Chapter 15

Learning from the Past

"Let me guess this straight," Audrey started as she adjusted herself on her cot. "You guys basically threw Galloway out of a plane and he still might be in the desert?"

"Yes," June answered almost proudly.

Audrey smirked. "I have officially become a bad influence and I am so proud."

As soon as everything was 'cleared up.' They went on a large aircraft carrier. Sam, Optimus, and Audrey were admittedly put under intensive care. Audrey figured her parents were still with Sam as well as Ratchet and Lennox had forced them to stay away from her as they had to run tests on Audrey and on what she thought was the Matrix, which was now a 5-year-old boy. June just happened to sneak her way in.

"So," June started. "You still hear voices…. see things?"

Audrey shook head. "I mean I still remember and remembering other things too. There are people who didn't even know they had the Allspark, but I can't hear them or see visions." June kind just hummed in response. Audrey couldn't blame her that's all she could think of.

Then they heard the doors open. The two girls looked to Ratchet and Jolt coming in. Ratchet frowned as Jolt went to a computer far back. "June, what are you doing in here?"

June shrugged. "I came to visit. You know to say hello make sure she doesn't leave again."

Ratchet scoffed as then looked at Audrey. "And aren't you suppose to be resting?"

Audrey gave a nervous chuckle. "Technically, I took a dirt nap and that is technically rest." Ratchet glared and Audrey sighed. Honestly, Audrey was exhausted and if anything if she could sleep she would do it but there was still something on her mind.

"I can't," she stated. "Not till I know what he is," she pointed to the back.

In the back of the room, Jolt was on the computer with the little boy sitting patiently and remaining still, again his face looked calm. June honestly just stared at the boy. As Ratchet hummed in response, he faced the computer. "First, we tested you and Optimus. It seems the bond with the Allspark seems to be broken. Granted, I never knew about the situation. So I didn't know what to look for."

Audrey kinda looked down. Everyone did seem a little bit… upset at both her Optimus about not telling them. She remembered Mikaela and Sam giving her an earful. Granted, she didn't blame them.

"However, the energy and radiation in the body have increased 5 times," he continued. "It still it's only half of the Allspark's power."

"Okay," Audrey said causing June to turn back to her. "I have more power but what does it have to do with him?"

"He has 10 times," Jolt interrupted causing Audrey and June to turn to Jolt. "In fact, he is stronger than the Allspark. But that's not what interesting."

Audrey frowned. "Jolt, I'm done with surprises."

June glared at Audrey. "You're done?"

Audrey ignored her. "What's interesting?

"It is 100 % human" Jolt continued. "And he has your DNA."

Audrey felt her eyes widen. "My DNA?!"

June just looked shocked. "ummmm," was all she could even do in response.

"That is physically impossible!" Audrey yelled. "That's not how humans are made! And I know you guys know how humans are made!"

"We are well aware of that," Ratchet said. "We have two theories." Audrey folded her arms. "There is mine. I believe that created a guardian."

Audrey shook her head. "No way. I'm the Allspark guardian and the Matrix Guardian. I merged with it. I remember."

"Yes," Rachet said. "But the Allspark is gone, what energy that was left is in you. It since you are the Allspark. The human body, even yours can only take so much. In response, it took your DNA and in some way constructed a human body." Audrey sighed as she looked at the boy, who still looked content. "And then there is Jolt's theory."

"Well," Jolt started. "My theory is in a sense created a new outer shell. Being turned to dust and reformed again are caused the cracks you saw. Using your DNA it created a different shell, human one."

Audrey still shocked didn't say a word. June hummed in thought. "So basically, the matrix made in self in a guardian or changed for," June summed up.

"Basic sense, yes," Ratchet responded as he went back the computer.

Audrey folded her arms like a little child. "It doesn't matter which one is right. This created or it created a human child I am now responsible for!"

"Congratulations?" June said shyly. Audrey gritted her teeth and turned her best friend with glowing eyes. June held up her hands. "Okay. Okay, wrong thing to say." Audrey's eyes stopped glowing but still looked pissed. "Okay human wise, you have… a surprise. But Allspark wise, you have someone you need to protect."

Audrey stopped gritting her teeth and looked back to the boy. This time the boy was looking dead at her. June wasn't wrong. Human wise they can make a lot of excuses that she is no hers… so to speak. But there is only one Allspark and Matrix. And now the Matrix was a small human boy, that most likely didn't know anything about its human abilities.

Audrey groaned. "I hate it when your, right." June just smirked. "And you didn't use a musical reference."

"No I have nothing to reference this if there it is it's not worth," June stated deadpanned.

Audrey looked up at the ceiling and groaned. "Optimus makes it soon easy."

Ratchet then turned back Audrey. "Optimus wasn't a leader at first," Audrey then looked at him. "He is and was mistaken at times," he then glared at her. "As you, both have experienced and done."

Audrey frowned. "I said sorry multiple times," she whined a little.

Ratchet seemed to ignore her. "Then the war started, continued and when we lost our leader. Optimus took charge and he was very much hesitant, but more he continued the more he determined he became."

Audrey just hummed in response. She then looked to the side. Audrey gave a small gasp. June looked to see the boy walking towards him. Jolt seemed too preoccupied with work to even look. Audrey then adjusted herself as her leg was hung off of the cot. He then stopped and looked at her. Audrey slightly looked to June, who quickly shook her head. Audrey looked back to him. She could Ratchet chuckle. He was just enjoying this. Audrey then took a deep breath. "I am going to be completely honest: I have no idea what I am doing."

The boy tilted his head confused. June sighed. "I don't think you start with that."

Audrey ignored her. "I have never physically been a mentor, mother or caretaker. My past lives maybe but not me. I'm not even used to past lives in my head." She slowly grabbed the little boy's hand causing him to flinch a little. "Being human is completely new to you. I can promise… I will be whatever you need me to be. I will make a lot of mistakes but I will be whatever you need me be for you." She squeezed his hand tighter. "No matter what we are I'm with you."

The boy looked down at the hand puzzled. He then looked up to Audrey. He pulled his hand away from hers. He walked over and pulled himself on the cot. Before Audrey could even question anything, he laid with his head on her lap and closed his eyes. Audrey felt herself stiffen.

"I'll be going then," June said as started to walk away. "I'll let you rest."

Audrey quickly turned her head and shook her head trying not to disturb the boy. "Don't leave me like this. I don't know what do."

"Yes, you do," June said as she walked out the door.

Audrey frowned. She looked up to Ratchet, who was at his computer. "Ratchet," she whined a little.

"I suggest you both rest," Ratchet said not even looking.

Audrey had a strange feeling, Ratchet knew what was going on. She then looked down at him as she adjusted herself. She then felt the boy cling to her. Audrey had no idea if he even knew what he was doing. She then moved pulled him closer. Honestly, it was almost out of instinct that she did it. Even when she fell asleep, she wasn't used to it… yet at least.

Audrey finally was able to leave the room and wandered the ship. She soon found Sam standing in the front looking out. "Sooo," Audrey said as Sam turned to her. "Is this my brother thinking? Cause that's rare."

Sam smirked. "Hey, I 'm pretty smart. I mean I am alive and I went to college."

Audrey smirked back. "Didn't we both technically die and didn't you went to college for two days?"

"Okay," Sam with a smirk. "Then your as smart as me."

Audrey looked at with fake anger. "I will not be insulted like that." He chuckled and so did Audrey.

"Sooo," Sam started. "June said you wanted to tell me something."

Audrey groaned. "I'm going to kill her." She then sighed. "Yes, I do, but," she then looked back out seeing the sunset. "I'd like a few minutes. Just know," she then chuckled nervously. "We might be more connected with them than we thought."

Sam looked out at the ocean again much to Audrey's surprise, "I'll okay with that," he said.

Audrey didn't say a word as she just genuinely smiled. Soon the two both heard large footsteps. The two turned and looked up to see it was Optimus. "Thank you, Sam and Audrey for saving my life," he said with gratitude.

"Your welcome," Sam responded. "Thank you for believing in me," he added.

"Anytime," Audrey added. Three then found themselves looking out in silence in the distance.

Our races united by a history long forgotten and a future we shall face together. I am Optimus Prime, and I send this message so that our pasts will always be remembered, for, in those memories, we live on.

…. I thought being strong was the hardest part, but I was wrong. I have learned the hard way that. The past doesn't define you, what you gained doesn't define you. Learning from the past is what helps define you and in the end, the only you can do and it will keep changing. Like being strong learning from the past is never-ending. So in the end, I'm Audrey Witwicky. I am the Allspark and now the Matrix Guardian, the Matrix with the human name Victor. I like my past lives… I'm ready to start my mark… and become a leader.

A/N: FINALLY! I AM DONE! Thank you to those who favorited, followed, and reviewed! I appreciate it! Now, I am 70% sure I want to do three but... it is not my favorite. But also check out other stories. Till then Bye-nee!
