April Fool's Day

Hi guys! Wow, it's been so long since I've posted a chapter, but I finally got my butt in gear and wrote this down. I'm sorry if this isn't as good as my other chapters, but I want to get it up tonight. There wasn't a lot of editing, barely any at if I'm completely honest, so hopefully this isn't a mess that's hard to read.

Please read this note! Before we get started though, there's something I need to address. I read l.c.'s reviews, and all the other guest reviews. For those of you who were concerned that l.c.'s ideas would, in mild words, not be good for my story and might even result in it getting taken down, I appreciate the concern, I really do. However, review boxes are for offering praise, constructive criticism, and ideas, not for bashing another reviewers' ideas. I noticed some name calling in there and I don't want that. I had this problem earlier, when one guest reviewer bashed one of YamiTenshi223's ideas and Dina gloated that I was considering using that idea. I ignored it at the time since I didn't want to delete any reviews and it seemed like an isolated incident. But this has been repetitive, and that's why I chose to delete those reviews. Again, review boxes are not for bashing people or arguing with each other, they're for telling me what you like about my story, providing constructive criticism, etc…

I know from the reviews that some of you were concerned about l.c.'s ideas. When I read reviews and PMs that have ideas and suggestions for my story, I will consider them carefully and decide whether or not to use them. I have ideas for this story and what I want to do with it. Like I said, I appreciate those who were concerned for me getting into trouble because of plagiarism (and believe me, I really do appreciate it, since it means you like my story and want it to stay up), but I don't want to see review boxes filled with arguments. If you have concerns like that, I would appreciate you talking to me about them in PM, where the conversation can be kept between us, like MissBrains101 did earlier. For those of you who don't have a Fanfiction account, I understand that you can't do that, but if you are concerned for me and my writing and absolutely cannot reach me except by review boxes, I ask that you tell me your concerns respectfully, okay, and trust that I will take them seriously. I understand that this situation is partly my fault since I didn't address this situation at first and let it carry on for too long. But the short story is that I want everyone to enjoy my story and feel free to leave comments and suggestions in a friendly environment.

I apologize for the long author's note, but I did feel this was a serious situation. Please understand that I don't intend to brush aside concern and I don't want to offend any of you. I only ask that concerns are addressed privately with me, or respectfully if you can only put them in a review box.

And l.c., please know that I read any and all reviews, so you don't need to post them quite so many times, okay?

Quick note, a lot of these pranks were found on under 41 Genius April Fool's Days Pranks Your Kids Will Totally Fall For on . Some of them are my own invention and others are what I found on buzzfeed. I'll put a list on the bottom of the chapter.

Now, on with the story. I got this request from a guest reviewer called Jiminy, and I hope I can still write a great story for you guys. Enjoy!

Atem yawned and stretched, not wanting to get out of bed. The sun was shining on him, making for the perfect temperature, and since it his face was still buried in the pillow, it didn't blind him behind his eyelids. His bed seemed extra comfortable, as Yugi claimed often happened when one would have to leave bed soon for school or work. He almost wanted to beg off school, but he knew that would never work. His parents would never let him skip just because of a comfy bed, just as his original parents in ancient Egypt would never let him miss out on lessons even when he found a most comfortable spot in the garden to lie down.

He heard Yugi stirring on the bed across the room, starting to get up, and supposed he would have to as well. Lifting his head and opening one bleary eye, he read 7:15 on his alarm clock and allowed his face to sink back into the pillow. Surely, he could manage at least fifteen minutes more of sleep…

"YAH!" Atem's upper body shot straight upward at Yugi's yell, eyes racing all around the room for the source of the danger until they finally landed on his younger brother, who was examining his foot with a look of disbelief. Noticing nothing out of the ordinary, Atem groaned, wondering what had possessed Yugi to yell like that when nothing was apparently wrong, and wracking his brain for solutions. Unfortunately, none came. Yugi didn't look to be in pain, the foot he was staring at appeared to be completely normal, and he didn't see anyone or anything else in the room that would cause that kind of reaction. Deciding the quickest way to find out was to look at the foot himself, he swung himself around so that he was sitting up and facing Yugi, rubbing his eyes to clear the last of sleep from them. As he lowered his feet to the floor, he didn't bother masking his irritation.

"Yugi, what—" was all he managed to grumble before he let loose a yell almost exactly like Yugi's. For instead of the soft carpet he usually felt, his feet were submerged in something wet and icy cold. Glancing down, he finally noticed a rather large plastic container filled to the brim with ice. A quick examination of Yugi's side of the room revealed yet another container on the side of Yugi's bed, which was the likely cause of Yugi's sudden yell earlier.

Speaking of Yugi, the other gave him a sympathetic look before flicking on his phone and checking something. "I should have known." The younger twin shook his head.

Now Atem was confused. "You were expecting something like this?" Then why hadn't Yugi warned him?

"Not this exactly," Yugi corrected. "But at least something this morning."

"Why?" asked Atem, now completely lost. While practical jokes weren't unheard of, the Muto's usually preferred verbal teasing to pranks.

"Because it's today."

"Is there something special about today?"

Yugi gave him an odd look before the realization hit him. "You don't know?" He grinned sheepishly. "I guess I forgot to tell you because I forgot about it myself. But today's April 1st. April Fool's Day."

"April Fool's Day?" asked Atem, supposing it was another modern holiday he knew nothing about.

Yugi nodded. "Yeah. April Fool's Day isn't one of those major holidays where you time off from school or work or anything…" He chuckled at Atem's groan. "It's a day where everyone plays pranks on each other."

"Really?" A holiday for playing pranks? This coming summer, Atem was approaching the first-year anniversary of gaining his own body, but even after almost a year in the modern world, the customs and holidays still sometimes surprised him.

"Yeah, today's a day where we'll wanna watch our backs a bit more closely, especially around Joey and Tristan. Grandpa too." Yugi added as an afterthought. "Especially since he got up bright and early to get us with this."

Atem's gaze jerked to the containers on the floor. "How do you know this was him?"

Yugi pointed to the container by Atem's bed. "There's a note on one of the sides, saying 'Happy April Fool's Day Atem! Hope you liked my first little surprise. Love, Grandpa.'"

The former Pharaoh stared, then carefully stepped over the container and read the note for himself. "So, this means that we spend the whole day avoiding pranks form friends and family." He glanced at Yugi. "How is that enjoyable for anyone?" He regretted the irritation in his voice—Yugi wasn't the one to set up this prank, after all—but he was still tired.

Yugi gave him a small smile. "Well, I think what people enjoy most about it is pranking right back."

"You can prank back?" asked Atem. A second later, he wanted to smack his forehead. Of course they could prank back.

Yugi laughed as he responded. "Of course!" He shook his head as he finally got his laughter under control. "Boy, you must be really out it."

Atem rubbed the back of his neck. "Sorry Yugi, it's just…"

Yugi gave him a sympathetic smile. "It's alright. And I think I know why too. You just had to read Old Wives' Tales and write a report on it for English just yesterday, right?"

The older twin nodded. "Yes, you're right. The book was interesting at some points, but more often than not, it just couldn't hold my attention."

"And so you procrastinated reading it, so you had to finish reading and writing the report in three days." Yugi snickered at Atem's slightly guilty expression. "Hey, different people like different books. I've had that experience. And maybe a little fun on April Fool's Day is exactly what you need now."

Atem eyes brightened, and he let loose a sly smile. "Perhaps it is," he replied, opening the door to head downstairs, Yugi close behind.

As both boys entered the hallway, a sudden loud noise that Atem didn't know to describe blared right next to them, causing both to jump and crash into each other, landing in an undignified heap on the floor. The two glared up at Hidekazu, who was holding an air horn and smirking. "Morning boys."

Yugi chuckled and rolled his eyes. "Haha, Dad," he grumbled good-naturedly, Atem mimicking him as their father pulled both boys to their feet. "Should we be worried about Mom trying to scare us with the car horn?"

Hidekazu chuckled. "No, at least from this family that's the only prank that involves loud noises. "Come on, time for breakfast." Atem grinned. Looking back on it, the prank was rather funny, and if it had been him behind the horn, he probably would have laughed too. Unpleasant morning wake-up call aside, this day might turn out to be fun.

His theory was further solidified when Hikekazu offered them juice. Yugi sniffed experimentally at his, trying to determine if the contents in his glass consisted of anything other than juice, much to his parents' amusement. Following his younger brother's lead, Atem took the precaution as well, since Yugi had more experience in modern day pranks, both as the prankster and the recipient, especially within his own family.

However, it seemed even Yugi couldn't anticipate all his parents' pranks. When he and by extension Atem were finally convinced that the contents of the glass were harmless, both attempted to drink, only for the supposed "juice" to not move an inch. Hidekazu confessed over laughter that he'd actually filled the cups with jello. Their attempt at eating fared no better. Yugi grabbed his favorite cereal and attempted to fill a bowl, only for Atem's favorite to pour out instead. Acting on a hunch, Atem poured only a little into his bowl and found Yugi's missing cereal. After breakfast, when their shoes fit more snugly than they had the previous day, Momose confessed that she had stuffed toilet paper into their shoes and had switched the cereal bags for Yugi and Atem's breakfast before she and Hidekazu left for work.

"I've got a few pranks in mind to get back at them, if you want to help me," Yugi said as they put their toothbrushes away.

The former Pharaoh smirked. "I'm in. What did you have in mind?"

Yugi held up a hand, revealing green pellets. "If we can get these in the sink, they'll turn the water green for a little bit. Give Grandpa a little surprise." Atem laughed as he helped Yugi stick the pellets under the faucet cap.

"I wish we could be present to witness Grandpa's face when he turns the water on."

Yugi laughed as well. "Yeah, that probably wouldn't work though. Grandpa would be suspicious if we wanted to watch him wash his hands."

Atem agreed. "True, very true." His eyes fell on Solomon's comic book collection and a few of the finance magazines and a lightbulb lit in his head. "Yugi?"

"Hmm?" His brother was distracted, trying to stuff a book into backpack.

"Since you let me help with your prank on Grandpa, will you help me with another one?"

Yugi glanced up, curious. "What did you have in mind?"

Atem smirked. "We have a printer here that also functions as a copy machine?"

Yugi frowned slightly, thoughtfully. "It can only copy one page at a time, but close enough. Why?"

"I was thinking. We have enough time copy the covers of several of Grandpa's comic books before we leave for school, correct?" Atem asked, his face alight with mischief.

"Yes…" Yugi replied, wondering where his twin was going with this.

"Would he notice the difference if we pasted those copies on top of those finance magazines there?" Now Atem's face was positively evil.

Yugi's eyes widened and he started laughing hard. "Probably…not…until…he opened it…" Soon Yugi couldn't speak at all, breaking into fresh bouts of hilarity whenever he tried to get ahold of himself, and only once he started helping Atem make the copies and paste them on the finance magazines did he finally calm down, though he still snickered fairly regularly on their way to school.

"What I wouldn't give to see his face!" Atem agreed wholeheartedly with that statement.

On arriving at school, the pair kept their eyes peeled for any sign of Joey or Tristan, but the hallways were surprisingly quiet, or as quiet as they ever were with more than hundred teens milling about.

Tapping on his locker door, hoping for a hint as to whether there was anything inside to worry about, Yugi listened for a few moments before carefully opening the door. His jaw dropped and he let out a groan. "Very funny guys," he called out.

Atem, curious as to what prompted this reaction, checked Yugi's locker for himself and had to stifle a laugh. Inside were a bunch of balloons shaped and colored like Yugi's head. Stuck on one balloon was a note which read Hey Yug, what do you think? Tristan and I managed to find these online and thought you might like them. Happy April Fool's!

He barely dared glance at Yugi, whose tomato red face was threatening to send him to the floor. This was just too funny.

Yugi finally noticed Atem's struggle, and impossibly his blush increased. "Oh, knock it off!" When Atem continued snickering, he grabbed the extra jacket he kept in the locker for emergencies and draped it over the balloons. He then pushed them to the bottom and placed a couple books he was reading for fun on top of the pile, to make sure the balloons couldn't float back up. Glancing to the side, he noticed Atem was examining something in his own locker, before pulling out an Oreo.

Yugi didn't even have time to warn him about suspicious sweets before the former Pharaoh took a bite and spat it out the next second. As Atem raced toward the fountain and began gulping down water, Yugi took a peek inside his brother's locker and found a pile of Oreos with a note inside, telling Atem to enjoy the treat.

He gave his brother a teasing smile, not in the mood to be sympathetic because of what Yugi found in his locker minutes before. "The note is signed Tea…"

Atem frowned. "This type of prank does not seem like her style."

Yugi chuckled. "It isn't. Take a closer look." He handed the paper to Atem. "That isn't Tea's handwriting."

The older Muto twin studied the note for a few moments before his eyes widened in realization. As Yugi chuckles ceased, snickering from another hallway reached the two boys' ears and they cast suspicious glances in that direction.

Two very familiar teenage boys, one blonde and the other brunette, raced away when they noticed Yugi and Atem's gazes. Moments later, roaring laughter could be heard across quite possibly the whole school.

Atem glanced at Yugi, who gave him a small commiserating smile. "Looks like they got us."

The slightly taller teen nodded, taking a moment to grab the remaining fake Oreos and toss them in the trash. "Apparently. But the day is still young. We still have time to repay them, do we not?" He asked, a sly grin on his face.

Yugi agreed. "Yeah, and they just made a pretty big mistake."

Atem raised an eyebrow. "Oh?"

Yugi's grin turned positively devious. "Their lockers are located very close to ours, and they're probably on the opposite end of the school by now."

Atem was starting to like this holiday more and more.

When Yugi and Atem arrived in the classroom, they found Joey and Tristan rubbing their arms and grumbling, while Tea grinned and Bakura chuckled. On seeing the new arrivals however, the grumbling boys shifted from annoyed to smug.

"So, how'd you guys like the presents we left you?" Tristan asked, leaning forward and giving a cocky grin. He and Joey both laughed when Atem and Yugi rolled their eyes.

"Pretty impressive guys," the younger twin replied. "But you do realize we're going to have to get you back for that."

"Bring it on," said Joey, leaning back in his seat with all the confidence of the untouchable. "Let's see what those spikey heads of yours can come up with."

Yugi and Atem shared a secret grin, which Joey and Tristan thankfully didn't notice. Tea chuckled and lightly slapped Yugi on the arm.

It seemed harmless enough, but at Yugi's sudden yelp, Atem jumped himself and whipped his head around to see Yugi rubbing his shoulder much the same way that Joey and Tristan were earlier. "Yugi, what…" This behavior was so abnormal, Atem didn't know what to do.

"Relax Atem." Tea put her hand on his shoulder as if to reassure him, only for Atem to yelp himself. The moment Tea's hand touched his shoulder, he jumped as a shock coursed throughout his body. It only lasted for a moment, but as he recovered from the surprise he noticed he was rubbing his shoulder and suddenly realized that whatever was going on, she had something to do with it.

Tea saw his confusion and gave him another reassuring smile though this one was also tinged with humor. She held up a hand and Atem finally saw the curious device attached to it. "It's a joy buzzer," she explained. "Classic April Fool's Day prank."

Atem studied the device for a few seconds more before letting out a small laugh. "I'm guessing you got Joey and Tristan just as we arrived."

Tea grinned. "Yeah, and Bakura earlier." She giggled. "I wish you could have seen their faces!"

Yugi let out a laugh at that. "Me too. Any other interesting pranks we missed?" he asked, smiling from ear to ear.

Joey and Tristan snickered. "Well, we managed to sneak a stuffed snake into Tea's locker," said Tristan

"Yeah man, she musta jumped clear across the hallway." Joey said, laughing.

Tea blushed as Joey and Tristan moved to describe how they pranked Bakura by rigging a squirting flower in his locker. Thankfully for Bakura, his jacket had been open at the time, so he could now close it to cover the wet spot. Atem and Yugi laughed at their friends' antics.

Throughout the rest of the day, pranks abounded through the rest of the school. After first period, Joey and Tristan opened their lockers only to find the faces of monsters staring back at them. They screamed and clung to each other, only to realize that the 'monsters' were only masks hanging in their lockers and glared at Atem and Yugi's laughing forms. Tea rolled her eyes after shrieking at the spider in her locker and Bakura chuckled when he found notes in his locker, apparently from aliens threatening to abduct him. He knew his new obsession with a sci-fi series focused on alien abductions was going to come back and bite him.

That didn't mean he had any intention of taking pranks from Atem and Yugi without retaliation, or from any of his friends. During third period, Bakura asked to be excused to use the bathroom and took the opportunity to glue some coins to the floor in front of Joey's locker and to place a fake parking ticket on Tristan's mortorcyle, the results of which nearly sent him to the floor in laughter. At lunch, Bakura pretended to spill milk on Tea's backpack, only for the "milk" to be a mixture of glue and soap that was harmless. He also switched Yugi and Atem's sodas, actually cracking down laughing when they both took their first sips through the straws and spat them back out.

Even the teachers and faculty joined in on the fun. The cafeteria ladies served what appeared to be ice cream sundaes for dinner, but were actually mashed potatoes with gravy and a cherry in sundae bowls. For dessert, they provided grilled cheese sandwiches, or so they first seemed. The sandwiches actually consisted of pound cake with frosting in the middle. One of the teachers handed out iPhones, only to reveal they were made of chocolate.

The last period, history, finally provided Atem and Yugi the chance to retaliate against their parents. Their history teacher, instead of assigning a chapter to read over the next few days, allowed the students a free period to enjoy April Fool's Day, leaving them alone with the warning that if any pranks resulted in injury or property destruction, he would assign them projects and presentations every week for the rest of the year, ensuring his pupils cooperation.

Atem and Yugi used the opportunity to execute the plans they'd developed on the way to school. They called their father at his workplace pretending to be the head of Law and head of Public Relations who argued so often at the company he worked at. They burst out laughing when Hidekazu finally realized it was them and hung up soon after. Shortly afterward they called Momose, pretending to be telemarketers selling a new type of vacuum. The results from this prank were just as entertaining as the former.

Even on the way home, the spirit of the holiday lingered. As Yugi and Atem walked home, taking the long way through the park due to the beautiful weather, Joey and Tristan managed to sneak up on them and spray Atem with a hose. Yugi only escaped because he'd left to check out a bird's nest.

Watching Joey and Tristan run away laughing, water dripping off his clothes and hair, Atem frowned for a few moments before a smirk overtook his face, promising retribution.

"That Duke's a real piece of work," Joey grumbled. Tristan nodded in agreement.

Tea chuckled. "Yeah, but come on guys. You have to admit it was a good prank."

Bakura and Yugi snickered and Atem smiled at the group on the couch. Everyone had gathered together that evening in order to hang out and pull some last-minute pranks before the holiday was over. Solomon had once again demonstrated his pranking prowess, though Atem would say each victim gave as good as they got. They'd even received an unexpected prank from their favorite dice-loving friend.

Even though Duke wasn't in Domino, he'd still managed to pull one over the entire group by sending them plane tickets for a vacation in Hawaii. Joey and Tristan had danced around the room—with that little victory dance they used when visiting the capsule world in India—before Solomon, who had traveled by plane many times, took a closer look at the tickets. Tea then found a note in her envelope revealing that the tickets were fake. Joey and Tristan had been sulking for a good ten minutes.

While disappointed in being unable to fly to such a desired vacation spot, Atem and Yugi had to admit Duke had got all of them good and wished they could think up as good a prank to send him. Unfortunately, Duke was traveling around promoting Dungeon Dice Monsters, and they weren't entirely sure where he was now, or what kind of joke they could pull over on him.

"Well, look at the bright side." Solomon's voice jerked Yugi and Atem out of their thoughts. "At least you all got to play a part in pranking Kaiba. How many can say they've done that?"

Joey and Tristan blinked at the reminder, then burst out laughing, falling off the couch, and the rest of the room soon followed. Now that had been an adventure.

Mokuba had started and orchestrated the whole thing, sending all of them fake checks in the mail with large sums of money with forms to fill out in order to collect. He'd called them after school, enjoying what he imagined were their expressions when they learned he had pranked them. After his laugh was done, he'd asked them to fill out the forms anyway and drop them off in a box that he would then take to his brother, informing them that Seto would think they were real for a few moments at least. The group had done so, laughing at the thought of Kaiba realizing he supposedly owed money to the geek squad, as they called them. Mokuba had texted the group a couple hours later, thanking them for their help and informing them that even though he was probably in trouble for the prank, his brother's expression those first few moments had been entirely worth it. He'd also assured them that Seto knew Mokuba was the main perpetrator of the prank.

With one last chuckle at the thought of Kaiba's reaction, Atem glanced around the living room, thinking back on everyone else's pranks over the course of the evening. Solomon had placed a fart cushion on Bakura's seat, resulting in a tomato red boy, put tape on the remote sensor when Tea wanted to change the channel, rendering the remote unable to do anything. The whole room had snickered when Solomon let slip that he might have left Tristan's old love puzzle to Miho on the counter and hinted that Joey's tab at the store had exceeded seventy-five dollars, getting a good laugh at the boys' faces when they realized he'd pranked them.

Basking in his success, Solomon had unfortunately neglected to watch his back afterwards. Joey managed to snitch Tea's joy buzzer and use it on him, while Bakura mentioned the old crossword book that looked like it hadn't been touched getting thrown in the trash. Tea and Tristan's pranks were considered the best though. Tea had pretended that she'd eaten all of Solomon's chocolates when in reality she'd hid them on a high shelf. Tristan had stuck a note to Solomon's back which said Caution: Liable to break back and clog traffic. Linger at your own risk. The whole room had laughed at that note and even more so at the old man's expression when he finally found it.

There was one final prank for the night though, and Atem smirked at the thought of it. He still owed Joey and Tristan for the hose at the park, and he knew he would need stealth to pull it off. Those two had more experience in April Fool's Day pranks then he did, and they knew it. The former Pharaoh had been setting buckets up on doors and placed an air horn in an obvious place. As he'd hoped, both had seen the "pranks" coming from a mile away and mocked him about being obvious, more so when he had placed fart cushions where he knew they'd see them. He had grumbled when they'd continued mocking him and left the room when Solomon asked him to get the soda, only letting the smirk on his face show when he was sure they wouldn't see him.

He returned to the room a few minutes later, handing everyone a bottle. Tea gave the cap a hard twist and was surprised when it just popped open. "That's weird."

"Not really," Atem replied. "I figured I could open them before I brought them out, save everyone a bit of trouble."

Joey and Tristan froze, the latter studying his bottle closely. "I don't think so." His eyes narrowed on Atem. "You did something to 'em, didn't you?"

"Of course not," replied Atem, gesturing to Tea, who had already taken a sip of hers. "Just ask Tea."

The girl frowned, but nodded. "Yeah, there was nothing wrong with mine."

Joey snapped his fingers. "Wait, I get it. You only did somethin' to mine and Tristan's, but left the others alone." Joey smirked and wagged his finger. "Haven't you learned by now you can't pull one over on us."

Atem put on his best innocent face. "I don't know what you're talking about. I did nothing to those two bottles," he said pointing to the ones in Joey's and Tristan's hands.

Tristan snorted. "Nice try pal, but that's not going to work." He pushed himself up off the couch, grabbing the two remaining bottles in Atem's hands and giving him the ones he and Joey originally held.

Atem sighed and lifted the bottle up to his lips hiding a smile as Joey and Tristan each took a huge gulp of their bottles, only to spit it out a second, coughing, gagging, and fanning their mouths with their hands, racing out of the room seconds later to find a sink.

The rest of the occupants in the room cracked up laughing as wry eyes turned towards Atem, who maintained his innocent expression for maybe two seconds before he let a smirk overtake his face.

Joey and Tristan returned to the room a few minutes later, looking disgruntled, which prompted another bout of laughter from the rest of the room. The two boys glared back before turning their gazes to Atem. "What did you do?" asked Tristan, folding his arms.

Atem's smirk widened. "Hot sauce," he replied.

"But we switched bottles!" Joey protested.

Atem chuckled. "I know." He grinned even wider at the confused expressions before elaborating. "I knew I couldn't add hot sauce to your soda without alerting you that I was up to something. Therefore, I decided to open everyone's bottles and let you think I was being obvious about my scheme. The bottles you originally took were completely normal, as were Tea's, Bakura's, and Grandpa's. Since theirs were normal, you knew I was specifically targeting you and, as I hoped, you switched your bottles with the ones I had, thinking yours were tampered with. And so, you ended up taking the ones that I wanted you to take from the beginning."

The rest of the room gave him impressed looks. "Nice," Yugi congratulated him. Then a thought occurred to him. "By the way, the obvious pranks earlier. Did you make them obvious on purpose to trick Joey and Tristan into lowering their guard?"

The smile Yugi wore told Atem the younger twin already knew the answer, but nonetheless, he chuckled and raised his hands. "Guilty as charged."

The two victims sighed, but gave him small smiles. "Gotta admit, that was pretty good there pal," said Joey.

"But," said Tristan, his smile widening, "this means that we'll be watching out for those kinds of pranks next year. Good luck with catching us by surprise then."

Atem smirked. "Don't worry, I know better than to plan the same prank twice. I'll plan something else next year."

Eventually, as they all knew had to happen eventually, the evening wound down and everyone had to prepare for bed. Solomon, Hidekazu, and Momose, when the latter two had finally arrived home, had offered to let everyone spend the night, which the teens eagerly accepted.

As Atem laid down, he smiled. Yugi, Hidekazu, and Momose had congratulated him on his prank, and he could hardly believe his day had started with him not wanting to get out of bed. This had been one of the most entertaining days of his life. As he'd gotten older in Egypt, he hadn't had as much time for playing jokes, and he'd forgotten how much he missed it, and while he tended more towards seriousness now, he would welcome the opportunities ahead, especially on a day designated for practical jokes. With those thoughts and plans for future pranks, Atem drifted off to sleep.

So, what did you guys think? Am I still able to write good stories, even though it's been awhile since I've written anything. Again, I'm sorry for the long delay and hope you've enjoyed this chapter. Here's the list I mentioned at the beginning of the chapter. I'd love to hear your thoughts, so please review.
