would have already told you about the full effects our blood has on humans, not my fault he didn't think it wise to divulge such important information." he shrugged tossing the towel to the floor.

Sookie wanted to argue, but she couldn't. Eric was right. Bill had told her only a few things about the effects of vampire blood, but he never went into the full details, only giving her vague explanations. If she had known, Sookie might have seen through Eric's act last night. But that still didn't change that Eric has tricked her. Grabbing her bag, Sookie marched off back to her room. She and Bill needed to have a serious talk before they went home.

Pushing up the glasses once more, Eric laid by the pool pleased with himself. He had put another nail in the coffin that was Sookie and Bill's relationship.

Soon enough he would have the girl in the white dress.

I really need to watch the show and read the books again to really get Sookie and Eric's characters down. I loved them so much in the books, and I love the actor for Eric in the show. And though I do enjoy Anna Paquin as an actress I wasn't the biggest fan of her work as Sookie. Your free of course to imagine her however you like, but the Sookie I am trying to embody in this story is the one from the books: Young, big books, curvy body, blue eyed and naturally blonde Sookie Stackhouse and is no kept woman. Again, you can picture her however you like.

But what's important is that I get their personalities right, and that is going to be a bit more tricky than I thought, so wish me luck.

Love you guys so much.
