I hope everyone had a very Happy Easter!

"Oh my gosh, I wish you guys could've been there. It was so beautiful and romantic. Fitz was nothing short of the perfect gentleman. He tended to my every need and made sure that the twins and I were comfortable." Olivia gushed about her date with Fitz, the evening before.

It was the morning after and she was currently having breakfast with her friends. The look she had on her face as she recapped the previous evening's events, was a dreamy one. Her eyes were bright and voiced filled with genuine happiness as she recounted her date, leaving out no details. Quinn and Mellie gave her their undivided attention, staring at her in awe and envy.

Abby, on the other hand, was only half listening. She wanted to be happy for her best friend, she really did, but she couldn't. She still wasn't over what Fitz did to Olivia. Olivia and everyone else may have forgiven him and moved on, but she didn't. Fitz may have been able to schmooze his way back into everyone else's good graces, but Abby would be damned if she too fell victim to his good looks, captivating eyes, charm, charisma, and way with words.

"I wish I had pictures to show you guys. I was just so caught up in the moment, I wasn't really thinking of anything else except for being there." Olivia flashed her friends an apologetic and sheepish smile.

"That's okay. You were on a romantic date with your hubby. You're supposed to only focus on enjoying yourself and you did just that so that's all that matters." Quinn said, always being the reasonable one of the female bunch.

"Ugh! I'm so jealous of you right now. I wish Andrew would do something special like that for me." Mellie admitted, throwing Olivia a playful glare.

Abby rolled her eyes. "Don't be. The only reason he took Olivia out on a date was to make up for the way he treated her after the accident and in Aspen. If it weren't for her leaving his ass, she would still be miserable as ever." Even though she snapped at Mellie, her words were directed towards Olivia.

Olivia had had enough. She was getting real tired of her best friend bad mouthing her husband.

"Abby, I'm going to need you to stop disrespecting my husband please. I know that he hurt me but he apologized and is trying to make up for what he did. I love him and want to be with him. He is the father of my children. Whether you like it or not, Fitz is going to be in my life and nowhere else. I would prefer to say the same about you but if you keep insulting my husband then I won't have a choice but to cut you off." Olivia told her straight up.

"You would really choose the man that shattered your heart over me?" Abby asked and when Olivia didn't say anything, instead letting her gaze drop to her half eaten plate, she got her answer. "So much for best friends."

Abby got up from the table, dropping a few bills on it, before storming out of the restaurant. The remaining three women sat in an awkward silence. Quinn and Mellie were afraid to look at Olivia, who was fighting hard to stop tears from pooling in her eyes, which was not an easy thing to do with pregnancy hormones. Losing her best friend, who was more like a sister, was not something she would get over easily. Eventually Olivia cleared her throat to break the silence.

"I should get going. Fitz will be by my mom's house to pick me up soon."

"That's right, you're going with him to visit his mom right?"

Olivia nodded, "Yeah."

She stood up and gave both of her friends, that whispered words of encouragement in her ear, a hug goodbye. She then headed back to her mom's house, where she took a nap as she waited for Fitz. She was awakened two hours later by the sound of the doorbell. With a yawn and a stretch, she walked over to the door to find Fitz standing on the other side. He wore a light blue polo that brought out his eyes, khaki cargo shorts, and a pair of Polo Ralph Lauren Vaughn canvas white shoes. Olivia appreciated what he had on. Her man always knew how to dress to impress and she was proud to call him hers, even if he did many issues. They weren't his best qualities, but they were a part of him, which meant she had to accept them because all of her loved all of him unconditionally.

Fitz greeted Olivia with a smile and a chaste kiss to her lips before escorting her to his car. As soon as he was behind the wheel, his hand sought out hers.

"Thanks Livvie for coming with me today. I wouldn't be able to do this without you being by my side so thank you." He kissed the back of her hand that was engulfed in his.

"You're welcome. This is something that needs to be done and you know there's no place I'd rather be than where you are." It was Olivia's turn to kiss the back of his hand.

Fitz briefly took his eyes off of the road to look at her. The look on his face was one that Olivia wanted to see for the rest of her life. He had the biggest, brightest smile that may have looked goofy to an outside person, but to Olivia, he looked adorable. He looked like the man she fell in love with.

A little over an hour later, Fitz pulled into the driveway of his mother's home. His nerves finally started to kick in as he cut the engine. Olivia moved to get out of the car, but Fitz put his hand on her arm to stop her.

"One minute?" He asked softly.

Olivia could see that he needed that one minute with her. He needed to relax and find the courage to finally talk to his mother about the topic he had put off by distancing himself.

"One minute." She agreed.

For one minute, they sat in complete silence, no words needed to be said. All Fitz needed was to just be with her, really be with her. He wasn't a traumatized son that resented his mother and she wasn't anyone, but his supportive and loving wife. They were just Olivia and Fitz, a married couple that was finding their way back to each other.

After their minute was up, Fitz and Olivia made their way, hand and hand, up to the front porch of his mother's home. With a deep breath, Fitz rang the doorbell. Olivia gave his hand an encouraging squeeze as the front door opened. They were both surprised to see, Luke, their ten year old nephew standing on the other side of the door. A second later, his little sister Grace, appeared beside him. Both children lit up like Christmas trees at the sight of their aunt and uncle standing before them.

"Aunt Liv! Uncle Fitz!" They yelled excitedly.

They launched themselves at their aunt oblivious to her very evident baby bump.

"Woah, woah guys easy." Fitz told them as they wrapped their arms around Olivia's waist.

Olivia giggled at their greeting. "Hey guys. I missed you."

"We missed you too Aunt Liv." Grace said, looking up at her.

"Hey, what about me?" Fitz asked his niece taking faux offense.

The children laughed and moved to hug their uncle. Fitz bent down and managed to lift both kids in his arms. They wrapped their arms around his neck, embracing him in a hug. Fitz honestly missed his niece and nephew. They frequently stayed with him and Olivia before Jerry's death. Since Jerry's death though, he hadn't seen much of his family especially his sister and brother-in-law, whom he and Olivia spent a lot of time with in the past.

"Lucas and Grace Hayes, what is with all the yelling?" Karen asked her kids, rounding the corner to find them in the arms of her younger brother, while her pregnant sister-in-law stood beside them. She immediately got as excited as her son and daughter at the sight of Olivia and Fitz. Fitz put his nephew and niece down and allowed his big sister to hug him before she moved to hug his wife.

"Oh my goodness Liv! Look at you, you look radiant!" Karen complimented her when she pulled back from the hug. Her hands instantly went to her sister-in-law's protruding belly. "How far along are you?"

Olivia couldn't contain the wide smile that spread across her face as she answered, "Five months."

"Geez, my nephew or niece must be huge if you're already looking like this at only five months." Karen quipped, relieved that Olivia didn't take offense to her comment and joined her in laughter.

Fitz looked to Olivia for permission, which she granted with a head nod. "Actually it's both." He informed her, while throwing his arm over Olivia's shoulders and kissing her temple.

"TWINS?!" Karen squealed excitedly, causing her children to groan and cover their ears. "Congratulations!" Olivia and Fitz just laughed and allowed Karen to once again pull them into a tight hug.

Elizabeth and Karen's husband, Gavin, decided to see what was going on that caused the kids and Karen to make so much noise. They finally understood what all the raucous was about when they saw Fitz and surprisingly a pregnant Olivia standing in the foyer. Gavin walked up to Fitz and the two men shook hands before embracing. Gavin then squeezed in front of his wife to greet Olivia. He too congratulated the expecting couple and complimented Olivia, telling her that she was glowing.

Elizabeth chose to stay back and watch her children and grandchildren interact. She so badly wanted to be a part of the interaction, but she didn't know how Fitz would feel about that, so she hung back. Olivia was having none of that though. She walked right up to her mother-in-law and embraced the older woman, giving her a loving squeeze, which she gladly welcomed. When they broke apart, Olivia turned to Fitz expectantly. He knew what the look on her face meant and slowly made his way over to where she and his mother stood.

"Hi Fitz." Elizabeth cautiously drew him in for a hug.

Fitz reluctantly allowed his mom to hug him. He was tense at first with his arms dropped at his sides, but relaxed a little when he felt Olivia's small hand come in contact with his back, rubbing small circles into it.

"Hi mom." He said in a voice void of any emotion.

Elizabeth released him from her embrace with a gentle squeeze. She didn't want to let him go, but she knew she had already been hugging him longer that what he was comfortable with. She attempted to bring her hand up to his cheek, but he moved his head away.

"Can we talk?" Fitz asked instead with a blank expression on his face.

"Of course." Elizabeth agreed.

Fitz took ahold of Olivia's hand and they followed his mom into the living room. Karen and Gavin decided to take the kids to the park to give the others some privacy. Olivia and Fitz sat on the sofa across from the one Elizabeth sat on with her hands folded on her lap. She wasn't sure if she was supposed to start the conversation, but after sitting nearly a minute of silence, she decided to take the initiative.

"So you two seem to be doing better since Jerry's de-"

"We didn't come here to talk about that." Fitz cut her off in an edgy tone. He did not want to get into a conversation about the death of his first born, especially with her.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have brought that up. Please forgive me." She mentally scolded herself for bringing up such a sensitive topic as a conversation starter.

Before Fitz could respond in a rude way that would surely cause his temper to arise, Olivia placed a soothing hand on his thigh and said, "It's okay. We are just starting to heal from that but it's still too touchy to talk about."

Elizabeth nodded, "I completely understand and again I'm so sorry for bringing it up."

Fitz shook his head with irritation. He didn't want to act in such a way, but he couldn't help it. Whenever she was in presence he automatically became hostile.

"Look Olivia already said it was fine. Now can we please drop it?" Fitz snapped.

"Fitz!" Olivia scolded him incredulously. She didn't care how much resentment he had towards his mother, she was still the woman that brought him into the world and he was going to respect her whether he liked it or not. Also, she refused to sit by his side if he continued to disrespect his mother.

"Elizabeth I am so sorry for his rude behavior." Olivia was now the one to apologize to her mother-in-law, while giving Fitz a side eye glare.

Elizabeth held up her hand, "It's fine. I deserve it."

"No you don't. I don't care how mad he is he will speak to you in a respectful manner." Olivia said more so to Fitz than Elizabeth. "Won't you?" She now asked him directly, squeezing his thigh.

Fitz shifted, but didn't respond. Instead he ignored his wife and focused the conversation back on his mother, "Why do people cheat mom?"

Elizabeth's eyes grew wide. His question caught her off guard. "Uh well people cheat for several different reasons, so I can't exactly tell why they do it."

"Okay so tell me why you cheated on my father then."

"Fitz." Elizabeth sighed. She wasn't prepared to discuss such a dark period of her life out loud with anyone including her middle child. Fitz was a clear indication that not all of her wounds had been healed. In fact, they really stayed open because Fitz always made sure to pour salt into them during the few times they communicated throughout the years. She really couldn't be mad at him though. She felt like she deserved it. She hurt him and he was acting out because he didn't know how else to deal with the pain. The betrayal. She damaged her son and now he was giving her a chance to fix him. To fix the strained relationship they had.

Fitz leaned forward as he spoke. Olivia had an encouraging hand on his back. "I need to know why you did it. Why you cheated on my father because to this day I can't seem to figure out how you could cheat on a man you claimed to love and be in love with. How could you cheat on the most unselfish, loving, caring, honest, dedicated, tender, genuine man that probably ever walked the face of this planet? My father is the most admirable man that I know so how could you break the vows you made to him?" At this point, Fitz' eyes were red around the rims from his unshed tears.

"It was a mistake. I wish I could go back and change what I did but I can't. I'm so sorry for what I did." Although her apology was sincere, Fitz couldn't accept it, especially when she didn't answer his question.

"A mistake is it happening one time. You had a damn affair that resulted in a love child that you tried to pass as my father's. That wasn't a mistake. That was betrayal. You broke dad's heart and broke up our family because you were unfaithful and couldn't stay true to your damn wedding vows. I asked why you did it?"

Elizabeth didn't answer him right away. She had to take a moment to collect her thoughts and keep her feelings in check. Looking down at her folded hands, she finally responded, "We were having problems in our marriage. Problems that we hid well from you and your sister. We just weren't in a good place at that time. In a moment of weakness and vulnerability I allowed my boss to comfort me. It was only supposed to happen once, but he made feel so good and desirable. It was refreshing and I was afraid of losing that feeling because I wasn't feeling it with your father and hadn't for a while before that. No marriage is perfect and you know that firsthand."

Fitz shook his head, still not understanding where she was coming from. Yes, he definitely understood that no marriage was perfect or easy, but he still didn't get the cheating aspect of it.

"I know that no marriage is perfect but I would never cheat on my wife. I couldn't even if I wanted to. Olivia and I have been separated for months. We even went several months without seeing each other. During that time, I could have slept with another woman especially the ones that showed their interest in me but I didn't. Maybe I would have if it weren't for what you did. Maybe if you hadn't cheated on my father and destroyed our family, maybe then I would have been able to step out on wife. However, since this our fate, I despise cheating and the people that do it."

"Fitz I-" Elizabeth tried to say, when he paused, however Fitz wasn't done.

"You know you are what makes the stereotype true. The secretary that fucked her boss." Fitz spat with disgust etched on his face.

"Fitzgerald!" Olivia gasped and swatted his back. Fitz again ignored her as he kept speaking.

"Do you have any idea what your infidelity did to me? How it damaged me? I have trust issues because of what you did. I have many insecurities because of what you did. I am hardly able to be in a stable relationship because of what you did. I have a hard time letting go of things and forgiving. All I know is how to inflict pain on others and project my anger out on them when they hurt me. Olivia can attest to this because it has heavily affected my marriage in the worse way. I am here today because I need to forgive you. I want to forgive you because it's the only way I can move on. It's the only my marriage and my relationship with you can improve. I love my wife and I love my children. They mean everything to me. Olivia wants you to be a part of Aiden and Aubrey's lives. The only way that can be done is if I let all of my resentment, anger, and contempt for you go."

Elizabeth averted her eyes to her fidgeting hands still folded in her lap. Fitz got up with the help of Olivia's hand lightly pushing his back to give him a little boost. He walked over to where his mom was sitting and squatted down before. He gently cupped her chin with his left hand and tilted it slightly up, so her eyes connected with his.

"Mom, I'm letting go. I forgive you."

Elizabeth can't control the sob that abruptly escaped her mouth as she threw her arms around his neck. She waited a very long time to hear Fitz utter those words. That was enough to break the stone wall Fitz had built up. He returned her hug and held on to her tightly like he never had before. He would be lying if he said he didn't miss his mom and her sweet hugs. All those pent up negative feelings that were running through his body were slowly starting to fade with each second he spent in his mom's embrace.

Both had tears streaming down their faces as they held on to each other. Fitz buried his face in his mom's chest as he sobbed like a little kid. Elizabeth cried with him kissing the top of his head and telling him how much she loved and missed him. Olivia quietly watched mother and son reunite as her own tears rolled down her cheeks. She used the pads of her fingers to them away.

After a while Fitz and Elizabeth finally calmed down just as the others were returning from their little family outing. They were obviously unaware of what exactly what went down while they were gone, but they were definitely surprised to see Fitz and Elizabeth actually getting along. He even helped her and his sister cook dinner, while Olivia watched from her place on the stool at the kitchen island. Gavin was keeping an eye on the kids while they played in the living room.

Dinner was light and filled with a lot of laughs. Olivia was beyond happy that her husband was smiling and laughing and having a good time with his family, something she never got the opportunity to witness. She did see him have a good time with his family before, but not with all his family members. It was great to see him and his mother bonding. She never thought she would see this day, but she was glad it was finally here.

She and Fitz hung out for a little bit after dinner was over, but she was starting to get tired and they still had a pretty long drive back home. Olivia fell asleep early on during the car ride back. She must've been really tired because she slept the entire way. She looked so peaceful and Fitz hated that he had to be the one to wake her up. He brushed a strand of hair behind her ear and lightly stroked her cheek with the back of his hand.

"Livvie." Fitz cooed her name softly.

Olivia stirred and stretched with a yawn. Fitz didn't know why, but he found that sight to be the cutest thing.

"Mmm, are we back already?" She asked as she opened her eyes to take in their surroundings.

"Yeah we're back."

Olivia turned to him and placed her palm on his cheek. "I'm sorry that I fell asleep on you."

Fitz removed her hand from his face and leaned over to peck her lips. "It's okay. You're pregnant with twins and it's pretty late so you get a pass."

"Oh do I?" Olivia asked with a smile.

"Mmhmm." Fitz hummed, returning her smile.

"I'm really proud of you. What you did today was incredibly brave and I'm glad that you were able to release all of that bottled up anger and finally let go." Olivia told him sincerely.

"Thanks Livvie. I couldn't have been able to do that without you. You are truly the best thing that ever happened to me and my family. Without you I would still be holding a grudge towards the woman that gave birth to me."

"You're welcome Fitz." She pressed her lips to his in a brief kiss before another yawn caused her to pull back.

Fitz chuckled, "Okay it's time for you to go to sleep." He exited out of his car and walked around to help Olivia out of the passenger side. They held hands as he escorted her to the front door. Olivia got out her keys and used the one to the house to open the door. She stepped inside and turned back to Fitz.

"I don't want you to leave." Fitz looked at her with raised eyebrows, clearly confused and surprised by her admission. "Stay with me tonight Fitz." It was more of a plea than a question, to which Fitz obliged to.

Without a word he nodded and stepped through the threshold. He allowed Olivia to lead him up to her room. Fitz was nervous as he sat on the end of Olivia's bed while she went through her nightly routine. He turned his head away from her when she changed into her lilac maternity nightgown. Once she was changed, she crawled underneath the covers of her bed.

"Aren't you going to join me?" She asked Fitz shyly.

"Uh yeah." Fitz quickly stood up and stripped off his clothes leaving only his boxers on.

He slid in the bed next to Olivia. He wasn't sure if they were going to be doing more or simply just sleeping, so he lied on his back and waited for her to make the first move. Not even a minute went by when he felt her shift towards him and rested her hand on his abs. She slowly ran her hand up to his chest and then back down his abdomen. He waited with bated breath for her next move, which he hoped went lower on his body. Unfortunately for him, she didn't go any lower and settled with rubbing light circles on his abs with her fingertips.

"Are you sure it's okay with me staying here? I don't want your mom to be upset if she finds out?" Fitz asked as he wrapped his arm protectively around her shoulder, pulling her body into his side.

"Yeah of course it is and we're married so I'm pretty sure my mom wouldn't be upset to find me sleeping beside my husband." Olivia reassured him, kissing his chest where her head was just resting on. "Why do you ask?"

Fitz shrugged, "I don't know. It kind of feels like we're back to the dating stage of our relationship. You know what I mean?"

"Yeah it does."

Fitz was silent for a minute. He had something on his mind, but wasn't sure how to bring up the topic. He also didn't know how Olivia would react to it. "Are you going to move back in with me once the twins are born or are we going to remain separated?" He finally asked, deciding to just go for it.

Olivia paused her innocent ministrations on his chiseled abs and looked up at him as best as she could in the pitch dark. She felt his gaze on hers, but couldn't see his facial features.

"Do you want me to move back in with you?" Olivia answered with a question.

Fitz nodded as if she could see him. "I do want you to move back in with me but only if you really want to. I don't want you to feel obligated to do so because of the twins."

Olivia sighed, "I want to move back in with you but I don't want to move back in that house. That house holds too many memories. A lot of them are too painful. However, I don't want to give it up either. It's our first house and we built a life in it. What do you think?"

"I agree with you. I have the same feelings but I think we should find another house to start over and make better memories in. I think it'll be good for us."

"What will we do with our house then?"

"We'll sell it if that's what you want. I really don't care. I just want to be with you and make you happy." He said honestly.

"Okay let's sell the house." Olivia said confidently.

"Okay I'll give our realtor a call if not tomorrow then sometime this week."

"Great." Olivia yawned yet again.

Fitz smiled and kissed the side of her head. "Alright it's time for us to get some sleep. We'll continue discussing this tomorrow."

Olivia didn't want to go to sleep even though she was beyond tired. She was enjoying their little pillow talk. However, after yawning for the fourth time that night, she relented. They shifted their positions, so that Olivia's back was to Fitz' front. His hand immediately rested on her belly.

"You're the best thing that ever happened to me too." He heard Olivia whisper right before he slipped into a deep sleep.

Maya stood over the married couple sleeping peacefully. She smirked and shook her head at them. Olivia and Fitz had slept through her alarm clock. Maya knew that if she didn't wake them up now, they would be late for work, although she was enjoying seeing her son-in-law shirtless. He had a great body that she couldn't help but admire.

"Livia. Livia, wake up." Maya said softly as she sat on Olivia's side of the bed. Olivia groaned, but didn't wake up. Maya rolled her eyes at her stubborn daughter that was horrible at waking up in the morning. "Livia get up right now or else I'll have to bring in the ice bucket." Maya threatened, which made Olivia's eye shoot open. During her high school days, she fell victim to the ice bucket and definitely didn't ever want to be again.

Maya stood up and helped Olivia sit up. Olivia stretched her tired limbs and yawned.

"You and Fitz must've gotten back pretty late if you're so tired that you slept through your alarm clock." Maya asked, sitting down next to her daughter, rubbing her back.

Olivia looked over at her sleeping husband who was now lying on his stomach. "Yeah we got in late and I didn't want him to driving any more especially since he did all the driving."

"He still looks tired." Maya stated as she observed Fitz.

"I'm tempted not to wake him up but he needs to get going so he won't be late for work."

'Maybe we should give him a few more minutes." Maya suggested and Olivia agreed.

After Olivia went through her morning routine, it was finally time for her to wake up Fitz. She sat on his side of the bed and rubbed his back up and down. She leaned over and kissed his cheek, moving her hand to play with his unruly curls. "Fitz, it's time to wake up." Fitz didn't respond, so Olivia kept calling his name and stroking his head until his sleepy blue eyes opened and made contact with her wide awake doe ones. She thought he was too cute when he slept and was in the process of waking up.

"Good morning." Olivia said, kissing his cheek again.

"Good morning." Fitz replied as he sat up in her bed.

Olivia watched him stretch and let out a yawn.

"How did you sleep?"

"I slept great but I'm more concerned about how you slept. Did the twins give you any problems? I know I slept pretty hard last night so I didn't feel anything if they did." Fitz said in a concerned tone. His hand went to her pregnant stomach. "Did you two behave yourselves last night and let mommy sleep? Hm?" He leaned over and replaced his hand with his lips.

Olivia slipped her hands back into his hair as Fitz moved his kisses up her body. He took his time on the way up, making sure to pay special attention to every area of her exposed skin. He didn't stop until his lips made contact with hers. Fitz brought his hand up to cup her cheek as Olivia continued to run her fingers through his mess of curls. Before they could get carried away, they heard Maya's voice coming from the other side of the door.

"You two better be getting ready and not doing the nasty."

"Mom!" Olivia gasped in embarrassment, burying her face in the crook of Fitz' neck as he laughed. She pulled her head back and swatted his chest. "This is your fault." She declared with a pout.

"How is this my fault?" Fitz questioned with a raised brow.

"You started this."

"I can't help it. You're so damn irresistible."

He tried to lean in for another kiss, only for Olivia to press a finger to his puckered lips.

"Oh no mister. No more of that unless you want my mom barging in on us. She was nice of enough to give us a warning through the door the first time. Besides you have to leave soon so you're not late for work."

Fitz sighed, "You're right. I just don't want to spend any more time away from you."

"I know, I don't want you to either but we have jobs to do. How about we do something later?"

Hearing that made Fitz perk up and a smile crept on his face. "I would like that very much."

Olivia returned his smile. "Me too." She kissed him briefly before they both got up and got ready.

When they were finished, Olivia walked Fitz out to his car, but not before he said goodbye to his mother-in-law, who was in the kitchen cooking breakfast.

"Bye Maya and thank you for letting me spend the night." Fitz gave her a hug that she gladly returned.

"Aw bye Fitz and you're welcome. You're not staying for breakfast?"

Fitz gave her an apologetic look, "I'm sorry, I wish I could but if I don't head out in the next couple of minutes I'm going to be running way behind schedule."

"I understand." She rubbed his taut stomach. "Promise me you'll eat something though and not skip breakfast because you're running late."

"I promise." Fitz smiled and gave her another hug, this time kissing her cheek in addition.

Even though he went a good portion of his life so far without being around his mother, Maya had been the much needed mother figure in his life since the first time they meant. She always took care of him and made sure he was doing well as if he was her own child.

"Okay Fitz , you need to get going." Olivia stated as she checked the time on her wristwatch.

"Okay, okay I'm going." Fitz put his hands up in surrender as Olivia playfully pushed him through the house and out the door. "I'll see you later right?"

"Yep." Olivia reassured him and stood on her tip toes to peck his lips. "Have a good day."

"You too." Now it was Fitz' turn to peck her lips. "Bye."

"Bye."

"Bye Aiden and Aubrey, don't give mommy too much of a hard time." Fitz bent down to kiss her stomach.

Olivia watched him get into his car and waved as he pulled out of the driveway. He waved back before he took off. On his way back to his house, he called his father and relayed everything that had happened during the last twenty-four hours. Big Jerry commended Fitz for finally being able to let go and start another part of his healing process. Fitz was elated to hear his father express his pride in him. He obviously looked up to his father and his approval meant everything. Father and son continued to talk over the phone until Fitz arrived home, but he promised to call back later before disconnecting the call.

"So what's going on between you and Fitz?" Maya asked her daughter as she leaned against the kitchen counter with a cup of fresh brewed coffee in hand.

Olivia couldn't fight the smile that automatically formed on her lips at the mention of Fitz' name. She was genuinely happy for the first time in a really long time and that was because of Fitz. He was turning back into the vintage Fitz she knew. The one before he became the unrecognizable man that was in pain.

"He asked if I wanted to move back in with him." Olivia responded nonchalantly as she took a bite out of her toast, even though she was nearly about to burst on the inside with excitement.

"Oh yeah? What did you say?"

"I told him that I wanted to move back in with him too. Don't get me wrong, I love living here with you mom. You are so much fun to be around and a great help but I really miss my husband. It's been so long since I've seen this side of Fitz and I'm desperate to spend as much time with him as I possibly can." Olivia sighed and diverted her eyes to her plate.

Maya waited for her to continue, but she hesitated. "Why do I feel like there's a 'but' coming."

Olivia finally looked up with tears in her eyes. "Because there is." She said weakly. "I'm afraid. I'm afraid of taking that step. I mean everything is great between us now but what if I upset him and he turns back into that monster he became after Jerry's… I love him mom. I love him so much it hurts but I'm also scared to give him all of me again because I don't think I could survive another heartbreak like the last one. I also feel like we're moving extremely fast because I'm pregnant. I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing for the twins and me. What do you think?"

"Well, I think you're doing fine so far. You and Fitz are spending time with each other, taking things as slow as you can when you're expecting the birth of your twins in a few months as well as trying to repair your marriage. It's understandable that you're scared to jump all in with Fitz again because of what happened but don't lead him on just to pull back when you feel scared. Give him something because right now I see a man who is unsure of himself. He has the confidence but not enough. He thanked me for allowing him to sleepover as if he was your boyfriend instead of your husband. Now I'm not saying to jump in without testing the waters but just keep easing into it like you've been doing. If you feel like moving back in with him is easing into the water then do it but if you're not ready then tell him that and start off with spending some time with him and even spend a night or two a week with him, maybe even the whole weekend."

"What if he's upset that I changed my mind?" Olivia asked in a small voice.

Maya walked over to her and hugged her. Olivia laid her head on her mom's chest, reveling in the feeling of her comforting embrace. "He won't. He'll do whatever makes you comfortable because he doesn't want to lose you."

"Thank you mom for always being my voice of reason."

Maya kissed the top of her daughter's head, "You're welcome sweetheart, anytime. That's what I'm here for. That and to spoil my grandbabies."

Olivia laughed and just shook her head. Her mother was something else.

On Fitz' way to work, he was surprised to see Olivia calling him. Usually they talked during her lunch break, but that wasn't for another few hours. He connected the call to the Bluetooth in his car.

"Hey Livvie. Is everything alright?"

"Actually no." She replied with slight panic in her voice that he immediately picked up on.

Fitz pulled over on the side of the road because he was sure he would get in an accident from whatever bad news he was about to receive.

"What's wrong?" He was almost afraid to ask.

"I forgot the packs of sharpies I bought for my class at home. Since tomorrow is field day, I planned for my students to make tie dye t-shirts. I tried to call my mom to ask her to bring them to me but she's already at work since she's not answering and school's about to start so I can't leave. I know it's a lot to ask since you're going to be late for work but can you please bring them to me?"

Fitz released a breath of relief. He was expecting her to say something a million times worse. With a chuckle he responded, "Of course I can. It's no problem at all."

Olivia too let out a breath of relief as she calmed down.

"Thank you Fitz. You're a lifesaver."

"Don't mention it."

Fitz pulled back onto the road and headed in the direction of the house.

"The spare key is above the house light and the sharpies are right in the drawer of the table in the foyer."

"Okay, I'll be there soon." Fitz assured her.

"Okay and thanks again Fitz."

"You're welcome Livvie. I'll see you in a few."

While, Olivia waited for Fitz to drop off the sharpies, she kept her class busy by allowing them to play silent ball, which was her class' favorite game. By the time one student was left being the victor of the game, there was a knock on the door. Olivia asked the student closest to the door to open it and was happy to see her husband walk through it, holding the four brand new packs of sharpies.

"Nice timing." Olivia joked.

"I'm not interrupting anything, am I?" Fitz asked, scanning the room full of students that were silently staring back at him with curiosity.

"No, I let them play a game while we waited for you to arrive that actually just ended."

"Okay."

Fitz handed her the sharpies.

"Thank you again Fitz for bringing these to me." Olivia said in a low voice for just him to hear as they stood at her desk.

"Livvie, stop thanking. I already told you it's no problem. I'm only…" He looked at his watch. "Twenty-two minutes late for work, no big deal."

"Uh huh sure." Olivia eyed him skeptically causing him to flash her a boyish grin. "I forgot to ask you earlier on the phone because I was freaking out but my mom wanted to know if you would like to have dinner with us tonight?"

"Is that even a question? You know I can't turn down Maya's cooking."

"I know. I remember you almost ate my mom out of a house and home the first time she cooked dinner for you." Olivia laughed and Fitz joined her.

"I remember that day and I can still taste that chili she made. I need to leave before my taste buds explode with anticipation." Fitz quipped.

Olivia continued to laugh as she followed him, "That doesn't even make any sense."

"It does to me."

"Mrs. Grant." Olivia and Fitz both turn their heads to see a student raising her hand.

"Yes Samantha, what is it?" Olivia snapped back into teacher mode, giving her student her undivided attention. She honestly forgot they were in the room.

"Who is he?" Samantha asked the question the rest of her classmates had been whispering to each other.

Olivia followed her student's gaze which led to Fitz. "Class, this is my husband Mr. Grant. Can you all say 'hi' to Mr. Grant?"

"Hi Mr. Grant!" They all said in unison.

"Hi class." Fitz responded, waving to them.

Another student raised his hand. "Yes Caleb?" Olivia called on him.

Caleb directed his question to Fitz. "What do you do?

"I'm an architect." He explained simply to the ten year old, but elaborated more from the blank stares he was getting. "An architect is a person who plans, designs, and oversees construction of buildings."

"Did you design our school?"

"No but it's a nice looking school."

Another girl named Amanda raised her hand and Olivia let Fitz call on her since all of her students were interested in finding out things about him.

"How old are you?"

"Amanda that's rude to ask someone." Olivia gently reprimanded her.

"It's okay." Fitz chuckled. "To answer your question, I'm thirty-five years old."

A bunch of hands flew up in the air and Olivia knew Fitz would keep answering questions and their follow ups if she didn't intervene.

"Okay class, Mr. Grant only has time for two more questions because he has to get to his job as an architect." She called on a boy whose hand was raised before the others. "Ethan."

"Are you coming to our field day tomorrow?"

"Well I actually have tomorrow off from work so if it's okay with Mrs. Grant, I would love to come and cheer you guys on. Is that okay Mrs. Grant?" Fitz asked with a smirk.

"Please Mrs. Grant?" The students all started asking at once, petitioning for Fitz come.

"Oh alright." Olivia conceded.

"Yay!" Everyone, including Fitz cheered.

"Okay one more question… Casey."

Olivia noticed Casey's face was crimson as well as the girl's sitting next to her. They giggled before Casey told Fitz, "You're really handsome." They then bursted in an extreme fit of giggles along with the rest of the girls in the room, while the boys either groaned or laughed.

Fitz didn't know how to respond to the ten year old's admission, so he settled with a polite, "Thank you."

"Okay, okay settle down class and say 'bye' to Mr. Grant." Olivia instructed her students.

They groaned because they didn't want him to leave, but still obliged.

"Bye guys." Fitz waved to them as he walked over to the door with Olivia trailing behind him. "Bye Livvie."

"Bye Fitz, I'll see you tonight."

Although Fitz planted a kiss on her cheek, the class still "ooohed" and giggled. Olivia shook her head and jokingly shoved Fitz out the door, calling him a troublemaker.

Later on that day...

Olivia and Fitz were sitting at the kitchen island, while Maya cooked dinner. They offered to help her, but she declined their offer. She only asked that they set the table. Fitz refused to let Olivia help him though. It didn't take long for him to complete the task before he was joining mother and daughter again. They were discussing their days when Fitz phone started ringing.

"Hey Pop."

"Hey son, how are you?"

"I'm pretty good, can't complain. How about you?"

"I'm good too. I was actually wondering if you wanted to come over for dinner tonight."

Fitz frowned. He hated that he was going to have to turn his dad down.

"I'm sorry Pop. I'm having dinner with Olivia and Maya. Can I take a raincheck?"

"Fitz, invite your father over for dinner." Olivia suggested.

"Are you sure?" Olivia and Maya both nodded.

"Pop, do want to join us for dinner?" Fitz asked, putting his father on speaker phone.

"Oh no, I don't want to intrude or anything like that." Big Jerry humbly declined.

Maya waved her hand and spoke into Fitz' phone, "Nonsense. You won't be intruding. Come over here Jerry, there's more than enough food for all of us."

"Are you sure? Because I know my son can eat a lot."

"Don't worry, I learned to double the amount of ingredients I buy because of sir eats a lot here." Maya responded, giving Fitz a side eye, causing the other three to laugh.

"Okay then, I'll be over shortly."

Fifteen minutes later, Big Jerry arrived just as Maya finished with dinner. He and Fitz helped her carry the food to the table. Everyone was in stitches as Maya and Big Jerry told stories of their children during their younger years, while indulging in the delicious home cooked meal. Once dinner was over, Olivia wanted to walk off all of the food she ate, so she and Fitz took a walk around the neighborhood, while Big Jerry helped Maya wash the dishes. They talked as they worked together to finish the chore, getting to know one another better. They have talked in the past, but never really got to know each other on a deep personal level. Like their children, they found out that they have a lot in common.

Maya poured them both a glass of wine and they moved their conversation to the living room where they shared many more laughs. Eventually the light conversation took a turn in a direction neither of them expected. They started to discuss their marriages and how the single life had been treating them. Maya admitted that she hadn't dated or been intimate with a man since her husband died. Big Jerry admitted that he had attempted to date and failed. He had been intimate with only one woman after his divorce was final. They were both however lonely and yearning for some companionship. They didn't know initiated it, but they began to heavily making out, while Maya straddled Big Jerry's lap with her legs on either side of his body. They were so caught up in their desire that they forgot their children could walk through the door at any moment.

"I can't believe you're coming to field day tomorrow." Olivia said as she and Fitz were walking back to her mother's house. Her arm was wrapped around his waist, while his was thrown over her shoulder.

"It's not how I expected to spend my day off but I think it'll be fun. Plus I can't wait to see your competitive side come out over meaningless children games."

Olivia slapped his chest and laughed, "Shut up. I am not competitive."

Fitz stopped walking and looked down at her incredulously, "That is such a lie. You nearly ripped my head off the last time we played Taboo."

Olivia giggled, "Whatever and if my class wins, we get bragging rights so the games are not meaningless." She stuck her tongue out at him and Fitz ended up grabbing it with his hand. Olivia smacked his hand away as they both laughed.

A comfortable silence fell between them once their laughter subsided. Olivia contemplated on whether or not to bring up their living situation. She decided to do it when they reached her house. Instead of going inside, Olivia pulled Fitz over to the porch swing. He helped her sit down before sitting beside her.

"You remember the conversation we had last night?"

"About you moving back in with me?" Fitz asked, looking down at her resting head on his shoulder.

"Yeah."

"What about it?"

Olivia sat up straight and turned to look Fitz in the eye. He deserved to have her look him straight in the eye when she told him this. "I'm not ready to move in with you yet." Fitz didn't say anything. He honestly didn't know what to say to that. Olivia watched his face fall and she was quick to say, "That doesn't mean I don't want to. I just think we're moving a bit too fast." Olivia waited for Fitz to say something, but again he couldn't and didn't. His silence was driving her crazy though. She hated when he was in his head because she didn't know what was going on in there. "Fitz, please say something." She begged.

"Livvie, I honestly have no idea how to respond to that." He told her truthfully.

"Are you mad?" She asked softly.

Fitz gave her a small smile, "No I'm not mad, a little disappointed but not mad… So what do want to then?" He asked after a moment of silence.

"I want to ease into it. Maybe I can spend some time at the house and even spend a couple nights a week over there." Olivia suggested. "Is that okay with you?"

"If that's what you want to do then it's fine with me. I want you to do whatever you feel you need to do. I'll support your decision no matter what. You lead and I'll surely follow because I love you too much not to."

"I love you too." Olivia said aloud to him for the first time in a while.

Fitz was shocked to hear those words come out of her mouth. He wasn't expecting to hear them for a long time, but now that they did, he felt like his heart was going to explode out of his chest. If they weren't taking things slow, he would drag her into the house, upstairs to her bedroom, and make slow passionate love to her, then fuck her into oblivion, and wash, rinse, repeat.

They sat in silence with their bodies entangled with each other, enjoying the clear night. After a while, a breeze caused Olivia to shiver and Fitz suggested they go back inside. Olivia did not argue with him as she followed him into the warm house. The house was unusually quiet when they entered through the door. Olivia was about to call out for her mom, when they heard strange noises coming from the living room.

Fitz walked ahead of Olivia as she followed closely behind him. They both stopped dead in their tracks at the sight of Maya Pope clad in nothing but her black lace bra riding a shirtless Fitzgerald Grant II with his pants pulled down around his ankles, hard and fast. Both parents were oblivious to their children staring at them with wide eyes and jaws slacked. Finally, Fitz dramatically cleared his throat loud enough to startle his father and mother-in-law.

"Well, well, well…" Fitz said with a mischievous smirk.

Although he and Olivia were grossed out and most likely scarred from watching their parents have sex, they were going to have a fun time teasing the older versions of themselves.

Author's Note: I'll stop here for now. I'll be honest and say it took me forever to upload this chapter because I'm not so sure if anyone would like the direction things are going in. Anyway Fitz finally forgave his mom, but things will remain strained between them because action speaks louder than words. Olivia and Fitz are clearly getting better, yay! I forgot that part 1 of this FF was pretty dark and intense for them. Abby is still upset with Fitz. Should she be? Last but not least Maya and Big Jerry were getting it on until they were interrupted (that's payback for the times Maya interrupted Olivia and Fitz). Btw I didn't think about them potentially getting together until someone said it in their review. I thought the idea was hilarious (in a good way). I hope you all enjoyed!
