A monologue. That's what she chose.

Years of planning her revenge, ample time to make him suffer for his crimes, and a long-winded session of gloating is what his ex-girlfriend apparently decided was his punishment.

Roman had to admit, albeit grudgingly, it was working. If nothing else, he had a massive headache. At least he could talk again.

-"Can we please get to the part where you kill me? I'd much rather avoid your ridiculous scheme explanation." -he said, sounding massively bored.

Denari rolled her eyes. "Really, Roman? My, no chivalry left in this world, is there? Give a lady a chance to gloat, would you?" -she said.

-"Were you a lady, I'd have no trouble granting your wish." -he countered.

Denari barked a laugh. "Ah, Roman. See? This is what I'm talking about! We had something." -she said, almost wistfully. "And then you just had to go and blow me half to pieces. You might have some serious commitment issues, pup. I, on the other hand, suffer from no such thing." -she said, then walked over to him.

Debilitated and bound as he was, he couldn't move away, nor would he give her the satisfaction. She grabbed his throat with her metal hand, effortlessly lifting (and choking) him.

-"After years of using it, I have to say, I love this thing. Most would hate it out of spite, or because it clashed with their figure, but me, well...I appreciate the perks." -she drawled, throwing him fifteen feet away. She leisurely approached him, flexing the metallic limb.

-"True, when I first saw it, I was horrified. Not so much from the arm itself, but from the void it was replacing, y'know? Not just the tit and the arm you disintegrated, either. It's a glaring reminder of the empire you stole from me." -she said, coldly.

She grabbed his right foot, dragging him along, then throwing him against a wall, knocking the wind out of him.

-"It was discontinued almost immediately after I got it, appropriately enough. Now we were both obsolete; set aside for shiny new upstarts like you, who used us to improve, and usurp our rightful places." -she growled softly.

Roman spit out a tooth, winded. "Nice analogy. Speed it up, will you? That tooth might grow back if you don't."

Denari snarled, but calmed herself down.

-"Oh, pup. Whoever said I was going to kill you? No, no. Killing you would end your pain, and that just wouldn't do. I intend to make you hurt for a long time." -she said, licking her teeth.

That set Roman on edge. Why drag him over here, if she wasn't going to kill him?

-"Let's see: I killed your mother, and made you drive your little ice cream themed friend away. I've taken steps to ensure your traitorous crew will abandon you...ah, yes. Now comes the next part."

Denari took out a phone, dialling the emergency number and putting on her best terrified face.

-"There's a man here who's trying to kill me! Please, help me!" -she shouted, then hung up, turning towards Roman with a crooked smile. "Not my best performance, but it doesn't need to be. It's the word of a crippled Faunus against that of a major crime boss."

Roman gave her a bewildered look. "You're...insane. I'm the one getting beat up, here! How are you possibly gonna justify that lie to the cops?"

Denari gave him a sneer. "I wasn't actually lying. I'm a dead woman walking. Your little stunt, all those years back? Guess what, pup. The red Dust got me. Got cellular degeneration spreading all across my body, even as we speak. I have about a week left - I really should thank Neo for speeding up my plans."

She then raised her vest to show him the flaky, purple skin. "Painful way to go. I don't recommend it. Which is why I'm not dying. Not that way, at least. Android! Command 7-Alpha-1-1!"

The robot gave one last 'acknowledged', as its inner workings sparked and caused mini explosions, fusing the circuits and dooming it to fall.

-"Quite the fight you put up. I commend you on your takedown of this bodyguard of mine." -she said sarcastically.

Roman was beyond confused. Denari smiled, stalking closer, dagger at the ready. She put the handle on his bound hands, then cut the bonds, and kicked him hard in the chest.

-"Well, Roman, it was fun catching up. But I'm afraid my time is up." -she said, as the sounds of sirens could be faintly heard in the distance, her mechanical arm grabbing tight hold of her pale neck, slowly choking her.

-"Funny thing about this arm? They discontinued it for a reason."

Roman could do nothing but watch as she stabbed the circuitry, causing the hand to clench, and sealing her fate.

As her parting gift, Denari's last moments left Roman with a nightmarish image of bloodshot, teary, terrified eyes, and the gut-clenching sound of a snapped neck.
