"Merle, leave."

Kagome suddenly stiffened, Oh, Fuck.

Her mind was speeding through possible reasons the Governor would want to be alone with her, had he been alone with Maggie when he forced her to strip? Is that what he's planning? Or…FUCK, or is this about to take a comic book turn rather than the show? That thought caused panic to ensue, because the comic was completely different with this scenario.

"Nah, Merle can stay. I rather like his assholeness, grows on ya." She said slightly desperate.

The Governor smirked coldly, and Kagome was instantly reminded of Naraku. "No, he leaves, and you and I have a little heart to heart."

"What if I don't have a heart?" Kagome asked impulsively. She was attempting to stall, anything to give Michonne time to get to the prison and maybe the rescue party wouldn't be far behind. But she wasn't sure how long she had been knocked out.

"Oh, I'm sure there's one in there somewhere." He nearly growled and again Kagome wondered if there weren't demons in this whacked universe. Merle left, and silence echoed as Kagome and her captor stared at the other. "You sure know a lot…are you a spy?"

She quirked a brow, "You could say that I guess, though not in the same sense of the word you're thinking." As they held eye-contact, Kagome was slowly but meticulously working on the ropes around her wrists.

He watched her for a moment, then began pacing again, "How well do you know Michonne?"

"Just that she's who took out your eye." She noticed she was loosening the ropes, and again thankful for Sessoumaru's lessons. If only I could thank him right now, she thought.

"So, you are a spy. There was no one else in the room when that happened." He attempted to sound conversational, but Kagome could see his weakening grip on reality. "Where is she? He asked.

"No idea, I didn't see her. Your henchman knocked me out like a coward."

"He can be that, no arguing there. But that henchman tells me you know where his brother is." The pacing stopped for a moment, and he leaned over the table. "Where would that be?"

"Up your ass and to the left." Kagome shot back, having successfully gotten one wrist loosened enough to get free if she needed to. But she didn't foresee the hand cracking across her cheek, suddenly the metallic taste of blood ruled her senses. Well that's new.

"Keep being a smartass, I'm rather enjoying myself." He shook his hand while walking around the table slowly.

"But I'm so good at it." Kagome spat blood on the floor before looking to him again. "Were you always a sadist? Even before the outbreak?"

"Oh, so you don't know me that well huh? Good to know."

"I know your daughter was a walker for a while, before Michonne put the poor child out of her misery." Kagome watched him closely, "though I don't know what kind of man you were before this."

"Were you this much of a bitch before?" he asked hoping to rile her, like she was doing him.

"Probably, but we're not talking about me here. You want to know where Daryl and the group is, but I'm not telling you." Kagome loosened the other rope but stilled just as he came to stand behind her chair.

"Merle would really like to know where his brother is, and I need to know if there is any threat to my town nearby…so you'd be doing two good things in one if you told me."

"Nice try, I know what you want to do to the group. Probably the same thing you did to the military groups whose equipment is outside." She was going off memory, and the hope that nothing had changed on this side of the story, at least until now.

"They were already dead, or were biters, we just put them down and benefited from the act." His hands were centimeters from her shoulders, and it was giving her the creeps.

"Whatever helps you sleep at night." Suddenly her head was jerked back by her hair.

"There are a lot of things that make me sleep at night, comfortably." He was inches from her ear, and again her skin crawled.

"Then you had to have been a sadist before this, you're disgusting." She sneered. Just as he was about to say something, or slap her again, there was a bang on the door.

"What?!" He yelled, roughly letting go of her head and leaving her hair a tangled mess.

"Boss, we have a problem." It was someone Kagome couldn't recall his name, one of the lower henchmen. "There's a horde of biters at the front gate and we can't get them to leave."

Kagome rolled her eyes; it was surprising how some people survived as long as they did. While the Governor was distracted, Kagome finished loosening the ropes and slid one hand out to loosen the one around her chest.

"Idiot! Get the team out there and distract them away!" He was getting more and more agitated and Kagome knew her time was running out. He shut the door…and locked it.

Fuck. She slid the other hand out of the bindings and laid it on top of the rope, hoping he wouldn't notice she was loose.

"It seems our time is running short, where is the group?" He suddenly seemed calm, which only made Kagome come to attention faster.

"Go to hell." She watched him; saw his back tense, his shoulders straighten, and then the low chuckle was heard.

"I wish I could, but you'll go first." When he opened the door Kagome was confused, but then he yelled for someone to bring in the biter and she suddenly didn't feel as tense. Instead, she was relieved since it wasn't going to go the way she feared, she really didn't feel like fighting off another rapist.

Just as she pulled the rope free of her chest, someone pushed a nipping corpse into the room with a long-handled tool. "Let's see you how you hold up with him." The Governor said as he left the room, not looking back, and shut the door as the creature was set free.

Kagome instantly untied her ankles with just enough time to swing the chair around to block the rotting teeth aimed for her face. "Whoa…." She gasped as the momentum of the walker pushed her back against the wall, but the chair held. Knowing already knew she had none of her weapons on her, she searched the room for anything usable. Luckily for her, there happened to be a screwdriver left on top of an old dresser in the corner. With the wall as leverage, she pushed the walker off and, still using the chair as a guard, went for the screwdriver.

It was over in seconds, but Kagome was panting a little. She shook her head, if I ever get home…. She left it open ended and headed for the door. It was locked from the outside, and she slammed her fist against it before looking to the only window in the room. High up, small, and possible not the best choice since it was blacked out.

Suddenly, there was a hard slam against the door that made her jump and spin to face it. She could hear what sounded like a scuffle, then the door was being forced open. She was ready, she held the screwdriver and waited…only to see Rick open the door and stop when he saw her stance.

"Whoa Kags, it's me." He held up his hands and she instantly relaxed a little.

"Who all is here?"

"Me, Daryl, Maggie, and Glenn." I followed him out of the room and noticed the smoke lingering in the hall.

"Merle is here, we need to keep him from grabbing Daryl." She said, simultaneously searching for everyone's auras. Why she hadn't done that sooner was nagging at her, but she'd leave that for later.

"I saw him, Daryl is on the outer perimeter making sure we get out." Rick handed her a knife and a gun; they swept through the halls until they found Glenn and Maggie.

"We good?" Rick asked and everyone nodded.

Within minutes they were out of Woodbury. Daryl pulled her close and they hugged for a moment before they took off away from the town. Kagome glanced back and saw the Governor was watching them go, but quickly retreated when the small horde the others had brought started to try and push into the compound.

I live, still. Again, life is a bitch. I have three WIP and this one sadly is not priority but I wanted to update it for you guys before you decided to boycott me lol. I hope you enjoyed the outcome, some of you were begging for Kagome to be ok. Let me know what you think, and I'll try to update again within the year. Love y'all!
