A.N.: This is the last chapter of this fanfiction. Like I've said before, I wanted to keep this as canon-ish as possible, but, given the Boruto manga - that is already different from my universe in this fic - and anime yet to come, that won't be possible, because I decided that I won't read or watch it. I don't want to see Naruto die - actually, I think that's very disrespectful to his fans - and I don't really like the way things are going in the manga. I'm disappointed that they couldn't create a story about the new generation without messing the generation we all know and love up.

That's why I won't continue this fic anymore (although, if you're reading or watching Boruto and eventually find out that Naruto doesn't die and that the manga isn't so weird as it seems, please let me know and I will read it!).

Thank you for reading, reviewing, faving or following this fic. And I'm especially thankful to those that put up with me irregular updates. U guys are awesome 3

"Oh, my God! How is he going to get out of this?!" Ino exclaimed, dropping the popcorn bucket she had on her lap to the floor.

Sai shook his head and pressed pause on the DVD. "I guess we will have to watch the next season to find out." He kneeled on the floor pick up the popcorn.

His fiancée smiled and pulled a DVD box. "Luckily, I also got it on the blockbuster, let's watch it?"

"Ah… I don't know, baby. I will be going out in a mission tomorrow early and it's past midnight already. I promise you we will watch it as soon as I get back, I'm also pretty curious about what is going to happen." He said, holding back a yawn.

"Pretty, pretty please? I don't think I can wait to watch the next season." Ino begged, pouting.

"No, please."

She sighed. "How come you never do what I want?"

"I always do what you want! Just now I'm asking you to be reasonable. Tomorrow is workday… at least for me."

Ino narrowed her blue eyes. "What are you implying?"

Sai sighed. "Nothing. I'm sorry. Let's go to sleep already?"

"You always do that. You start a fight then you get too coward to finish it. Say what you mean!"

"I don't mean… It's just… You've been doing mostly inner jobs lately, so for you it would be okay to spend the night watching series but, for me…"

"Ooh. So you're saying that I can't understand how tired you feel because I do boring womanly jobs, right?"

"I never said that."

"Yes, you did. But maybe you didn't consider that maybe I just wanted to spend all the time possible with you before you go out in this mission because I miss you like crazy when you are not here." Ino closed her eyes. "But I won't stop you from sleeping anymore. I'm going home. Have a good mission."

And she grabbed her DVDs and left his place.

"Sai, what are you doing?" Sakura asked, as she was tying two man up, back to back. "We could use some help."

He raised his eyes from his cellphone. He looked devastated. "Oh… Sorry. I received a message from Ino."

Seeing her friend with that expression made Sakura worry. "What's wrong? Is she alright?"

"No… Yes… I mean… She's fine. We had a fight before I came to this mission and she just told me she… cheated on me."

Sakura almost choked those men with her rope. "What?! How could she do that?"

"I… I pushed her to do it." He run a hand through his hair, his dark eyes were fathomless. "I'm sorry, Sakura, I'll help you with these guys. Where is Naruto?" Sai leaned to tie the rope even tighter.

She stepped back, watching him. It was understandable that he didn't want to think or talk about that now.

"He ran off to catch this guy that tried to run away." She said. "I'll see how he's doing. Will you hold these two?"

"Sure."

Sakura turned her back to them and ran in the direction that Naruto had headed to. She was going to work hard to finish that mission as soon as possible.

She had a friend back home to punch.

They took less than one hour after that to get back to Konoha.

After they were done with report, Sai mumbled something about going to a blockbuster and Sakura turned to Naruto.

"Yosh! Let's find Ino and punch some sense into her."

"Huh?" He said.

"She did something… very wrong to Sai." The words felt like acid on her mouth. "She cheated on him."

Naruto's eyebrows went up. "Right… Like Sasuke and Hinata were cheating on us?"

"No!" She tried to punch him, but he dodged. "This time is for real… Ino told Sai herself."

"Oh. That's why he was so weird." He realized. "Oh, man… That must suck. But wait, are you really sure about this?"

"I just told you…"

"I know, but would Ino really do something like this? I don't know her as well as you do, but I can see how happy she is when she is with Sai. And, I mean, they are going to get married in two weeks, but there's a limit to pre-wedding jitters. Please go talk to Sai first and confirm this. If you're right, tell me and I will arrange a night out with the guys." He shrugged. "I think offering him our support is all we can do. See you, Sakura-chan."

She watched her friend walk aways, impressed. She would never have guessed that the once romantically retarded Naruto - the one that literally took years to realize the feelings of his current wife for him - would be so sensitive one day. Hinata was doing so good to him.

She would also have said a couple of hours ago that Ino was doing good to Sai as well, but now she wasn't so sure of it. Sakura thought of Naruto's words for a bit and decided that he was right. After all, Ino was her best friend and she would never believe she would be capable of cheating on her fiancée if Sai hadn't said so himself. It was possible, though, that he had meant something else, so Sakura decided to give Ino the benefit of doubt.

She went out looking for Sai and he was easy to find. Sakura reached him leaving the blockbuster. He had a resignated expression on his pale face until he spotted her.

"Sakura, hey. Did I forget something?"

"Sai, is it true?" She asked, holding him by the front of his shirt. "About Ino… Are you sure she really did it?"

Sai narrowed his dark eyes and suddenly Sakura could feel his anger. "Yes. She betrayed me. I forgave her the last times she did it, but this time… It was too much. Yes, the night we had before I left was bad, but she didn't even give me the chance to apologize. She just went and did it with someone else."

"Oh, Sai, I'm so sorry… I wish I… I'm sorry."

"It's okay. I've decided to do the same." A dark shadow crossed his face. "Tit for tat."

That shocked Sakura. She stared at her friend with her mouth open. "W-what do you mean?"

"Exactly what I've said. She had it coming." Sai turned his gaze to Sakura and smirked at her. Oddly, she once again realized how much resembled Sasuke. "Say, Sakura... " He grabbed one of her hands and looked deep in her eyes. "Won't you be my partner?"

"What?' She jumped back, aghast.

"Please? I know I will enjoy it if I do it with you." Sai took a step forward, getting close to her again.

"Sai, what the heck are you talking about? We are friends and I have a fiancée too, goddamit!"

Sai tilted his head, confused. "Do you think that Sasuke-kun would be mad?"

"Of course he would!" I think. She shook her head to push that last thought away.

"I see… Well then, I will find someone else. Later, Sakura."

One more time she watched a friend walk away, but this time she was completely unable to move. She couldn't believe the turn of events she was facing right now. Just before that moment, her focus was to help Sai to get over Ino's betrayal, but now… Now what? It didn't seem that Sai was having trouble on getting over it on his own twisted way.

Still, it didn't feel right to just let it go, she felt somewhat responsible now she knew what he was going to do.

"Dammit… Why did he tell me that Ino cheated on him in first place? And why the hell did he tell me his plans? What am I supposed to do with it now?"

As she was asking herself these questions she saw Sai talking to a brunette kunoichi that she took a while to recognize as Tenten. She was smiling a lot and she seemed very excited about whatever Sai was telling her. Then she nodded to Sai and they started to walk side by side, probably heading towards Sai's place.

Sakura finally decided what to do. It was like they said, chicks before d… Man, that was one dirty saying.

Her "chick" reacted rather calmly when she told her about what she had just witnessed.

"That's how it is." Ino said, taking a long sip of her tea. "So?"

"So? So?" Sakura was looking at her with widened eyes. "Were you actually listening to me?!"

"I've heard you. And… It's not like I'm happy about it, but it's alright. It's fair. I think that I will feel better about what I've done after he does the same."

Sakura stared at Ino's nonchalant expression, feeling her head throb. What the hell is wrong with those two?

"So you're that weak, Ino-pig? You are unable to make up for your mistakes, so you need Sai to fix them for you?"

Ino placed the teacup on the table, making a loud noise. "What do you expect me to do? Sure, I shouldn't have done it, but it's not like I can just forget everything if I apologize. In a way, it was worth it. It was better than I expected. I think he will like it too. After he is done, we can talk about it and…"

"Oh, my God! What kind of woman are you? Really!" Sakura was shaking her head. "You know, he is completely crazy about you and even if Sai came up with such a preposterous idea, he won't feel better afterwards. None of you will. You guys will just feel bad because both cheated on each other."

Ino dropped her gaze to the table. "I know, I guess you're right. But it can't be helped, right? I am aware of my mistake and I will apologize, but first is important to let him catch up, because I'm sure we will go straight at it when we make up and Choji and I have already…"

Sakura was blushing beet red, but she was able to speak. "C-Choji? You did it with Choji?!"

"Yeah… I met him on my way home from Sai's place. I didn't know he was into it as well, but he agreed to…"

"He has a girlfriend, for Pete's sake!"

Her friend looked at her, very confused. "I know that. Do you think she would mind?"

The medical nin stared at her. She was starting to feel a heavy miagram coming. "Okay. Okay. I am out of here. You two do as you like."

Sai was running his hands through her smooth skin, breathing in deeply to get more of her intoxicating scent. She leaned back and looked up at him, smiling.

"How was it for you?"

"It was great. Better than I had imagined. Still, I'm sure it would be better if it was you with me."

It was night and they were sitting on Sai's couch, calmly feeling each other to make up for the days of distress. Ino let her body slide down to lay her head on Sai's lap and she reached out to touch his face.

"But you know... " She said slowly. "I would have liked it better if you had done it by yourself. Why did you have to invite Tenten?"

He smiled and pinched her cheek. "Why did you have to do it with Choji?"

Ino laughed. "Touché. But it's indeed a scary series to watch alone. I just didn't think you would be scared as well."

"Excuse me! The villain is a woman who looks just like you and is literally a man eater. How would I not be scared? Besides, I asked Sakura to watch it with me, but she said something about Sasuke-kun being mad about it. Do you think he likes Eternal Freakshow as well?"

"Now that you mentioned it, Sakura was pretty upset with me because I've watched the second season without you and because I was allowing to watch it with Tenten."

He nodded. "Yes, she seemed more troubled than me when I met her at the blockbuster. I assumed she was on that time of the month."

Ino punched his belly lightly. "You just don't assume something like that. There's nothing that can make a woman angrier. Especially if you are right."

The artist held her hand tenderly and nodded. "I'm sorry."

Ino looked up at the ceiling, pensive. "You gave me something to think about. Why would she make such a big deal out of it? I wonder if there is something to do with Sasuke-kun, after all…"

Indeed Sakura tended to take the mistakes that her friends would make in their relationships too seriously, since she didn't have the opportunity to make such mistakes, given that her fiancée was away for no one knows how long. Again.

Still, Eternal Freakshow was just a series. Sure, Ino and Sai simply loved to watch it together and hug each other with every jump scare, but Sakura didn't know that.

'You guys will just feel bad because both cheated on each other.' She had said. Cheated on?

"Wait a minute, Sai… She told me you had spoken to her about what I did right after I've sent you that text. What did you say to her? I mean, what were your exact words?"

He gave it a thought, trying to remember. "I think I've said something like 'Ino cheated on me'. I was pretty upset at the time…"

Ino sat up to face him. "And you didn't explain to her what you meant by that?"

"No, not really. But I thought she had figured it out, since she saw me with the box of the second season when I was going out of the blockbuster and she couldn't really deduce that you had actually… Oh."

"Oh my God! Poor Sakura! Now I get why she was so shocked about everything! We have to go find her and explain things to her! We can't let her thinking that you and I are… like that. Oh. We can't let her think that I cheated on you with Choji!"

Ino got up and ran to the door. Sai followed her slowly.

"Now? Baby, it's eleven PM."

"I don't care! I can't let my maid of honor to think that you and I are getting it on with our friends, dammit!"

"Yeah, I get that it's bad… But clearing things up with Sakura can wait until morning, right? I mean, I can think on better things to do tonight."

Ino sighed and came back to the living room. "Alright… Did you get the third season as well?"

Sai came back as well and wrapped his hands around her waist, pulling her to the couch in such a way she was lying on top of him. "I did, but…?"

"But?"

"That was not what I meant."

Ino smiled and wrapped her arms around him. "In that case, I think I can wait to watch the next season."
