Weiss tiptoed barefoot across the soft carpet, the soles of her feet brushing the velvety surface without a whisper. Sunlight peered cautiously in through hardly split curtains, and cut a narrow swath across the otherwise darkened dorm. Dressed in a pair of fleecy pajamas, Weiss felt conscious of the fact that she was absolutely throwing her weekend away.

But it was alright. There weren't a lot of things that she'd give up an entire day for, Ruby was one of them.

She crept up beside the bunk and smiled. Wrapped up in her blankets, Ruby was fast asleep, completely dead to the world. Her lips were somewhat parted, and through them her breath whistled, faint and soft, mimicking her features. Weiss' heart skipped, and she let out a sigh. Yes, spending a day with Ruby was worth it.

They didn't get this often, really. With everything that had happened, the grimm invading, the tournament starting to take off… Weiss had missed Ruby, a lot. Surprisingly so, actually. She tried not to let it show, but she was sure Ruby had caught on. She was the one who suggested this, after all.

"C'mon, Weiss! Let's just take tomorrow off and stay home. Let Yang and Blake do all the work!"

Weiss glared sullenly at her feet. "I don't WANT to take a day off. It's all about discipline, dunce."

Ruby shooed that notion off with a wave of her hand. "We're very, very vigilant in our training, Weiss. We can afford a break. We could use one."

Weiss considered it. Ruby sounded serious about it, and she did really like the idea of not going anywhere in the morning. Cuddling up underneath heavy blankets, trading pillow talk, touching hands…

"Fine, we'll take tomorrow off." Weiss agreed.

Ruby grinned from ear to ear and squeezed Weiss' hand intensely. "Thank you! Alright, I'll see you later, Weiss. Yang wants to meet up and talk about something… Yang-y, if you catch my drift."

Weiss screwed her face in disgust. "I'd rather not catch anything that Yang has."

Ruby snorted as she walked away.

Now they were here, and Weiss was gingerly crawling over her lover's sleeping form, trying desperately not to fall on her. It was a dangerous task; put a hand there, avoid placing a knee there… A bead perspiration appeared on her brow.

"Tsk… Ugh." Weiss hissed, annoyed at Ruby's sprawling position. Tangled in all the blankets and taking up over three quarters of the mattress space. It was ridiculous. Absolutely thoughtless. Very Ruby, and therefore by extension somehow was cute.

She put her hand down in the sunken area by Ruby's other side, feeling the mattress sink more. Then she placed a knee, then her other hand…

"Weiss?"

Ruby's voice, thick with sleep yet suspiciously playful, reached Weiss' ears, along with a gust of hot breath that tickled her throat. Weiss shivered and looked down into two misty silver eyes, half filled with sleep and half bursting with mischievous intent.

Ruby's hand reached up and gently grabbed the collar of her shirt. Her fingernail brushed her collarbone ever so slightly.

"Don't."

"I'm going to." Ruby replied huskily. Weiss groaned.

Yank.

Weiss allowed Ruby to pull her down towards her face, and in the space of a second the brunette was kissing her. Soft, lovingly and giggly. Weiss flustered, but willingly fell heavily onto the brunette, scrambling to position herself correctly. Ruby grunted and then laughed into her mouth, her bubbly giddiness imploding forth in force. Weiss tried and failed to hold the kiss, and began to giggle with her.

She pulled her face from Ruby's and buried it in the crook between her neck and shoulder while she laughed. Ruby squeezed the small of her back while her laughter caused her to convulse, creating a bumpy experience for Weiss.

Their hysterics only lasted for a little while longer, though all the while Weiss was aware of every inch of Ruby.

With a happy sigh, Ruby let out one last hiccup and hummed. "Weiss, you're light, but I can't properly breath."

Weiss made no sound, and pretended not to hear her. Ruby sighed.

"I thought you were supposed to be the really passive one."

"I'm comfortable."

Ruby made a conflicted sound in her throat. "Pretty please?"

Weiss rolled her eyes. "I'll get off you." She shifted away and further inwards, though she left Ruby with a gentle kiss on the cheek as she went.

"You're cute, Weiss." Ruby mumbled.

"You are too."

"Like a button?" Ruby grinned, rolling over on her side to face her. Her hair, all messed up and wavy, fell like a transparent curtain in front of her face.

"Far cuter." Weiss assured her, and the brunette blushed.

"Yeah well, same, then."

"Mmmm." Weiss hummed, and ran her hand along Ruby's arm. "Thank you."

Ruby's smile faded into a little curve, and her eyes glistened. There it was, Weiss thought, that perfect moment look that she seemed to get from Ruby lately. It made her turn crimson, filled with so much adoration as it was.

Weiss carefully placed a hand on her cheek and rubbed it with her thumb. Ruby pressed her hand closer and closed her eyes, a peaceful smile taking over.

"This is really strange, sometimes, when you think about it." She mumbled sleepily.

Weiss twisted her mouth. "How so?"

Eyes still closed, Ruby yawned for ten seconds. "I didn't even know I liked anything other than guns, let alone snobby heiress'."

Weiss scowled, though she recognized the playful quipp for what it was. Truthfully, Weiss didn't make herself to appear as the most likely candidate for Ruby, nor did Ruby for her.

It was an effect of shared proximity for an extended period of time that brought their chemistry out, Weiss supposed. She didn't mind, though.

"I guess it is weird. Perfectly so, though."

Ruby didn't respond, and Weiss recognized the softness of her breath on her underarm.

"Perfectly."

Literally just mindless fluff. Not even the good kind, but it's cutesy enough. Couldn't help it, had to write it. When the emotions need sating, the emotions need sating. Enjoy~
