LDD: Relationships. I've spent months worth of time thinking about the relationships in my BishiWorld story and hours on end with a friend poking holes into concepts and misconceptions, all with the knowldge that this scene would eventually have to be written. This story could have posably been finished by now if I didn't feel like I was tearing my charcters into pieces by putting them through this, and that lead to the worst writers block you could think of. Now it hasn't been from just the start of posting this particular "book" (in November) but many years ago when I established the relationships and plotted out where I'd like them to lead. It seems silly at first, then I thought of how long this story has been a part of my life and it didn't feel so silly anymore.

The World of Songwinds Bishounen and Bishoujo:

Demoonica's Story: Home

by

Lady Demoonica Darkmoon

The starfield that was Hiead's mind looked breathtaking upon their entrance. The stars, each a memory, twinkled in the darkness. Along with that though now there were rivers of stars, swirling masses of color, and groups of stars netted together in unrecognizable shapes. "Hmmm..." Yami sounded both curious with that sound and troubled.

"What is it Yami?"

"His mind is trying to heal in the way I intended... but it's also trying to return to the way it once was, so use to it that it is." He paused turning to face Demoonica, but looking over her shoulder instead. "Greetings, Hiead."

Hiead gave Yami a small nod. Demoonica turned quickly. "Oh Hiead! Are you alright?" She rushed to him. "You aren't trapped in your memories?"

Hiead didn't say anything. He looked worn, Yami could tell. The other had probably suffered through his nightmares already, or perhaps Demoonica and his own presence had been enough to shatter them away in the turmoil that was around them. Finally Yami spoke up. "I apologise, while I've healed your fractured soul I failed to-"

"It's alright." Hiead said. There was little emotion behind it, good or bad. "I understand. Where do we start?"

Yami looked around the seemingly endless space that was Hiead's mind. "Try pulling in the memories if you would, they are represented by the stars around us."

Demoonica looked around at the countless amount of stars. It copied the real night sky so well because of just how many there were. Sorting these could take... a lifetime.

Zander woke. The bedroom was quiet, the baby moniter quiet. There wasn't a reason for him to wake, except really it was too quiet. The sounds of Demoonica sleeping beside him were absent, but the baby moniter was also quiet. That was it. No Demoonica here, and no sounds of her in the nursery either. Zander sat up suddenly, violet eyes glowing in the darkness. He wasn't sure why it being so quiet had been enough to wake him. He looked around, letting his sight match his hearing, yes he was alone in the room. The clock said it was well into the middle of the night. Demoonica's spot on the bed was cool to the touch.

He pushed himself off the bed, crossing the bedroom in a few strides. He peeked into Damia's room, the baby was sleeping. He walked inside, but nothing was out of place. Everything seemed to be where it had been when they'd put Damia to bed earlier that night. He was becoming worried, where was she? Had something happened again and he hadn't woken up this time? Zander was out of the room quickly, but as quietly as he could and heading to the stairs leading to the first floor of the house when he caught sight of the door that lead into the Pocket Dimention Space standing ajar. He glanced down the steps, there was no glow that he could tell coming from any room below. Mind made up, he changed direction and headed into the other space.

Inside the building inside the pocket dimention space three people were slowly returning from their mindscapes. An unknown length of time had passed, there was no way to measure it. They had spent time sorting days, weeks, months of information, years of Hieads two lives seperated at last. The tangled webs of stars were shifted through and collected, placed away to be pieced together properly. Yami had forced the new pathways himself, painful as it was to Hiead. "Sorry," he'd been sincere, "but if we don't force the new connections, your mind will try and push everything back to the way it was as it heals."

Yami became aware of thier suroundings first, his experiance with the mind far beyond Demoonica's own. His neck hurt and his back from the slouched over position he'd been in. Demoonica seemed positioned better, somehow leaning backwards with her head back against the headboard. She blinked back to wakefulness and shifted, looking around for a moment. "What time is it?" She mumbled. She felt so tired.

Yami was about to answer, but his reply never came as their attention was caught by the last person in the room. "...Kozue... She took him... escaped with the first experiment..." Hiead wasn't awake, but he was speaking. " ...I could hear their anger... I was still an infant also... Why couldn't she have taken me... Rei... brother..."

Yami sat there confused. Who was this brother and what was all this experiment stuff? Who was Kozue? Demoonica frowned. To Yami she seemed to understand the words tumbling quietly from Hiead's lips.

Hiead moaned, bringing one of his hands up to run his fingers through his bangs. "Damn..."

"Hiead?" Demoonica asked. It was that same memory, she knew that memory probably better that Hiead did. It wasn't running through her head like a nightmare, but she'd read it and reread it and... she was left to draw her own conclusions.

His eyes snapped open suddenly, he'd completely forgotten they were there with him. "Go'way fangirl." He said softly. "Please, both of you... just go away."

Demoonica gave a laugh. "Same Hiead."

"Hiead... what was that?" Yami prodded.

"I don't have the answers you want..."

"No one does." Demoonica clairified. "Hiead's Originator came from a cancelled series with no end or answers."

Yami looked down. "Ah, forgive me. That must be very frustrating on top of everything else."

"I hate them..." Demoonica supplied for the other. "I've watched the show, I've read the books countless times... now that I'm here, even if the writer of the show did continue the plot, the people from it would know long before I found out. But... but as someone who got to see everything from an outside veiw point, I pieced the untold story together the best I could. At least," her voice quieted, "into something that I could understand and seemed to fit. It's all fangirl conjecture." She took a deep breath and launched into the next part. "Hiead's nightmares come from the memories of his Originator. Hiead, the first one that is, was created as an experiment to create a perfect pilot for the Ingrid mecha, a human with no physical problems clear down to the genetic level and a high EX reserve. Rei 'Zero' Enna, was another experiment. Apparently, the two of them 'knew' each other as infants, before one of the people in the project stole Zero away and hid with him on a back-water colony."

"Kozue, I presume?"

Demoonica nodded. "Kozue Enna, a researcher."

Hiead shrugged, he'd been getting use to the nightmares now that they didn't spiral out of control on him. "We've had this conversation before."

"Some of it." Demoonica agreed. "But really Yami needs brought up to speed on what he's dealing with."

"I'm not a psychietrist, but from what I've witnessed of the nigtmares I would consider your originators "childhood", and I use that term very loosely, to have been nothing more than torcher sessions."

"One needs to be able to sync with the Goddess," Hiead said as if remembering the words from long ago, "to be fully one with the soul of an Ingrid... one must be part of of her soul..." Hiead blinked and began to rub his aching head. "What was that?"

"Latent memory." Yami supplied. "I'm doing a large amount of shifting your personal memories around, while filtering them from your Orignator's. There are going to be many memories that pop up that would likely have stayed suppressed for your entire life had I not 'josled' them out into the open."

"But what was it?" Demoonica asked.

"Not entierly sure, I'm not connected to Hieads' mind right now. If I had to guess, it was something he overheard at a young age that his mind remembered on an uncosious level." Yami stood up from the bed and offered Hiead a hand, helping him sit up. "How do you feel?"

"Headache. No worse than normal."

"Thought patterns settling."

Demoonica leaned forward wrapping Hiead in her arms. "I'm sorry. I kept saying I would help you and look how long it's taken me to do anything."

His reply was to kiss her, ignoring the presence of Yami. Hiead could not care less. Until Yami tried to cough and gain their attention. "I believe-"

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" Zanders voice cut through the room, making everyone jump. He stood at the doorway, seething. Fists balled up, hair messy, the natural glow of his eyes even seemed to somehow convey anger. He stepped further into the room, a glare devided between Demoonica and Hiead.

"Zander, I-"

"No-", The chestnut-haired young man suddenly stopped when his foot refused to lift.

Yami gave a sigh. "No fisticuffs." And then with a wave the shadows around Zander's feet retreated. "But this isn't something I'm directly involved in, so I'll be just outside." He walked past Zander, who only gave him a short look, and out into the hall. With a sigh he closed the door.

"Hear me out?" Demoonica asked softly.

Zander turned his face away from her. "How can I?"

"Because you already stopped yelling, because you're standing there instead of... instead of leaving..."

"I'm... not that kind of person." He rubbed the back of his neck. "Isn't this supose to be... you know... easy?"

"Honestly? The lack of perfection is sort of reassuring." She nudged Hiead's shoulder. "This involves you. We've got a lot to discuss."

"Like what?" Hiead was looking at Zander, returning the constant glare.

"You were kissing MY girlfriend, for starters." Zander's stance never changed.

"We have the bond." Hiead put his hand over his chest. "What kind of connection is just words?"

"I love her! You are just-"

"YOU haven't even been around for most of this past year." Hiead interupted. "You were already out of her life when I met her. The damn perverted thief has been better boyfriend material than you have! At least he-"

Demoonica put a hand over Hieads mouth. "I really don't think involving Bakura... or any of the others is a good idea." She pulled her hand back.

"We aren't getting anywhere... just get away from her!" Zander made a wide sweeping motion with his arm.

"Obviously, we know who feels more threatened." Hiead narrowed his eyes.

"Hiead," Demoonica whined, "that isn't helping."

"Fine." He looked at her. "This is involving you, your words-not mine, what do you plan to do?"

"Me?" Demoonica blinked. Suddenly they were both looking at her. "I... I don't know. I still don't know. I've been trying to come to a conclusion about my feelings and they just can't be placed in friendship or attraction. I just..." She stopped. "I NEED both of you." She waved her hands quickly infront of herself. "That isn't supose to sound like a bad sex joke, I swear." She said as she started to turn red. "I'm sorry, I can't pick."

Hiead looked, smug, for whatever reason that was in his head.

Zander looked, deflated, he was faced with a nightmare of loosing what happieness he'd found.

So were their thoughts. Tenitively Zander sat down on the edge of the bed. "I'm not sure what to do."

Demoonica shook her head. "Neither do I... but what I was doing was hurting you... and me... Hiead?"

The white haired young man shrugged. "I'm just mad at his absence... I don't know what to think otherwise."

"Well, it still wasn't fair to him either, even if he says it doesn't bother him." She said to Zander. She took his hand. "I don't want you to leave. I love you." The words were slow, as if testing water. Then Demoonica's lips twitched into a smile. "I do, I love you Alexander Maxwell." She tugged on his hand and hugged him to her. "And I just realized I haven't felt so good saying that as I do now, because it's the honest truth." She pulled away, looking into his eyes that had gone wide by the confession and closeness. "You deserve the truth," she glanced over to Hiead. She didn't pull him into a hug, but she did take his hand as she had Zander's. "That truth is... I care for Hiead too, more than the way I care for my other Bishounen. I can't change that."

When the door opened sometime later, the scene in the hall was priceless. Yami sat, baby Damia in his arms, looking close to falling asleep himself. Damia was trying to chew on the large golden puzzle hung about his neck. Bakura and Malik, Demoonica would never know when they arrived, were busy... paying off bets? Malik suddenly looked guilty and moved behind Bakura. Bakura waved. "G'morning trainer mine! Give me a moment to settle up a few bets... oh, can you tell us if you three shagged in there? Need to know for the last bets. Damn door, couldn't hear a bloody thing through it." Several of the other Bishounen looked as if they couldn't believe he'd just said that. Plus, it was their bets, but they didn't think she'd find out they were taking bets!

Demoonica turned red. "Yami no BAKA!"

LDD: I felt like I was writing Twilight fanfiction. *shivers*

I'm going to state this right here, as it might upset some readers. The relationship between Zander, Demoonica and Hiead will eventually grow to be polyamorous. I'm not about to go into a huge lecture in my notes about it. As such, I understand that it is much harder for some people to think outside the notion of 'the one' and imagine that it might be possible to actually romantically love more than one person simultaneously. It's much easier to lust after more than one person at a time, something I'm sure most people have seen personally or in a friend... look at an average high school.

I will be truthful with you though, the closest I've come to a Poly relationship is watching them on TV.
