Chapter 21 Race to the Finish

In the Drumheller dessert a plane crash with the Tv host standing close by could be seen.

"The hot tub with my name spelled out in Italian tiles...gone. My monogrammed sneakers...gone. My custom calibrated stubble trimmer...gone. " Chris spoke to no one as he mourner all his possessions that were lost in the explosion, leaving Heather and Alejandro to watch in awkwardness.

"Sooo, shall we continue the game?" The Spanish teen asked, not being able to keep quiet anymore.
"Yeah. I second that. Totally." Heather chimed in, her mind on the game.

"As usual, you two are thinking of nothing but yourselves." Chris began to whine at their behaviour.

"What about the bigger Humanitarian crisis? How am I supposed to keep this face fresh without my hyperbolic chamber?" The host desperately asked, with worries for his beauty.

Meanwhile the second male contestant was digging through the wreckage of the plane to find anything to help the injured blonde who was resting a bit away under a meager shelter he built from salvaged airplane parts. He had already found a change of clothes and had put ointment and bandages on the most severe looking burns, but still anything would be welcome.

As he lifted heavy slabs of metal so he could see what had survived, his thoughts turned dark. He wasn't going to lie to himself, Dawn was the best thing that had happened to him on this show, heck he loved her, and seeing her in pain and unconscious like this pained him. She had whimpered in pain when he treated her burns, her sweet face twisted in pain as the medicine was applied, and had woken up before going back to sleep a few hours ago. He was able to sedate her so she shouldn't be feeling much pain.

"Can we do anything to help amigo?" The Hispanic teen asked, as he and the queen bee left the weeping host to see what the two other teen were doing. Seeing the condition the small blonde was in They went to the wreckage to try and find something to help, but were interrupted when Chief pushed out a huge metal crate.

"Hey! My emergency kit! We`re saved!" Chris cheered, running up to his assistant.

"That's right kids, get ready for surf, sun and beauties in grass skirts. We`re going to Hawa~ii." the host began to imitate a hule dance with his hands, getting excited cheers from the teens who thought they weren't stranded there anymore. But only two out of four were cheering, since Dawn was unconscious and Cody didn't feel like cheering.

The crate was dismantled, showing what the emergency kit was.
"Uh? Is that a two-seater?" Alejandro asked
"Yup. Chef flies, I supervise." Chris chirped as he and the large man walked to the plane.
"And we?" The Spaniard teen questioned.
"Will be competing to get to the big island first, using only your wits and whatever you can find out here."
"But we`re in the middle of nowhere! And Dawn really needs professional medical help!" Cody protested.

"True. So check these fancy-dancy GPS`s I`m giving you." Chris said in his usual uncaring way, making the brunette glare at him.
While that happened, Heather checked her GPS.
"Middle of nowhere, Alberta….Well they work." she deadpanned.

"Set the for Tijuana Beach, it's right on the Mexican border. Now go go go!" he shouted as the helicopter began to power on.
"Wait what about Dawn?!" Cody asked once again.

"Make like she took the drop of shame and figure it out herself." That made Cody glare at the helicopter that was taking off even looks could kill, that machine would have exploded just like the plane did.
"Don't worry, you're all totally gonna make it." the host shouted and the heli took off in the air leaving the four teenagers alone in the dessert.

Cody, whose glare was still at full power, following the direction the heli took off in spoke.

"You two should hurry up, I`ll go after I make sure Dawn is okay." before going back to the wreckage to dig out more items that hopefully survived.

Seeing that the Spaniard and the Queen Bee couldn't argue and left the teen to do what he wanted. They used the GPS and began to walk.

As the two walked Alejandro asked the question that had been on his mind since yesterday.
"You did vote for Cody, why?" that made Heather turn to look at him.
"Because you saved me, if that rock had begun to sink in the ground it would have crushed me or I could have been stuck there until I dies from starvation or heatstroke. Why, did you think I wouldn`t honour our deal?" she asked, looking a bit put off.
"N-no." The male teen tried to deny.
"You did!" Heather saw through his hesitance. "You thought would vote you off! That the back stabbing Heather wouldn`t honour her deal!"Her face had an angry red flush.
"You know what? Forget our alliance, from now on every teen for himself!" She announced and walked off, leaving the Spanish teen alone.
"Ay! Yo y mi estúpida boca." He muttered looking at the angry female storming away.

Soon enough Alejandro found a truck were interns were loading animal cages.

"If you want to find a thief, follow his money. If you want to find Chris, follow the evil beasts he loves to throw at challenges." he saw the panda being carried in.
"Tijuana Beach here we come!"

Heather, meanwhile was still angrily stomping away from the wreck, looking at the GPS screen before, she tripped over something and fell on the dusty ground.
"Ugh! What kind of idiot leaves train tracks in the middle of nowhere! She shouted, to vent a bit of the anger and frustration she was feeling, before her mind caught up. Looking towards the train station.
"Trains! Yes!" She cheered, before running to the train station to get a ticket.

"Attention competitors I am currently travelling south at 90km/h. So you may as well give up."
Though that didn't really make him feel any better, he still saw the look of anger and hurt on the raven haired girls face as she left.

Feeling a hand pulling him he saw the Yeti reaching towards him, which made the Spaniard pull back quickly, trip and fall into an onep box which then closed itself.
"On an unrelated note. HEEELPP!"

In the air, Chris was looking at the progress of the three competitors through his own GPS.

"Heather`s ahead, but slow. And the Yeti`s new boyfriend is quickly catching up, but Cody can't seem to get his butt in gear." At this Chris showed confusion, as the yellow dot, was still at the site of the wreck. Unseen to him, Chef glanced at the screen before giving an exhale and continued steering the helicopter.

At the wreck, Cody stood staring at the sky, as if waiting for something. Soon his eyes focused on a dot in the distance, a dot, that seemed to be approaching fast, before it was obvious that dot was a flying vehicle owned by a private party. A one that came due to a phone call. A phone call Cody had made.

15 minutes earlier…..
As soon as Alejandro and Heather had left, Cody continued digging through the wreckage to find what he was looking for, before he finally spotted it. His bag, which was miraculously still whole, except for a few scorch marks here and there. Unzipping it he rummaged through to find what he needed. A satellite phone. He took one just in case when he was told it would be an around the world trip. Dialing up a familiar number he spoke after they picked up.
"I need transport for a person in need of medical help. Come to these coordinates." before hanging up.

Now as the large helicopter landed medical staff got off. Cody told them to follow with him to where Dawn was, his face a stone statue. Once they reached the unconcious girl, the staff immediately set to giving aid. They replaced the bandages and took out a stretcher and placed the girl in before hastily going back to the chopper. Once they had her secured inside, they turned to Cody who nodded and watched as the aircraft took off.
Suddenly music began to sound around him a slide guitar.

"I can't take no more of this.

This nightmare has to end.

In this godforsaken place.

Death would be a welcome friend."

This song may not be connected to what he was doing right now but it had the right feel to it to express the rage he felt right now. He felt helpless, finally showing his expression. Looking down at the ground, not moving just staring before looking up, a hopeless expression.

"I could pay a crooked guard.

To kill me, yeah, that's it.

Better that than sixteen years.

Dyin' slowly bit by bit."
Maybe he should give up, Dawn was hurt and he had Heather and Alejandro to go against.

Should he just stay put until he got told he was eliminated? Was this the end of the line for him? Was all that work and training with Chef for however long just a waste of time?

"All I did was rob a few stores.

Justice here don't fit the crime.

I've been broken by the devil.

Justice is a waste of time."

Anger took over next, figures this would happen since he was finally not losing for once in his life. Hell he was leading in winning, he was the reason Team Amazon won several challenges. And now his luck ended, alone in the middle of nowhere Alberta. How is this fair?!

"I won't get to heaven."
He looked away from the empty land turning towards the little space he built as temporary shelter for Dawn yesterday. Dawn, the only competitor he really clicked with in this godforsaken show, and he knew most of the others from before! His anger lessened, it didn`t disappear it just turned to icy fury that was fueling his determination.

"Why not raise a little hell."
A smirk bloomed on his proportion that promised villany and revenge, and the music got faster.

"He'll see me, but it's the last time

That filthy scum has got to go

By tonight, it will be over

When I strike the fatal blow"

Turning back to the wreck he looked through a completely different part until he found was he was looking for, a repair bag with a welding torch inside along with other repair tools. Pulling and wielding bits of the plane together, he worked like a man possessed, scavenging whatever he could and adding to whatever machinery he was building.

"No way out, I gotta do this

Him or me, okay, let's play

Never killed, but now I have to

Time to make Ed Crowder pay"

He looked around a found two turbine engines that were mostly operational, pulling them to the build site he began to fix them with wires and hot flames of the wielder. Passing by the door of the plane where Chris` face was, he punched the metal, leaving it with a sizable dent right in the middle of the face.

"I won't get to heaven

Why not raise a little hell"

He was finally ready, pulling a lever on what looked like a Mad Max flying contraption, the engine revved, with black smoke pitting out of the pipes. Steadily the mismatched machinery rose in the air and Cody watched with icy eyes, his jacked and bag tossed in the air craft, only a muscle shirt on his torso due to his work with machinery.

"No way I'll see heaven

So let's raise a little hell!"
The final note was belted of as Cody pushed a button that made the turbines turn on, and the machine began to zoom off into the distance, towards Tijuana Beach Mexico.

Heather was waiting in the train cart, hearing that the conductor say it was a non-stop until Mexico made her feel better.
Suddenly she heard a voice she knew really well.
"No sir, my brother is not an animal, he just has a few peculiarities."Before letting the hoodie that held the green tinged boy back and sicking him on the poor ticket-man before booking to the other wagon. Fury overtook Heather as she followed the spanish teen.

Alejandro hadn't noticed the raven haired contestant and was surprised when he moved to the last wagon, which had no chairs or anything, just empty space in it. He looked around to figure out where he was on his GPS when he heard the door click, seeing Heather, with a pissed off expression on her face. His eyes widened as she approached, backing up a bit into the wagon.

Just as she was about to shout a helicopter noise was heard, and a megaphone enhanced a voice they have really started to loathe.
"Well lady and gentleman, since Cody has already used up his song card this one falls to the two of you to sing. Hit it." And a bell rang making the two freeze before Heather brought back her glare.

A Spanish flare guit began, strumming of a few slow chords as the two of the approached each other, almost formally as if they were to dance a tango. Suddenly the two locked arms in tango position and began to dance as the guitar got faster accompanied by a stomping beat.

"There's no way
I'm gonna sit this one out
Gotta take a chance now
Not be a prisoner of doubt"
Heather sang as Alejandro spun her around in accordance to the rhythm, only for her to be low dipped as she sang the last word, before quickly being pulled up.

"Gonna knock them away in a whirl
It ain't no sin"
She belted out as she spun around in a pirouette, one hand held by the Spaniard teen.

"I got the feeling of fortune
Deal me in"
Their dance was a mixture of modern and traditional, from all kinds of dance styles, from ballet, to samba, to tango, to cha cha cha.

"I'm coming straight on for you
I've made up my mind
I'm feeling strong now
Now I'm coming through
Straight on
Straight on for you
Straight on for you!"
She sang as they danced with a glare on her face, making movements that seemed like attacking him but were purely dancing. The weaved around, ducking around and dodging each other. Their graceful movements and passionate energy integrated the two of the fully into the instrumental part only increased those feelings.

"Now I know
How to play my hands
What the winner don't know
The gambler understands
No! You don't stand a chance
(You don't stand a chance)"
It was Alejandro who sang now, as they sang aloud, pulling Heather to him so she could see the frustration on his face. He was influenced by the anger and competitiveness of the song, as they continued their challenge.

"I'm coming straight on for you
(Straight on for you)
I've made up my mind
I'm feeling strong now
Now I'm coming through"
This brought their dance through their empty wagon up to the other were seats were on boths sides but they continued the choreography, not paying attention to anyone else. It was as if the world faded away and it was only the two of them with their competitive dancing.

"Straight on
Straight on for you
Straight on
Straight on for you
(Straight on for you)
Straight on for you!"
When they finished, the two were paused in place in the middle of the wagon. With the rest of the passengers watching them, in their frozen tango position. The asian teen blushed, pushing the Spaniard away, only for them to hear a growl behind them and turn to see Ezekiel in all his 'feral' glory.

"Aw nuts" The two teens choursed before screeching in fear as the green skinned prairie boy lept at them.

In the helicopter a certain blonde woke up, her eyes unfocused for a minute before turning to the medic sitting next to her.

"We need to change course." she casually said, with no regard for her injury.
"But Miss, your state demands….." The man tried to say before being silenced as she looked at him. The moment her eyes met his a certain kind of urgency filled him, making him nod unknowingly and head out to tell the pilot.

Dawn was left lying in the stretcher, her gaze on the sky.
'His aura, was black. Cody, please please don`t give in.'

The two teens didn't have tranq balls to throw at Zeke this time so they settled on pelting anything they could get their hands on, including but not limited to plates of food, books, newspapers and pillow, which all but the last one made the feral boy pause for a tiny bit. Finally after somehow managing to throw a whole train seat in the boys direction, therefore enabling him from attack for a short while Alejandro looked out the window to see a herd of stallions running by their train. Looking back to Heather he shouted.
"We gotta jump!" The queen bee looked at him pointing to the horses.
"Are you crazy?! I don't want to be trampled to death!" She screeched as the Spanish teen jumped landing right on the back of a black stallion.
"Would you rather be mauled by Zeke?" He shouted back at her, holding onto the horses mane as reigns. That made Heather pause before spitting out.

"If I die I blame you!" Was all she yelled, took a few steps back so she could make a running leap, from the wagon to the back of a horse right next to the Spaniard. They looked at each other, as they were neck and neck before kicking the horses to go quicker. They had their eyes not noticing the finish line nearing, and the host shouting the command 'Whoa!' thus making the horses stop and pole vaulting both of the teens over the banner and onto the sand, landing them in quite the compromising position. Heather got up first, still a bit dazed, to see that she was resting atop the teen who made this whole season harder for her.
Still feeling anger from his actions she spit out.
"I hate you." With as much conviction as she could.
"I feel exactly the same." Alejandro, who was more dazed than her, having hit the ground first, said, though it was obvious he thought she had said something else, before her words reached his ears and he tightened the hands on her waist giving her the best glare he could whoe still feeling dizzy. The two were interrupted from their staring match by Chris.

"Uhhh I still have a race to the million going on. Interested?" he asked the duo
"Hawaii`s over there, grab a boat, head to the big island and.." he was interrupted by a turbine noise and the three of them looked up to see that the third competitor had arrived.

Said brunet was zooming through the sky in his dystopian flying machine, his face set in a scowl as he spied the finish line in his field of vision.
With his smoking and burning contraption, his rugged look and the glare that could make any man cower he was quite the scary sight.
The machine was clearly on its last legs, shown by the various flames spouting out of it. He scowled as he felt his altitude dropping before seeing the boats, steering his machine for the docks, he unbuckled and once he was over one of the boat he lept out, leaving the contraption to hit the water as he landed in, immediately starting the boat and zooming off into the horizon.

"And Cody takes the lead!" Chris announced, making the two teens jump and run to their respective boat and try to catch up .

"I really love this show." Chris stated as he watched them speed off.

Heathers` and Alejandro`s attempt to pass Cody were futile, he drove like a man possessed, so they only had the choice to try and bump each other out of course. Alejandro gave Heather`s boat a rough shove, pushing her into a minefield zone. That in turn made her boat jump from the water all the way to the beach, making her as first to arrive to Hawaii. So distracted was he by this that he didn't notice the mine in front of him, and repeating the same part as heather his boat too left the water to fly through the air.
Unlike him though, he crashed into Cody who was meters away from the finish line in his boat and the two landed on the sand simultaneously.
"Oh wow, that's what you call a tie people." Chris commented looking at the two males groaning in the sand.
"I`d go to the slow mo to get a winner, buuut weee`reee kinda out of time." He finished shaking his head.

"WHAT!?" The three contestants shouted in disbelief.
"Yup. We are totally, completely, undeniably out of tiiime, as ooof riiight abouuut….now!" The host finished, looking at his wrist watch, making the teens groan.
"Well producing time, we`ll still have that challenge now and pass it off as a completely different episode." That made the final three frown.
"Let`s get to it!" Chris shouted.

Chris had hi usual recap of what happened the previous episode, then assembled everyone for the final episode.
"Welcome to the live finale of Total Drama World Tour! Moments ago these guys tied for second in a boat sandwich. Tasty." The three competitors could be seen standing by Chris` side, Cody and Alejandro a bit further away from Heather.
"During the break we only let them vent in the confessional. Check it!"

Confession Cam.

Alejandro- "I only let Heather beat me to get a false sense of confidence." the Spaniard stated, but it seemed that not even he could believe his own words.

Heather- "Made it to the final round, check. Now all I have to do is make sure to beat either Cody or Alejandro. Bring it!" The queen bee glared at the camera.

Cody- The teen could been seen looking a bit dazed and distracted. Then his face contorted into an angry glare, shot at the screen. Only one word was said. "Dawn"

The three stood on their beach when they heard a cheer.
"Go team Ale-hunk-dro!" Turning they saw the peanut gallery, Sadie had been the one to cheer.
"He`s even hotter in person." She squealed.

"Why are they in teams and why does my team suck?" Heather asked, looking at the host.
"The peanut gallery is playing a major role in choosing a winner." Chris announced, making the disqualified teens cheer.
"Sweet. I gues we`re all voting on the winner again." Duncan commented, taking Chris` announcement as a confirmation on their involvement like they did in Total drama Island.
"Did I say my team sucks, what I actually mean was they rock." Heather quickly tried to calm them. It didn`t work, in fact Leshawna got up to express just how much.
"You think we`re fools? You and Alejandro are done!" The ghetto queen announced
"We are here for you Cody!" Trent cheered.

Confession Cam.

Heather- Believe it or not I actually want Alejandro to win the tiebreaker, I can actually beat him in a vote.

"But first we gotta break a tie! Heather you won the race so your reward is disadvantage. You can select the tiebreaker yourself or you can let Cody and Alejandro do it." The host explained pointing to the two male teens as he did so.
"As if I would leave it to them. I`ll do it. Thank you." Heather declared.
"I was hoping you`d say that." Chris spoke with a dark chuckle making the queen bees eyes widen.

"Tadah!" they were standing in front of a glass boothe with a giant ball over it.
"Each ball has a different tiebreaker written on it, so take your pick." Chris commented, motioning for Heather to go inside.
"Well isn't this fun." She bragged, looking at the two boys standing aside, walking inside the booth and just as the host closed the doors she began to be pelted with balls.
"Ow! Are these golf balls?! "She asked between shouts of pain as each spherical shaped object was quite hard and painful. Still it earned a round of laughter from the peanut gallery.

"I swear, Jeff and I put ping-pong balls"Bridgette defended herself and her boyfriend.
"I know, and I`m not mad, just disappointed."Chris commented. "I had to dial it up to meet my usual standards."

Meanwhile whilst she was still pelted with golf balls Heather was at loss on how she could pick a challenge.
"OW! How am I supposed to..ow,ow…" one golf ball shot through the booth glass, and hit poor Tyler in the head. The queen bee left the booth, clutching at her throat, obviously choking.
"No ball no exit. Back you go." Chris commented, ignoring her frantic hand pointing to her throat. Finally the teen girl managed to cough the ball out onto the sand….with a lot of saliva.
"Ugh...Jeff go ahead and read that, would you pal?" Chris said, making the cowboy hat blond man reach for the golf ball that had a piece of paper glued on it.
"Ew, Heather has selected the traditional Hawaiian Fire Dance ...of Death!" The party boy declared making the two males look at eachother.

Soon the two boys found themselves on a platform, dressed in grass skirts and bare chests. The make up team even went further and drew tribal Hawaiian tattoos on their shoulders. Every female watching had to visibly gulp in the sight before them. Now they had seen Alejandro plenty, but Cody being shirtless was pretty rare this season. And they drank up the rare sight.

The two males had staffs with cushions on each end and standing away, was Heather, tied from chin to feet.
"Ant they tried to be traditional." Alejandro commented looking at his clothes. "I half expected Chris to make up wear coconut bras" The Spaniard said, a frown on his face at the thought of wearing such an article on his body.
"Forget that." Heather snapped, wiggling in her bindings."Someone get me offa this thing!" Earning another round of applause from the peanut gallery.
"She`s funny when she`s tied up and can't hurt me." Owen commented as he pointed at the teen.
"I just won the semi-final. Where is the respect?" The queen bee demanded.
"We`ll be sure to look for that later." CHris teased. "The first dude to free Heather wins the last spot in the final two. And a shot at the million!" He finished explaining.
"Chef if you please?" He asked the tall burly man who notched two flaming arrows that hit the two torches on each side of the platform. Twin burst of flames ignited.
"Oh and stay out of the water, staritiiiingggg…"Chris spoke as Chef notched two more arrows, this time the had a raw steak on each of them. They hit the water instead and the trio on the platform quickly saw shark fins swim around the treat.
"Now!" A shark`s head emerged from the water, effectively spooking Alejandro

"Hahahahaha…..man is it nice to be out of this game." Duncan laughed.
The peanut gallery began to cheer as Alejandro got in position to attack, pushing his staff against Cody`s in order to push the other teen off.
Prepare to be defeated mi amigo." Alejandro commented, not expecting the shove on Cody`s side.
Having earned himself a second to strategize, Cody glanced at the fire behind him, and a thought came to him. Locking eyes with Alejandro, he let the ends of his staff catch fire, before starting to twirl it around, just like Beth had tried to in the talent show of the first season. Shouts of awe and 'coool' were heard, as the brunette charged. Alejandro suddenly found his defence much harder as he had to watch out or he would get burned from two different sources. Finally the attack seemed too much for the Spaniard and he slipped up losing his staff after a particularly vicious swing from the tech geek.

Looking at the flaming staf pointed at him, he rose his hands in surrender.
"I give I give!" As much as he wanted the money, getting burned wasn't worth it.
"And the winner is Cody!" Chris announced as the teen had already untied the queen bee from her post. The female gave Cody a look, before nodding.

Confession Cam.
Heather-
I have never seen Cody be so ruthless before. Is this because Dawn`s not here?"

As the final two players stood with Chris he spoke.
"Now that we have our final two it`s my pleasure to announce the peanut gallery will not be voting for the winner." That made Heather sigh in relief, obviously due to their dislike of her.
"What? But you said we were gonna play a major role. Major!" Courtney countered.
"Yup, just not in a votey kind of way." Chris confirmed.
"Prepare to have your minds blown by the most lethal challenge in total drama history!" The host announced.
"Heather versus Cody versus The Volcanoo! Back in the day human sacrifices were tossed in Kilauea Volcano to appease the gods. Sadly, the lawyers wont let me use real people as sacrifices, so Heather and Cody will have to make sacrifice standins using the islands most abundant resources. Pineapples and driftwood. And to make it symbolic, you guys get to make dummies of each other to toss into the volcano. Now you each get to pick two helpers."
"I choose DJ and Trent." Cody spoke, making the two males get up to join the brunette. Trent was a fellow drama brother, and Dj was a giant with a heart of gold. Both gave him a smile as the walked to stand on either side of him.
"Any enthusiasm for me?" Heather sheepishly asked, looking at the frowning peanut gallery.

For a moment silence so thick reigned, but finally Leshawna stood up "Heather I hate you, but considering how this season went I hate that tanned ass even more, me and Harold are helping you." The skinny geek nodded in agreement.
"What my bootylicious queen said is right." The two joined the queen bee.
"Okay! We have our helpers. Now, Heather and Cody you have to stay on your mats." the host showed two round mats, one red and one blue.

"And direct your helpers to bring you logs driftwood and pineapples that resemble parts of your opponent. And to make things a little more rhymey~" Chris sang the last word with jazz hands as a bell tolled.

"And to make it more interesting, each will have their own song. Heather, being the winner of the race will be first and Cody`s will be next. Show time!"

Heather standing on the mat as a military drumm began.

"Let's get down to business to defeat the Huns!"
She began, as Harold and Leshawna stood at attention.

"Did they send me daughters when I asked for sons?"
She looked up at the before pointing to the other team who had already begun to work.

"You're the saddest bunch I ever met,
but you can bet before we're through
mister, I'll make a man out of you!"

She pulled Harold face to face and snarled the last line at him. Letting him go, the nerd and Leshawna raced to the pile of driftwood.

"Tranquil as a forest but a fire within,
once you find your center you are sure to win."
She commented off and they had found the needed parts before Harold tripped whilst holding a log.

"You're a spineless pale pathetic lot and you haven't got a clue.
Somehow I'll make a man out of you"
A faceslapp is what that earned her before she glared at him.

"I'm never gonna catch my breath. Say goodbye to those who knew me."
Harold wheezed as he worked on the dummy.

"Boy was I a fool in school for cutting gym. This girl got us scared to death."
Leshawna muttered as she plopped a log on the sand.

"Hope she doesn't see right through me,how I really wish that I knew how to swim."
Alejandro sang softly from the side, thinking back to the moment he lost and almost got eaten by sharks.

"Be a man
we must be swift as a coursing river.
Be a man
with all the force of a great typhoon.
Be a man
with all the strength as a raging fire.
Mysterious as the dark side of the moon."
Unfortunately for Team Heather, Cody`s team was already adding the finishing touch, the pineapple.

"And Cody takes the lead!" Chris announced.
"Next step, haul your sacrifice to the top of Kilauea and toss he into the volcano."
As the two teens prepared to start Heather began to complain.
"You can't seriously expect us to throw these dummies into an active volcano without some safety equipment!"
"As the saying goes, no excruciating pain, no million dollar gain~" Chris chimed as he held out the suitcase with said million in it.
"To help you get your dummies to the top of your volcano you can use the rewards your teams earned. Cody won a stroller, Alejandro wona wheelbarrow, too bad he`s out and Heather won diddly squat." That evoked a frustrated groan from the queen bee, making her drop the dummy on her foot and grunt in pain.
"Cody for winning the effigy challenge, you get a twenty second head start! So, Get goin'!" Chris announced.

Doing as he was told Cody sling the dummy over his shoulder, passing the stroller and wheelbarrow.
"Pass." He spoke and continued to run with his 'sacrifice' over his shoulder.

"And Cody's feeling really confident in his chance to win as he goes without the stroller!" Chris spoke, absolutely giddy.
"And now guess who's turn it is for a musical number~"

As the bell chimed, dramatic music began, alerting Cody of his task. With a thunderous look on his face, he sneered at the camera.
"Any moment now your Highness."

"Believe me, I know

I've sunk pretty low

But whatever I've done you deserved"
He began to sing as he carried the dummy further along, completely blocking out the others. But due to the volcano heat and his own anger, a mirage of a petite blonde appeared as she tried to speak."Cody…"

"Quiet!" The teen snapped, not paying the illusion any heed as he passed it, continuing to sing.

"I'm the bad guy, that's fine
It's no fault of mine
And some justice at last will be served"
He continued on, his voice echoing in a melodic way, as he carried on. Another phantasmagoria appeared, her lovely face and voice pleading him."Please, listen!"
This time she was not deigned a response as he simply passed her.
"Now it's time to step up
Or it's time to back down
And there's only one answer for me
And I'll stand up and fight
'Cause I know that I'm right
And I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready
Ready as I'll ever be"
Cody finally reached what seemed to be a pit of lava, not stopping for an explanation he continued on, jumping from stepstone to stepstone, like he was playing hopscotch. By now somehow, Heather had reached the pool of lava too and chimed into the song as well

"Now it's time to rise up
Or it's time to stand down
And the answer is easy to see
And I swear by the sword
If you're in, get on board
Are you ready?"
She sang as she looked at the four teens, one on each team armed with a machete as they began to chop away at the ropes that held the suspended items above the lava pool.

Harold:
I'm ready

Trent & DJ:
We're ready

Crowd:
We're ready

Heather:
Ready as I'll ever be.

Harold looked at Leshawna who was holding a machete as she sang.
"Are you quite sure we can do this?"

The bootylicious queen smiled hugging him to the rope she just cut, was a cage over Heather, that gave Cody enough time to pass the pit and continue on.
"Together we will, guarantee…"

Finally several of them chimed as the two teens raced on.

Cody:
"I'll make them hear me"

As the peanut gallery all combined to sing together.
Crowd: "Now it's time to redeem
Or it's time to resolve"

Heather:
"Prove they can trust me"

Crowd:
"And the outcome will hardly come free
Now the line's in the sand
And our moment's at hand"

As they finally chimed in for the final lines.
Cody:

"And I'm ready"

Heather:
"I'm ready"

Harold and Leshawna:
"I'm ready"

Finally Cody reached the top of the volcano, with sweat dripping from his body, he despite how exhausted he was, purred out the final line.
"Ready as I'll ever be...

"Looking for this?" Chris teased the teen, showing him the shiny briefcase.
Coldly looking at the luggage, the brunette looked at the female dummy he held in his arms before his eyes darkened and he simply pushed the lifesize wooden doll in the fiery pit.

"And the winner of the million is Cody!" Chris announced, making the peanut gallery cheer, as the brunette was handed the suitcase filled with money.
"Noooooooooo!" A shriek was heard, and they turned to see a sweating panting Heather, on her knees. It was obvious she was in anguish from her loss. Alejandro, headed over to console and make sure the queen bee who looked on the verge of fainting didn't pass out.

Cody looked at the money in his hands, looking not at all excited. He won, all that training, all that work, all that time, had payed off. Right? Then why wasn't he excited?
Because, he didn't want to leave. He wanted one thing and he had almost lost her.
"...Cody!"
Funny he could almost hear her.

"Cody!" No….wait… was that the sound of a chopper?

Turning around he witnessed the same chopper he had called for medical aid appear, and from the door a familiar blonde girl appeared, with some bandages and her long hair had been cropped at chin length. Her face turned up in an angelic smile, as she hopped down on the ground. Running to him she gave him a tight hug.

"Congratulations! You won!" But her words were unregistered, all he noticed was that she was there and she was fine.

Looking at her smiling face and then to the briefcase in his hand, he turned around and tossed it to the villain couple. Seeing their faces of shock made him smirk.
"Wha…" they couldn't finish due to surprise.
"Here, you take that." He told them before turning around, and gently cupping Dawn`s face who also had an expression of surprise. Slowly, gingerly he connected his lips to hers in a sweet and chaste kiss.
"But what about winning?" She asked.
"You mean more to me than a measly million dollars." He finished off, heading in for another kiss. But before they could they were interrupted by two elderly men asking if they threw pineapples in the volcano. Of course then the various warning signs were shown and the peanut gallery watched in fear as the volcano gave a rumble. Everyone ranf for their lives except one couple. They knew the host had staged that.
"His aura told him off…." Dawn muttered as she watched the others scatter
"And how do pineapples make volcanoes erupt exactly?" Cody asked with a raised brow.
Not a moment later they shared a chuckle together and, looking down at the girl in his arms, Cody grinned. This, this was way better than winning.

As the volcano stopped rumbling, Cody in the heat of the moment (pun intended) dipped his girl, before giving her a world shattering kiss. The glow from the lava and the happiness on their faces made them have a lovely almost otherworldly glow around them.
"This is what I call a win." He muttered in Dawn ear, before pulling them upright and helping his girlfriend down to the beach, their hands intertwined.
