Beacon's Exorcist Discontinuing Notice

Hey guys, it's me, ya boi, and I'm here to send you all some bad news. I'm certain that this isn't what you wanted to here, but as of today, Beacon's Exorcist has been continued. First off, I want you all to know that this won't affect my other DGM crossovers. There are many reasons for this happening, a major one being issues back home thanks to this pandemic, but I wanted to make this note to let you all know why, and how I planned for this story to end.

First off, if you couldn't tell, this story hasn't been updated since last September. This is less a fact of me not having material, and more due to time-constraints back home. I have an outline for all of my stories from the beginning to end, and Beacon's Exorcist, which was entering its final arc, was no exception. The problem was that these final chapters were all planned to be 20k word monsters, which I had time to write in the past, but don't now. This is why my recent stories have an average chapter length of 5k words, and not 10k.

This may sound like an excuse, but I truly did love writing this story, as it was my first story on this website. However, with recent events hampering my time to write even more, for reasons I don't want to go into, I believe it was appropriate to announce that I'm officially discontinuing this story.

For those of you who hated this story, know that I took your criticisms to heart, and have been working to improve.

For those of you who wanted to see more, I apologize, but there just isn't anything I can do.

Just so you all know, just because I'm discontinuing this story, this doesn't mean I'm going to leave you all hanging. Below, I've posted the summary of how I wanted Beacon's Exorcist to end, and where I planned for it to go. Again, I'm sorry that it had to end like this, but I hope you won't hold my feet to the fire. So, without further delay, here's the ending to Beacon's Exorcist:

Chapter 37: An Abrupt End

Chapter 37, summary: Allen visits his realm's most prominent arena, there, after witnessing a multitude of fights and issues, starts to regret his time spent without his friends. He talks to his sins, who he brought there to test out their abilities as well as prepare them for the upcoming war.

- cut to team RWBY and the exorcists from the Black Order -

After inspecting the town of Locket, several finders discover an small outcropping of survivors. There, they learn the truth of what happened to Locket, and that Allen Walker was the one who destroyed the city. The exorcists and hunters take this news hard, and several become quite depressed. However, after a pep talk from Ozpin and Komui about betrayal, all of them become adamant to stop, and save, Allen Walker from himself (maybe chapter 38).

-Chapter 38 ends-

Chapter 39 summary: This is the beginning of the final arc of Beacon's Exorcist, this chapter will be 40k words, so set aside time to write it. In this chapter, Allen Walker does some research in the town's library, where he learns the truth of how he ended up in his body. Most of the records vanished with time, but he could piece together (after going back home and visiting London for cross-referencing (this is mid-chapter)) that he first came in contact with Adam (the Millennium Earl) during genesis. During this time of creation, he met Eve, who was semi-responsible for leading him down a respectable path in life.

(SPLIT THIS BACKSTORY UP OVER MULTIPLE CHAPTERS TO AVOID CONFUSING THE AUDIENCE)

Chapter 39/40 summary: While Allen's sins train for the final battle (revelation) against God, Allen goes through his past. After recounting the period of the First Book (double check Bible for references to ensure you don't look dumb) Allen finally figures out that, as punishment for his sins, God banished him to walk the Earth for eternity. After losing his memory, he met Bookman, became an apprentice, before meeting Nea. From here, using the Past!Allen theory as a base, he continues on until he becomes the Allen as we know it.

(SPLIT THIS UP ESPECIALLY OVER CHAPTERS 40-45, 15K chapters each to make up for Allen-redemption arc, as well as expanding on team RWBYs characters)

Chapters 40-44 summary: Besides the Allen moments/training moments for the sins, focus on Ruby's, Lenalee's, and Road's personal feelings about Allen's predicaments. Even though Lenalee and Ruby don't know for sure who Allen is, they can infer. In this chapter is where they abandon their love for Allen, and decide to fight him as an equal. Road, on the other hand, begins to feel doubts. As she believes that if Allen continues on this dark path, he'll end up broken like the Earl.

Chapter 45, 46, 47: Revving up to the final battle. Now that Allen knows that it was God's fault for his predicament, he is finally ready for the final battle. He gathers his sins, the gladiators from the town, and decides to start the Apocalypse. The chapter ends with RWBYs and the exorcists perspective as the skies back on Earth fill with demons, and the horns of the apocalypse begin to ring.

48-51 (20k chapters) (This is the summary, check your detailed file outline for more details): Lenalee and the hunters finally discover that Allen is, in fact, the devil. An all out battle begins between the Noahs and the demons. The sins get pushed back by Ozpin and the exorcist generals, but Allen's power is overwhelming. And so they fall back. However, during this battle, Allen remembers what Road said to him, that this was all just a result of a misunderstanding. Throughout this chapter and the end, Allen feels guilty, and slowly starts to wonder if he could ever be forgiven.

Chapter 52 (final chapter) summary: Allen finally meets Lenalee, his friends, the hunters, and everyone for the final battle. However, in a twist, this isn't a battle. Instead, for the first time in forever, Allen drops to his knees and starts to pray. He doesn't pray for his soul, but instead, the souls for those he's wronged. He realizes, in this moment, what he was truly missing in life wasn't friendship, but understanding. He realizes that it was his lack of understanding which lead to this hell on Earth, and begs his friends for forgiveness. Before Road can stop him, he takes judgement, which Cross gives him, and shoots himself. He dies like a self-destructing akuma would, and his soul vanishes, destroyed by the void. Bringing the story to a sad, melancholic, end.

As you can no doubt tell, there was still *a lot* I had planned for this story. But, sadly, given recent events in the world and in my life, I just can't find the time to finish it. For those of you who hate the story, I'm certain you think I'm just being lazy. But I promise that I'm anything but. My other DGM crossovers are planned to be much shorter (and less cannon-fucky) than Beacon's Exorcist, so even with my screwed up schedule, I should still be able to finish them. Again, I'm sorry for building this up and then not being able to come through, but I really don't have any other option.

I hope you guys can forgive me. And so, without further delay, I'm announcing the end of Beacon's Exorcist.

I never thought that this story would get the support that it did, and I'd like to thank all of you readers out there for that. For those who offered their constructive-critiques regarding stuff like edge and cannon-screwyness, I appreciate it. As this was my first story, it went down a lot of paths which I don't really like looking back on it now.

Again, this doesn't affect my other DGM crossovers. This was a result of life screwing with me, and the fact that I made BE too big without counting on life changing the amount of time I'd have to write it. Going at my current pace now, I only had, like, 1/2 of chapter 37 written (it was planned to be 40k words) but, now, I just don't see how its feasible. At that pace, I'd finish it in 10 more years, and obviously I doubt anyone would want that.

Thank you for supporting the story, and I hope to see you guys in my other DGM crossovers! I hope you'll stay with me as time goes on! Thanks, and have a good day!
