When Stef finally arrived that evening, she expected to come home to the usual level of noisiness she was used to. Any other day, when she got home some of their children would be home, playing videogames, doing homework or just making noise, but that day the only thing she could hear was the soft sound of a guitar coming from the backyard, so letting out a soft sigh she started walking in search of her wife.

"Hi, love," Stef murmured approaching Lena, who was quietly sitting on the kitchen table with a cup of tea secure between her hand. "How are you doing?"She asked, putting her arms around her wife as Lena was leaning back into her while her eyes scanned the backyard looking for Callie.

"I'm okay" the brunette replied with a sigh, taking comfort from her wife. "You should have seen her this afternoon."

"I can only imagine"

"I'm not really sure you can," Lena replied shaking her head and trying to turn in her chair. "I wouldn't be able to do if I wasn't there.

After they successfully agreeing that Stef was going to pick up Callie when her detention was over they had inform their daughter, but due to a late arrest it had been Lena waiting in her car at the parking lot instead of Stef. And to say that her daughter wasn't trill by the change of arrangements was an understatement.

"So, what happened?" Stef asked sitting in the chair next to Lena, but keeping her hand above her wife's.

"I honestly don't know. She was evasive when she left my office this morning but she didn't seem to be in a bad mood or anything, more like remorseful about something" Lena said while trying to recall any out of the ordinary.

Despite arriving late at school and getting into a fight in the middle of the hallway, she acted like her regular self during the rest of the day. She had looked after her daughter the rest of the day, subtly asking her teacher about her and reaching out to both of hers daughters as they sat at lunch time together, trying to determine if it was better to send her home for the day.

"But when we left the school after detention, she was annoyed by something or someone; probably you and I because of the change of plans, and I guess she just took it out on me."

"I could try to talk to her, but you know how she is," Stef offered, knowing that trying to get her daughter to talk about something she wasn't ready to share could easily backfire, like it had probably happened to her wife.

"Just change first, please."

"Sure thing," Stef murmured already standing up and walking out of the kitchen.

I know that this chapters is way too short and too much of a filler, but the rest of this chapter (and story) is really fighting me, but I want to assure you that I'm not giving up. I will try (and I promise) to update two more times this year. This one is unedited because I'm beta-less and keep in mind that english is not my first language. I'm really sorry for this long waits, but like I said, I'm going to finish this.
