Final chapter! I'm probably going to use that one-shot idea that SpeechBubbleMe suggested, so more of Jacklyn Sparrow will be on the way. Thanks for sticking around!
I do not own POTC
Jack returned to the helm as everyone went back to their stations. She has a mild feeling as to which island Henry lived on. It's been a few years, but she's sure the sea and the stars can guide her there.
Also, Henry and Carina can help her gain a heading. Yet, she noticed they were occupied with each others presence, gazing out at the horizon together.
"So, our kid is with Turner's kid?" Barbossa said.
Jack had been so lost in thought that she never noticed him approach.
"Aye, it would appear so." Jack said, staring at the back of Carina's head.
"Not what I expected, but I approve of it."
Jack nodded, surprised at Barbossa's inquiries. With hesitation she turned and kissed his cheek. A shocking sensation exchanged in that simple touch. "You are forgiven, by the way."
Barbossa lingered there. Jack glanced up at him, slightly embarrassed that he was touching the part of his cheek that she kissed. "Get to work."
"Aye, Captain." He smiled, and walked away.
Barbossa and Jack walked hand in hand behind Henry and Carina. When they strode over a hill, they saw a tiny village rested on a hillside in the distance. It was very homely, and Jack noticed fire smoke lift from the chimneys.
However, she preferred life at the sea, no matter how tempting a domestic life was.
Jack was excited to see Elizabeth again. She was also excited to see Will, who was without a doubt going to be here since his curse is broken.
Elizabeth Turner ran up the grassy hills to meet them. At first her expression was anger, but it morphed into surprise once she saw Jack and Barbossa. Jack wondered what would cause her to be angry, but after looking to Henry and seeing his expression of fear, she was not surprised at all.
"What are you all doing here?" She asked.
"After all this time apart, that's what I get for a hello?" Jack asked.
They laughed and hugged each other.
"Barbossa. Good to see you again." Elizabeth said, shaking his hand. "But, who is this newcomer?"
She was referring to Carina.
"The name is Carina Sparrow." Carina said, offering her hand. "Pleasure to meet you."
At first, Elizabeth was confused, but then she had a wide grin on her face.
She's my- er, our - daughter. It's kind of a long story."
Elizabeth was quiet, but she was staring a long time at Carina. She went over, and she shook her hand. "Nice to finally meet you, Carina. Your parents and I shared an adventure a long time ago." Carina smiled back at Elizabeth, and Elizabeth nodded. "Are you going to join us for dinner?"
"I'm afraid we can't. The sea is calling, and we shouldn't keep it waiting." Jack said.
"Elizabeth!"
Another voice broke the conversation, and Elizabeth immediately straightened, her face lighting up. She ran toward the voice. "Will!"
Jack turned to see that William Turner had made his way to the island as well. When Will and Elizabeth met they kissed as if they haven't seen each other in ten years, which was probably not far off.
Seeing William Turner alive and well lifted a weight that she had on her shoulders for years. She was glad she could do something to help the kid, after all it was her fault that he had been given the curse anyway.
Honestly, if Jack saw that years ago she would be repulsed. Now, she saw it as a romantic gesture. "Should we be doing that too?" Barbossa asked, gesturing to Will and Elizabeth.
"Nah. Not now." Jack said quietly, squeezing his hand.
Once Will and Elizabeth were done, they walked back to the group hand in hand. "Henry, you have some explaining to do." Will said. Henry straightened and nodded. Will's eyes then met with Carina's, and then he finally saw Jack and Barbossa.
"Jacklyn!"
Will walked to Jack and embraced her. "And Barbossa. To what do I owe the honor?"
"We were just dropping by to say hi." Jack said. "Hello. Oh, and this is our daughter Carina. She's going to stay with you guys for awhile, if that's fine."
Will looked from Jack, to Barbossa, to Carina, and a huge grin plastered on his face. He clapped Jack's shoulder, his tired eyes wide with excitement. "That is fine with me. Why won't you let her adventure with you?"
"She's…. attached with your son." Jack said. "We promise though to come by and pick her up sometime in the future."
"When are you going to be back?" Carina asked.
"When would you want us to come back?" Barbossa asked.
Carina switched a look with Henry. "A year. Give us a year."
Jack walked to Carina and smiled, she brushed a lock of hair out of her daughter's face and said. "Then we will be back next year." She hugged her daughter, and found that she didn't really want to let go. However, she knew that the pirate's life wasn't the best for Carina.
Perhaps she could work for the crown. Her skills of horology and astronomy would be of great use there. Then again, she knew that since Carina was a woman, Jack might need to pull a few strings to get her the proper job. Just like how she had to when she started working under Cutler Beckett.
Finally, Jack let go of Carina.
She had everything, and she wasn't going to lose it.
"Henry," Jack started, clapping his shoulder fondly. "It was nice adventuring with you. Treat my daughter well, aye?"
"Yes." Henry said, nodding. "Aye, ma'am."
"We love you, Carina. We'll be back soon." Jack said, and with a final goodbye to everyone. "Today will be the day that you will remember, as the day that you almost caught Captain Jack Sparrow."
"Don't have the wedding without us, you hear?" Elizabeth hollered as they departed.
Jack pretended not to hear that. Did she want to spend the rest of her life with Barbossa? Probably, but did they really need to make a big event out of it? After all, she was already pretty much married to the sea.
They were just over the hill when Jack replied, "I was never invited to your wedding."
"You were busy fighting Davy Jones!" Will's distant voice carried over the hill.
There was some truth to that. However, she was certain that whatever wedding she and Barbossa had, they were going to indeed at least invite the Turners and her daughter.
Eventually they made it back aboard the Pearl, where Jack returned to the helm and Barbossa to his duties, not without first receiving a kiss, which she happily gave.
The ocean was safe once again, the curses were lifted. The waters were at ease. It was a pirate's life, and now she had a legacy that was alive and well. Something that most pirates don't usually get to brag about.
Captain Jacklyn Sparrow really did have it all.
